Telegram To Italy, (Olaszország)

To: The Kingdom Of Italy

From: Külügyi Hivatal

Dear Esteemed Il Duce,
We express great jubilation and excitement for the people of Italy and Hungary. As correspondence was met with positive reception in Italy and response in the hope of being informed, we write to plan collaborative ventures for future stratagems.

Hungary intends to perform joint military training exercises with Italy in agreed upon locations to create cohesion between our militaries. We are also of mind to have our officers and Italy's have meetings to discuss various military strategies to encompass victory as seen in Albania and Ethiopia. There will also be the inclusion of military technology being shared, most notably the application of synthetic materials.

Hungary has designs upon the Balkans, however it doesn't wish to come into conflict with Italy over this, to solve this problem we suggest the meeting of Benito Mussolini and Miklos Horthy in Rome or Budapest. We are resolute in our determination to expand Hungary at a suitable time to encompass a front that may support itself and Italy.

Please consider our requests in a manner that suit your availability. We await of mind that your response is under the duress of military movement into the USSR.

Sincerely, Külügyi Hivatal

The French army has accepted The SkieldGuard and The Black Lions offers, Gladly letting them join the French War Effort. With French troops showing high respect for the German Soldiers, Especially considering the battles they have fought in. And the 10,000 Troops back in France have also begun going through Germany, These soldiers most likely will reach the middle of Germany when the other 70,000 will be entering Poland soon.

The French effort to build a new Chemical bomb has also made slight progress, With a design now done but production of the weapon stalling, Its still unsure whether it will be possible and practical to use this bomb in combat, but the French army is still optimistic.

One of the Battleships has been named Eetu (Basically Edward, also means Protector or Guardian).
The other Battleship has been Named
Iku-Turso – Tursas (Sea monster and the Finnish God of War).
The Carrier has been Named Sielulintu (Soul-Bird), with progress on it being slowed to work on smaller ships

the Finnish army also gets better weapons, the KP/31 has been replaced with the more useful KP/36-37 SMG.
The Mosin Nagant Remains the same, but this one has been specially modified for all Finnish troops, this one has a slightly longer barrel, stocks of the guns are engraved with Finnish writing, to Distinguish between Russian and Finnish Mosin Nagant rifles.

Emergency Broadcast from Japan

Postby Stuller » Wed Apr 26, 2023 1:10 pm

Tokyo, Japan

To all peoples of the earth,

It is with profound and unceasing grief that I report to you the deaths of Prime Minister Hirota Kōki, and His Imperial Majesty the Emperor Showa. During an audience with the Finnish Prime Minister and the Imperial Family, Soviet Bombers evaded anti-aircraft fire and dropped incendiary bombs upon the Imperial Palace. The Finnish Prime Minister, Kyösti Kallio, survived without life threatening injuries. At this time it is unknown if any member of the Imperial family remains alive.

With a single stroke of cruelty, the Soviet Union has darkened the light of heaven and pierced the hearts of the Japanese people. The Emperor did not merely lead Japan, he was Japan, and without him, and with the dynastic succession uncertain, the entire nation finds itself in the position of Ronin, masterless warriors. In such a situation, the anti-aircraft gunners, consumed with grief over their failure to protect the Emperor, have already committed seppuku. It is certainly my heart, and doubtlessly that of all Japanese people, to join them in death.

And yet, one duty remains before we can accept death's sweet embrace: vengeance. We realize it was not the people of Russia who sought war with Japan and murdered our Emperor, the guilt lies entirely with the Soviet leadership who ordered the invasion of our lands and the bombing of our cities.

To that end, I have assumed supreme command of all Japan. To that end, we hereby immediately and irrevocably declare total war upon the Soviet Union, which shall end only when Trotsky and his cronies are handed over and hanged as the war criminals they are. Until that time, the Imperial Army shall proceed from Vladivostok across Russia, taking no prisoners and leaving nothing alive behind them. The Imperial Navy shall sail to the Baltic and reduce Leningrad to ash, proceeding from there to Moscow, which we shall destroy brick by brick until Trotsky is found and hanged.

If the people of Russia wish to escape the coming destruction, they have only to hand over the criminals at the head of their government. At the moment they are delivered to us, all Japanese troops shall leave Soviet territory and cease military operations against the Soviet Union. We make no further demands. We shall accept no other outcome.

