Hey there, wanted to ask a question considering one of the rules about characters east of the free cities. Would playing Euron Greyjoy be acceptable? I don't believe it is stated exactly where he is in 298AC, but he returns to Pyke as early as A Clash of Kings. So just wanted to see if he was an option considering he is likely well east of the free cities at the point of 298AC in the original lore.

House Name: House Baratheon of Kings Landing
Sigil: The Arms of both House Lannister and House Baratheon equally split the arms of Prince Joffrey.
Words:
House Culture: Stormlander/Lannister
House Head: Prince Joffrey Baratheon
Titles: Heir Apparent to the Iron Throne
Holdings/Lands: Joffs Bedroom
Allegiance: King Robert
Military Strength: N/A
House History: House Bratheon of Kingslanding is the Royal house of the Seven Kingdoms, led currently by King Robert I Baratheon the first of that house to Rule Westeros. Robert won the throne 15 years past during the War Known as "Roberts Rebllion" in which he ousted the Mad King, Aerys Targeryen, and ended that houses rule of Westeros. As sitting Lord Paramount of the Stormlands, Robert took the throne and handed that Lordship to his youngest brother Renly. To his other brother Stannis he gave Dragonstone.

All was well in Roberts reign, other than the fact that Robert refused to rule. War was the only thing the King seemed to live for, that alongside whores and wine. The latter two Robert got in as much quantity as he could ask for, it was the former however he seemed to lust for the most and now had no way of gaining, until the Greyjoy rebellion that is. Roberts reign was at its pinnacle when the Iron Islands rebelled, all Seven Kingdoms united in some form or another to put down the rebellion and the Lord of the Isles stood no chance.

Now, Robert has a new hand in Eddard Stark, his best friend. His son and heir Joffrey is a good lad, if needing to be reigned in somewhat and to be pried off his mothers teat. Robert stands ready to rule for many more years to come, but first, there is boar to hunt.
List of House Characters: Joffrey Baratheon, Tommen Baratheon, Myrcella Baratheon

Character Name: Joffrey Baratheon
Titles: Heir Apparent to the Iron Throne
Age: 12
Culture: Stormlander/Westerlander
Appearance:
Personality: A prideful, cruel, sadistic, young boy with an arrogant and stubborn streak that often times ends in pain, either for himself or more often, others. He is not without intelligence, wit, or other skills which would make him a good ruler, they are just often times overruled by his more unwanted side thanks to his poor upbringing and lack of advisors willing to teach him right and wrong.
Skills: Joffrey has been raised to rule since he was born, it is his right, his destiny, his birthright. As such he has been taught the necessary skills needed to rule a kingdom, he just often times refuses to use them. He is an adequate swordsman though he rarely puts effort into what he sees as little more than a sport. He is also a skilled rider, and a poor shot with the crossbow at best.
Religion: The Seven
Character Biography: Joffrey grew up as a spoiled and indulgent child with a cruel streak within him. His father, King Robert I Baratheon, is deeply disappointed with his son and feels little affection for Joffrey– nor did he like the fact that Joffrey would always cry whenever Robert picked him up. It is implied that Joffrey craves Robert's respect and approval, and many of his acts are done in an effort to live up to his father's standards.

Once after learning a kitchen cat was pregnant, Joffrey killed the animal and cut open its belly to see the kittens inside. He showed one of the unborn kittens to his father. Robert was so shocked and angry he hit Joffrey so hard it knocked out two of his baby teeth. It was a mere sign of what was to come later in the boys life.

I'd be cool with a Euron player joining up. Sounds like it'd be more fun than the Iron Isles just sitting around and doing the normal things.

May tweak the personality and bio a bit more, but here's the app, for the most part.

House Name: House Arryn of Gulltown
Sigil: Bleu celeste, upon a plate a falcon volant of the field.
Image

Words: "As High as Honour"
House Culture: Valeman
House Head: Lord Osric Arryn
Titles: Lord of Gull Hall
Holdings/Lands:
The Castle of Gull Hall, Gulltown
Image

Allegiance: House Grafton of Gulltown - House Arryn of the Eyrie. While the Graftons are their de jure liege, in practice they have always followed the lead of the Gulltown Arryns, going back to their staunch support of Lord Isambard Arryn's bid for the Vale following Jeyne Arryn's death in 134 AC. The Lord Treasurers serving House Grafton have often come from the Arryns of Gulltown, and both families have very close ties. Over the past few generations the Gulltown Arryns have come to control the town in all but name, dominating trade and becoming the financial backers of their Grafton lord to such an extent that the Graftons would become bankrupt without them. It is sometimes joked that the Graftons are puppets of the Gulltown Arryns, and that if the Lord of Gull Hall told them to whore themselves out, they would simply ask "what price?"
Military Strength: 1,000 men (220 light infantry, 320 heavy infantry, 180 crossbowmen, 130 archers, 150 knights). 15 ships (1 heavy dromond, 4 dromonds and 10 galleys stationed in Gulltown harbour). Being richer than their Lord Paramount cousins is all very well, but their lack of bannermen and land of their own ensures that they are primarily reliant on sellswords, free riders and hedge knights of varying quality to supplement the small number of men under their command. As such, the majority of the men and ships the Gulltown Arryns use in battle are hired swords and opportunistic adventurers rather than trustworthy knights and men-at-arms. Frequently trading with Braavos, they have often utilised Braavosi mercenaries and sellsails in the past.

Among the mercenaries linked to the Gulltown Arryns, Ser Triston Stone commands a company of 800 men (a diverse group of 100 Vale hedge knights, 170 Westerosi mercenary infantry, 50 Ironborn reavers, 100 Braavosi swordsmen, 100 Pentoshi spearmen, 80 Norvoshi axemen, 150 Myrish crossbowmen and 50 Summer Islander archers) and 9 vessels (1 heavy dromond, 1 heavy galleas, 4 galleys, 2 cogs and 1 carrack). Ser Triston's force tends to be used for the family's "dirty work" such as smuggling, piracy, shipwrecking, assassinations and other tasks. His force is sometimes away fighting in Essos, or raiding merchant shipping in certain areas of the Narrow Sea or further afield.

Within Gulltown itself, the Gulltown City Watch, numbering around 1,800 men, are practically owned by the Gulltown Arryns. While well-equipped and trained, they are not particularly experienced or capable in battle. Being more used to dealing with criminals, smugglers and gangs than anything else, they can be considered primarily a garrison force, and are unlikely to venture far beyond Gulltown proper. The Gulltown Arryns also maintain a number of merchant ships such as galleys, cogs and carracks for transport and trade. If need be, they can be employed to transport resources and troops, or converted into makeshift warships, though they are not well-suited for battle. If one were to combine their usual forces, plus Ser Triston Stone's mercenaries and the City Watch, the family's military strength would equal around 3,600 men and 24 ships. If they have the support of House Grafton, then they may also have the assistance of 3-4,000 Grafton men and their Gulltown-based fleet of 45 ships.

