Points of Interest

WORK IN PROGRESS. I am currently formatting these for posting here. Note that you will be given some freedom to come up with your own minor POIs for storytelling/worldbuilding purposes.

Image

If you arrived in Bolton because you answered the strange ad, the address and directions provided will lead you here. Located just outside city limits, the outside of the old homestead looks pretty dilapidated, but upon entering you find the interior to be immaculate. Not even dust has collected on the freshly polished counters and floors. The kitchen is fully stocked with working appliances, and the house is powered by electricity. There are several bedrooms with neatly made beds. Someone was expecting you, but there is no sign of the host. The walls are bare of pictures save for a few odd paintings and tapestries, and the master bedroom does not appear to be occupied. From the outside there appears to be an attic but there is no obvious hatch to enter it.

Image
Boot Hill is a bar located off of Highway 48 just beyond the county line on the south side. Known as "the Boot" to it's regulars, it's frequented primarily by members of the local chapter of the notorious Outlaws Motorcycle Club and their associates. Despite it's somewhat flashy and inviting exterior, it's not the kind of place one might go to have a casual drink to unwind after work. You're just as likely to end up leaving with less teeth than you entered with as you are to catch a nice buzz.

Image
Not your grandmother's church. Members of the small congregation frequently leave bizarre flyers and leaflets scattered around town and on porches inviting the town's residents to join them for midnight services on every fifth saturday night. Most folks prefer First Baptist's over on Main Street.

Image

Curly doesn't get out much, doesn't keep house too well, and mostly prefers to sit around, watch daytime television, smoke cigarettes, and eat. The motel reflects it's owner. It was never prosperous, but it has certainly seen far better days. The lobby is cramped and smells of sweat and cigarette smoke. The fifteen rooms are small, the bed sheets have burn holes in them, and about a third of them have fleas. The tub could use a scrubbing, as could the toilet, and only half the TVs work. What did you expect for 25$ a night? Enjoy your stay!

Image

By far the most popular place in town to eat a good meal or have a beer, Tasha's Tavern is the spot most locals go for a nice lunch or a night out. Most weekdays it is filled with Bolton's more mobile geriatric community, hence it's namesake, as folks over 60 get a good discount. Beer is never served on Sundays, and cursing will get you thrown out. This is a family establishment, after all. You won't find anything harder than Budweiser here.

Image

The local paper is run by one middle-aged woman out of an old basement downtown. Dusty windows peer out at ankle level onto the sidewalk of the town square, rarely ever seen unlit by yellow light as their owner almost never stops working. She takes internships from high school journalism students to help out, but she manages nearly the whole thing by herself.

Image

Sitting atop a hill on the northern outskirts of town, ABXS 96.6 is an AM radio station broadcasting across all of Cooke. Most of what you'll hear is gospel, both old and contemporary, with a few local advertisements read by a bored sounding young DJ.