To our Chinese cousins, we believe you have been used and abused by the Soviets, and are confident you had no part in the murder of the Emperor. The conflict between China and Japan serves only the Soviets. Therefore Japan immediately renounces all claim upon Manchuria, including Port Arthur and its surroundings, to the Chinese, conditional only upon your non-interference in our war against the Soviet Union. Additionally, we shall cease our blockade of Chinese ports and allow free passage to all non-Soviet shipping. Finally, when Trotsky is brought to Justice, Japan shall pay restitution for all the damage caused to Chinese people and property. Truly, we wish for peace and good relations with you.

But we will have our revenge.

Yamamoto Isoroku,
Shogun

Dear Yamamoto Isoroku,

I am deeply saddened to hear of the tragic deaths of Prime Minister Hirota Kōki and His Imperial Majesty the Emperor Showa. Their loss is felt not only by the Japanese people, but by the entire world.

I understand your desire for vengeance against the Soviet Union for their heinous act. However, I must strongly urge you to reconsider your declaration of total war. The consequences of such a war would be catastrophic, not only for Japan and the Soviet Union, but for all nations involved.

Furthermore, I cannot condone all of what you recommend. However, rest assured, the United States shall assist you in your ultimate mission to defeat the communist threat, as we deal with communist incursions on our borders. I feel it is also necessary to notify you of Project Staten Island, a top secret project which can end the war instantaneously.

I urge you to reconsider your course of action, and proceed with more caution.

Sincerely,

Franklin D. Roosevelt

Josip Tito immediately held a speech after the death of the Japanese Prime Minister and the Emperor. As he stood over the crowd of Yugoslavians, he cleared his throat. This wasn't just a speech to the Yugoslavian people and government, this was a speech to the broader public. It was a speech to every country and nation. He needed to take a clear stance, or else he'd get involved in the war, but rather out of force than choosing to involve himself any further. Clearing his throat, he looked ahead. This was either going to be the death of Yugoslavia and a socialist future, or one where his people and all people could truly prosper underneath a communist united front.

"Hello. I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the Japanese people, for the death of their Prime Minister Hirota Kōki and His Imperial Majesty the Emperor Showa. It is an incredible loss of life. However, we condemn their declaration of total war and their announcement of the brutality they will commit against the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union may have deal the first strike against Japan, but Japan has been planning on fighting the Soviet Union for a long time. It was only a matter of time before they would declare war against it. It is not just retaliation. It is a battle for ideals. It is a battle against communism, of which these great superpowers fear.

I call on both Japan and the Soviet Union to immediately recall forces. As a communist friend and ally to the Soviet Union, we know how destructive all out war will be, not just for the people of the Soviet Union, but for the world. It will not just be the death of either country, but the death of all countries. It was not that long ago, that men just like us decided to forego peace and instead lead a brutal war against each other. Thank you, and may the light shine upon all nations."

Tito stepped down and sighed. If war was going to continue, he might have to leave the USSR out to dry, and that was something he desperately didn't want to do. But it seemed like that was the likely possibility, especially with the dangers Yugoslavia was already facing.

Walking back into his office, he immediately began writing a telegram to the one place he despised the most, one that he never thought he would.

Telegram to Italy
I am coming to you, not as a man, or soldier, but as a leader. The recent annexation of Albania is not just to gain more territory, we know of your goals to fire upon Yugoslavia. I am telling you, this is a fight that you do not want. Cease all of your hostilities, or Yugoslavia will defend itself. Do not make the same mistake the Soviet Union did.

Mussolini sat in his ornate office in Rome, his mind occupied with the latest news from the far east. Suddenly, a messenger burst through the doors, his face filled with urgency.

"Duce," the man gasped, "the Emperor of Japan has passed away."

Mussolini's eyes widened in shock and disbelief. For a moment, he sat in stunned silence, struggling to comprehend the news. The emperor, a symbol of Japan's strength and resilience, had been a valuable ally to Italy in their joint efforts to halt Soviet expansion of their spheres of influence in Asia.

He had quickly jotted down a letter to the nation.

Dear Shogun Yamamoto Isoroku,
It is with great sorrow that I received the news of the untimely passing of Emperor Hirohito and Prime Minister Hirota Kōki in the recent vicious Soviet assault. Their deaths are a great loss not only to Japan but to the entire world.

As fellow leaders, I offer my deepest condolences to the people of Japan and express my unwavering solidarity with your nation in this time of mourning. I am well aware of the close relationship between our two countries and the importance of maintaining it in these trying times.