House History:
Rodrik Arryn (44 AC - 97 AC)
Osric Arryn (63 AC - 130 AC)
Isembard Arryn (90 AC - 163 AC)
Petyr Arryn (111 AC - 170 AC)
Osric Arryn (140 AC - 198 AC)
Osgood Arryn (160 AC - 217 AC)
Ronnel Arryn (178 AC - 234 AC)
Andar Arryn (209 AC - 268 AC)
Creighton Arryn (225 AC - 296 AC)
Osric Arryn (276 - present)

House Arryn of Gulltown split from the lordly branch in the reign of King Jaehaerys I Targaryen, going into trade and becoming rich. After the death of Lady Jeyne Arryn of the lordly branch, Isembard Arryn of the Gulltown Arryns attempted to claim the Eyrie, backed by House Grafton. However he was eventually forced to submit to her chosen successor Joffrey Arryn.

Founded during the reign of Jaehaerys the Conciliator by the second son of Lord Rodrik Arryn, Osric Arryn established what would eventually become the mercantile cadet branch of the venerable House of Arryn in the city of Gulltown by dealing with local trading guilds, negotiating trade deals on behalf of House Arryn. Proving adept in his duties, Osric quickly came to enjoy the lucrative aspect of business and soon made the sole city of the Vale a permanent home for him and his kin. In his later years he went to further lengths in negotiating deals, offering daughters in exchange for gold and property, but it was his son Isembard that most frequently springs to mind when one considers the affluent merchant family.

Dubbed the Gilded Falcon for his wealth and his personal sigil, Isembard was a man of opportunity most well known for his failed attempt at pushing his claim on the Eyrie following the death of Lady Jeyne, buying what loyalty his name and words failed to inspire with gold instead. Ultimately, his ambitions were foiled by Corwyn Corbray, but his luck turned around when he was appointed to the Small Council as Master of Coin upon the personal suggestion of Alyn Oakenfist following Hand of the King Torrhen Manderly's request for a man good with coin to counter the financial ruin members of House Rogare had inflicted upon the Seven Kingdoms.

Together, Lord Manderly and the Gilded Falcon made numerous reforms and changes that would have a long-lasting effect upon the finances of the Crown. Even after his tenure in King's Landing, Isembard maintained an innovative stance, setting aside long-held pride to welcome the gold and wits of the commonfolk from wide and far, thus sealing his family's status as purveyors of wealth. To this day, House Arryn of Gulltown still maintains a direct hand in the flow of trade, ignorant or uncaring of the improper nature of it. Proud and pragmatic, the scions of the golden falcon continue to look at the horizon in the never-ceasing pursuit of ambition.

In 138 AC Isembard Arryn ordered the construction of a keep along the cliffs overlooking Gulltown, intending for it to be the family's main residence outside the city. During the construction, he employed architects, engineers and artisans from as far as Myr, Qohor and Tyrosh. The keep of Gull Hall would be gradually enlarged over the succeeding generations until the castle reached its current size, dwarfing the old Grafton keep at the other end of the city. Alongside their old manse within the city, Gull Hall has come to serve the family well over the succeeding century and a half. Gull Hall has become emblematic of the family's wealth and importance in Gulltown, much as their cousins in the Eyrie might like to pretend they don't exist.

By the time of Osgood Arryn (160 AC - 217 AC, reigned 198 AC until his death), the Gulltown Arryns had come to control over half the harbour's trade. They also practically ruled over a district of the town informally known as "Titan's Town", for the large numbers of Braavosi living there, mostly consisting of merchants, craftsmen, sailors, sellswords and their families, effectively forming an unofficial trading colony. During Osgood's rule, regulations were relaxed within the section of the harbour leading to Titan's Town, allowing Braavosi traders and merchants to avoid delays due to paperwork, and less thorough searches conducted by port officials and guards. As long as a ship had a Braavosi license, they could dock at Titan's Town. Naturally, there was always an opportunity for these privileges to be abused, but the Arryns made it so that they had a firm grip on both legal and illegal affairs in the city. Those engaging in smuggling and other illegal activities had to come to a profitable arrangement with the Arryns, lest they lose their privileges and be thrown in jail or barred from the port. The Graftons likewise profited, and turned a blind eye as long as things were kept behind closed doors.

By the time of his grandson Andar Arryn (209 AC - 268 AC), the Gulltown Arryns had long-standing ties with a number of influential trade organisations, merchants and aristocratic families in Braavos, Pentos, Lorath and Myr. They maintained a humble approach, avoiding excessive greed or overly bold and ambitious plans, instead focusing on a carefully planned, piecemeal style of growth that was open to compromise and avoided coming across as too drastic or threatening to the interests of the major players on either side of the Narrow Sea.

While they are most known for their wealth and mercantile pursuits, the Gulltown Arryns have by no means forgotten their martial origins. Most men of the Gulltown Arryns serve as knights, while also learning about trade and financial affairs. Some are better warriors than they are merchants, and vice versa. Those among them that take up knighthood seriously, can be as capable as any proud knight of the Vale, even if the main line of the family looks down upon them.

The previous Lord of Gull Hall, Lord Creighton Arryn, was regarded as a fair and just lord who handled the affairs of his family with diligent care and was considered an excellent swordsman. Charismatic and perceptive, he had a knack for making friends. Though proud, pragmatism always led the patriarch's path amidst the politics and cutthroat dealing of high lords and merchant princes. During his rule, Lord Creighton maintained a firm stance in securing domestic interests in Gulltown, though in his later years began focusing outside the Vale. During Robert's Rebellion, Lord Grafton and his bannermen remained loyal to the Targaryens. The Arryns of Gulltown were place in a difficult position, with their old ally and liege lord going up against their kinsmen at the Eyrie. They wished neither to create a rift with the Graftons nor end up on the losing side of a major war, so they were initially noncommittal.

Nonetheless, when push came to shove, they had no choice put to defend their home when an army came marching towards the city. Lord Creighton Arryn was among the defenders of Gulltown. During the battle, his liege, Marq Grafton, was personally slain by Robert Baratheon. Creighton himself narrowly avoided the same fate, being injured and almost having Robert's warhammer cave his skull in at one point in the battle. A cousin leading the City Watch at the time was not so lucky, however, and perished in the fighting. Among those present, Lyn Corbray won his knighthood fighting alongside House Grafton at the gates of Gulltown. Both Lyn Corbray and Creighton Arryn were among the the nobles that submitted following the battle, joining Jon Arryn's host as it went down to the Trident. For their poor choice in the rebellion, the Graftons found themselves reduced in power and wealth by Robert's post-war decree, though the new Lord Gerold Grafton was not punished too harshly for his father's actions. The Gulltown Arryns, meanwhile, were left completely untouched and quickly found themselves filling in the power vacuum as House Grafton weakened. As they did so, the Graftons became increasingly within their debt, with a majority of their funds deriving from sources and channels controlled by the Gulltown Arryns. Now, the Gulltown Arryns rule Gulltown in all but name.

