The Japanese Herald - 7th January, 2021HEADLINE: Japanese Central Bank get's the green light with interest rates!
In surprising news, on the first few days of the new administration, the Japanese government have given the Japanese Central Bank independence over interest rates, in an historic new venture. In a short announcement by the President, in his first since his election victory, said that this is an "historic basis" and "just the start of our new administration". Japan's interest rate has been set by the Treasury since 1983, and is now in the powers of the JCB. In terms of what is to potentially come next, the government want to begin hitting new regulations on banks, before covering domestic issues such as a growing housing crises among many Japanese people.
The Governor also made a following statement, welcoming the new administration to office and has called a "historic day for Japanese banking". However, the move was dominated not by political action or reaction, but of market reaction, with many expecting a red wave in Japanese stock, although it managed to come out well, with 70% of markets seeing positive starts. The banking and financial sector saw large swarths of gains, with market suggestions calling it a positive move. Rates are currently at 0.05%, and have historically been fairly low in the last 2 decades. Under the new independent system, it expected that interest rate increases or decreases will come quicker and more swifter, with a potential increase in the making already due to creeping inflation.

FICO FOUND GUILTY, DEMONSTRATIONS HELD IN BRATISLAVA
Czechoslovakia, Bratislava
Demonstrations were held in Bratislava to express support over the recent trial of notoriously known Róbert Fico, who was found guilty of several crimes. Whilst this did cause chaos in the opposition, it had largely positive feedback as most people are actually happy that the mafia that ruled Czechoslovakia for so long is, at least, partially gone. As fireworks erupt over Czechoslovakia, a new era for our nation begins…

Prime Minister announces increased spending for healthcare, education
Prime Minister Yair Lapid announced today that the government will be increasing spending on healthcare and education. "The key to social mobility is a robust public education and public healthcare system," the Prime Minister said. "Our government aims to rectify the social injustices of past years by focusing more on improving the social services provided to our citizens." The focus of the increased spending will be directed towards hiring more psychologists for schools to ensure the mental welfare of children, providing free laptops for high-school students, hiring more teaching staff, increasing the pay of teachers, hiring more nurses and doctors for the public healthcare system and increasing their wages, and buying more medical equipment.
The major opposition National Liberal Movement has decried those proposals, arguing that they would be fiscally irresponsible and burden taxpayers. "The Prime Minister promises a lot," Venamin Fleischmann - spokesperson for the party - said, "but fails to mention to citizens the financial cost of those promises. Those promises will have to be financed either through increased taxation - thus burdening consumers and businesses at a time when we need more consumption and more investments to escape economic stagnation - or through debt, which will negatively impact our economy and burden our children. What we need is not more government spending but rather less taxes and greater freedom of choice, both in education and healthcare. It is clear that the Prime Minister is a hostage of his radical left-wing coalition partners. We need a government not beholden to socialists but a pro-business government that will promote economic growth and attract foreign investment."

SM Duda focuses on domestic policy and economics in recent press conference
While speaking in a press conference earlier in Warsaw, the State Minister quickly brought the focus of the conference to the upcoming domestic and economic policy packages that the ZBSRP hopes to pass through the Sejm in the coming weeks. These plans were loudly proclaimed and propagated throughout the 2020 Elections and doubtlessly played a part in Duda's re-election and the ZBSRP's retention of it's parlaimentary supermajority.
"It is imperative we kick-start the growth engines of the national economy across the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors and provide a framework for equalized development across the country." The State Minister said. "Poland has a great amount of economic potential waiting to be unleashed and the policies of this government will aim to do just that. It is imperative that our country adopts an aggressive and dynamic series of policies designed to capitalize on Poland's current-day economic advantages to pave the way to a prosperous future for our children. If we do not waste the coming years, Poland can become one of the main growth engines of Europe, we will do our utmost to make this a reality. We are putting together comprehensive policy packages to make Poland a major food supplier for Western Europe, to create over 500 000 jobs in advanced business services, to become a pharmaceutical hub and to salvage and future-proof our struggling Polish mining sector. We shall adopt an accelerated growth policy and take the measures needed to close the remaining productivity-gaps within crucial sectors."
"The budget set forth for this mandate will go down in history as the budget of the family." The SM continued. "An additional 825 million Zlotys will be allocated to the public healthcare system specifically earmarked to improve the quality and availability of maternity care throughout the country. The government will take extensive and comprehensive measures in order to help and support the family, the bedrock that every society is built upon. According to Eurobarometer, in most countries in Europe the number of children that couples intend to have is high enough to avert any sort of drastic population ageing in the foreseeable future. Unfortunately, the actual number of births is lower than the intended one. It seems that the reason why families have so few children is that they face material obstacles to fulfilling their wishes. Thus, we shall proceed to do what we can from the side of the state to help Polish families cope with the challenges they face in the modern world."
In Poland close to 40% of the population live in rural areas, an unusally high percentage when compared to most developed countries. These people are citizens of Poland same as the urban dwellers of our great cities and we will provide rural areas with new investment and growth opportunities, by restoring service points such as previously closed police stations and clinics and launching a number of significant infrastructure projects. In the end, we will make sure to provide new opportunities for people all across the country, especially those who have had issues and trouble finding job stability, I reiterate my administrations full dedication to putting an end to the so-called precariat." Duda said.
Political analysts have recieved Duda's words with mixed response. While some, including many economists are hopeful that new dirigist direction and large scale state investment projects the Duda-administration is allegedly planning to start will serve to improve growth and reduce unemployment while ZPSRP politicians have praised the State Minister's announcement on social media and stated that this shows the party's commitment to "ending the precariat" as outlined in the 2020 election campaign. Others are critical, including some members of the ZPSRP who are skeptical about the increased spending when the situation in Ukraine remains so tense. A sentiment echoed by Sejm delegate Svitlana Onyshchuk of OPRO and a leading member of the Cross-Party Ukrainian Parlaimentary Club.

The Japanese Herald - 13th January, 2021HEADLINE: New "Global Japan" to make huge changes to Japan's economy and global appearance.
In a major announcement to the National Diet, President Miyake announced various sweeping statements in a prolonged, yet fairly impressive opening speech to the diet. In the speech, he introduced Japan's new "revolutionary policy" in Global Japan - announcing various visits to EU countries and Russia, while also using his first Presidential Decree, and it's most powerful yet, in which he revoked the long-standing cap on military spending, Article 12. If it passes a Supreme Court Majority, it will see military spending to go higher than ever before. Miyake said later that he would making the biggest increase of military spending in the last century, a 1.5% increase in military spending. Although many would've thought he was being reckless, he reigned in the thoughts of incompetence, announcing various spending cuts. In what he called the "Global Japan Budget", the President announced his intention to increase Japan's naval count by 30%, to similar levels in the 80's and 90's, and the Armed forces by 20%, hitting similar levels of the late 50's. Military Spending, if all is accepted, will hit 2.5% by the end of March when the law would be enacted.
In the second part of his major statement, he announced that the budget would also attempt to cut Japan's national debt, in which he made an educated prediction it was to hit 270% in the next few weeks. With the budget to enact spending cuts, it seems fairly difficult to note how they would cut national debt, with spending cuts only a part of the growing problem. However, Miyake said he would "reigning in domestic investment" - with various administrations before him having made sweeping and large investments to major Japanese cities. It seems he would look to decrease domestic investment by 50%, or even more if sees it as a major problem.
In terms of the reception, it seemed that most of the National Diet were confident with the new policy shift, with one representative saying he felt the new administration is a "breath of fresh air" in Japanese politics. A poll suggested that 70% of all NDR believed that the new policy will be "good/positive" for Japan in a general way. However, leader of a minor socialist block, who wanted to remain anonymous, said he was "displeased" by the new policy, calling it a "backfired way of trying to make Japan relevant". Various extremist parties have called already for the government to resign, calling their spending cuts "incredibly harmful to Japanese life".
However, in the next few days, we are likely to see the President make major diplomatic visits to various countries, especially to European countries. With the proposition of a free-trade agreement with the EU, it seems this administration are going for a go big or go bust moment, and a new radical foreign policy, historic public spending cuts, new free-trade agreements with EU nations and looking to cut debt - could this be a new change for Japan's administration?
Other Stories:
- Debt cutting will have to be "by significant amount" to make a change, says former Banker.
- Japanese Movie Industry "on the ropes" says major movie boss.
- 4 arrests made in far-right ring bust in Tokyo.
- The far-right - a growing problem or dying breed?

