Actually, imo it´s just a waste of time, and rather annoying to those not interested in partizipation; would be interesting if there were a real option to opt out, not only the lame 'no zombies'. Imo the majority of NS-users wouldn´t play. Same goes for the other 'event-days' as well

Eh, maybe it could be a fun idea to think of some new events. Some kind of opt-in event that makes you answer issues to effect gameplay along with "bombing" other countries. Something like a ghost hunting event, or vampire cults taking over, witch covens, or any other type of supernatural spooky monsters. Would be fun to battle other nations and regions as everyone sides with their favorite kind of Halloween characters.

Unfortunately I think z-day and n-day just aren't as exciting as they were in years past, and now it's especially harder to play with fewer nations logging on during the events.

Personally, if they were going to resurrect the dead AND remove cure progress, then I wish the event was longer. As it is now, it just feels bad.

Especially since researching the cure this time around takes so damn long, even if you have ludicrous scientific advancement and top 1% public healthcare like my nation.

Cancel it next year. Isn't fun.

Z-Day is usually something I enjoy, usually. Before things like the cure-reset completely ruined any chance for cleaning up nations and making survivor numbers anything more than atrocious and depressing.

With a reset in progress back to square one and the many dead that can usually be found in larger regions, there's really not much point in trying to fight the zombies at all in any way.
Cure? It'll all just get reset to zero and your nation will end up as a husk you can't do anything with.
Kill? No point, everything rises again.

This isn't really fun. It isn't really engaging.
I play Z-Day to slog through the zombies as a curer and try to aim for nearly 100% survival rates between this nation and my singular puppet. But it's impossible to do that. Impossible to progress fast enough to be ready for this sort of reset... and therefore there's really no reward for actually remaining involved and active, because it all just gets thrown back and you lose anyway. So there's no incentive to care or be enthusiastic.
So. To be honest, if this event continues with this style of 'events', I wouldn't mind if it stopped happening. And even if it does, I might just ignore it from now on.

I don't mind the cure-deselection, personally. But a full 100% reset from tier 5 missiles to tier 1 with too many zombies that can't be cured once the dead rise again?
No.
No.

(A bit rambly, because I'm honestly... furious. I stayed up all night for this only to be presented with this.)

Need a new event for Halloween or something that makes the site look appropriate for the occasion. A horror themed national description or a halloween theme by default for the site for a few days. At this stage it isn't a Halloween event it's just the annual Z-day.

I kind of feel that while I want something different next year, since I'm not part of the volunteer team that keeps this website from crumbling to the ground I probably shouldn't complain too much.

The next Z-Day needs some change:
Not messing with border control, cure decisions or research.

But maybe... you could just... instead allow superweapons to be fired anywhere?

And add a conversion method for the TZES(taking over command from zombies).

Very mixed opinion on Z-Day.
There are some pros of having a Z-Day, like it being an annual event (like N-Day), it being Halloween themed and it being overall demanding.

However, Z-Day (especially the current iteration of it) has lots of cons, like cure research getting reset and it being overall boring despite being demanding.

As I've said before, it's disappointing. Somehow it gets worse every year, and seems to pale in compare to N-Day, which requires you to work with massive groups full of strangers, all striving to achieve the same thing.

Unrelated, but I'd like to see them update cards against nationstates sometime. I miss that.

-

As for fixing it, not sure. Make it run longer with a lower rate of spread, and don't reset progress. It basically nullifies everything you did earlier and puts you in a much worse spot than you would've been if you had just done nothing.

I like Z day, however, they should stop putting their 'finger on the scales' during the course of the event, let it play out based on participant's actions.

I would like to see cures and hordes do much more, for example, zombie hordes unleashing some other strains/varieties of zombies and cures doing more like something of an immunizing or disease resistance component. At the very least, do not revert all research progress and do whatever the fuck they've been doing for the past years.

I like it, it's not as challenging when you are in a small region and I managed to get rid of like 5 of my fellow nations zombies. My region currently has no zombies due to me and others hard work.

This is my first year being involved with this event. However in real life I couldn't participate until literally right now because issues with my Cell Data (that is how I do this website and others as well as email). As for the settings thing it should truly work and block being affected by this event. Especially with the fact that I have no one else in my region to aid me. In fact started my own region to avoid disgusting censorship in regional forums/chat.

It's my first Z-day and at first I enjoyed it, till I got sent zombies down my way, then I used my alts to heal myself and it was a bit of fun curing my enemies, then the reset happend and I'm pissed.

Honestly we should take a break and skip a year, or at the very least add an option to opt-out of Z-day.

I mean, it was quite good. But the resets?

No way I am sacrificing a day of sleep just to help nations who are BOUND to get reinfected again.

Overall, just leave this event, your health is more important than some lousy numbers.

Wholeheartedly agreed. Z-Day needs an overhaul, but so does the NS Halloween. It doesn't have the Halloween vibe here.

I think Z-day is fun, a bit of bonding between nations.

However, this iteration i think some things were wrong. Especially the reset I think they forgot to reset everything because if you started developping the cure immediately at the start 8 hours later you would have MkIV missiles available. After the reset it took over 6 hours of waiting until you could get MK I. Those 6 hours you couldn't do anything but see all the work from the previous 12 hours go to waste. Progress after the reset was made like the reset didn't happen at all. So like you were developping MK 5 instead of 1.

A fun little event, but some regions (cough mine) are just actively using discord to find every zombie person and abosutrly destroy them. It is pretty unfair for the zombies tbh. Not to mention that this account had all it's people killed within seconds.

Imo, maybe try and make it better, and everyone stop doing what my region did and make it unfair for the one side.

Z-Day rocks. There is a lot of challenge and variation depending on where you are Regionally, and there are a lot of way to approach the plague. Nay sayers simply can't think beyond what they wish wold happen. I did like how the dead rose and the cures failed. This is like real life because what's a zombie if it isn't dead and what's a plague that doesn't mutate? Z-Day is a chance for my community to come together and help each other and others as well. We like the challenges.