Since then, the Arryns of Gulltown have done as they always have, enriching themselves, forming connections with merchants and aristocratic families alike, while keeping an eye on the political situation of the Vale and Westeros at large. From time to time, members of their family travel to engage in trade deals outside of Gulltown, or to engage with other nobility in the usual fashion. The Arryns of Gulltown have long-standing financial connections with Braavos and Pentos. To a lesser extent, they also trade with Lorath, Myr and Tyrosh. In Westeros, they also maintain close trade links with White Harbour, Maidenpool, Duskendale and King's Landing. As such, their visits can include a number of trade ports along both sides of the Narrow Sea.

Character Name: Lord Osric Arryn
Titles: Lord of Gull Hall, "The White Falcon"
Age: 22
Culture: Valeman
Appearance: 5'10", 145lbs. Osric has his the sky-blue eyes of an Arryn, coupled with his mother's Valyrian features; flowing, silver-white hair and pale skin. ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Personality:
The Lord of Gull Hall is a man who acknowledges tradition yet remains flexible to pragmatism, viewing unbending arrogance and obsession with honour to be a hinderance rather than a merit. At the same time, he values maintaining a good image, and does not enjoy the disdain heaped upon the Gulltown Arryns by their cousins in the Eyrie. As he sees it, there should be no further cause for disrepute if possible. While the Gulltown Arryns are typically seen as merchants rather than knights, Osric decidedly leans towards the later, priding himself in his accomplishments in that field. Ever fond of martial pursuits, he prefers wielding a blade and achieving accomplishments in battle over counting gold coins in a merchant's guild, though he is quite able to do so when need be. It can be said that he enjoys wealth, but finds the process of its acquisition boring. Osric is ambitious, fancying himself a potential second coming of the Falcon Knight, King Artys I Arryn. Naturally, he aspires to see himself holding the position of Lord Paramount of the Eyrie.

Despite the words of House Arryn, he doesn't care much for honour, beyond maintaining a façade for the sake of his reputation. He knows the usefulness of reputation, and tries to avoid staining his own, though when push comes to shove, he will not let it get in the way of a great enough opportunity. He has no qualms with ordering an assassination or making a shady diplomatic arrangement as long as it works and the results are tangible. He disdains lords who sit around politicking or have never picked up a blade in their life. In battle, even if he may be eager to delve into the fray, Osric pushes himself to remain calm, patient and observant before taking action. In duels, he can sometimes reveal a bit of a ruthless, vicious streak, though Osric is likely to avoid showing that tendency in the face of many onlookers. After all, it would lessen the image he likes to present, as that of a chivalrous and gallant knight. That said, he is not completely without a conscience, and does places value in his family and friends, beyond simply analysing others in terms of how they may further his ambitions. He is well-read enough in history to understand how blind pursuit of power can result in people gradually losing everything around them until the point that even if they have technically succeeded in their goal, the remainder of their life is far from happy. As such, he tries to be mindful of the bigger picture outside of himself and his goals, considering how those around him may be affected by his choices.

Osric is aware of his good looks, and can perhaps be considered somewhat vain. While he does also have a proclivity to chose and collect the finest, highest quality wine, clothing, exotic trinkets, etc when given the option, he does not fixate over such things to the point of distraction. While prideful of his heritage, talent and appearance, Osric is not easily moved by offensive words or behaviour, and can sometimes make self-deprecating and sarcastic remarks. With regards to others, he does not disregard people on the basis of their birth. Though he will not completely ignore birth, influence and background either, he prioritises talent and experience. If others happen to underestimate him and assume him to simply be a shallow, overly indulgent aristocrat, then they may find themselves misjudging him. This may at least be partially intentional, with Osric being well aware of the power of reputation and appearance, though he may not be perfectly adept at manipulating such things to his favour. Even if Osric is not a master schemer, he is reasonably intelligent, and avoids acting rashly if he can help it, judging the situation before speaking or acting. Not that he isn't immune to making mistakes or succumbing to his flaws at times, though at least he is self-aware enough in this matter. While he may have been a bit more impetuous when he was younger, Osric is keenly aware that a lord cannot afford to charge blindly into situations. He makes an active effort to withstand the urge to act without thinking in important situations, though outside of that he may be prone to indulging in various frivolities and diversions. When insulted, he usually maintains the appearance of civility, though Osric may in truth simply be hiding his resentment beneath a smile, biding his time until a more appropriate chance to right whatever wrongs have been done against him.

He is quite protective of his appearance, and he would be decidedly irate should someone attempt to mar his looks or damage his clothing. Usually drinks in moderation and always keeps sober before battle. Easily distracted by a pretty face, Osric has been known to visit brothels from time to time, and has slept with both women and men. Some of said brothels are high-end establishments over in Braavos. Of course, he has also visited Braavos more often than not to engage in trade deals between Gulltown and the Iron Bank or the merchants of Braavos. The bit about brothels is just a bonus. So he tells himself, anyway. That said, whoring may be a bit more of a vice of his than he is willing to admit, and could potentially be used to manipulate or blackmail him. He seems to find visiting them easier than committing to a more long term, deeper relationship. That, and committing to a marriage might limit his freedom to enjoy such diversions. As a side note, visiting Braavos has made him at least somewhat aware of the varied faiths of the city. As a result, he can be considered more open-minded and religiously tolerant than the average Westerosi, though he remains faithful to the Seven. He has often enjoyed learning about different cultures, faiths and peoples. As for whether or not he will remain openminded or develop greater fervour for the Seven in the future, remains to be seen. He has a fondness for cats and birds of prey. In particular, he is an avid falconer.

Skills: Osric is considered a superb swordsman by those who know him. An excellent rider and quite capable with a lance. Good with a crossbow and passable with a bow. Decent in unarmed combat. Quite proficient at managing financial/mercantile affairs, but finds it boring. Knows several languages; the Common Tongue, the Trade Tongue, the Braavosi dialect of Low Valyrian and High Valyrian (though with the last he is a bit rusty). Good at falconry. Has some knowledge of leadership, tactics and strategy, though his actual experience is limited, being more theoretical than practical.
Religion: Faith of the Seven
Character Biography:
Osric was born in 276 AC to Lord Creighton Arryn of Gull Hall and Saera of House Velaryon. His mother was the daughter of Lord Lucerys Velaryon of Driftmark (230 AC - 285 AC), who at the time was Master of Ships and Lord Admiral under King Aerys II. At the time, Lord Lucerys desired connections with the wealthy trade port of Gulltown, and so arranged a married between his oldest daughter and Lord Creighton. Saera's mother was Princess Vaella Targaryen (222 AC - 283 AC), daughter of Prince Daeron Targaryen and Kiera of Tyrosh. As such, the normally sidelined Gulltown Arryns have more prestigious blood than they are used to, flowing through their veins. From an early age, he was taught to be proud of his lineage, even if his branch of the Arryns was regarded as uncouth and dishonourable by their cousins in the Eyrie.