The tragedy that has befallen Japan only strengthens our resolve to work together towards a brighter future for our nations. As always, Italy stands ready to lend any assistance that may be required.

Please convey Italy's deepest sympathies to the Japanese people and know that my thoughts are with you in these difficult moments.

Sincerely,
Benito Mussolini, Il Duce

As he sat there, lost in thought, his aide-de-camp entered the room and placed another telegram on his desk. It was from Hungary, responding to Italy's previous message proposing joint military training exercises and possible meetings between their leaders. Mussolini's eyes flicked over the text, his lips curling slightly into a smile at the prospect of forging stronger ties with a fellow friendly power.

But his mood quickly soured as he turned his attention to the third telegram, this one from Yugoslavia. He had 2 responses quickly penned.

Dear Esteemed Külügyi Hivatal,
We thank you for your recent letter and express our great enthusiasm towards the collaboration between our two countries. It is in our mutual interest to strengthen our military ties and share strategies that have been successful in past conflicts. We gladly accept your proposal for joint military training exercises, which we think will be beneficial to happen in Hungary, and look forward to the exchange of military technology, particularly in the area of synthetic materials and new long-ranged weapons.

Regarding Hungary's designs upon the Balkans, we understand your aspirations and share your goal of expanding our respective territories. We propose that we arrange a meeting between myself and regent Miklos in Rome to discuss this further. In addition, we will be sending some of our top generals to Hungary to observe your military operations and share our own expertise with your officers.

We appreciate your consideration of our requests and look forward to further collaboration between our nations. Rest assured that we will not let the ongoing situation with the USSR detract from our efforts to strengthen our alliance.

Sincerely,
Benito Mussolini, Il Duce

Dear Josip Tito,
I write to you today with utmost seriousness in response to your request for us to remove our troops from the border. Let me make it clear that we shall not bow to your wishes, nor to the wishes of any nation that seeks to undermine the security and sovereignty of our nation.

However, I am a reasonable man, and it is possible for us to come to an agreement. If Yugoslavia were to consider giving up Dalmatia, Istria, and Fiume, we may be able to reconsider our position on the matter. I trust that you understand the gravity of the situation and the consequences that may come should you refuse.

We have no intention of escalating tensions or engaging in hostilities, but we will not hesitate to defend our nation and its interests should the need arise. I urge you to carefully consider your actions and the potential consequences before making any... "rash" decisions.

Sincerely,
Benito Mussolini, Il Duce

However, Mussolini would already be requesting for the appearance of his commanders.

A somber look came over Tito's face when he read the telegram from Italy. He dropped the papers and sighed. Now was no time to act emotionally. He needed to act smart, rationally, and be calm. Pushing over the papers, he began writing multiple telegrams.

Telegram to Turkey
It is with great sorrow that Italy wants to take over the territory of Dalmatia, Istria and Fiume. I have done everything I can to not engage in conflict with Italy, for the betterment of my people and the people in all our regions. But sadly, Italy's fascist ruler has no qualms with violence. We call upon your aid in time, when war inevtiabely begins between my country and Italy. Thank you.

Josip Broz Tito, President of the SFRY

Telegram to the US
Hello, President Roosevelt. Despite our differences, I come to you in friendship. Despite our nations disagreeing, I seek to ally with you, at least for a time. There is a threat that you have been missing, during your conflict with the Soviet Union. The threat of fascism. It is gripping Eastern Europe. It will most certainly grip the Soviet Union if it falls, and a new threat will arise. For the liberals, for the conservatives, for the communists. Italy has been constantly teetering on invasion, and wants to unfairly ask Yugoslavia to hand territory over. We ask, if not directly, material and support in fighting the fascist menace.

I know you have fear of communism, but I have come to you, for us to get past that fear, and realize the true enemy is allying and hiding whilst the focus is on Japan and the Soviet Union. Thank you.

Josip Broz Tito, President of the SFRY

Immediately after sending the telegram, Tito began mobilizing his army. Dozens of soldiers began to get sent among the borders of Italy and Yugoslavia, as well as the border to Albania. He cleared his throat, and sent one last telegram to Italy.

Telegram to Italy
You say you wish for sovereignty of your nation, and yet you are demanding I give up land that is not yours, nor never was. You have constantly threatened and schemed to attack Yugoslavia, and have repeatedly provoked us and encroached on our land. We will not give you any territory, and if you attempt to invade, we will declare war and liberate Italy from the fascist threat. Make no mistake, I have prepared for this ever since you came to power. I have had years to prepare. Do not make the mistake the leaders of Rome once did, which led to their fall.