Character Application

Name: Phil Goldman
Age: 49
Appearance: a middle-aged man, with rapidly greying hair, about 5'9', a little bit portly, wears glasses.
Personality: Paranoid, rather untrusting, he speaks rapidly, especially when explaining one of his theories. If he keeps talking long enough eventually he will tell you about his time in the Agency (more on that below). He thinks he is Sherlock Holmes and therefore likes to snoop around. He also has a New York "fuhgeddaboudit" speech and mannerism pattern. He is somewhat still stuck in the Cold War, and hates anything he perceives to be communist, even if it's not. Also hates New Jersey.
Occupation: After leaving Columbia University he was recruited by the CIA in the 60's. About two decades later he was let go (more on that below), and was hired by the sensationalist-story-loving editor of the National Informer, a tabloid with a reputation for crazy stories.
Skills: stealth (he was better at this in his younger days), eavesdropping, code-breaking, surveillance, forensic science, radar operation, and he knows Morse code.
Equipment: He has brought along a wide variety of gadgets in his RV. The ones that will stay in the RV are: his forensic investigation kit (comprised of a microscope, petri dishes, test tubes, reagents to test for blood, among other things), radar setup (an extending antenna that retracts for when he's driving, connected to a receiver, with a screen to look for UFOs), and a computer (the big, boxy 90's kind). His mobile equipment he carries in a backpack; a Geiger counter, thermal camera (to look for ghosts), night vision goggles, a microphone attached to a parabolic antenna to better receive the sound which he listens to via headphones, an electromagnetic sensor to look for abnormalities in EM fields caused by paranormal events, several sample tubes and evidence bags to take back to his mobile lab, a magnifying glass, and of course a camera.
Background: Phil Goldman went to Columbia University to study astrophysics, but was kicked out for his fascination with UFOs and the possibility of alien life. After that, he took a journalism course at a community college to support himself. Then the US entered the Vietnam War. Phil really did not want to get drafted, but he did want to do his part, so he decided to apply for the CIA. By some miracle they accepted him, and he underwent basic training at a black site. His first field mission nearly ended in disaster thanks to Phil's clumsiness with a gun. So the Agency sent him off to Langley where he would stay as a pencil pusher for nearly two decades. To make this more interesting he began writing as a side hustle, often times during work. A few of his short stories were published in a magazine, but were quickly forgotten. He turned to journalism, but the CIA didn't want him spilling any secrets. Every now and then, he'd come across a paper or a file detailing some investigation into UFO's or other paranormal anomalies. He was made fun of by his coworkers for this, but the Agency would occasionally send him out to take picture of a crop circle or whatever. Then, in 1989, the National Informer offered a $2,000 reward to anyone who could take a real picture of an alien. Phil jumped at the chance, and sent them a photo he had dug up from the CIA archives. It won the paper's contest and was printed on the front page of the Informer. Needless to say, the CIA was very pissed about this, and they fired Phil. Out of a job, Phil contacted the editor of the National Informer and asked for a position as a full-time writer. The editor recognized the paper-selling potential that paranormal stories from an ex-CIA agent had, and hired Phil. At first the stories were just puff pieces about some farmer in Kansas that claims he saw a UFO steal one of his cows or whatever. But partly due to Phil's burgeoning imagination and partly due to pressure from his editor, the stories became more varied, detailed, and outlandish. By now Phil thinks his theories are real, and constantly looks for proof. When he found out about the ad, he jumped at the chance to visit Bolton, since it was quite well-known in his paranormal conspiracy theory circles. He thinks that if he proves the rumors are ture, and publishes an article, his stingy, crabby editor will give him a raise, he'll win a Pulitzer, and his mother will be proud of him. But he distrusted the offer to stay at a ranch house, figuring it was some kind of setup. So he drove down from NYC in his "mobile command headquarters" an RV with conspiracy bulletin boards all over the inside, as well as a computer radar setup I talked about, his aforementioned lab equipment, a place where he develops the photographs from his camera and a small library of conspiracy theory books/magazines. Since there isn't much actual room for eating/cooking in the camper, he'll join the others in the house for meals.

Interesting. Will read more when I have time; is there a possibility that I could play a new sheriff's deputy, a transfer from a larger municipality?

Alright, so I have a few gripes with this application. Here are the things i'd like for you to iron out before I consider accepting it.

First, he is too old. The maximum age for characters in this RP is 50. We don't want it to be too geriatric in here.

Second, I am alright with Phil having spent some time with the CIA, but in the skills section you have given some pretty vague descriptions. "A knowledge of spy stuff" and "some science" should be elaborated on. Where did Phil receive an education, and for what? How was he recruited to the CIA, and what did he learn during his time there? Did he retire or was he fired? "Coming up with conspiracy theories" and "telling stories" are not skills and fit more with the personality and flavor of your character. While there is room for humor and kooks, if you're going to app a former CIA agent i'd like for them to be much more fleshed out in this regard. The theme is still mostly serious.

Third, and I may be a bit of a stickler here but forgive me, I think the "forensic chemistry set" would probably better be described as a "forensic investigation kit" and i'd encourage you to do a bit of research on what that entails. I want you to be able to convincingly roleplay someone who has knowledge of such things and at least knowing what sort of things might be in such a kit and what they are used for is part of that."Sensors" is far too vague, and you'll want to be able to transport equipment in the field with something more mobile than what bands use to haul instruments. I like the idea of living in an RV and generally hauling/storing your equipment in that though.

Lastly, i'd like to hear more on why Phil turned to writing conspiracy theories after being let go from the agency. Also, rather than writing for a more reputable organization, I think what you're proposing would work more with someone who wrote for a tabloid. Less New York Times and more National Enquirer.

Also "frank"ly though even the image of Danny Devito is hilarious, i'd prefer we not use images or the names of celebrities to describe our characters.