While the Gulltown Arryns had grown rich through Gulltown's trade and close ties with the city's merchants, Osric had little interest in mercantile affairs, making it quite clear to the family's Maester that he would rather do other things, much to the frustration of his father. That said, when coerced, he was entirely capable of showing a decent understanding of financial affairs in Gulltown, though he took no pleasure in discussing the topic. Instead, he much preferred it when his father taught him in swordplay. He was also taught High Valyrian by his mother, and enjoyed hearing the history and tales of her Velaryon and Targaryen forebears, ranging from Alyn the Oakfenfist and Corlys the Sea Snake to Aegon the Conqueror and Daenys the Dreamer. At home, he was studious and diligent, particularly when it came to matters of history and warfare. Osric was also fond of mythology and folklore, and enjoyed learning about the exploits of the Winged Knight and other great heroes of the Vale, be they mythical or otherwise. He also displayed a fondness for hunting and falconry.

While he enjoyed these pastimes, his father also made sure to teach him his own philosophy. Creighton would highlight the importance of keeping family safe, of the lengths one should go to in order to protect one's own blood. Creighton’s own sister had drowned in their youth; an event which the Lord of Gull Hall never truly left behind him. It left behind an appreciation for the ease in which the Stranger could take away those close to you, and the belief that those precious to you should be appreciated and protected as much as possible, though not to the point of coddling. Osric took his father's words to heart, and before he slept each night he would utter a quiet prayer to the Seven; he would stand the line of defence between his family and any harm the world would seek to do to them, he would bear this burden gladly, for they were his kin, and the Seven had seen fit to put him first in line.

As a child, he had something of a curious, adventurous spirit, and a bit of a mischievous streak. Osric occasionally snuck off and dressed as a commoner, occasionally dying his hair brown to fit in, or when he couldn't, attempting to masquerade as the child of one of the Lyseni merchants or traders that visited Gulltown from time to time. He sometimes spent time befriending the common children, or playing with the cats in the harbour or alleyways of Gulltown. The young heir of Gull Hall often pestered his father and uncles about visiting distant relatives such as the Arryns of Eastweald or the Arryns of the Falcon's Finger, or the far-flung lands from his which family's business associates came. He was obliged on several ocassions, being brought to visit the sights of Braavos when his father or one of his other relatives had business there. Osric also accompanied his father further closer to home. He was among those present at the infamous 281 AC tourney at Harrenhal where Rhaegar crowned Lyanna Queen of Beauty, though he was only five at the time, and accompanied his father there.

During Robert's Rebellion Osric was at Gulltown when Robert Baratheon and Jon Arryn took the city. Being six years old at the time, there wasn't much he could do. His father fought in defence of Gulltown, however, before submitting and joining the rebel forces. It was in the aftermath of this battle that Lyn Corbray was knighted. Being an old friend of the young knight's father, Lord Creighton convinced the young knight to talk his son as a page. Thus, he would join his father and the Corbrays under Jon Arryn's host as it went south, though on account of his age he was mostly kept at the baggage train during the battle of the Trident. At one point stragglers from the Dornish vanguard were cut off from their main force, and several got within range. Making use of a crossbow, he was lucky enough to hit a man-at-arms in the neck. Other than that, Osric remained a spectator for the most part, only helping wounded soldiers, horses moving supplies around when needed as the fighting raged on. He recalls a lull in the fighting as men from both sides watched Rhaegar Targaryen and Robert Baratheon fight, before the former was struck down. Though he did not see it at the time, his father claimed he slew Ser Jonothor Darry in the battle.

Following the battle and the conclusion of Robert's Rebellion over the subsequent year, he continued serving as a page until becoming Ser Lyn Corbray's squire at the age of nine. There have been some rumours regarding his squiring under Lyn Corbray, especially after the bearer of Lady Forlorn developed a reputation for sleeping with boys. Whether or not anything did occur is unclear, and Osic would naturally deny any such accusations. While Osric has spoken of Lyn Corbray in a manner that suggests he holds him in high regard as a warrior, he also seems to have no desire to be anywhere near the man.

While Osric was serving as Ser Lyn Corbray's squire, Jon Arryn appointed Petyr Baelish to be in charge of customs at Gulltown, during which he increased the port's income tenfold. During Littlefinger's stay there, he became well acquainted with the Graftons and the Gulltown Arryns. In particular, Lord Baelish came to an arrangement with them, giving them a considerable profit in return for being allowed to make use of their resources, knowledge and influential connections when increasing the port's income. The Gulltown Arryns, meanwhile, were impressed. Osric's uncle Osfryd, who in his capacity as harbourmaster worked closely with Littlefinger on customs, went so far as to say Lord Baelish might even be half as good with money as the Gilded Falcon was back in the day.

For his achievements during an expedition against marauding Mountain Clans, he was subsequently knighted at the age of 16 (292 AC). Nicknamed the White Falcon, Osric performed well in duels, tourneys and hunting expeditions in the Vale, though remaining relatively unknown outside. From time to time, he would attend important events in the Eyrie and King's Landing. While able to fit in and adapt to social gatherings, he found the not-so-subtle scheming and elaborate etiquette somewhat tiresome. On occasion he tried his hand at dabbling in alchemy, though he never got much further than parlour tricks. Nonetheless, he came to retain some interest in alchemy and mysticism, even if his knowledge of such matters was not particularly deep. He was sometimes known to consort with alchemists from King's Landing and Lys, sorcerers from Qohor and warlocks from Qarth.

As he grew up, his looks did not go unnoticed. It was joked that if he dressed the part, many would assume him to be the daughter of Lord Creighton, rather than his son. Understandably, various rumours and tales have subsequently arisen over the past few years. Some of these originate from his visits to brothels in his early teens. Whilst serving as squire to Ser Lyn Corbray, he would return to Gulltown from time to time. Though he was a bit reluctant initially, a childhood friend of his, the outgoing and worldly Uther Shett of the Gull Keep Shetts, kept encouraging him to visit brothels. Annoyed at his reticence, Uther plied with enough alcohol that the 14-year old Osric no longer cared, and brought him over to his favourite establishment down by the harbour.

To Osric's ire, talk soon emerged afterwards that the young noble was a masochist and a crossdresser, though Osric was too drunk to remember what happened at the time. All he knows is that as far as he is concerned claims he dressed as the High Septon "being punished for his sins", a tavern wench or a captured Targaryen Princess are unfounded. Likewise with claims that he had the whores refer to him as "King Osric VI of Mountain and Vale". What started with a drunken indiscretion of youth would develop into a vice of his from that point onwards. At least in Westeros, though, he would try to avoid being too blatant with his visits to such establishments.

Around the same time, his father had been trying to arrange a marriage to a daughter of House Waynwood of Ironoaks. Normally rather prideful and uptight, it had been difficult for Lord Creighton to get them to listen to the suggestion. When Osric was told about it, he was initially ambivalent, not being particularly keen on married off to some unknown girl, though he knew the practical necessity for marriage alliances.

