The Chancellor(head of state) has secured absolute power to deal with the Zombies with the prime minister, and the cabinet are in secure locations with the Parliament ordered in underground bunkers. The Chancellor ordered that all nuclear weapons armed with the Emergency Management Council(EMC) ordering the Military to kill all infected people and Zombies. Local Militias have been set up and are helping the authorities secure peace.

The sector will then be flooded with massive levels of radiation. Most living organisms will end up dead within minutes. This will preserve the infrastructure and also assist in terminating the zombie threat.

Luckily most of the zombies are moving North from the South, which just so happens to coincide with our main military front. However, due to the massive number of zombies from the neighboring Northern Province of Massachusetts, UCoM's small professional military is too small for the task. Even augmented by our larger number of unorganized militia forces, efforts to prevent a breakout have proved unsuccessful.

The National People's Army was mobilised and a state of emergency was declared. Quarantine zones were soon established, government buildings were put on lockdown and hospitals were secured. Martial law was introduced almost immediately following the state of emergency and reservists were called into service. The most populated cities are on complete lockdown with strict curfews in place.

As soon as the first cases were reported, the National Crisis and Emergencies Committee of the Galaican government gathered for an emergency session. It was decided to seek permission from the Senat and Imperial Diet to activate emergency legislation which disbanded the powers of civilian government and placed the nation under the control of a 'War' cabinet consisting of Ministers, Generals and the King-Emperor.

In order to continue functioning, the government declared a safe zone around the capital patrolled by police and Army units whilst it coordinated a long-term crisis management strategy. Initially, military units across the country were given orders to kill the infected on sight so as to stem the spread of the virus. The Galaican government dispatched emissaries to Arumdaum where a meeting a Lucernan officials and diplomats attempted to coordinate a crisis response strategy.

During this time, the level of infection in Galaica-Malbork increased. So as to protect the Royal Family, Imperial General Staff and Cabinet national alert was raised to Status 1, the highest possible level. Under these terms the government and military staff were evacuated to a secure bunker in the Giewont mountains, constructed as a nuclear shelter during the 1950s. The facility is rumoured to be one of the most secure in the entire Commonwealth, defended by layers of cement and steel as well as being surrounded by a perimeter of heavily armed troops. Here, the government is expected to roll out its emergency plans.

Across the rest of the country wartime contingency measures have been implemented. A strict curfew has been enforced. Radio, text and television messages have advised people to fortify their residences and await further instruction. Galaico-Malborker police and military forces have deployed onto the streets where possible with orders to shoot any infected persons that they see. Under emergency powers legislation, regional governments have assumed complete responsibility for their respective areas and are now operating out of prebuilt nuclear bunkers, coordinating the deployment of emergency services.

The Imperial Galaican Navy has recently announced that it will make an attempt to evacuate the young and elderly to the Courland Islands, overseas Galaican colonies which, due to their isolated position as island countries are safe from infection. The air force has also donated aircraft to support the effort.