Prime Minister Vows Strengthened Ukrainian Defenses, Calls for Modernization and Aid
Kyiv, January 1st - Amid escalating tensions with the Russian Empire, PM Denys Shmyhal has vowed to strengthen Ukrainian defenses to deter aggression. After a speech by the President to the Verkhovna Rada, PM Shmyhal took the podium to announce his intention to introduce a new spending bill to modernize hundreds of vehicles and other equipment that have fallen into disrepair. In his remarks, the PM also called on the international community to provide military and financial aid to Ukraine, citing "unprecedented threats to Ukrainian security."
Speaking later among top military brass, the PM said that the administration intends to repair and modernize over 100 more T-72 tanks out of storage, as well as Mig-29 aircraft to name a few. Shmyhal also announced that he intended to vastly improve Ukrainian air and naval defenses in the new year, telling reporters the administration was considering purchasing Western systems. He also alluded to the advancement of asymmetric capabilities, noting recent deliveries of Turkish TB-2 drones.
However the PM was quick to reiterate that the administration did not seek any escalation to the fighting, and that it was not planning to use the newly repaired equipment in the Donbas conflict.

Moscow cautions the West over arming Ukraine as a means to threaten Russia. Citing the Kiev Regime's failure to eliminate Nazism within its ranks, especially its military, and over four hundred separate cases with evidence pending in The Hague over Ukrainian formations conducting what was tantamount to ethnic cleansing in at least half the oblasts of Ukraine. Moscow also sent a stern missive to Beijing that such antagonism would not be without repercussions in kind from Russia, and that if need be, it will have to look into its trade with China compared to the defense of the nation. Following this the State Duma issued a missive to the leaders of nations seeking to arm Ukraine:
Over the past seven years we have seen upheaval and social antagonism in Ukraine between Pro-Kiev government and Pro-Russians in the Eastern and Southern regions of the country. The state of the Donbas conflict is a tragedy to all for how it has been going on. Moscow once more asks that the international community hold by the Minsk Protocols and prevent escalation of tensions. The military build-up of Ukraine can only have one truth and it is not for the defense of its nation or the peaceful resolution to the conflict. But a military, aggressive, policy. A policy that Russia will have to protect itself from should this continue. As such Russia urgently pleads for the international community to refrain from military assets being transferred to Ukraine and that the conflict mediation be left between Moscow and Kiev, the guarantors of past agreements.

Officials Sound Alarm Over Russian Alert in Border Oblasts:
Kyiv, January 3rd - After an announcement by Russian government officials of the alert status of Imperial Russian forces in Belarus, Kursk, Belgorod, Rostov, Crimea, and Krasnodar, Ukraine's government has sounded the alarm over the "provocative" move. In a statement appealing to the West and other allies, Ukraine Defense Minister Reznikov called on the international community to support Ukraine diplomatically and with aid, pointing out that Russia's aggressions could not go without repercussions.
While officials have stated that the Russian alert poses no threat to Ukrainian security, and that there would be no change in Ukrainian alert status, some officials have condemned the Russian alert as "unnecessary." Speaking to the press, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba labeled the alert as " disturbing" speculating that "Russia may attempt to fabricate a provocation in order to hamper Ukrainian security." Kuleba urged Russian military leaders to act rationally, noting that Belarus is nowhere near the Donbas and Russian troops there did not need to be placed on alert. In his closing remarks, Kuleba called for calm, calling the Russian move as "fearmongering," telling the public that "the chances of conflict remain close to none." When asked by reporters about the chances of talks between the Russian Empire, Kuleba stated that Ukraine was "more than willing" to enter talks immediately, but noted that several factors hamper the quick return to normal relations.
When making a regular address on television, President Zelenskyy responded to recent Russian claims about the Donbas conflict, urging a peaceful settlement: "The ball is in Russia's court. If they cease sending arms and ammunition to the Donbas terrorists, active fighting will stop. We do not fire first." He went on to warn that if artillery barrages continued from Donbas separatists, "Ukraine may have no choice but to eliminate terrorist munition dumps and artillery batteries."
Defense Ministry Announces Plans to Up Kyiv Air Defenses:
Kyiv, January 4th - As concern grows regarding the Russian Empire's threats to intervene in the Donbas conflict, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has announced a new plan to completely protect Kyiv from an air attack. In a statement, the Minister of Defense stated that Kyiv would soon be protected by four S-300 regiments spread out in each quadrant of Kyiv, reportedly aimed at preventing missiles or aircraft from attacking the capital city. In his statement, Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said the systems would be deployed alongside other air defense systems as well as numerous decoys, making Kyiv's airspace "impenetrable." Reznikov was quick to point out that the Ukrainian government did not believe that a Russian or proxy attack was imminent, noting that the chances of such were "very low." Reznikov instead suggested that the new deployment was for deterrence, saying, "We do not believe any country or group will attempt to attack Ukrainian airspace anytime soon. But we do not want to leave the separatists or the Russian Empire any room for miscalculation. This is a demonstration of our strength and our resolve to defend our territory and airspace. If any aggressor attacks Kyiv, they will be shot down."
According to military experts, the four S-300 regiments possess four S-300 systems each, meaning in total they comprise of over 192 separate launchers. While some pro-Russian channels on the popular Telegram social media site were quick to cast doubt on the operability of the systems, one Ukrainian expert told the Kyiv Post that theoretically, the sixteen systems combined could track and shoot down over 750 missiles headed towards Kyiv at the same time. The same expert added that the systems would not be alone, with reports indicating four Tor SAMs will protect the S-300 regiments, in addition to two of the previously donated Flakpanzer Gepards.
While the announcement has been met with criticism by some, which have slammed the government for protecting itself very heavily but lacking defenses elsewhere, the announcement was met with widespread approval from most Ukrainians. Some people interviewed said it was a positive development towards the security of Ukraine, with Kyiv residents saying they felt more safe. One military commentator said the move would prevent a decapitation strike, or at the very least significantly complicate any attempt.
The move by the government appears to be part of the effort to ensure Ukraine's air security, given the superior air force operated by the Russian Empire. According to the Ministry of Defense, the announcement does not mark a change in alert or status quo, and the ministry stated that more changes to air defenses would be underway as part of a new defensive strategy.

