To congratulate him his Grandfather on the Mothers side financed him a rare artefact, a magnifying glass. As he tried it out during the visit he saw that it had some, unusual properties. It seemed to make him find things way easier by highlighting them, Phrases in books, and Items in Rooms, and it even made lines to items that he looked for when he focused his mind on the problem. While he was working and still young, he met his future wife. Perhaps due to this, he rose through the ranks of the Library Staff, first as Senior Assistant, then as Associate Librarian, and lastly, when he was 44 he got the promotion to Librarian. Having inherited money from his Grandparents he started to secure the Family House but also redecorated parts of it by buying two or three paintings from somewhat famous artists. During the Earthquake of 73, he was almost squashed by a cascade of Books and Documents at work but luckily was only minorly injured, when he returned home he found everything in order. Well, due to his access to historical resources and connections he would be researching and trying to figure out from where and how these Tulpas emerged and maybe try to inform the public when something of value is found out. Personality: Winter is almost stupidly brave and loyal, and if she makes a promise to you, you know she's going to set the world alight and watch it burn if that's what it took. This fiery nature of hers has occasionally often landed her in a bit a lot of hot water, but that doesn't make any difference to her. She forms deep attachements to her friends and family, which make it hard for her to let go and she can come across as jealous and obsessive over those she loves.
Biography: Winter was the daughter of British immigrants who settled in Del Rey looking for a fun retirement place after winning the lottery. She came here when she was 4, but shortly after they arrived, Winter's mum was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and died a few months later, leaving her to be raised with her father, half-brothers and half-sister and her sister. She was very close to her half-siblings, in particular idolising her half-sister Eli.

Winter had a turbulent period during her teenage years when she fell in with the wrong gang. She would hide all sorts of illegal dealings from her family, and got a girlfriend, Summer. Terrified of what her father would say if he found out she likes girls, she hid it from him for 2 years, from when she was 17 to 19.

When Winter was 18, she recieved a call that her half-sister Eli had commit s**cide. She was only 35. This naturally devastated Winter, and changed her outlook on the world to a much more pessimistic one. That year she also started working for a local leftist political party as a civil rights activist. The next year, when she was 19, her girlfriend died after some gang v!olence occured in the street and she was caught in the middle. Winter's dad finally found out about her sexuality and often belittled and bullied her for it. Winter sank into depression, until she found an outlet in training with her weapon. She had done so since she was 14, but now she started to really put effort and work into mastering it.

She was very close to her half-siblings, in particular idolising her half-sister Eli.

Winter had a turbulent period during her teenage years when she fell in with the wrong gang. She would hide all sorts of illegal dealings from her family, and got a girlfriend, Summer. Terrified of what her father would say if he found out she likes girls, she hid it from him for 2 years, from when she was 17 to 19.

When Winter was 18, she recieved a call that her half-sister Eli had commit s**cide. She was only 35. This naturally devastated Winter, and changed her outlook on the world to a much more pessimistic one. That year she also started working for a local leftist political party as a civil rights activist. The next year, when she was 19, her girlfriend died after some gang v!olence occured in the street and she was caught in the middle. Winter's dad finally found out about her sexuality and often belittled and bullied her for it. Winter sank into depression, until she found an outlet in training with her weapon. She had done so since she was 14, but now she started to really put effort and work into mastering it.

1a. Nueva Iberia is a multi-ethnic republic, with most identifying as white though in reality, most would fall under the mestizo umbrella. Indigenous, Afro-Latinos, Southern Europeans, and then East Asians. However, in terms of equality, it's pretty mixed. An event that I'll go into more detail about later involved a mass indigenous rebellion in the 16th century that forced the Spanish to be a bit less oppressive; however, in general, most Iberians tend to look down on their darker-skinned brethren. It will be worse if you are another flavor of Hispanic, like Cuban, Central American, Mexican, etc.

b. It's not equal, with men dominating most aspects of society. Most would expect women to focus on childbearing and building a home; however, things are changing. Nothing legally stops women from joining most occupations; it's more indirect and subtle sexism.

C. LGBT rights are also weird. Homosexual men, ever since the Copper Men was more allowed as long as it wasn't in public. Iberian masculinity tends to be more *flamboyant* than other cultures in terms of mannerisms and fashion but outright being gay would be looked down on.

Due to the current HIV epidemic, it's soured even more.

Lesbians, however, were not accepted in pre-Columbian civilizations and were thoroughly oppressed; that mentality has never really changed.

Most citizens wouldn't know what trans rights are.

2. City Center, Universities, and Corporate Downtown is the best bet. City Centers complain about a local ordinance from the mayoral or a judicial decision, FID Offce ( Forces of Imperial Defense), for something the crown has down. Universities would be great for a more general societal trend protest and downtown for unethical labor rights.

3. If it's nonviolent, they'll let it go.

If it's a general protest, police that looks like this will show up.

If it's getting pretty violent, then the Calvary would show up.

It was early evening. Winter checked herself one more time in the mirror. Rainbow headband: Check, lesbian colours: check, cardboard sign: check. Winter was extra proud of that sign, as she had written her message on the back in reversed writing, so if it was to get in the newspaper, the whole of Nueva Iberia would see what they wanted. Maybe then they would listen. She scoffed, As if. They wouldn't listen to some uni kid, they probably wouldn't even notice her. Even if she was the daughter of one of the most skilled Acolytes in the Imperial Royal Guard. She chuckled bitterly, Not anymore. Her father had been... Less than accepting of his daughter's sexuality. Winter pushed those thoughts away, joining the steadily growing crowd of people heading towards the university quad.

When she got there, a girl waving a pink and orange shawl was standing on a box in the middle of the quad. Everyone was slowly gathering at the edges, listening to what she had to say.
"We have been planning this for months now. We know what we want, and we know how we will get it!" she held the shawl up high so it blended with the colours of the sunset, "Let's go and make a difference!"

Caught up in the frenzied atmosphere, Winter felt herself moving towards the gate of the uni and out into the street. Waving her sign aloft, she joined the growing chant,
"We stand for equality! We stand for all!" It grew, becoming almost ritual like as the moved further along the road.
When they reached a small square, a number of civilians had gathered there, forming a blockade. Winter felt rage boil inside her. How dare they stop them from fighting for the right thing. How could they so blind and think that what she stood for was wrong!? She could feel her fingers twitching, eager to bring out her golden dragon's fury on the world, but she reigned it in, fighting the urge. There were police lurking somewhere, she knew, even if she could see them.

Although it wasn't her that make the first move, she didn't have to. Further down the line, a member of the blockade had stepped forwards and knocked down some of the protesters.
Right. Enough was enough.
Winter reached for the sword strapped to her back, but was stopped by a man with rainbow paint on his cheeks. Looking where he indicated, she noticed police officers watching the chaos with satisfied smirks. Right. It was just a ploy to try and find a legal reason for arresting them. Those sneaky, cheating ba-. Winter dropped her hands back to her sides. She would not give them the satisfaction of capturing innocent protesters, especially not her. Not today. Not ever.