Please edit your application and let me know so that I can review it again, I look forward to seeing Phil fleshed out a bit more :)

Character Application

Name: Daniel M. Bowman
Age: 43
Appearance:

Personality: Mainly in it for the money, but also has a desire to solve mysteries. He can be a very disagreeable person at times as he is set in his ways. A bit of a stereotype as an alcoholic chain-smoking private investigator
Occupation: Army infantryman 1966-1971, Police officer 1972-1979, Private investigator 1979-present
Skills: Knows his way around the law and an adept investigator.
Equipment: S&W .38 Special Model 10, two boxes of ammunition, five sets of shirts, pants and undergarments, two notepads and pens and a carton of cigarettes.
Background:"Not... too sure what you're asking for, but I'm from Connecticut, did my duty in 'Nam, came home and joined up with the fuzz, that went well enough up until it didn't and I may have found more than I was bargainin' for..." Danny paused and sighed. "I got fired, moved south and set up my own private eye firm, was doing pretty good with the 'is my partner cheating' crowd, not exactly what I had in mind, but it keeps food on the table and the misses happy enough to not leave me. Anyway, always wanted to take a little vacation, reading the paper I saw your advertisement and thought it sounded like a good venture, I won't lie to you, I read some of those kooky magazines every once in a blue moon when I'm down at the news stand, I reckon I might be your guy."

Aw, damn, I had an app in the works for this; probably should've said as such about this.

Ah well, hopefully next time goes better. Would be a shame to not have a spooky RP in spooky month, though!

Yeah I didn’t see much interest but maybe people didn’t speak up and I didn’t give them enough time to post. This has been a creative project of mine for a while and I’d love to GM it on NS. So please, I’d like you to keep working on your character (my favorite part of running games). I’ll repost the OP, put up an ad and leave this open through Halloween. If you have any questions just let me know.

Sounds good to me! I had a duo in mind, actually, since I did see that that was allowed. Gonna get back to work on that ASAP.

I've had an odd (two versions, actually) kind of half-done for a week now, lmao. Just debating whether or not I should go through with it. Is it better to drop them here and see where things go, or to take things to TG or something, or....?

Also, tagged, obviously. No guarantees, but I am interested.

Background: Edward was born in 1970 to an actively deployed marine and a secretary from the town hall of Nashville, his upbringing was not outside of the ordinary as he was raised mostly by his mother, aunts and sisters all while his father fought in Vietnam, even once the war ended Edward saw little of his father as he went on to work in the Nashville PD and he would often come home late. The days where he did see his father he noticed how often sunken and tired he was, yet the man was always tranquil with Edward, never raising his voice and looking at his son with a smile every time he'd carry him in his arms. At age 12 Edward was enrolled in Middle School and this is where he developed a fascination with biology and history, he would often venture out into the parks of Nashville collecting all kinds of critters and writing about them in journals, he would also often read about the history of the world and about legends both mythical and urban. He also gained an admiration for his father as a police officer, he believed it was quite a cool job but for him he felt that his calling was to be a biologist and uncover the secrets of life.

Edward continued onwards with his hobbies up till high school where he uncovered his skills of deduction in one occasion by finding out who had been the culprit behind the destruction of the school's main statue honoring its founder, a noted biologist who had served as Edwards own inspiration for the field. Using his social skills to talk his classmates around the school, from the most popular to the loners he eventually figured out a list of suspects and was able to cancel out one after one and figuring out it had been the leader of the schools football team. This process of investigation to which he based on the scientific process itself riled up Edward to decide to follow into his fathers own footsteps for police work much against his mother and his own fathers wishes. He enrolled into the State University of Nashville until finally graduating with a minor in biology and a major in criminology, he quickly applied to serve not in the city PD but in the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security where he graduated the academy at age 23 and began his service as a patrolman first and thanks to his intricate skills he managed to bust multiple people for trafficking, or being wanted felons he was promoted to State Investigator at age 26. Despite the thrilling life of police work Edward felt that the cases he was assigned to were often monotonous and boring, as they would often involve petty crimes and stolen property all of which were easy for him to crack and this behavior earned him a bit of ire from his colleagues much to his obviousness. Things came to a twist suddenly around October of 1995 where Edward's commander called for him at his office one evening;