This is my FINAL warning.

Dear President Tito,

I appreciate your efforts to reach out to me in friendship, and to bring attention to the threat of fascism in Eastern Europe. However, I must remind you that the United States is currently engaged in a conflict against both the Andes Union and the Soviet Union, and most of our resources are fully committed to those efforts.

While I understand your concerns about Italy's territorial ambitions and their potential impact on Yugoslavia, I must also note that Yugoslavia has chosen to align itself with the Soviet Union, a nation that has not proven to be a reliable ally in your fight against fascism, whilst also being an open enemy of the United States. It is difficult for me to justify providing direct aid to a nation that has willingly chosen to align itself with an adversary. Therefore, I will attempt to have indirect aid sent, via our allies.

I hope that you can appreciate the challenging position in which I find myself, and I wish you and your people all the best in your efforts to defend against the fascist threat.

Sincerely,

Franklin D. Roosevelt

To the Honorable Chairman Nihâl Atsız,

His Imperial Majesty the Emperor congratulates the Turks on the ongoing purification of their society from undesirable elements, and is confident that under your leadership your nation shall again reach heights of power and glory unseen since the days of Suleiman the Magnificent.

However, there is a threat to the future prosperity of the Turks, and indeed of all the peoples of the world, the jealous and hateful Apparatchiks of the Soviet Union, who seek to destroy all human freedom and prosperity in order to satisfy their own desires. The USSR has in recent months effectively annexed all of China and launched an unprovoked war of aggression against Imperial Japan. We stand firm, yet are a nation of small islands standing against a bear that stands astride all Asia. We have European allies ready to assist us, but your closure of the Dardanelles and Bosporus prevents them from reaching our attacker without causing harm to your fair nation.

Surely it would be a tragedy for any violence to befall Istanbul, the jewel of the world!

Yet there is also an opportunity for the Turks. Should the straits be reopened, the soldiers sailing through would not only leave Istanbul unmolested, but doubtless spend significant sums in your most excellent city. Additionally, in return for reopening the straits to our European allies, Japan would be prepared to recognize and support the right and proper Turkish claims upon all of the Arabian peninsula, all of the Caucasus, and all of Southern Asia to the borders of India and China.

In the hope of friendship,
Kōki Hirota
Prime Minister to the Emperor of Japan

Chairman Nihâl Atsız read over the Japanese telegram, continuing to look over this particular section with his temper growing shorter by the second:
… your closure of the Dardanelles and Bosporus prevents them from reaching our attacker without causing harm to your fair nation.

Surely it would be a tragedy for any violence to befall Istanbul, the jewel of the world!

“Is this some kind of threat?,” he finally exclaimed, causing his advisors in the room to flinch. “Do they think they can just intimidate us into letting them use the Turkish Straits for their silly war? Well, to hell with them! If they really want to fight the Soviet Union they can find a way around!”

It was then that another aid came running in through the door, coming to a stop in front of the Chairman’s desk. He looked to the aide, who had been panting from exhaustion, an eyebrow raised. “What seems to be the trouble, lad?” The aide then went around and whispered something in Nihâl Atsız‘s ear, and his expression grew more somber as they continued. “Oh…dear. That’s unfortunate. I’ll have our condolences sent to be sure.”

To His Imperial Majesty Shogun Yamamoto Isoroku,

Allow me to begin by offering my sincerest condolences on behalf of the Turkish nation for the loss of the Prime Minister and the former Shogun. They were both exceptional leaders and brilliant individuals who perfectly exemplified and personified the glorious Japanese people and nation. We mourn alongside you during this difficult time.

On the topic of the business this telegram was initially intended for, while your offer is certainly generous, which we thank you for, we have kept the Turkish Straits closed to all combatants in the global war in the first place because we believe it to be in our best interest. We are committed to a policy of absolute neutrality unless our hand is forced, which means we shall not allow any use of Turkey’s territory - land, sea, or otherwise - for the sake of the war by any party involved. As such, they are to remain closed to both sides with no exceptions.

I again offer my own personal condolences, and do hope this finds you well.

Best regards,

Chairman Nihâl Atsız

To the Honorable President Josip Broz Tito,

I regret the circumstances that led you to send us this message and send my sympathies to the Yugoslavian people. I’m afraid Mussolini’s delusions of grandeur and of restoring the Roman Empire have made him irresponsive to reason.