MIXED FEELINGS ABOUT FICO’S TRIAL RESULT IN VIOLENT PROTESTS, POLICE CALLED IN
The nation is being swept by protests organized by the Smer-SD and HLAS-ANO(H-A) opposition. Demanding that the case of Róbert Fico will be reviewed. Even though Smer and the H-A have split after their loss in 2020, they have since found common ground again after Fico was sentenced to 50 years in prison. These protests were met with fierce counter-demonstrations from the side of government supporters, as violent clashes have been reported in Trnava, Brno and many more cities. As such, police units have been deployed to keep calm. However, in a small amount of cases, the police has actually taken side(mostly pro-government), participating in the violence. Prime Minister Fiala has called for peace:
“I do not wish for violence. Whilst I do, personally, agree with the sentence Mr. Fico has gotten, I am horrified by the events that were happening all across the nation. I condemn both sides. The opposition for organizing and supporting violence, pro-government demonstrators and the police for being so reckless. I plead for internal stability of our nation.”
The same has been heard from Miss President:
“The events that happened in my beloved Slovak homeland truly disgust me. As Mr. Fiala stated, I, as well, condemn both sides for violence.”
Andrej Babiš, leader of the H-A opposition, has stated in response:
“This mockery from the side of the government is almost hilarious - they condemn the very protesters that fight for their cause? I support my people. I fight for total democracy and the end of EU, NATO and Liberal-Fascist dictatorship.” The Far-Right and the Slovak Autonomists have not yet responded, as Czechoslovakia is truly in chaos.

Chinese response to unwarranted Russian Aggression![/b
The imperialists in the Russian State Duma has accused the Chinese government of antagonism towards Russia, but what is their evidence? They have no evidence, just as they have no evidence of Ukrainian war crimes committed in the Donbas region. They warn against foreign intervention and aid to Ukraine, but what have they done to end the conflict in Ukraine and bring peace to that region of the world? Nothing! They continue to slander Ukraine's image to the international community and they continue to fund and support rebel groups in eastern Ukraine.
It is clear that Russia and its imperialist agenda do not respect national sovereignty and believe that they can act in any way they want. They are bullies, wishing to restore their vaunted "empire" and to dominate their neighbors, militarily, economically, or politically. This is clear when you view their current and past actions. In 2014 the Russians invaded Crimea, annexing it despite it being an integral part of Ukraine what was their justification for their annexation? They claim it was a referendum held by the citizens of Crimea but the Chinese people and international community all know that it was because Russia, like all bullies, can not tolerate their victim fighting back! They could not accept that the Ukrainian people have decided that they no longer want to be Russia's punching bag and they wish to find their path to the future!
China applauded Ukraine when it threw off the shackles that tied them to Russia back in 2014 and it will continue to lend its support to Ukraine even if the rest of the international community does not wish to lend support to Ukraine. China shall stand alongside their Ukrainian brothers and sisters and say no to the imperialist agenda of Russia. The Standing Committee has offered the Ukrainian government training by Chinese soldiers and Chinese advisers if they wish for it. Furthermore, in reaponse to unwarranted Russian aggression and accusations, the Standing Committee has authorized an exercise to be held in Heilongjiang province and has invited Ukraine to participate if they wish.

To Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba,
We hope that you also had a wonderful new year. While the situation in Ukraine saddens me and all of China, we are happy to see another country is willing to stand up against Russian bullying and say no. On that note, the Ministry of National Defense has been permitted by the Central Military Commission to oversee the sale of requested equipment. Furthermore, the Ministry of National Defense has also been permitted by the Central Military Commission to authorize the sale of Chinese aircraft and tanks at a reduced price.
We have also been authorized by the Central Military Commission to allow for severely reduced fees for Chinese aid in the repair and modernization of current Ukrainian equipment. We will also like to inform our Ukrainian counterparts that modernization efforts may take some time as we do not currently produce any parts that are compatible with current Ukrainian equipment. We hope that these offers are acceptable to Ukraine and will deter future Russian aggression against your nation.
Best wishes,
General Wei Fenghe

Our two nations are similar in the fact that we both are dealing with unjustified Russian aggression. The Standing Committee has always sympathized with Ukraine and wishes to offer its aid. We suggest a mutual sharing of information between the Ministry of State Security and the Security Service of Ukraine concerning Russia. Furthermore, we will offer training and equipment to members of the Security Service of Ukraine if your government is willing to accept this proposal

At the Bundestag
January 8th, 2021
Chancellor Friedrich Merz's limo arrives in front of the Bundestag where the Chancellor will speak on what bills he wishes for the Bundestag to pass this year and what path will take under his new leadership. Friedrich exits his limo with his security waiting for him and they walk up the steps of the Bundestag building before entering said building. The entourage walks down a series of hallways before arriving at the closed doors to the Bundestag Chambers. One of Freidrich's aides made sure his suite didn't have any wrinkles and his red tie was straight which seems to be the case. The aide whispers into the Chancellor's ear, "Good look Herr Chancellor." Friedrich nods, takes a deep breathe and exhales then he enters the chambers to a resounding applause. Friedrich walks up the center aisle shaking the hands of his fellow party members and those of the Opposition.
Friedrich steps in front of the podium eyeing every member of the Bundestag along with members of the German and International media before speaking in a light German accented English which was immediately translated into other languages for those who didn't understand English, "Greetings to my fellow Germans and people of the world. Today I stand in front of the Bundestag or in English the German Parliament to tell you what bills I wish this esteemed body would pass in the coming year. The first bill I wish to be passed is an incentives package aimed at the nuclear power sector and the fossil fuel sector. While green energy is the future of the German energy sector, the technology as it stands today isn't sufficient enough for our growing energy needs. The main focus of the fossil fuel side of this bill is the natural gas sector which is the cleanest of all the fossil fuels. Many of you in this chamber and around the world will protest this move saying that it will make climate change worse but while climate change does exist, I believe it is not as bad as everyone says it is. While the ice caps are indeed melting, the Earth has gone without ice caps throughout most of its history."
"The second bill I wish for this body to pass is a bill expanding the German military with the main focus being an expansion of our armored forces, air defenses, navy and missile technology. This expansion will indeed take several years to happen but will help in the long run as we face the growing Russian menace to our east. Like the previous government, I will reiterate to the Russian government that the annexation of Crimea is illegal and as such German government refuses to recognize any referendum on joining the Russian Empire. I will let it be known that Germany stands with the Ukrainian government and the Ukrainian people in their opposition to Russian tyranny. The third bill I want passed is a military aid package to Ukraine. With this aid, Ukraine can properly defend itself with the latest in German weaponry. The details of this bill will hammered out between my administration, the leadership in the Bundestag and the Ukrainian government and will be released within the few months." He walks away from the podium and exits the chamber then the building.

German Government alarmed by Russian mobilization on Ukrainian border
Berlin- Chancellor Friedrich Merz and his administration are alarmed at the Russia's mobilization of troops to the Russo-Ukrainian border. The Chancellor has stated that this is a very provocative move on the part of Russia and says that any Ukrainian mobilization would be considered justified by his government. Like Ukraine, there will be no chance in the alert status for the German military but Germany will be watching the situation very closely.
Chancellor Merz reiterated that Germany stands with Ukraine and views Russian annexation of Crimea as illegal and a violation of international law.
Chancellor introduces bills to expand German military, energy sector
In a short speech in front of the Bundestag, Chancellor Merz introduces 2 bills to be debated and voted on. The first bill seeks to build new nuclear and natural gas power plants. When asked about the bill and its implications on the environment, the Chancellor stated that until green energy technology is as reliable as fossil fuels then nuclear power and natural gas is what Germany will be using for the foreseeable future. The second bill seeks to expand the German military with the main focuses being armored vehicles, navy, air defense systems and fifth gen fighters. While many in Europe and around the world will fear a powerful Germany, the German government let everyone know that the German military is there to protect the territorial integrity of Germany and Germany's allies in NATO and the EU.

