In light of the upcoming "Zombie Apocalypse," many nations are preparing to take action against infected people. These actions include such abhorrent practices as involuntary medication and even murder of infected people. The world must recognize that these practices violate human rights.
The most common way that nations attempt to justify these human rights violations is by claiming that zombies aren't human, and therefore do not have rights. Their reasoning can be easily understood. Zombies have a scary disease and act different, so clearly they aren't human. However, this is not true. Infection by the zombie virus does not cause someone to lose their humanity. Humanity is something that can never be lost, and rights that come with humanity are never lost, too. Classification of zombies as "non-human" is a form of dehumanization, which is used to justify genocide. Those who dehumanize zombies are genocidal and seek to destroy human rights, and must not gain power.
As zombies are human beings, they are entitled to human rights. We must take into account these human rights as we face the threat of disease, and we must protect zombies from genocidal dehumanizers.