While we are willing to offer material support in the seemingly inevitable event of an Italian invasion, we cannot guarantee that Turkey will join the conflict in any official capacity unless Italy makes an attack against us, as we are currently ill prepared to go to war. We hope you understand these limitations and are willing to accept the aid that we have offered so far. We will engage in preparations for war should the worst case scenario arise.

Best regards,

Venezia Giulia, Italian Albania
The Italian forces were poised for their first assault against Yugoslavia, with the sound of engines roaring and the smell of diesel fuel filling the air. The sun was beginning to rise over the Adriatic, casting an orange and pink hue over the sea as the Italian battleships and warplanes assembled for their attack. In the Albanian mountains, Italian soldiers could be seen climbing up rocky terrain and taking up strategic positions, their helmets glinting in the early morning light. They were heavily armed, carrying rifles, grenades, and ammunition, ready to face any resistance the Yugoslavs might put up.

As the Italians began their assault, the crackle of gunfire echoed across the valleys and the smell of gunpowder filled the air. The Yugoslav defenders put up a fierce fight, but they seemed to initially struggle against Italian troops. In Trieste, Italian tanks and artillery rumbled through the streets, smashing through barricades and rolling over Yugoslav soldiers who attempted to resist. The Italian planes roared overhead, dropping bombs on key targets and strafing enemy positions with machine gun fire. The sounds of explosions and gunfire were deafening, filling the air with a sense of chaos and destruction. Smoke and dust rose up from the streets and mountainsides as the Italians continued their assault with determination and ferocity.

Italy, Rome, Piazza Venezia
Mussolini stepped onto the grand balcony of Palazzo Venezia in Rome, his piercing eyes scanning the massive crowds below. The excitement in the air was palpable - the Italian people had been eagerly anticipating this moment. In his trademark black uniform, adorned with medals and regalia, Mussolini looked every bit the confident and powerful leader that he was. The crowd hushed as he raised his hand, and his voice boomed across the square. "My fellow Italians," he began, his voice ringing out with authority. "Today, we stand on the cusp of greatness. Today, we shall regain the territories lost in the great war"

The crowd erupted into cheers, waving Italian flags and shouting their approval. Mussolini paused for a moment, basking in the adulation of his people. Then, his voice grew harder, more determined.
"For too long, we have allowed the Yugoslavs to trample on our sovereignty. For too long, we have tolerated their aggression and their insults, and the suffering of our people trapped behind their talons. But no more. Today, we strike back, and we will not stop until we have achieved victory."

The crowd roared again, their enthusiasm reaching a fever pitch. Mussolini continued, his voice rising in intensity.
"We are the descendants of the great Roman Empire, and we will show the world the same strength and determination that made us great. We will not be cowed by the threats of others - we will stand firm and fight for what is rightfully ours."

As Mussolini finished his speech, the crowds erupted into one final, deafening cheer. They knew that their leader had spoken the truth - that Italy was a force to be reckoned with, and, or at least according to the propaganda layered on the walls, that victory was inevitable.

Dear Josip Tito,
I will be short and Frank here. It is clear that you disregard the welfare of your people with your response. Obviously we shall both know what will be coming next, but I warn you, you have severely underestimated the prowess of the Regio Esercito. No mountains shall protect you from Roman Wrath, which the yugoslavs shall be rejoicing before Christmas.
I leave one final message before the inevitable breakdown of diplomatic communications.

The Gears of Fascism shall never stop churning

The first shots fired, and immediately, from Italian Albania, the invasion begun. Yugoslav forces fired back at the Italian with intense dedication. From Bitola, Yugoslav forces quickly mobilized in tanks and began firing into Albania from the West, quickly trying to puncture into the territory that Italian gained from Albania. The tanks quickly began firing at not just soldiers, but buildings, and strategic positions within Albania. The goal was to reach the city of Elbasan and cut off Italian forces from each other.

From the southwest, dozens of Rogožarski IK-3 fighters planes immediately began embarking and provided ground support for forces in Trieste. Off the ports of Pula, various submarine forces and carries began embarking towards Venice, hoping to cause damage to the city and at the very least, provide moral damage to the government of Italy. Tito rubbed his chin. Despite all of this, he knew the war with Italy would be dangerous, especially if Italy had allies. The Yugoslav Army needed to be ready for anything. Tito wasn't going to let his land, his home, his people be under the rule of the brutal fascists. They lost before, and they'll continue to lose again.