Prime Minister calls for calm, negotiations
Prime Minister Yair Lapid has called for calm to prevail in the current crisis between Russia and Ukraine. "We all need to be level-headed and avoid a conflict that would be devastating," the Prime Minister said. "Both sides should come to the negotiating table and resolve their differences in a civilized manner. A war would not only cause untold deaths and financial damage, but it could also risk famine in regions dependent on Ukrainian wheat exports. This is something that must be avoided." The Prime Minister also stated that the international community should be prepared to make use of financial sanctions against Russia if necessary to avoid conflict. The Japanese Herald - 17th January, 2021HEADLINE: Japan take the hard stance on China, with tariffs and deployments included in historic moment.
It was an unexpected announcement by Japan's new President, but already just a few weeks into the job, and he makes a jaw-dropping statement. In what was called an emergency media conference, President Miyake announced a radical change in Japan's policy on China, in what for the last 15 years has been a fairly warm and neutral policy of the country, with cuts in trade barriers over the last 15 years having been seen a good progress, the new administration look to end Chinese Appeasement, and in the words of the President himself, "Not reliant on their communist ideals, but reliant on economic competence". With this massive U-turn in policy, some have suggested that the administration could be the first in Japanese Modern history to "take it to China".
The speech stated very early that his government had reported "military spending hikes and the continued anti-Japanese policy" - although there was some confusion to this - nevertheless, it was what followed which hit the cameras and those watching shocked. A 5% VAT in Chinese goods would be implemented with immediate effect, the first establishment of tariffs on Chinese goods since the 1920's. In what some are considering a massive economic gamble, with some media outlets suggesting this could have massive global effects, others calling it a masterstroke of diplomacy, it seems it's a gamble, nonetheless. Not only where there to be the creation of military drills, with it being called Operation Tito. This is once more very historic, as it seems Japan is now looking to end reliance with China and look elsewhere.
The latter stages of the speech spoke of more international concerns, of the ending of economic reliance on China, with some calling Japan to try and do a similar take on loans and grants to struggling Asian economies. Despite Miyake looking to solve "domestic issues first" - it seems his stance on Japan was too much to keep in, and now looks to be a big gamble. However, not only is it being deemed an economic gamble, but some are suggesting it as a diplomatic gamble - whether support would come from Russia and other historic allies is in question - but what isn't in question is that this administration isn't messing about and will go big or go home. In his closing sentence, Miyake stated that ending economic reliance on China is "just the first step".
Could this be the start of the Sino-Japanese Trade War?

HM the King urges de-escalation in Ukraine while government sends ambiguous signals
"It is my hope that common sense prevails. The Tzarina must rein in the warhawks in the Kremlin and President Zelensky may have to come to terms with certain concessions in the interest of continued peace." King Jan VI wrote in an opinion piece published in the Rzeczpospolita newspaper. He goes on to speak about the historic ties between both Russia and Ukraine and for both nations to recognize the deep interconnection between the two communities. "Every Russian family has Ukrainian acquaintances and friends, every Ukrainian family has Russian kin. An escalation of the frozen conflict in the Donbass would tear countless families and friendships apart. Both sides need to be ready to respect the ceasefire just as they need to be ready to look past the bloody ambitions of nationalist radicals, hardliners and warhawks."
"A war in Ukraine would destabilize the global economic situation even further, even as the world is dealing with destabilization in the Americas and threated famine in the Global South. I urge the Tzarina and the President to let good sense prevail." The King finished.
Meanwhile the government of the Duda Administration remains ambiguous in it's stance towards Ukraine. Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski, as well as the State Minister himself have repeatedly said that "Poland stands with the Ukrainian people." What this means in practice however is unclear. Poland has earlier sent medical supplies and non-lethal military aid in the form of unarmed IMV's and trucks as well as other equipment such as body armor, helmets and optics all the way down to flares but no weapons and no ammunition. As tensions seem to be rising, government officials including the Minister of Defense Mariusz Blaszczak has released a short statement that the "Royal Armed Forces of the Kingdom of Poland are closely monitoring the situation on the border". While several members of the Cross-Party Ukrainian Parlaimentary Club expressed concern and stated they will be working to increase Polish aid to Ukraine should it become necessary as well as promoting arms sales to the country and a joint program of arms development the Club long promoted.
The government focused primarily on passing several reform packages drawn up by the administration the first batch focusing on rural area economics and infrastructure while signaling openness to talks with Russia over bilateral relations between the two in the wake of statements issued by Russian President Putin.
Policymakers at WorkMining, especially coal mining but also copper and silver present one of the sectors with the largest productivity-gaps when compared to Western nations at a staggering 62%. Coal mining has been one of Poland's major export industries since the Interwar Era and measures should be taken to improve it's profitability and future viability not only as a potential profit cluster but also in terms of emergency energy security. With the reforms introduced as part of this policy package it is the hope of the government that Polish coal mining, alongside Polish mining in general is given a good chance to grow into a stable, profitable and innovative sector of the national economy. Analyses indicate that several concerted actions can serve to turn the sector around as today, more than a dozen Polish coal mines are in danger of bankruptcy. The government hopes that if applied systematically, the following actions will result in significant growth and double-digit productivity improvements in Poland's mining sector.
* Active Measures.
- Abandon geological areas that cannot be made economically viable by operational improvements.
- Eliminate regulatory barriers that increase effective operation costs and reduce labor productivity while not improving safety or working conditions for employees.
- Set up a 2 billion Zloty Mining Fund, providing low-interest loans to provide the means and financial incentives to apply process improvements, standardize procedures and enable continuous improvement in equipment availability and effectiveness, labor productivity, energy and utility efficiency, and safety standards.
- Develop Katowice as a global hub for underground operations and technologies such as smart mines. Poland is well-positioned to be a leading nation in mining innovation combining a highly skilled and cost-effective engineering workforce with local underground expertise. These measures will only increase in importance over time as global mineral reserves from readily available open-pit mines are depleted and this expertise could become a significant Polish export service in the future.