The day was a sunny one, unusually cold but that was to be expected as Fall would begin to set in, from within the office of Deputy Commissioner Dyer the older man sat in his desk overlooking a myriad of paperwork. There never came a day where reports from this unusual town came in, either from nosy hags complaining about the lack of proper police work by the local police or the FBI itself pressuring the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security to do something about the strange disappearances in a lowly place in the middle of nowhere, Cooke County. The name of this place had become as enigmatic as the D. B. Cooper, the Zodiac Killer, and even the Bermuda Triangle or Area 51 but it was almost taboo to discuss it openly among the agents of the department, up until this moment where the letter from the FBI had arrived urging the department to do something about it. The state commissioner had relegated it all down to Dyer who now had to find someone who'd be willing to go into such a blackhole of a case, he hoped he had found it, as he rubbed his eyes in frustration as he then heard a knock on the door.

"Come in," he said with a coarse voice.

"Sir, you wanted to see me?" Agent Edward McKivens said as he peeked his head into the office, the commissioner merely nodded as he signaled him to come in. The young agent entered the room and stood firmly as he fixed his tie and rubbed back his hair trying to look well kept for the deputy commissioner.

"At ease son, I'm not the governor much less the president... Sit down..." Dyer said with a nasally tone. Edward did as instructed and sat right across the DC, his attire was clean and almost brand new compared to the commissioners own, something that surprised the young agent given the man's position.

"So I hear you're one of the up and coming, part of the new generation that wants to tackle all the vile and wretched from the grassroots in order to maintain a civilized society, can expect you shooting for my job any day, really could shape up the department, eh?"

"Well sir, I have always had a desire to help society, be it with investigations or by just working in this office, and I am more than content with my position. But I actually have some recommendations that might make case by case documentation and tackling, if you allow me-" Edwards was just about to take out a notepad before the commissioner gave him an unnamused look.

"I was only kidding son, I really don't care what you have to say" the Commissioner stated dryl leaving Edwards to hide away his notes and recoil back into his seat.

"But what I do care about is the fact you've proven yourself to be a case man in the short time you've been here..." Dyer continued, "I know you also have a taste for something else, the department of Grand theft can be quite boring I know, so I'm throwing you a bone," he slammed a thick file right at the front of Edwards.

"This place has been the bane of our existence for years now, the Bureau wants us to take a look into it but honestly we don't have the budget to rally an entire task force so, you're the lucky pick to handle it."

Edwards was silent as he quietly inspected the file, the front read "COOKE COUNTY MISSING PERSONS FEDERAL REGISTRY" the title sparked a light of curiosity within Edwards as he then glanced at the deputy commissioner who lighted up a cigarette.

"Sir, what's the angle here?" Edwards felt puzzled as he didn't feel like he'd been doing much to earn such a case.

Dyer scoffed, "No angle son, this place has been a taboo topic within the department for as long as i can remember and it's about time we sent someone to figure out what's going on. Who knows, maybe it's just people falling into the ancient well or something," the commissioner puffed smoke nonchalantly.

"Who else is on this sir?" Edwards asked.

"Just you son, the department will provide you with a place to stay at the states expense, just don't expect the Marriott. The local PD is also gonna be notified about a state agent's arrival and that should've been," he checked his watch, "2 hours ago so get moving, bus ticket's inside the file too."

Edwards wasn't sure how to handle this, everything was being loaded onto him so suddenly and he wasn't sure if to feel thankful or frightful.

"Sir, this is a lot to take in, I need to research, I-i need to compile some kind of approach, I don't even have th-"

"Son, the governor, the commissioner, and the Bureau has their hands by my balls, you either get the fuck out of this office and onto that bus by 12 or I'll rip your balls off and make you eat them, understood!"

Edwards gulped, there clearly was no more room for hesitation or pleasantries, "Yes, sir..."

The commissioner nodded, "alright, I expect a progress report by call every week, that file should be enough research for you. Go on now McKivens, best of luck..."

With nothing else left to say Edward took the file and walked out of the office, each step feeling heavy and his shoulders sunken as he could feel sweat dripping down his brow. He had the important case he wanted, he just wasn't sure if it was truly what he wanted now.