He needed to provide a strong front, and so he once again spoke to a crowd in the city of Belgrade, not just to his citizens, but to the world.

"Today, Italy enacted an unjust war against us. Mussolini thinks he will win this war, that his conquest and egomaniacal goals will amount to anything. It will not. As a leader, as a veteran...as a man, I have seen men like him, and they have always fallen. Fascism always loses, in every form. We will liberate the people of Italy, and we will let them choose who they wish, and not suffer under the gaze of the fascists. Every nation must condemn the brutal actions of these fascists, for if they gain more power, they WILL come for you, and they will never stop. To those who seek to ally with Italy, I have one simple message for you. Don't. The fascist government of Italy will fall, just like Rome did.

Freedom will win. The streets run red, but they run red with support of our fellow men, our fellow worker. Thank you, and may we all unite together against this common enemy!"

In Helsinki, the ports are working on destroyers, cruisers, and minelaying ships, as well as submarines, these ships will provide a better blockade than the former blockade, but the ships would not be done for a few months, the battleships were now the Flagships of the Finnish Navy, the Viipuri was still out at sea, travelling at full speed, though she would have to slow down to conserve fuel.
Meanwhile, at the Finnish fortress, the soldiers were gearing up, for the eventual invasion, new Finnish Tanks have appeared at the Fortress, Medium Tanks, but they were different than normal tanks, these tanks were truly designed for winter and early spring, and were always at a comfortable heat, due to the engine configuration, in the tests, these tanks preformed wonderfully, and were chosen as the main Finnish Medium tank.

Republic of China

Chinese Second United Front (Kuomintang)

The emergency broadcast from Japan came unexpectedly.

The deaths of Emperor Showa and Prime Minister Hirota Kiki have apparently thrown the government into enough disarray to allow for the return of the shogunate to Japan. The Second United Front watched with both curiosity and concern as a new Japanese shogun took the reins of power.

Yamamoto was a military man, which likely meant that the Japanese Armed Forces would have a stronger influence over Japanese society. The SUF assumed that a military government would soon take command over the Empire.

For the past few weeks, things have been relatively quiet for the Chinese, with only sporadic clashes along the Korean border and at Port Arthur. The emergency broadcast made it clear that the brief peace was about to come to an end. With Yamamoto at the helm, total war could and likely would come to the Far East.

There was possibly a silver lining to this political upheaval. From what Kai-Shek understood, Yamamoto did not have total hatred for the Chinese, as it was assumed many in the upper levels of Japanese leadership did. From what he understood, Yamamoto did not give fanatical support for the invasion of Manchuria or the invasion of Mainland China. This meant that Yamato could perhaps be someone Kai-Shek could have a political relationship with. That is, if Yamato’s militarism and quest for vengeance didn’t get in the way.

Chiang Kai-shek looked at the offer from Japan with interest. A chance for China to exit the turmoil currently engulfing the planet. However, Kai-Shek knew that unilaterally accepting Japan's offer would cause the United Front to collapse. Mao would never agree to accept. The Chinese Civil War would pick up right where it left off and plunge the country into internal chaos once more.

Kai-Shek would need to either convince Mao or remove him.

If this had been just two years ago, the nationalists would have been confident in their victory over the CCP. This complete confidence was no longer present. The creation of the SUF meant the communists were given free reign to travel the country to help the war effort. Many communist officers took part in the training and recruitment of millions of Chinese men and women. Thanks to this involvement, the CCP was able to spread its ideals across the whole of China. Many within the National Revolutionary Army were now communist sympathizers, if not outright communists themselves.

No nation had reached out to the Kuomintang to offer aid, but communist countries like the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia had assisted the CCP. The people took note of this.

Though the nationalists had their reservations about communists, they could not deny the fact that if it weren’t for the timely arrival of Soviet armaments and reinforcements, the war would have gone differently. Without that aid, the Japanese would have likely broken through and swept across China. Due to the size of the country, the Japanese may still have withdrawn, but only after millions upon millions had perished. A scenario that the Chinese people are becoming more and more aware of.

Chaing Kai-Shek sent a letter to Yamamoto and Japan. He expressed his condolences to the Japanese people for the great loss to their culture. He invoked the memory of the Christmas truces from World War 1. Even though war still existed between their two states, it was important to reach out across the divide. That it may show the next generations that bitter enemies may one day pave the way for peace.

He was careful not to hint one way or the other about whether China would accept Japan’s proposal.