The bill is passed.Would Poland be in the EU it would rank fourth in terms of viable arable land after France, Spain and Germany. Currently approximately 200 million EU citizens live within 1000 kilometers from the Polish border, providing Polish farmers and food processing companies a large and dynamic market to take advantage of. In order to tap into the revenue from this potential market, Polish farms must close the productivity gap when compared to the West. Growing urbanization in Western Europe has made Poland with it's large agricultural land areas a prime candidate as a food supplier for Western EU nations. The agricultural sector has great potential but is marred by deep structural inefficiency. It contributes to only about 2% of national GDP but employs over 11% of the total workforce. To make Poland a sound base for a profitable and dynamic food industry hub the sector needs transformation in the following fields to increase productivity and growth. Increased dynamism in agriculture would bring more wealth into the hands of Poland's rural population, numbering at 40% of the population and encourage spending. Poland is uniquely positioned to become a major food supplier as tensions rise between Russia and Ukraine and numerous Polish food-processing companies have invested in modern production-line infrastructure, especially in dairy, meat, frozen foods and beverages, setting an example for others to follow, a change the government hopes to support with the following reform package.
* Active Measures.
- Increasing through consolidation the size of the average family-owned farm which in Poland is at around 10 hectares while those in Western Europe are around 50 hectares. In order to encourage co-operative farming, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development shall make a number of cooperative frameworks available for farmers so they can choose which suits them and their situation best while encouraging consolidation of farmland and allowing farmers to pool capital, labor and diverse skills to raise their profits. This will not only spread out the costs but also increase adaptability and resilience. These organizations shall be eligible to apply for the financial incentives, assistance programs and support measures for cooperative farms outlined in the Agriculture and Food Processing Revitalization Bill. The types of cooperatives recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development shall be the following.
*-- Joint Cooperative Farming Society
In the framework of the the Joint Cooperative Farming Society, the member-farms will be on the highest level of integration. Members will pool their land and their productive assets and shall carry on all the pre-
sowing and post-harvesting functions alongside the cultivation of the pooled land on a cooperative basis. The Joint Cooperative Farming Society purchases various inputs from the market and arranges for the joint
marketing and sale of the products it produces. Joint Cooperative Farming Societies shall be able to apply for grants to help with, among other things, the purchase of seeds, fertilizer, new machinery, to support
the implementation of new technologies such as Precision Farming technologies, and aid with subsidies for fuel in order to power agricultural machinery.
*-- Cooperative Better Farming Society
In the framework of the Cooperative Better Farming Society, the member-farms shall be on a medium level of integration. Cooperative Better Farming Society members are not required to cultivate their land jointly,
instead, each member cultivates their own land. However, they shall cooperate with each other on pre-sowing and post-harvesting work. For example, they shall purchase inputs such as seeds, fertilizers,
insecticides and maintenance service of agricultural machines etc on a cooperative basis. They shall market and sell their crops jointly. On signing the document officiating the formation of the Cooperative Better
Farming Society the members all agree to how many percent of the incomes and expenditures they shall share in. The Cooperative Better Farming Society shall be able to apply for grants to help with, among other
things, the purchase seeds, fertilizer, new machinery, to support the implementation of new technologies such as Precision Farming technologies, and aid with subsidies for fuel in order to power agricultural
machinery.
*-- Cooperative Tenant Farming Society
Within the framework of the Cooperative Tenant Farming Society, the Society buys or leases land form the state or from private individuals and then in turn leases land to the member-farms. The members all
cultivate the land they rent individually and pay the rent falling on their share to the Cooperative Tenant Farming Society. The society renders various services to member-farms such as providing machine
maintenance and is payed by the tenants for this service. The profits earned by the society from the products cultivated on the land that it leases shall then be distributed among the members according to the
formula agreed on in the leasing contract. The Cooperative Tenant Farming Society shall be able to apply for grants to help with, among other things, the purchase seeds, fertilizer, new machinery, to support the
implementation of new technologies such as Precision Farming technologies, and aid with subsidies for fuel in order to power agricultural machinery.
- Intitialize the DobrostanPlus Program, offering financial incentives to farmers who take measures to improve the welfare and conditions of animals on their farms by avoiding overcrowding, taking measures to find local suppliers of organically produced feed and local butcheries no more than 50 kilometers away to minimize animal transport time and emissions while offering more locally sourced and eco-friendly foodstuffs to local markets and benefiting local agricultural and food-processing industries. Both individual farms and cooperatives shall be eligible for DobrostanPlus support funds.
*-- The farmers who fulfill the requirements below shall be given yearly support payout of minimum 100 Zlotys per pig and 500 Zlotys per cow yearly.
*-- Animals will be kept in a non-congested manner with each animal having more than the minimum standard of required room per head which we hope will significantly aid small family-owned farms.
*-- The farms eligible shall keep a number of animals corresponding to the area of their farm and size of holding facilities in order to increase animal welfare by avoiding congestion. Additional support will be given to farms that feed their animals with feed produced on the farm/coop itself to reduce CO2 emissions released during transport of said feed.
*-- To be eligible, farmers shall not use GMO feed in order to feed their animals. Poland has no internal GMO feed production and so it would both support local agriculture and reduce transport-related emissions.
*-- To be eligible, farmers shall keep pigs on litter bedding in the holding facility and cows shall be allowed to graze outside at least four months per year.
*-- To raise their yearly financial support, farmers shall procure feed from suppliers to more than 50 kilometers away and sell their animals for slaughter to processors no more than 50 kilometers away.
- Create a disaster relief fund to help support farmers in need who lose crops and income due to drought, excessive rains, flooding and other natural factors.
- Legal barriers shall be put in place in order to prevent Polish farmland from becoming the easy target of land speculation funded by foreign capital. This shall be in order to make farmland cheaper and more accessible to local farmers.
- Seek opportunities to consolidate food processing industries to gain much needed scale, including the adoption of a cooperative business model for fragmented producers.
- Increase food product complexity and move up the value chain, for instance by increasing focus on organic produce and products for specialized diets popular in the West.
- Build the strength of Polish brands, preferably with help from Western European retailers with special focus on categories such as poultry, pork and dairy where Poland has a strong position in the international market.
- Encourage further investment in intellectual property as well as R&D in such areas as conservation, filtering, and packaging innovations in order to promote technological development and encourage closer cooperation between academia and the agricultural sector.

The bill is passed.Approximately 40% of the Polish population lives in rural areas and they are just as important to Poland's social fabric as the people living in larger towns and cities, and have just as much of a right to new opportunities in their local areas and just as much attention from the state as any other citizen. Thus the state shall serve to better the quality of life in the rural countryside, home to so many of our countrymen. The countryside has historically been and remains a place where Poland's cultural traditions and sense of patriotism remain especially strong and prevalent. Thus, the rich heritage of Poland's rural communities must be supported, cared for and cultivated. Is the hope of the government that targeted efforts in conjunction with the reform package known as the Agriculture and Food Processing Revitalization Bill signed earlier will serve as a catalyst for greater economic activity, more access to opportunities in local communities and a rise in well-being for rural residents.
* Active Measures.
- Create a 3 billion Zloty small town loan fund from the Central Bank where local municipalities can apply to for fixed low-interest loans in order to promote local business and local cultural activities. Municipal authorities in gminas/powiats with 25 000 inhabitants or fewer will be able to apply for loans from said fund.
- Allocate 3 billion Zlotys in fixed-interest loans to local governments on the Gmina and Powiat level from the Central Bank in order to facilitate the expansion of local road networks as well as improving the level of quality and maintenance on existing local roads.
- Allocate 1 billion Zlotys in fixed-interest loans to local governments on the Gmina and Powiat level from the Central Bank in order to facilitate the construction of new bridges as well as improving the level of quality and maintenance on existing bridges.
- Hire a total of 2500 Police officers and support staff in order to re-open 200 formerly closed rural area police stations.
- Allocate 875 million Zlotys to re-open previously closed rural area bus-lines interlinking rural villages, allowing primarily youths and retirees access to easier travel in their local areas.
- Allocate 400 million Zlotys to the Bieszczady regional investment fund to stimulate business and local cultural activity.
- Allocate 400 million Zlotys to the Tatra regional investment fund to stimulate business and local cultural activity.
- Allocate 275 million Zlotys to the Hutsulian regional investment fund to stimulate business and local cultural activity.

