Make Z day permanent?

Postby PANGANIA » Sun Nov 01, 2020 9:07 am

Why don't we just make Z-day permanent? It's a fun side activity that can be ignored.

If not Z-day why not something similar? How about instead of zombies we just create a new game.

We can call it War-day:
It'll be like the vietnam war. Survivors(green) are peace lovers and Zombies(red) would just be war lovers. Instead of a cure its propaganda that converts War lovers into Peace lovers. The more Peace lovers there is in your nation the less effective your extermination/provocation(horde) super weapon is. Nations can exterminate War lovers(red) in other nations but not Peace lovers(green). War lover nations can convert Peace Lovers into War lovers by provocation( same as horde).

So idea of the game is:
1. Warmongering nations convert green into red and then kill red.
2. Peace loving nations convert red into green which stops them from exterminating and provoking.

Same thing as Z-day just change a little things.

The idea just seems kind of weird. It would be a lot of work to have that always on too.

Honestly, no.

If anything, Z Day needs to be set aside for a few years, if only so it isn't as boring as it had been. After seven or so years of Z Day, I think most people from around that time are getting really bored of it, and would prefer something original to be put in its place. Even nothing would be better than Z Day.

If Z-day was permanent then it wouldn’t be special and people would be sick of it

For people who have been on this site since Z-Day started, and that have been doing this every Halloween since then, I think most of them are already sick of it.

I think it being one time a year is what makes it so much fun and enjoyable. I know I am not the only one who is l looking forward to it months in advance.

In my opinion, while it might be fun, I like it the way it is right now.

Are you aware that participation in Z-Day optional?

It might be boring to you, but does that mean it is boring to everyone else? Judging by the level of participation, I think quite the opposite is true. I really enjoy Z-Day, and would like to see it continue. Of course its reasonable for you to suggest additional mini-games.

Z-Day is a fun event, don't get me wrong, but making it a permanent feature seems way over the top. It's fun as a special "one-day-a-year" event, and that fun would just end up getting drained rather quickly if Z-Day were to be made a permanent thing, even if it were to be introduced as a modified feature. Besides, I suspect that, considering how a nation gets knocked out of the event after its entire population has ended up dead, we'd start to run into the issue of nations not being able to participate in this permanent feature anymore rather quickly.

Firstly, yes, I am aware that it is optional. And I acknowledge there are some who enjoy it, particularly those who can zombify everyone else instantly or can cure everyone in a locked hidey-hole.

Secondly, I have a hunch that participation has decreased since 2016. I can't exactly tell the details, but I am 95% sure that there are at least 20% fewer people who participate in this, whether because they get zombified instantly, or they just outright ignore the event. And when the silent majority feels that Z-Day has gone on for far too long, I feel it'd be nice to just set it aside, even if it's just for a year, so that in 2022, more people would be willing to participate in Z-Day.

Z-Day as such only functions as an irregular event, and your given proposal wouldn't change that - eventually it'd settle into a stable thing where every nation in a region is either cured or dead (and it probably wouldn't take that long).

This is true. I'd love to do a Halloween event like the Harry Potter Galas but you really can't with zday on

Meanwhile I only got to participate for an hour. And that participation didn't even matter as we had 23 million phantom zombie in no nation in particular, so all our cure work was for naught
