History Changes: The Spanish Civil War is won by the Republicans instead of the Nationalists. The Republican government sticks together instead of breaking into three parts, aiding their effort, while the 1939 coup is stopped. Republican victory is achieved in 1940. With a new constitution in place, Spain remains neutral through most of WW2 while taking time to recover from the civil war. Late in the war, Spain joins the side of the Allies, aiding in the liberation of France and the invasion of Italy through late 1944 and 1945. Now, Spain looks to move forwards as a nation, with the government's chief objectives being furthering the industrialization of the country.

Initially apolitical, he examined the communist rising and being from a wealthy family, he helped form the Liberal Party. Confusion over direction and his impassioned condemnation of the perils of communism and socialism, as well as his role in the home office inserted him into the public discussion as a candidate for the leadership. He did not pursue it, but as elements showed enthusiasm toward this new figure he allowed himself to be pushed. Focusing on policies, compromise, and rebuilding Australia, but also opposing communist influences and painting Labour as a socialist party and cozy to the Eastern Bloc, has enabled the Liberal Party to gain a lot of populatiry and influence.
However there are questions about his record. Some feel his family, which is well-connected, enabled him to get discharged from the military and installed in the home office.

Depends. IRL Stalin initially tried to strike a deal with RoC and was kinda reluctant to support the CCP until they have proven themselves successful. Thinking of doing the same initially.