President Zelenskyy Applauds Chinese Support of Ukraine:
Kyiv, January 5th - After Chinese support following recent Russian hostility towards both Ukraine and China, President Zelenskyy has applauded Chinese efforts in a recent address to the nation. Praising China for its "frequent support of freedom in Ukraine and across the world," Zelenskyy told watchers that the Sino-Ukrainian relationships was "stronger than ever." Cautioning Moscow and its allies against a provocation, Zelenskyy vowed that Ukraine and China would present a united front against imperialism and unwarranted aggression.
Addressing a Chinese offer to participate in military exercises in Heilongjiang province, President Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine would be deploying a "classified" number of operators from the elite Alpha Spetsnaz Group, as well as a single company from the 15th Mountain Infantry Battalion, 128th Mountain Brigade to participate. Zelenskyy noted while a meager contribution, the exercises would "go a long way to increase Sino-Ukrainian interoperability and relations." Zelenskyy also noted that the participation in the exercises showed the two countries' unity in the face of Russian aggression. The President also mused that exercises could potentially provide China with insight into Russian weapons and tactics, telling watchers, "Nearly every single Ukrainian participant in these exercises is a combat veteran of the Donbas or Crimean front, who is more than willing to teach their Chinese counterparts how to fight and defeat a Russian aggressor."
The President also welcomed the Chinese offer to send Chinese trainers and advisors, saying that they "would be more than appreciated." President Zelenskyy offered up the Yavoriv Military Base for the Chinese trainers to be deployed, but also said that he was willing to allow China to pick which training center they wanted to deploy their trainers to. Noting the significant relationship between China and Ukraine, Zelenskyy stated that he would also be open to building a new training center to be exclusively used by Chinese soldiers to train Ukrainian forces.
Some observers noted that these developments could lead up to a permanent Chinese military base in Ukraine, with several Ukrainian government officials having speculated about the possibility.
Amid the mounting tensions, it is expected that Ukraine and China may work closely to counter the Russian threat. Several Ukrainian officials have noted the "vast production power" of China, as well as similar systems operated by it, which could allow easy integration of Chinese weapons into the Ukrainian arsenal.
Foreign Minister Kuleba Commends Western Nations for Support:
Kyiv, January 10th - In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, FM Kuleba applauded Germany, Poland, and New Zion for their support against "unjust Russian aggression." Proclaiming Germany and Poland to be one of Ukraine's strongest European Union partners, Kuleba expressed his hopes that the two countries would continue to provide financial and material aid to the Ukrainian military and civilians populace. In his statement, Kuleba thanked Germany for its diplomatic and military support, praising the German military aid package as "highly important" to security in Ukraine. Kuleba dubbed Germany the "Defender of Democracy in Europe" in his statement, saying that "the people of Ukraine are thankful that Germany is such a reliable and trusted ally." Kuleba went on to express his hope that Germany would send some of its advanced air defense and anti-tank systems among other equipment to Ukraine, noting that their "high precision and advanced capabilities would provide effective deterrence and protection."
Kuleba also expressed that Ukraine was in need of artillery and new tanks, noting that Ukraine would be consider making some purchases, but hoped that Ukraine could receive some as aid as well. He stated that Ukraine was considering purchasing some systems from New Zion, potentially including the high-tech Iron Dome system for use in protecting Ukrainian cities and frontline troops from bombardment.
In his remarks, Kuleba insisted that words were not enough, and that Ukraine needed material assistance and military training from the West. "The West cannot turn its back on Ukraine, and it cannot keep on encouraging Russia through inaction. Ukraine protects much of Europe, so please help us to protect you."
Defense Minister Reznikov Makes Visit to Donbas Front:
Oleksiivka, January 15th - Behind the frontlines, Defense Minister Reznikov made a visit to soldiers of Operational Command East to survey the front. While visiting the front, Reznikov spoke with some of the brave defenders of Ukraine, handing out several well-deserved awards as well. Before making a speech to the press, Reznikov made a visit directly to the frontlines to survey the status of the ongoing conflict. According to our reporter from the Kyiv Post who joined him, the trip was fraught with danger. Driving along an unpaved road, their convoy had to stop when artillery shells impacted nearby, and had to drive slowly around artillery craters in the road. At the front, there was light small arms fire, and the group had to leave quickly to avoid a hostile attack.
Once back to safety, Reznikov reported the following to the press. "Earlier today I made a special visit to the frontlines so that I could inform our administration on the real status of the front. And from what I observed, I can report that the Donbas terrorist groups continue to breach the cease-fire deal on not just a daily basis, but an hourly basis. This not one of the most quiet places on the frontlines, but still the actions of the Russian-backed terrorists are atrocious, and we cannot stand idly by. Russia must completely stop sending arms and ammunition to the terrorists, and the international community must continue to pressure the Russian Empire and its proxies to comply with cease-fire agreements and international law. Every artillery shell the Donbas terrorists fire into Ukraine risks the lives of innocent civilians and our brave defenders. The rain of terror must end.
If the Russian Empire and its proxies in the Donbas will not be compelled with diplomacy and sanction, they must be compelled with deterrence. Ukraine is willing to protect itself, but it needs the help of the international community. Ukraine needs funds, weapons, ammunition, and other modern equipment to stand a chance against aggressor forces. Ukraine must be able to modernize quickly, otherwise it endangers our security and peace in the region."
Foreign Ministry Criticizes Japanese Tariffs on China:
Kyiv, January 18th - Earlier yesterday the Japanese President announced tariffs on Chinese goods as well as a military operation in the contested East China Sea. Dubbed "Operation Tito," Japan announced it would deploy 10 ships into contested waters claimed by Beijing. The announcement was met by a response from the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, criticizing the move as "harmful" to the global economy and "unnecessarily antagonistic." A spokesperson with the ministry urged both sides to "exercise reasonable restraint," and called on Japan to reverse course on the tariffs.
While President Zelenskyy's office could not be reached for comment on the issue, an official close to the President who wished to remain anonymous commented that it was "highly disturbing" that Japan is joining Russia in "intimidation tactics."
Ministry of Defense Announces Plans to Increase Defensive Preparations, Beef up TDF:
Kyiv, January 20th - In a press conference discussing the possibility of a Russian invasion, Defense Minister Reznikov told the Kyiv Post that while an attack remains unlikely, Ukraine had to begin preparations. "In recent months we have seen increasing hostility and rhetoric from high level officials in Moscow and terror leaders in the Donbas. Earlier this month the Russian Empire authorized its forces around Ukraine to go into alert status. Ukraine will not give into the Russian threats and fearmongering, but if the Russian side has taught us anything, it is that we need to be ready to face an attack. Lukewarm messages in support of Ukraine by world leaders will not deter a Russian attack, it will only encourage those in Moscow, which may lead to a miscalculation on their part." said Reznikov.
Reznikov reiterated that Ukraine must prepare for any situation, warning that "If Russia believes it can carry out a successful decapitation strike, then they will attack Ukraine with little hesitation. Even the moderates in the Russian Duma can be drawn to the warmonger's side if they believe Ukraine is weak and could be defeated in a week. That is why one of our administration's first acts this year has been to strengthen our air defenses around Kyiv. But now it is my intention to make our military around the country less vulnerable. Ukraine has dozens of massive military stockpiles, filled with old equipment. It is unsafe in peacetime, and an easy target during conflict. Not too long ago we had the Kalynivka explosion, and we cannot let that happen again. Starting today I would like to announce a program to overhaul our munition stockpiles with the creation of 50 new smaller underground depots, with increased safety practices and security."
The Defense Minister also announced intentions to build hundreds of civilian air raid shelters across major cities in the country, citing the lack thereof. According to a source with the Ministry of Defense, the majority of the new shelters would be situation in the Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Luhansk, and Kharkiv Oblasts, with plans for them to be operational by August.
Additionally, the Ministry of Defense announced plans to seriously beef up the Territorial Defense Forces with additional training from combat veterans. Officials said that the ministry plans to hold training sessions every weekend in major cities, with any civilians or reservists 17 or older welcome to attend. According to the Minister of Defense, an effort was underway to train volunteers who had officially joined the TDF in ambush tactics and how to drive armored vehicles. In a statement, Reznikov told reporters that "Russia must be made to understand that every Ukrainian is willing to fight for our security and independence. They will not be welcomed with flowers if they invade. They will be welcomed with Molotov cocktails and Kalashnikov rifles."