Character Application

Name: George William Holmes
Age: 32
Appearance:
Personality: Holmes has an obsessive personality essentially. He works compulsively on all his cases and his deductive powers are phenomenal. He can get engulfed in periods of depression between cases and is known to take cocaine when he cannot stand the lack of activity. He has an in-depth knowledge of music and plays on a Stradivarius that he bought for a song in Tottenham. He is also known to run chemistry experiments in his spare time to the dismay of his landlady Mrs Hudson. He's not known to have had an intimate or romantic relationship with a woman. Here is, according to Dr London's account in A Scandal in Marseille, what he thought of women in general:
“They were admirable things for the observer – excellent for drawing the veil from men's motives and actions. But for the trained reasoner to admit such intrusions into his own delicate and finely adjusted temperament was to introduce a distracting factor which might throw a doubt upon all his mental results.”
Occupation: Consulting private detective
Skills: Knowledge of Literature - Holmes has spent various years and many hours reading the finest of the Europeans. Holmes is a dedicated reader of Classic European Literature and considers it to be a ‘‘defining part of the Western Civilisation’’.

Knowledge of Philosophy - Having spent hours debating the philosophical and logical meaning of life and why people behave the way they do Holmes is a genius regarding the human philosophy of life. He has spent hours studying Nietzsche, Dostoevsky, and Marcus Aurelius.

Knowledge of Politics - Holmes frequently tries to keep up with the current news and what's going on in the world as it is an important part of his profession. As one of the finest detectives to be ever produced he has investigated many Royal scandals such as the Oslo Affair and the Madrid Scandal among them which also provided him with a deep insight into Royal politics.

Knowledge of Chemistry - Holmes is earmarked student of Chemistry and uses his spare time to do experiments some of which at times have proven to be fatal and nearly resulted in his death. Holmes is always researching and experimenting trying to achieve innovations.

Musical Knowledge - Holmes had learnt to play the violin in his teenage years and can play many different masterpieces perfectly and beautifully. Sometimes when solving a case becomes too difficult or confusions flourish he plays his violin in solitude in deep thought until he can solve the puzzle in his mind.

Master Fighter - Holmes is an expert singlestick player, as well as a boxer and marksman. In his early 20s, Holmes participated in underground boxing clubs where he displayed the art of pugilism beautifully. Afterwards, he picked up other essential skills such as marksmanship which proved very useful for his dangerous cases.

Lawful- Holmes is an expert in British law and has studied Her Majesty's law very profoundly and word to word and he uses this knowledge from time to time.

Knowledge of Geology - Practical. Tells at a glance different soils from each other. ‘‘After walks, has shown me splashes upon his trousers, and told me by their colour and consistence in what part of London he had received them.’’ - Holmes to Dr London

Knowledge of Anatomy – Accurate, but unsystematic.

Knowledge of Botany – Variable. Well up in belladonna, opium, and poisons generally.

Holmesian deduction - Holmes observes the dress and attitude of his clients and suspects, noting skin marks (such as tattoos), contamination (such as ink stains or clay on boots), emotional state, and physical condition to deduce their origins and recent history. The style and state of wear of a person's clothes and personal items are also commonly relied on.

Forensic Science - The detective is particularly skilled in the analysis of trace evidence and other physical evidence, including latent prints (such as footprints, hoof prints, and shoe and tire impressions) to identify actions at a crime scene; using tobacco ashes and cigarette butts to identify criminals; handwriting analysis and graphology; comparing typewritten letters to expose a fraud, and analyzing small pieces of human remains to expose two murders.

Disguises - Holmes displays a strong aptitude for acting and disguising to gather evidence undercover he uses disguises so convincing that Dr London fails to recognise him.

Combat - Holmes often carries pistols with him to confront criminals. This includes primarily Glock-17 and Glock-19. As a gentleman, Holmes carries a stick or cane. He is described by London as an expert at singlestick and uses his cane often as a weapon. The detective possesses above-average strength.
"Few men were capable of greater muscular effort."- London

Background:
George William English Holmes was born in 1968 in the great city of London. Holmes's father Sir Edward William English Holmes was a veteran of World War II and had seen the action in the European theatre and Pacific theatre. After the war, his father returned to Britain where he was Knighted by His Majesty, King George VI and was honoured with the prestigious and rare Victoria Cross for his exceptional services to the United Kingdom and the Empire. His father became involved in British politics and was elected as a member of the parliament in the House Of Commons. It was during these days that his father met a gorgeous French Mademoiselle named Sara Marie Dupont. Holmes's father courted Miss Dupont and eventually married her and settled in West London. In the 1960s Holmes's father lost the Parliamentary Elections to his Labour rival and eventually retired to his West London mansion. Sir Edward and Miss Dupont gave birth to their first child in 1962 Paul Holmes and after two years gave birth to two twins named Jean Pierre Marie and Harold English Holmes. Finally, in 1968 they gave birth to their fourth and final child George William English Holmes.