A few weeks later, he met the daughter of Lady Anya of Ironoaks, a girl by the name of Amabel Waynwood. Needless to say, he did not exactly get on her. She had the typical horse-faced look of the Waynwoods, and she made little attempt to hide her disdain for the Gulltown Arryns and their involvement with "lowborn merchants". As far as she saw it, the only good thing going for Osric was his looks. Osric was not exactly impressed, to say the least. He promptly asked his father to put a stop to the arrangement, but Creighton refused. Not long after, Osric decided he'd had enough. In the following months, he spent an increasing amount of time among certain establishments in Gulltown. He "happened" to father two children with with prostitutes in Gulltown that year. When Lady Anya was informed of Osric's unanticipated siring of bastards with whores, she immediately put a stop to discussions.

His father would change tactics, not wanting any more reputation-damaging scandals. From that point on Creighton took a softer approach. Rather than seeking to arrange a marriage without asking him, he mentioned various eligible noblewomen to him from time to time, gradually trying to encourage him to warm to the idea himself. Osric, meanwhile, was often evasive, seemingly having trouble making a personal commitment of that sort, but apparently having little issue visiting prostitutes, much to Lord Creighton's annoyance.

Hoping to encourage him to develop more of an appreciation for the responsibilities he would come to have when he succeeded Gull Hall, Creighton had him visit Essos with his uncle and his mercenaries. Starting from when he was 17, he spent two years travelling around the Free Cities and Essos, going as far as Morosh in the north and as far as New Ghis in the south. By the time he came back, although he had not changed completely, Osric had a greater understanding of the necessities of leadership, and of the pragmatism and adaptability needed in a leader, as well as some experience with warfare in the Disputed Lands, where his uncle fought for Myr and later Lys. Returning aged 19, he subsequently sired another child, this time from a prostitute at Stoney Sept, while visiting the Riverlands. While consigning himself to the fact that some vices would never change, Lord Creighton could at least be content that his son would be better equipped to succeed him.

In late 297 AC, his father Lord Creighton, passed away at the age of 72. Thus it was that the young White Falcon came to the Lordship of Gull Hall. Over the past year he has mostly left financial affairs to other members of the family, only becoming personally involved when necessary. Instead, he focused more on honing his martial prowess, alongside hunting and whoring. As for now, he still has yet to marry. It has sometimes been joked that he simply has standards that are set too high, and that he would only be willing to accept a bride whose beauty rivals his own. In truth, he is coming round to the idea, but has the hope that whoever he marries will be more than just a political match.

With Jon Arryn dead, and his sickly, mentally challenged child the new Lord Paramount, potential claimants to the Eyrie are practically lining up, hoping that he dies in his sleep and they get a chance at becoming Lord of the Vale themselves. Osric is one such individual, though he has enough decorum not to be too blatant about it. That, and the fact that Lysa Arryn would probably have him tossed out the Moon Door for speaking too boldly against her precious son. He hopes to have Houses Royce, Grafton and Hunter on side, should things develop to putting another Arryn in charge of the Vale. He has also contemplated arranging marriages for his youngest siblings to other families of the Vale, particularly Houses Redfort, Belmore or Melcolm. He sees Ser Harrold Hardyng as the main rival should "Sweetrobin" kick the bucket. While the man is a capable knight and charismatic enough, as far as Osric sees it, Harry is a Hardyng, and simply adopting his grandmother's Arryn name will not change that.

House Name: House Greyjoy
Sigil: A golden kraken on black
Words: We do not sow
House Culture: Iron Islander
House Head: Balon Greyjoy
Titles: Lord and Great Reaper of the Iron Islands
Holdings/Lands: Pyke
Allegiance: Baratheon of King's Landing (enforced by conquest and wardship over his heir Theon Greyjoy, no true allegiance)
Military Strength: One hundred ships armed with scorpions and spitfyres forming the Iron Fleet.
House History:

House Greyjoy was formed is ages past, during the age of heroes by the Grey King. Well, before Aegon's conquest the Iron Islands chose kings through the rite of Kingsmoot. The Greyjoys produced some of the most High Kings, bested only by the families Greyiron and Goodbrother. It was in fact, a Greyiron, Rognar II that ruled during the invasion of the Andals. Seeing an opportunity to remove a rival, the Greyjoys aligned with the Andals in the invasion of the Iron Islands. Removing Rognar II Greyiron and instilling Harras Hoare. The first of house Hoare who would rule as kings of the Iron Islands for over a century.

Then came the days of Aegon's Conquest. Harren Hoare, grandson of Harwyn Hoare the High King who conquered the riverlands, had completed his massive castle known today as the cursed Harrenhal. This castle would be the doom of house Hoare, and with his death the riverlands were granted to house Tully. The Iron Islands fell into disarray in the wake of the loss. Allowing Aegon the conqueror to easily subdue the islands. Once they bent the knee, Aegon was kind and just, allowing them to choose whom among them would rise to supremacy within the Isles. So long as they remained loyal to him. Lord Vickon Greyjoy, of Pyke, was selected. Since that day in 2 AC, the Greyjoys have maintained control as lords of the Iron Islands.

House Greyjoy follows the Drowned God. Going so far as to expel priests and worshippers of other faiths from their Isles. The exception came early in the reign of Aegon I. Being a follower of the Faith of the Seven, Vickon Greyjoy lifted this ban and allowed septons and septas into the Islands to preach the faith. This caused several rebellions within the Islands. One such rebellion, led by Lodos the Twice Drowned, was stomped out by Vickon's own son and successor, Geron Greyjoy in 37 AC. For his bravery and valor in quelling this rebellion, Aenys I granted Geron a boon of anything he desired that was within the power of the crown. Geron asked for the Islands to be allowed to expel the Faith of the Seven once more. A boon which Aenys I begrudgingly accepted.

Lord Dalton Greyjoy, Lord of the Iron Islands during the time of the Dance of Dragons, chose to lend his allegiance to the "Blacks". Supporting Rhaenyra Targaryen's claim for the Iron Throne. Dalton and the Iron Islanders raided the coasts of Westeros throughout the Targaryen civil war and beyond. Even refusing to stop their raiding after the ascension of Aegon III and the end of the Dance. This led to a battle with the Velaryon fleet. Thought Lord Dalton's rebellious actions were ended, not by the crown or by Lord Alyn Velaryon's fleet. But rather, by his own Salt Wife, a woman by the name Tess. Dalton's Heir Toron succeeded amid a struggle for power among the many lower Ironborn houses.