PRIME MINISTER EXPRESSES CONCERN OVER THE DONBAS CONFLICT, ANNOUNCES SUPPORT FOR UKRAINE
In a press conference earlier this day, PM Fiala has expressed concern over the rising tensions within the Donbas region, where the stalemate is starting to break. As the PM himself stated:
“It’s unbelievable how the Donbas separatists act within the region. Aggression is never the answer.” He continued: “I announce full support for the Ukrainian people and announce confidence in that President Zelensky will resolve the conflict peacefully.” Through all of this, PM Fiala has not addressed the possible secret Russian intervention on the side of the separatists, calling other western leaders responses “radical and irresponsible”. The citizenry has viewed this positively, on the other hand, Ano-Hlas’s Babiš has once again stated: “Mr. Fiala is like a kid who was given ownership and full rule of a shop. He can’t lead this country.”

Foreign Ministry Refutes Russian Claims, Blames Moscow for 'Failure' of Minsk Agreement:
Kyiv, January 25th - In a public address criticizing the Russian Empire, President Zelenskyy refuted claims made earlier by the Russian Press Secretary, labelling them as "untruthful." Warning the West and Ukrainians against the "Russian deception and misinterpretation of the facts," Zelenskyy blamed Russia for the Minsk Agreement failures. As he spoke to the press, Zelenskyy shared images allegedly showing Donbas terrorist and Russian violations of the cease-fire agreement.
Narrating over a slideshow, Zelenskyy pointed out several images showing Russian equipment being used by terrorists in the Donbas, as well as terrorist artillery well within the security zone. "Here is a few images from our intelligence services showing Russian and terrorist violations of the Minsk agreement. If the Donbas proxies continue to deploy artillery into the security zone, then naturally Ukraine has no choice but to defend itself. Russia continues to contribute to these violations by providing the Donbas terrorists with weapons and ammunition, in direct violation of provision 10 of the Minsk agreement. Together with its proxies, Russia violates provision 1, 2, 9, and 10 on a daily basis. Meanwhile in Ukraine we have implemented every provision, until the current aggression by Donbas terrorists," Zelenkskyy said.
Showing images that Zelenskyy said are "irrefutable evidence" of Russian violations, the President pulled up images of new Russian equipment, including a T-72B3 in separatist hands. "The Russians think they can deceive the West with their lies. We cannot allow that," he said.
Warning that Ukraine would not allow the current state of affairs continue forever, Zelenskyy noted, "The only reason why the Donbas terrorist regime continues to survive is the constant support of Imperial Russian Forces. If need be, I am prepared to call upon strong international pressure to completely cut the terrorist leaders off." In what seemed to be a direct threat of military force, Zelenskyy said he had authorized the Ukrainian Armed Forces to "prepare to implement provision 10 of the Minsk Agreement with direct air and ground action against violating equipment and groups," at "a moments notice."
Despite the President's harsh warnings, high ranking officials in the administration and several commentators have said that the chance of a significant escalation remains low. However some commentators pointed to the previous use of a Bayraktar TB2 drone in November last year to destroy a separatist artillery piece, which some are saying may be Kyiv's response. Overall, most military commentators have said that chances of all out war remains low, owing to the fact, "Russia has not conducted any serious military build-ups in the region. They do not have the forces to launch a serious invasion of Ukraine at the moment. When they mobilize we should be concerned," said one commentator.
Three Ukrainian Soldiers Killed in Donbas Separatist Attack:
Donetsk, February 1st - Early this morning three Ukrainian soldiers were reportedly killed by separatist shelling in the Donetsk Oblast of Ukraine along the line of contact, amid the intensifying conflict. Just last week a Ukrainian civilian was injured in a similar incident, and in previous months numerous Ukrainian troops have been killed in the fighting. The conflict risks escalating once again into a serious war, as Moscow and Kyiv trade threats and accusations. In response to the casualties, Defense Minister Reznikov condemned the "persistent cease-fire violations perpetuated by the Donbas terrorists." While officials were quick to reiterate that the attack was nothing new and would not drastically change the situation in the Donbas, Reznikov demanded Russia pull its equipment out of the Donbas and cease supplying the local terrorists with weapons. "If Russia continues to send weapons to these terrorists regimes, they will continue to wildly attack Ukraine and needlessly kill more people. This must end." Reznikov said.
In a statement, President Zelenskyy offered his condolences to the friends and family of the three soldiers, announcing plans to make a visit to the families in their local hometowns. In his statement, Zelenskyy saidthat the three men would be all posthumously awarded the 'For the Sacrifice of Blood While Fighting for Freedom of Ukraine' medal, and be given a burial with full military honors. Vowing to end the barrages, Zelenskyy warned that "If Russia continues to do nothing to rein in its terrorist proxies, Ukraine will effectively mobilize international pressure as well as consider military options."
According to Defense Minister Reznikov, military options are "on the table," if the Russian proxies do not cease artillery barrages and remove artillery from the region. Citing intelligence officials, Reznikov stated, "We are aware of the terror unit responsible for the attack. If they do not withdraw artillery from the Donbas, those responsible for the artillery barrages will pay a heavy price."
Day After Ukrainian Troops Killed in Terrorist Shelling, Azov Regiment Vows Response:
Donetsk, February 2nd - In a short video released to social media, the famous Azov Regiment has released a video to social media claiming one of the dead soldiers as being from their regiment. In a short recorded clip, Lt. Colonel Denys Prokopenko, the commander of the regiment, vowed revenge, warning "justice will be served." While top Ukrainian officials insisted that only the government in Kyiv would make the decision on how to respond to the constant shelling, the video shows a short clip of drone footage, seemingly showing separatist artillery positions and a separatist bunker, an ominous threat to the Donbas terrorists.