George Holmes's upbringing wasn't any different from his siblings. He went to a posh school and was a very bright and outstanding student with Mathematics, Science, and Arts being his strongholds. George was taught French, German, Russian, Italian and Spanish aside from English. When Holmes was 16 his mother passed away due to cancer and he was raised under the guidance of his father who taught him skills such as marksmanship, boxing, law and medical assistance in times of emergency. Holmes went to Oxford and Cambridge University where he acquired different degrees and performed exceptionally well. When he was 20 his father passed away which sent him into a state of shock and it didn't take him long to pursue a career as a detective. When he was in Cambridge he befriended Dr. Christopher London who served as a doctor in British Army during Malayan Emergency. Both lads went on multiple risky adventures spanning Europe and beyond. Holmes's office is on Baker Street, London

One early morning Holmes was sitting in his office. As usual, his office smelled of coffee and tobacco newspapers and different books were lying open on his table and one notebook had disturbing and mysterious pictures with different notes to it. Holmes took out his pipe and stuffed it with tobacco and lighted it. He took a big giant puff from his pipe and picked up the DailyMail newspaper. Began to read:

‘‘Quebec independentists narrowly lose a referendum for a mandate to negotiate independence from Canada’’; Well, that's interesting. I wonder what would happen next time, anyway next headline: ‘‘Tansu Çiller of DYP forms the new government of Turkey’’
Hmm, nice. Next: ‘‘Michel Mayor and Didier Queloz announced the discovery of 51 Pegasi b, the first confirmed extrasolar planet orbiting an ordinary main-sequence star.’’ Voila! Now that's the news. There are many like them out there just waiting to be discovered and explored which would take a long time if only our governments were ready to take concrete measures and focus the attention on real issues.

Holmes took another puff from his pipe and turned the page when he read something which caught his interest:

“WANTED: INQUIRING MINDS!!! TO INVESTIGATE DISAPPEARANCES IN SMALL TOWN!! $$$ROOM AND BOARD$$$ INCLUDED ON RANCH STYLE PROPERTY, $$ALL XPENSES PAID!!$$ CALL THIS NUMBER FOR AN INTERVIEW AND AWAIT FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS!”

‘‘Hmm, I think it's finally time that I and London eventually visit the United States. Let me reach out to the London real quick.’’

Holmes stood up opened the door and came out of his office on the street. Baker Street was busy as usual with people going to their businesses. Holmes went to the nearest K6 and rang Dr. London
who picked up on the other side:
‘‘Dr. London here’’.

‘‘Good Morning, London!’’

‘‘Holmes’’?

‘‘Yes, it's me.’’

‘‘Ugh, what is it this time?’’

‘‘I was thinking it has been a long time since we had tea together why don't you come up and we can have a little chat.’’

‘‘Holmes, what is it? I know you aren't keen on having tea with me.’’

‘‘OK, listen I was reading today's newspaper when I came across this ad: “WANTED: INQUIRING MINDS!!! TO INVESTIGATE DISAPPEARANCES IN SMALL TOWN!! $$$ROOM AND BOARD$$$ INCLUDED ON RANCH STYLE PROPERTY, $$ALL XPENSES PAID!!$$ CALL THIS NUMBER FOR AN INTERVIEW AND AWAIT FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS!”

‘‘And?’’

‘‘We need to investigate it, London. We can't let this opportunity get away from our hands.’’

‘‘Holmes, you know I can't come I'm with Mary. She'd be very angry if she found out.’’

‘‘Ah, C'mon chap! Convince Mary she's your wife plus she will understand.’’

‘‘Sorry, Holmes I can't. Listen, why don't you go across the Atlantic and asses the situation there and then we can see’’?

‘‘Hmm, London you'd lament passing this opportunity.’’

‘‘Don't worry old sport you go and perhaps by chance I'll join you.’’

In the next days Holmes packed his equipment and clothes and applied for a visa to the United States and started preparation for his next adventure and perhaps this time alone.

OP might be busy. I know I've been; hence another delay to my app. :c

Speaking of which, I'm just gonna post the WIP app Tuesday since that's my day off; I'm torn between just one or two characters, which has been one of the smaller factors to my delayed posting.