In the Wake of Robert's Rebellion, Lord Balon Greyjoy declared independence from the seven kingdoms. Building the Iron Fleet to its current glory. He declared himself High King of the Iron Islands in a return to the old ways. The rebellion began in earnest with his brothers, Euron and Victarion, leading the burning of the Lannister fleet while at anchor at Lannisport. Balon Greyjoy's first son, Rodrik, led a seige on Seagard within the riverlands to reclaim lands claimed by the Iron Islands in the days of house Hoare. Rodrik died in this seige as House Mallister victoriously drove off the assault. Meanwhile, the brother to King Robert, Stannis Baratheon battled Victarion Greyjoy in an open sea battle off the coast of Fair Isle. With the fleet occupied, King Robert himself led the storming of Pyke. Where Balons second son Malon was killed. Balon bent the knee, begrudgingly. Swearing fealty to the crown once more. As penance for his rebellion, Balon's last surviving son Theon was taken to become a ward and steward to Lord Eddard Stark of Winterfell.

In Theon's absence, Balon began to raise his daughter and only remaining child Asha to become his chosen heir. Aeron Greyjoy, also known as Damphair, dedicated himself to worship of the drowned god after a near death experience. Victarion continues to lead the Iron Fleet. Though Euron, after raping and impregnating Victarion's Salt Wife, was exiled from the Iron Islands by Lord Balon in 296 AC.

Character Name: Euron Greyjoy
Titles: The Crow's Eye, Captain of The Silence
Age: 30
Culture: Iron Islander
Appearance: Pale and handsome, with long black hair and a dark beard. An eye patch overs his left eye. His visible right eye is glimmering blue. And his lips are pale blue stained by shade of the evening. Typically seen wearing black scale armor adorned with glyphs and runes. Thought to be forged of Valyrian steel.
Personality: Wildly unpredictable, prone to waging psycholigical warfare and playing mind games on anyone and everyone. Ruthless, cunning, and shrewd.
Skills: Expert sailor, manipulator, skilled fighter especially on the seas. Rumored to be versed in many forms of magic.
Religion: None
Character Biography:

Euron was always a precocious strategist and manipulator. He was always one to pick and side and do whatever it took to help that side, and by extension himself, come out on top. He along with his brothers Balon and Victarion convinced their father Quellon to join Robert Baratheon in his rebellion against the Targaryen dynasty. Notably only choosing to do so late in the war when Robert's victory was all but assured. He participated in the raiding of the Reach, greatly enriching himself and his family in the process. The raiding was so successful, that Euron even played a role in convincing Balon that a rebellion of his own could be successful. He further convinced his brother of this plan by describing his idea of burning the Lannister fleet. One that was carried out and marked the beginning of Balon's rebellion. He and Victarion led the Iron Fleet to Lannisport, setting the entire Lannister fleet ablaze while it lay anchored.

The following battle off Fair Isle did not go so fortuitously. The Iron Fleet was commanded by Victarion Greyjoy. Who failed to defeat Stannis baratheon in an open sea battle. Something that dismayed Euron greatly. Being the older of the two, Euron felt himself more skilled. And failing to defeat Stannis made Euron lose all respect for his brother Victarion. Then, when his other brother, and lord, Balon bent the knee rather than die fighting, Euron lost respect for him as well. He grew callous and careless. Believing himself to be rampantly superior to both of his brothers. This lack of care came to a head when he forced himself on the Salt Wife of his broth Victarion. Raping her and leaving her with child. Victarion slew his wife to restore his honor. And Balon banished Euron from the Iron Islands. Euron left without a care. Believing himself destined for greater things.

Euron has since sailed across the narrow sea, throughout the Summer Sea, as far east as the black city of Asshai. His ship, the Silence, has raped and raided throughout all the known world. Sailed the Smoking Sea, and even walked through the ruins of old Valyria. Or, at least so he says. The truth can be however he speaks it. As the only others with him during these journeys are the crewmembers of the Silence. None of whom bare tongues with which to verify his claims. These travels have made him lose his faith in the Drowned God. Or any god for that matter. Believing there are only men and their actions. But now, having seen the world and many of its wonders, Euron has set his path back on the Iron Islands. Hell bent on proving that it is he who should stand proudly as the High King of the Iron Islands.

House Name: House Farman
Sigil: Three silver ships on a blue field with a border of crimson and goldWords: The Wind Our Steed.
House Culture: (ie. Riverlander, Northerner, Dornish etc.) Westerlands
House Head: Lord Sebaston Farman
Titles: Lord of Fair Isle
Holdings/Lands: Faircastle, all of the lands of Fair Isle that aren't in the possession of minor houses and landed knights.
Allegiance: (ie. who you are sworn to, such as Yronwood->Martell->Baratheon of Kingslanding) House Lannister of Casterly Rock
Military Strength:

In accordance with their history, House Farman possesses a navy of thirty galleys which often works in tandem with the Lannister fleet to keep the trading routes of the Westerlands free from piracy.

During peacetime, the Farmans are able to comfortably fund a standing force of 500 men at arms. Their vassals, which include minor houses and landed knights, are able to maintain a further 200 men between them. The Farmans themselves field forty knights sworn into their service, an additional sixty cavalrymen, three hundred spearmen and one hundred archers.

During wartime, the Farmans and their vassals are able to raise an additional 2,000 levies. Whilst the islands nobility can afford to equip such a force with with weapons and armour of a decent quality, to do so for long periods of time puts a heavy strain on the islands economy and its treasury.

House History:

House Farman of Fair Isle is an ancient bloodline, dating well back to the time of the first men and long before the arrival of the Andals. Throughout almost the entirety of their history, the Farmans have been a considerable naval power, largely out of necessity owing to their bitter rivalry with the Driftwood Kings of the Iron Islands who have long sought to add Fair Isle to their ever expanding list of conquests. Their dominion over the western coast made the Farmans one of the more more influential of the petty kingdoms in the Westerlands, as their longboats were counted on to protect the seas and shorelines of much of the Westerlands, including the Kingdom of the Rock, from Ironborn raiders.

After centuries of resisting the Iron Islands, Fair Isles would eventually fall to Ironborn raiders, and much of the islands wealth was pillaged and a large portion of their population enslaved as thralls. The Farmans were allowed to retain a small fraction of their holdings in exchange for regular tribute, but their prestige and power was all but extinguished. This would change almost a decade later as Gylbert Farman, seeing for himself the waning influence of the Ironborn in the face of the rising strength of House Lannister, would incite a smallfolk uprising and expel the ironborn from their island and reestablish themselves as the ruling house of Fair Isle.

Despite securing their independence once more, House Farman would never regain the same power it once held over the westerlands as much of its population had been sent to the Iron Islands and its holdings in the Riverlands in slave ships to work as slaves. After a second but much shorter occupation from the Ironborn under King Erich V Harlaw, the Farmans would remain a kingdom of minor influence until the eventual coming of the Andals, where the last of the Farman Kings allowed their daughter and heir to wed Tommen I Lannister, merging their kingdoms to ensure their survival against the threat of the Andals, who had begun to arriving in Westeros in ever increasing numbers to flee the expansion of the Valryian Freehold.

