True, true. Though are these types of missions near impossible to pull off and because of that rare?

Perhaps another, possible, solution is for the first 24 [or 12] hours endorsements made by nations in region's they've been in for less than a week count at 1/2 marks? That would be one sure way to slice things in half for both sides. Honestly this idea is literally something off the top of my head so it's probably not even doable nor a solution to anything

Charles Cerebella wrote:I've just spent a crazy amount of time reading over the VD idea thread when I should be doing other stuff and thinking about this. It is an interesting idea but there are a number of problems with it, for example simply with implementation, and that it is specifically designed to diminish the advantages and tactics we use and have worked hard to implement successfully.

Of course we have an advantage when it comes to this in that we are able to deploy the numbers to most likely prevent liberations but then in those cases then this idea even loses its merit in being able to make liberations easier. The difficulties of coordinating into two piles for each delegate are easy to get around as the same thing essentially happens at the moment with TNI being deployed in a few places simultaneously in the past few weeks. The effect of it will be more raids that are reliant on larger numbers of troops and that will simply mean that it is even harder for smaller groups, there will be more large raids and less smaller raids that are going on simultaneously and the r/d game will become even less diverse.

I also can't help feel that this is going about it the wrong way. It is making holding more difficult rather than attempting liberations easier. Perhaps a simpler fix to help enable liberations would be slow down the speed which nations can be ejected with some kid of spam limit like for TGs?

How much slower, though?

And I agree, if defenders could get their act together, the need for technical changes to piling wouldn't be there.
Never underestimate the power of cynicism, pessimism and negativity to prevent terrible things from happening. Only idealists try to build the future on a mountain of bodies.

The Thing to Remember About NationStates is that it is an almost entirely social game - fundamentally, you have no power beyond your own ability to convince people to go along with your ideas. In that sense, even the most dictatorial region is fundamentally democratic.
