The Classic NS Zombie Apocalypse...

Postby The Advent-Unity » Mon Oct 20, 2014 8:18 am

It is a shame the zombie event has become so gameplay centric. I really enjoyed the original version where you only had the option to switch to cure or exterminate mode and had to sit back and hope your nation survived.

They should reimplement that feature instead of it relying on you needing to sit there and spam the cure button. Not saying they should remove what they have now because I know people enjoy it, but still, would be nice to have the old grind to the death version back.

Anyone else feel like this?

The alternative is just ignoring the numbers, which is what I do. For me the actual Zombie Apocalypse event is just an event flag to do some good old Zombie RPs.

Well, I like watching the numbers tick down, that and the lack of control of the original zombie had is what made it so exciting. By giving the players control I feel it just loses all the tension and excitement and the event once had.

My RP group had a lot of difficulty getting into the spirit of things with the current version, but if you look up the 'Crewmen Journals' that were done for the original event you can see that it was so much easier to get into the drove of RPing during that version of the event.

Now, as I said before, it has just becoming too gameplay centric and involving the dreaded NS politics.

You're not really forced to use these options, really. Okay, granted - others might use them on you if you're in the same region but unless you're in a gargantuan region where everyone does their own thing and doesn't give a damn about others anyway it should be more than possible to achieve a consensus on what needs to be done, especially with people you interact with on a regular basis.