Under the rule of the Lannisters, the Farmans and the Fair Isle itself enjoyed a relatively peaceful and prosperous way of life, and would regain a considerable amount of their old wealth. Although by then, their wealth was eclipsed by the vast sums of gold that filled the Lannisters treasuries, but nonetheless had rebuilt themselves a respectable fleet that they used to ward off Ironborn pirates. By then, the Kingdom of the Rock had also expanded to include most of the Westerlands.

During Aegon's Conquest, the Farmans would send most of their able bodied men to fight the Targaryens under the combined banners of Loren Lannister and Mern IX Gardener in what was referred to the Host of Two Kings. Inevitably, this host would be decimated by Aegon I and his sister wives and their three dragons, Balerion, Vhagar and Meraxes, which would leave the population of the Fair Isles with very few able bodied men. Fortunately for the islands inhabitants this did not leave them open to another invasion from the Iron Islands, as the Ironborn King Harren Hoare and most of his army would be killed by Aegon I and his dragons in the burning of Harrenhal. The nobility of the Iron Islands would descend into chaos and infighting until finally submitting to Aegon I after he personally led an invasion of the Iron Islands with the assistance of warfleets from the Lannisters, Redwynes and the Mormonts.

During the reign of the Targaryens, the Ironborn would cease raiding entirely. This allowed the islands to recover quickly from the loss of most of its male population. It was only during the Dance of the Dragons almost a hundred years later that the Ironborn would take to the seas and begin raiding once more. Dalton Greyjoy, known as the Red Kraken, would capture Fair Isle in what was the islands third occupation from the Ironborn, where he would use the island as his base of operations to raid the coastlines of the Westerlands. It was only after Dalton Greyjoy was murdered by his salt wife, Tess, a native Fair Islander, did the smallfolk once again rise up and put all of its occupiers to the sword and restore House Farman to power.

List of House Characters:

Sebaston Farman - Lord of the Fair Isles
Gareth Clifton - Lord of House Clifton, sworn vassal to House Farman.

Skills: Expert sailor, manipulator, skilled fighter especially on the seas. Rumored to be versed in many forms of magic.

House Name: House Stark
Sigil: Running Grey Wolf on Snow White
Words: Winter is Coming
House Culture: Northman
House Head: Eddard Stark
Titles: Warden of the North, Lord of Winterfell, KIngs of Winter (Formerly)
Holdings/Lands: The North, Winterfell, Wintertown
Allegiance: House Stark is Sworn to King Robert of House Baratheon
Military Strength: 40,000 (20,000 on short notice), The north is vast and its population is widely distributed. While it can call a large army it usually takes a long time to assemble. Infantry to Cavalry Ration of 4:1. Heavy Horse comes in from House Manderly of White Harbor where they are followers of the Seven and field Knights in combat.
House History: Reigning as one of many minor Kings in the North, House Stark was known as the Kings of Winter with their house seat in Winterfell. Over thousands of years the Kings of Winter expanded their realm, defeating the Barrowkings of Barrowton, the Red Kings of House Bolton, The Marsh King of the Neck, and many other houses. Reducing them to Vassalage, or forcing them to flee outright, as was the case with House Blackwood, now settled in the Riverlands. When the Andals arrived in Westeros and began their conquest of the continent, it was the North that defeated the Andals repeatedly. Repelling them from the eastern shores and even raiding Andalos itself.

The wars against the Andals continued for centuries as the RIverlands were swallowed up and the invaders tried marching overland through the Neck, only to be destroyed time and time again by the Crannogmen and the fortifications of Moat Cailin. While defending against the Andals, the wars against other foes never relented. The Wildlings from beyond the wall and Ironborn didn't pause just because the North was under siege. Eventually however, the Ironborn were chased from Bear island and Cape Kraken several times and eventually kept out for good and wildling incursions were defeated several times. The War Across the Waters over the Three Sisters persisted against the Andal Kings of the Vale for a thousand years, eventually coming to a halt along with much of the Andal Aggression against the north after several invasions on both sides of the sea resulting in the Three Sisters being sworn to House Arryn instead of House Stark.

Houses Manderly and Karstark are relative newcomers to the Northern Bannermen, as Manderly fled the Reach after conflict with House Peake and Karstark was founded by Karlon Stark following exceptional service in his life and gifted lands and granted permission to build a castle known as Karl's Hold, now Karhold. However, eventually the Kings in the North bent the knee to House Targaryen when Aegon and his Dragons arrived on the continent. Following news of the Field of Fire and the fate of House Hoare and Gardener, King Torrhen Stark surrendered the North without a fight and became known as the King-who-Knelt for all of time. However, many believe that had he failed to do so, the army he had assembled would have met the same fate as that of the Reach and Westerlands and it is unknown if House Stark would have survived the conquest of the North. Their disinterest in the southern realms permitted a sort of isolation from the rest of the Seven Kingdoms for most of its history.

Skipping ahead to recent history, House Stark joined Robert's Rebellion following the murder of Lord Brandon Stark and his father Lord Rickard Stark. Marrying Catelyn Tully, Eddard Stark joined the North to the Alliance of the Vale, Riverlands and Stormlands. The alliances were built off of marriages mostly formulated from the Riverlands as Catelyn married Eddard, Lysa Tully married Jon Arryn, and Eddard's Sister Lyanna was betrothed to Robert Baratheon. Both Eddard and Robert were raised by Jon Arryn, Lord of the Vale, and were as close as brothers. The was came to a close with the victory over Rhaegar Targaryen at the Batle of the Trident. Racing ahead with Robert's Vanguard, Eddard witnessed the Sack of King's Landing by the Lannister Host which turned on the Targaryen King. Had that host been at the Trident, the victory of the Rebel Cause would have been in question. The war was won, but one final battle took place where Eddard and his Northmen went to the Tower of Joy in Dorne, fought the Kingsguard there with only Eddard and Howland Reed surviving the engagement. While it is unknown the timeline of events following the Tower of Joy specifically, Eddard returned the sword Dawn to House Dayne in Dorne and eventually returned north with the bastard child Jon Snow, whom he claimed was his own.

Loyal service to now King Robert Baratheon continued as the Ironborn rebellion began and was later put down by combined forces from various parts of the Realm. Since that time, the Greyjoy heir has remained a ward of Winterfell as a hostage against further aggression from the Iron Islanders. Eddard was once again called upon by Robert, this time to become Hand of the King in the face of the Death of Jon Arryn leaving the Vale in the hands of his young son Robert. With what appears to be a consiparcy unfolding around him Eddard has started looking into the death of Jon Arryn himself and feels he is close to uncovering the truth of the matter.

Following a row over a debate over whether to have Daenerys Targaryen assassinated, Eddard has resigned his post as Hand of the King. His younger daughter, Arya Stark, has already been sent home under escort, while he prepares to settle affairs in King's Landing before departing north. His son Robb has, boldly or foolishly depending on who one asks, claimed that a second Greyjoy Rebellion is stirring and has called his own banners in response to what is little more than rumours on the wind, even as a stewing Theon Greyjoy returns to Winterfell.

