Species/Race: Lethan Twi’lek
Physical Appearance: Standing at the general upper limits of her species at 2.4 meters tall, Jania has developed into a slightly stereotypical Twi’lek, with a very womanly figure
Homeworld: Born on Ryloth, but was taken from there at a young age and considers herself Coruscanti
Alignment: Neutral, she adapts as situations demand.
Role: Grand Moff of the Quelii Oversector

Personality: Something of a social chameleon, Jania molds her personality to what is required. Generally however, she can be described as slightly arrogant, but dutiful and not needlessly cruel or harsh.
Skills: A master of the political dance of the Core, large scale business/Industrial , networking, architecture, and is a hobbyist engineer. Minor military experience, and most of that is just book learning, but she is skilled at making sure the proper officer is in charge of the task, and making sure they can do their job.
Biography: Born to a poor single mother on Ryloth, Jania was originally named Ibes'cali. Before she was even three, she and her mother were taken as slaves and shipped offworld to be part of the higher-end slave market thanks to their rare and highly sought after red skin. They were bought by the powerful Quillan family of Coruscant, more to serve as status symbols more than anything else. It wasn’t a horrible existence, especially compared to the savage poverty that had awaited them both on Ryloth. Ibes’cali was fed, clothed, housed, and educated to a greater extent than her mother would have likely been able to provide.
It was when she was roughly six that her life began to diverge. The Quillan’s had a daughter that was the same age as Ibes’cali, and through some way or another the two became close friends. As hard as Mina Quillan tried to discourage her daughter from the friendship, Krina would simply ignore her, even sneaking out of being locked in her room and finding Ibes’cali. Eventually word reached Gavenk Quillan, who was often too busy with managing his business empire and network of connections to pay too close attention to the household, he simply laughed. Gavenk was a jovial, kind man who found humor in most things, and often found very straightforward solutions to problems, no matter how small or large they were. If his wife couldn’t quite stomach the idea that their daughters best friend was a slave, then they would simply free Ibes’cali. And since they couldn’t very well just free a young girl and send her off into Coruscant, they would have to continue to take care of her, and if they were going to do that, they might as well just adopt her.
Mina Quillan was, needless to say, shocked at her husband's decision, as was Ibes’cali and her mother Nesgeli, while Krina was simply delighted that not only would she retain her best friend, but her best friend would now be her sister. It was a rather jarring change of things for the young Ibes’cali, soon to be renamed to Jania as she ‘took’ a more proper Coruscanti name. Now as a daughter of the Quillan family, her status was elevated, her education was increased, and with the turmoil of those years she took refuge in her education and studies.
Celebrating her thirteenth birthday, Jania was introduced more readily into the workings of the Quillan business empire that she would one day inherit part of. She took far more interest in its workings then her sister Krina did, and by the time she was fifteen Gavenk had essentially taken her under his wing, something that she was surprised at but Krina was rather happy about, Krina being more of a socialite and wanting to enjoy the wealth and power of her family more than caring how it was made and maintained.
At sixteen (34BBY)Jania and Krina were properly introduced to Coruscanti high-society in a lavish ball. It was here that they would also be introduced to many of Gavenk’s friends and allies in the Senate, including one of his closest allies, Senator Sheev Palpatine of Naboo. It was shortly after this that Jania and Krina were both entrusted with small parts of the Quillan business, mid-level operations that even if they failed miserably wouldn’t bring much ruin to the greater whole. As expected, Krina took little interest, but Jania immersed herself. She failed, of course, no matter the schooling and upbringing a sixteen year old simply wouldn’t have the experience to perfectly succeed, would still have the naivety of youth. But she didn’t fail spectacularly, which was something. She kept at it and in the following years righted the course and returned to making a profit. It was at this time that Jania was finally able to free her biological mother, something that had been long delayed thanks to Mina Quillan’s bitter stubbornness.
After six years of managing the mid-level operation, Gavenk decided it was time for her to experience the other side of the family business, and arguably the more important part. Politics. Although the Quillan family wasn’t a political dynasty, they were part of the money behind the dynasties, as Gavenk explained to her. Using his connections, he got her appointed to the staff of the Supreme Chancellor of the Republic, his close ally Sheev Palpatine. Although she was hardly the most important member of Supreme Chancellors staff, Palpatine took time to teach her when he could, no doubt wanting to ensure the Quillan’s continued support. She learned a great deal from the veteran politician, and while she wouldn’t go so far as to say they became friends, she did feel like she was something of a pupil.
For four years she would work to strengthen the Supreme Chancellors position wherever possible. As the CIS was formed, she aided in the drafting of the Emergency Powers Act, and helped get is passed in the Senate. For the next two years she would again work to strengthen and shore up the position of Supreme Chancellor. At the outbreak of the Clone Wars after the First Battle of Geonosis, Gavenk would ask for her to go and oversee the family interests in the Ojoster sector, including Taris, which she agreed to, with Palpatines blessings.
During the next few years she would ensure the Quillan businesses and interests were stable, and she would also work with Republic officials in helping manage the government and military side of things. The Quillans’ supported the war-effort in all things, and they made a ridiculous amount of money doing so, as well as increasing their political influence by being fierce Palpatine supporters. In the last days of the war, Palpatine passed the Sector Governance Decree, and having a staunch ally with a built up support network, he named Jania as Grand Moff of the newly formed Quelii Oversector.
Over the last three years Junia has spent her time in equal parts overseeing industrial and military buildup throughout her oversector, and strengthening her political position in the new upheave of influence and power, both of which she has been quite successful at.