Republic of China

Chinese Second United Front (CCP)

For obvious reasons, the CCP shed no tears for the death of the Emperor. The communists saw the demise of a monarchist and imperial symbol as nothing but a net positive. Perhaps if there existed any revolutionaries in Japan, they would rise up now that the Emperor’s boot was off their necks.

Mao Zedong listened to the broadcast from Japan with contempt. As if Mao and the CCP would turn their backs on their Soviet brethren. If they had learned anything from the past year, it was that communists had to stick together if any of them were going to survive the decade.

The CCP saw the Soviet Union as their strongest ally. Though they considered the people of the Andes Union, Canada, and Yugoslavia their brothers and sisters in socialism, it was the Soviets that had the ability to supply and reinforce the Chinese directly.

Just by looking at a map, it was clear that China and the Soviet Union formed a bloc that covered much of Asia and Europe. This was important for so many reasons.

Reports of mass troop movements in Russia’s neighbors showed that Europe was bearing down on the Soviet Union. The United States has already bombed and invaded Communist Canada and the Andean Union. Now it seems Italy has gone to war with Yugoslavia. All these instances made it clear that the capitalist world and the communist world could not coexist. A socialist country on its own will always have the specter of imperialism and war bearing down on it.

The Chinese people did not forget that when their cries were broadcast around the world, no one came to their defense. Not one country that supposedly held freedom and democracy as core values came to their rescue. The only support they received was from the communists in the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia. Something the CCP made sure to heavily propagandize. CCP officers reminded every new recruit of the National Revolutionary Army when they put rifles in their hands. When they arrived at the front, it was not western nations helping to defend their homeland. It was the Soviets.

Thousands of Chinese and Soviet soldiers fought, bled, and died side by side defending China. Something the Chinese people wouldn’t forget easily.

If the Soviet Union fell, a communist China would be all alone. Capitalist and western armies would be crawling through the ruins of Russia with their eyes looking greedily towards China.

Mao was driven to help his communist allies, especially in Europe, where if they fell, China would soon be next. He just has to figure out a way to do so.

Some good news?

Postby Niran » Fri Apr 28, 2023 8:21 am

As the FGU has become less focused on war it has begun to have a little fun. Recently it has hit headlines that a soccer league between Germany and all the other FGU territories had been formed. With over 35 teams in total the FGU superstars league is born.

10 teams from Germany
10 teams from egypt
10 teams from Angola
4 teams from Greenland
1 team from Iceland

It has become a common past time to see the FGU superstars league every Friday and Saturday. They are also the only exception to the mask rule as athletes in the FGU are not legally required to wear them. This is because in the in the order of the flame's early days during their migration in Greece, they played the Olympics without masks to fit in with the locals, so grand athletes do not have to wear masks.

The Italian navy was out in full force in the Adriatic Sea, determined to assert their dominance and secure their territory. The Italian vessels patrolled the waters, with sailors on high alert, scanning the horizon for any signs of enemy movement. The sound of waves crashing against the hulls of the ships echoed across the sea as they sailed through the blue waters, ready to engage any Yugoslavian ships that dared to enter their territory.

Meanwhile, on land, the Italian army was on the march, determined to conquer Yugoslavian territory. The soldiers, well-equipped and well-trained, marched with determination and resolve, their tanks and artillery leading the way. They met fierce resistance from the Yugoslavian troops, but the Italians' superior firepower gave them the upper hand. Explosions and gunfire punctuated the air as the two sides clashed, with each side determined to emerge victorious.

As the Italian military advanced, they encountered Yugoslavian cities and towns along the way. The Yugoslavian navy attempted to provide support from the coast, but the Italian navy was quick to intercept and neutralize any threats. The sounds of the battle echoed across the Adriatic, with the thunderous roar of the Italian navy's guns mixing with the cacophony of screams and shouts from the land battles.

In the midst of the invasion, Mussolini sent a letter to Hungary, inviting them to join in on the spoils of war. He promised a share of the territory they conquered, and Hungary eagerly accepted the offer. Mussolini saw this as an opportunity to gain a valuable ally in the region and further expand Italy's influence.

The Italian military continued to push forward, taking control of key Yugoslavian cities and strategic points. The Yugoslavian forces fought with all their might, but the Italian forces were relentless. The war was far from over, but the Italian forces were making significant progress, inching closer to their goal with each passing day.