Foreign Minister Waszczykowski to attend meeting with Russia
"It is the intention of the Kingdom of Poland to do all in it's power to mediate and de-escalate the conflict in Ukraine and uphold it's bilateral ties with Ukraine and Russia alike, both nations are important partners of Poland." Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski said in an interview with TVP a few days after the government announced that it would participate in a trilateral summit between Poland, Russia and Czechoslovakia. The announcement drew a lot of criticism from KWN leader Donald Tusk who soon after the announcement posted that, "The ZBSRP proves it's underhanded authoritarian leanings again and again, they keep failing to pass constitutional reforms needed for our application to the EU to be taken seriously and now they pull our country closer to Russia whose sphere we only recently escaped." On his official Twitter profile. Tusk is not the only opposition leader to criticize Polish participation in the summit both from the left and the right sides of the political spectrum, with Wlodzimierz Czarzasty of OPRO and Robert Winnicki of PPW making critical statements as well.
The foreign minister however re-iterated Poland's commitment to peace in Eastern Europe. "This meeting will serve the interest of peace in our region, I will be raising the issue of Ukraine, as I am sure that the Czechoslovak attendees will as well, both Poland and Czechoslovakia and strongly against any escalation of the Ukraine war and we remain committed to helping the two parties involved find a peaceful solution. We will do all in our power to make sure the Tzarina and President Zelenskyi make sure to take the heed of those in their respective governments who wish for a peaceful resolution, the warhawks in the Kremlin and Bankova must be sidelined."
When asked about the purpose of the meeting, the Foreign Minister said that he would not speak of any detail after it was concluded but he also said that, other than of course the regional security situation and tensions between Ukraine and Russia, there would be discussions on a framework of trilateral relations and trade between the three in order to ease the flow of goods. There has been some speculation as to the role of Russia in the Kaczynski LNG Terminal in Pilawa and if it were to become the main supplier. Both the Terminal and the Baltic Pipeline were envisioned to be ways for Poland to diversify it's supplies away from Russia, but any large scale contracts for supplying the Pilawa Terminal, first with Norway that already supplies the Baltic Pipe and then Qatar which have seemingly stalled as the Terminal is about to reach it's initial operating capability.

“Alright, alright - so I’m here to give an explanation to our non-English audiences why British politics is so f*** both domestically and internationally, basically. In a way, people, like Americans, could understand. Without swearing. Obviously. So, uh, right…Let me think. Let me think! Aha, right!"
"George Osborne is a pathological idiot. Dumber than a box of rocks given crayons and a task to draw a tree. Not sure if that sounds familiar to our international audience. Perhaps I am rushing too far ahead. George Osborne is…a moron with a really punchable face…again, sound familiar? Though, I can’t say ‘moron’ or ‘idiot’; in the UK, you would say ‘George Osborne has overestimated his own intellectual credentials when confronting the objections placed before him.’"
"Of course, I should give some context as to why Osborne and so many like him in the Conservative parties are like that."
"I’m sure you are all aware of the phrase ‘People who don't miss the British Empire have no heart; people who want it back have no brain.’ With that idiom in mind, the Conservatives are, quite frankly, f*** lunatics. Trying to chase after the sun that no longer wants to shine its holy rays on these miserable islands we call home by getting us involved in so many saber-rattling jerkoffs in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, South America, North America - basically any continent that’s not Antarctica, the Conservatives are constantly applying for a d*** measuring contest with the other great powers."
"Now that I say that, I would not be surprised if George Osborne would send an expedition to the Arctic and Antarctic to claim a piece of useless frozen rock in the name of Her Majesty. As if that would indicate to the world that the British Empire is still in one piece. The Conservatives do insist this is a British Federation but everyone and their mother knows it is more like a Confederation since Canada, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand shouted ‘God Bless George Osborne and Keep Him As Far Away From Us!’ Notice that these countries still have Queen Elizabeth II as their head of state…"
"Where was I? Oh right! George Osborne is a moron. The Federalists, which is every teapot and tinpot Conservative in Parliament right now, are also morons. Sound simple enough? Let’s keep going. Although he champions himself as the Man of the People, he is nothing but a rich d***head thanks to his Irish inheritance. He constantly plagues the poor people of Britain by promising greater pension, affordable housing, and more life savings. Sound policies except they only apply to him and his gang of goonies. A trip around Ireland and Scotland should prove my point since all the wealth remains concentrated around London.
At this point, you might be wondering how the Labour and Liberal parties haven’t gotten any victories. Long story incredibly short, if the Conservatives are the morons, then the Labour Party is a bunch of sociopaths."

Waszczykowski Arrives in Brno
One of the government jets had been fueled and prepared for the short journey at hand, Foreign Minister Waszczykowski boarded with a certain trepidation, he had to admit. It seemed more and more like Poland was the center of stability in the half of Europe that seemed ready for tensions to boil over. With the new statements from leading Russian officials, including the Monarch herself, war seemed ever closer on the horizon. This had the potential to soon snowball, Europe had more possible flashpoints beyond Ukraine, there was Catalonia that could destabilize, there was the dormant conflict between Moldova and the artificial state of Transnistria. All of this was reason for concern, if Russia resorts to open warfare, it would be a signal to the world, a signal that direct war between nation states is, once again, on the table.
Not counting Czechoslovakia, Poland was the westernmost country in Eastern Europe, a gate that any eastern power had to breach in order to reach the west and vice versa. That made Poland valuable, as well as put it in danger. Ever since the fall of the Eastern Block, Poland had walked a tightrope holding on to Russia in one hand and the West in the other, Polish troops fought alongside Russians in both Chechen Wars while fighting back to back with the US and it's NATO allies in Afghanistan and Iraq. The State Minister had no interest in joining either NATO or the CSTO, he was more interested in joining the EU if anything. Waszczykowski himself had been trying to steer Duda away from that for a while now and have the State Minister come around to his point of view of rescinding the Polish EU application but applying for membership in NATO.
Still, Waszczykowski was not the SM, and with the instability in the US, perhaps it would be best to... uphold the independent foreign policy and remain free from entanglements with superpowers, Poland had been manhandled into one by the Russians after WW2 and it had brought the country little, it had tried to put it's best foot forward and fought alongside the NATO powers in their interventions, to equally little reward.
After Waszczykowski's jet touched down he and his aides were brought through the city streets in a caravan of black limousines flanked by Czechoslovak police officers on motorbikes. After the customary handshakes in front of the assembled press had been completed, they could get down to business and hopefully come to some sort of understanding.

Continued provocations by the Russians and Japanese!
The imperialists in the Russian state duma believe that China is easy to bully. They think that our great nation and people will bend over and give up once they cut off our access to oil, but clearly, they don't understand our tenacity. This is but a minor setback for our people and nation. Like every other attempt to subjugate and bully us, we shall adapt and overcome this barrier. The National People's Congress has after discussions with the President and the Standing Committee will begin to move all state-owned assets out of Russia. There has been no announcement by the Chinese government for the movement of assets for private Chinese corporations currently operating in China, though that could change at any moment. Congress has also announced that goods imported from Japan will have an increased tariff. Furthermore, Chinese tourist agencies are no longer allowed to sell packaged tours to Japan.
Furthermore, in response to blatant Japanese aggression and intrusion into sovereign Chinese waters, the People's Liberation Army will be dispatching a total of 12 ships, including the New Type 003 Fujian class supercarrier. The current Japanese government does not respect the sovereignty of China and believes that we are still stuck in the 20th century. They are fools for believing that they are still the undefeated Empire of the past and that China is still a disunited backward country that is easy to conquer and subjugate. They are using the same excuses as their World War 2 counterparts. They are trying to create a new Marco Polo Bridge Incident, by claiming that our ideology is brutal and repressive. That is not true and neither is the belief in their supremacy over China. China is the world's third-largest economy and continues to grow at a fast rate while its economy has been stagnant. However, let it is known that China does not blame the Japanese people for the wrongdoings of their government. Like their ancestors before them that were forced to live under Tojo's reign, they had no say in the process of their government. We hope that they will stand up to their oppressive government and say no more!

To whom it may concern,
China and Britain are united in our opposition to the Russian menace and while our relations have deteriorated since the 1960s, we hope to fix that. It would only benefit Russia if we continue to allow our relations to sour. Therefore, we would like to invite members of the British parliament and foreign office to attend a conference in China to discuss our future relations and coordinate a joint response about Russia.
Best wishes,
Foreign Minister Wang Yi