Mussolini's boldness and aggression had put Italy on the path to victory, but at a great cost to both sides. The Italian army had shown its strength, but the scars of the battles would be felt for years to come. The Adriatic and west Balkans was now a battleground, with the fate of the region hanging in the balance.

Utilizing the Yugoslavian air force, whilst the Yugoslav navy was dealing with the Italian army, various bombers began doing bombing campaigns on the Italian navy, providing air support. Fighter airplanes were sent to help the ground forces of the Yugoslav army, firing at various Italian army groups and battle tanks. The Yugoslav forces in Trieste were struggling, so whilst the focus was on Italy gaining ground form the Northwest, Tito made a quick battle plan.

Multiple army forces from Peje and Prizren began mobilizing, attacking Italian controlled Albania from the North, beginning to encircle the small controlled nation from multiple fronts. Whilst the Italian army was a force to be reckoned with, Tito used the mass mobilization and multiple forces to his advantage. Yugoslavia was large territory, especially with Bulgaria joining the nation. They also had much more knowledge of the battlefield they were fighting on, so they began utilizing their land knowledge to their advantage. As Italian forces began continuing, Tito decided to spread the Navy and Air Force throughout the ocean, firing at multiple Italian navy forces and cities.

Italy was spread out, but it couldn't give the same sort of protection for all of its port and coastal cities. While various Navy forces were fighting in the Adriatic sea, Tito began sending out various fighter planes and Navy carries to areas that were not as well organized.

Yugoslavia may had not as much military might as Italy, but they had much forces, and their economic neutrality amongst capitalist and communist nations helped them out during the war. They could reasonably gain manpower from either types of nations without much difficulty. Unlike the Soviet Union, they weren't completely closed off from every single capitalist nation, and it helped the fact that Tito made sure to contact the United States before the war broke out. Now it was just a matter of time and how Tito could utilize Italy's weaknesses to their advantage. Yugoslavia may have lost a little bit of territory, but Yugoslavia wasn't willing to go down lightly.

With a glass of palinka in hand Miklos Horthy savored the drink oh so slowly. Of course any man in his position should be of the mind to worry of the new conflict on his borders, however he found it more prudent to react with patience. He considered Italy and Yugoslavia's current predicament both fighting with absolute gusto, yet one had greater fractures. Smirking he looked over the map of the Balkans with delight, "So ready for war yet so unprepared for unity." Taking one last drink from his glass, he then prepared the Külügyi Hivatal for its telegram dispatches.

From: Külügyi Hivatal

Dear Esteemed Il Duce,
In light of your offer to enjoy the spoils of war we readily accept, however we implore you to keep fighting for a month without assistance due to the mobilization of our military and other forces. We aim to have partisan groups to rebel against the Yugoslavs and disperse their forces for the goal of dividing and conquering.

Hungary intends to supply the Yugoslav Partisans known as the Black Chetniks as well as the Bulgarian Partisans known as the Black Bulgars. The movement in Yugoslavia will naturally draw military coherence from offensive operations making way for Italian offensives, in the event Italians connect with the Black Chetniks they will be given support as their leader Kosta Pećanac has been instructed to do so any collaboration after that point will be left to your government. Meanwhile the Black Bulgars under Ivan Kozarev will be resistant to the Yugoslav forces in Bulgaria leaving them in disarray. In the meantime Hungary will lead an offensive into Yugoslavia under the cover of night after the insurgent operations begin, naturally being a surprise due to our unkown alliance. Subsequently Hungary will make an effort to link up with the Black Bulgars and support them conquering the area then moving towards Albania to help with the invasion.

Hungary has further plans in regards to both Partisan groups however that will be discussed when Miklos Horthy and Benito Mussolini are able to meet.

Please consider our requests in a manner that suit your availability. We await of mind that your response is under the duress of military movement into Yugoslavia.

Sincerely, Külügyi Hivatal

The Finnish Army had been preparing for the invasion of Russia for a while now, but there is a problem with the invasion force, they don´t have enough morale to carry out the invasion, but the Generals acted fast, they planned a day of feast for the soldiers to boost their morale.
They were tired of being in the fortress all the time.
And Finland has begun a Soccer League, as the Navy begins to form, they play the Finnish National Anthem as 3 new ships roll off the slipway.

Polish elections coming up soon
The new Polish elections have finally been instated into our legal code, with a unique voting system: People select all candidates they would tolerate as a leader, instead of picking their favourite. While candidates have not been chosen yet, it is interesting to see this develop.