List of House Characters:

House Ax-Hand APP

Postby Flarbinia » Thu Nov 10, 2022 4:46 pm

House Name: Ax-Hand
Sigil: An old man with an ax for a hand on a field of red and black
Words: "The Heads Of Our Enemies Will Roll"
House Culture: Northerner
House Head: Ymir Ax-Hand
Titles: Lord Of Five Spearheads
Holdings/Lands: Five Spearheads and the surrounding villages. In the centuries that followed the founding of House Ax-Hand, Five Spearheads grew from a mere fort to a small castle.
Allegiance: House Bolton
Military Strength: Due to the small size of their demesne, House Ax-Hand can only afford to send one hundred and fifty spearmen, one hundred archers, twenty cavalry, and thirty axmen to war, the one hundred remaining warriors being left behind to defend Five Spearheads.
House History:

Beginning, Revolt, And Fealty Sworn: House Ax-Hand was founded when Haakon, the son of a Wildling named Isrik, slew Campbell, the ruler of Five Spearheads, the old man insulting Haakon and his weapon by claiming that he was born with an ax for a hand. Campbell's surviving sons fled to Ten Foxes (named for the ten foxes its founder discovered while hunting for Elk) and swore to the Old Gods that they would avenge their father, adopting Spearheads as their family name in remembrance of the home they had lost. Haakon and Yorrick, son of Haakon, would be slain by Grenn Spearheads, the eldest son of Campbell, at Ten Foxes a few years later, a defeat that cost their family half their army. Tarik, the son of Yorrick, would slay Grenn and Osric in battle, conquering their remaining lands and forcing Grenn's sons to flee to the Barrow Lands. Jorgun Spearheads was captured in the aftermath of the battle, asking to be sent to The Wall. Instead of killing him on the spot, Tarik granted his request to Take The Black in an attempt to end the feud.

However, Tarik Ax-Hand, who had adopted the practice of family names and posthumously applied his chosen one to his father and grandfather, quickly discovered that ruling was more difficult than winning battles. The fact that so many of the Smallfolk had rallied to Grenn's banner proved that his father and grandfather were ill-suited to rule over a population that did not follow the ways of the "True North", that it would take more than a sharp blade and a hand to wield it. To secure his family's hold on their conquered lands, he married Osric's daughter Talana and named Brunn Snow, bastard son of Jorgun, as his advisor. Brunn proved to be a boon, as he had ruled what was left of the family's lands in Grenn's stead while his uncles and father and half-brothers were leading their forces against Haakon and Yorrick. Tarik, at Brunn Snow's request, began by restocking the food stores in preparation for winter and bolstering the defenses of Five Spearheads against potential assaults. He then married his sister Arnella to Chandran Twintree, the son of Campbell's enemy, to gain an ally against his enemies. This left one problem: Tarik's brothers Torund (who believed that he had been stepped over) and Varnall (who did not approve of his little brother adopting the ways of the "Kneelers").

The two, aided by their uncle Skagard, rose up in revolt, planning to encircle Tarik and overwhelm the defenses of their brother's fortress once their uncle arrived with reinforcements. Brunn Snow and Buri, Son of Varnall, ambushed Torund's army, the eldest son of Yorrick dying on the ground as the survivors fled. Skagard was in the village of Cadder's Hill when Chandran Twintree, Ymir, Son of Haakon, and Bors, son of Torund arrived with their warriors. He attempted to rally the villagers against the loyalists, but the villagers, knowing that his desired battle had been lost before it begun, refused. Skagrad, knowing that a charge would be suicidal and forming a shield wall would be futile, challenged Chandran to single combat. Chandran accepted his challenge and pulled out his sword, his shield bearing the twin trees of his House. The two warriors clashed in the snow, warriors on both sides watching the duel. Chandran Twintrees and Skagrad struck at each other again and again until Chandran exploited an opening created by Skagrad striking too quickly, the rebel leader lifelessly falling to the ground. Varnall, growing impatient, launched an assault on Five Spearheads. His army broke against the fortress like water on a rock, Varnall being struck in the neck by an arrow as he tried to rally his fleeing men. With all threats to his reign dead and their revolt crushed, Tarik Ax-Hand returned to the task of ruling his demesne.

The independence of Five Spearheads would not last forever. Scouts reported an army approaching from the northeast, marching under a banner with a flayed man. Half of the court argued that their lord needed to call the banners and march against the Boltons. The other half pointed out that they lacked the numbers to have any hope of victory on the battlefield. Toman Ax-Hand, son of Ymir and grandson of Tarik, chose to heed the advice of his more levelheaded advisors, ordering a messenger to inform the head of House Bolton of his decision. When the King Royce I arrived with his army, the gates opened and Toman Ax-Hand walked out into the snow, bending the knee and swearing fealty to the Dreadfort. House Twintrees, realizing they had no allies left, followed suite.

Dance Of The Dragons: Centuries later, House Spearheads and House Ax-Hand would put aside their differences to face a common enemy: the Greens. Glenn Spearheads and Carth Ax-Hand, desiring to gain glory for themselves and their respective houses, marched with the forces of Cregan Stark, each wielding their respective house's ancestral weapons: Glenn had Blood Arrow (the bow of Grenn Spearheads) and Carth had Shieldbreaker (the ax used by Haakon II). The Northerners reached King's Landing to find Aegon II had died, Glenn and Carth being assigned to hunting down bandits during the Hour Of The Wolf. This infuriated them both, as they had headed south to test their mettle against the knights of the Stormlands, not to search the Crownlands for brigands who would easily fall before them. He would get his wish when he and Glenn entered a village that had been burnt to the ground during the war. Dramon Coppertooth, a Knight of House Connington who had deserted the battlefield while his son and his men died fighting at the Kingsroad and had turned to banditry, ambushed them with his band of outlaws, Glenn Spearheads killing Dramon's three lieutenants before being decapitated. Carth Ax-Hand cut his way through the bandits to reach Dramon Coppertooth, the disgraced knight boasting of all the men he slew in battle before charging at his foe. The two would fight until Dramon Coppertooth received a wound that caused him to drop his sword in pain, the Robber Knight yielding to Carth Ax-Hand. He was sparred on the condition that he Take The Black so that he can regain the honor he had thrown away on the battlefield, as the heir to Five Spearheads didn't see the cowardly Robber Knight as worth killing over the death of a member of House Spearheads.

Robert's Rebellion: Ymir Ax-Hand II was sparring with his sons Buri and Korgon when Maester Orland Storm ran into the courtyard, informing him that a raven had arrived from the Dreadfort. Ymir read the message and recognizing it as a call to arms, ordered Bullroarer to begin mustering troops before heading inside to prepare for battle. Braddock and Korgan asked their father who were they expecting to fight, Ymir revealing that the Mad King had ordered the deaths of Eddard Stark, that Eddard had returned from the Vale and had called the banners to march against the Mad King, who had executed Rickard and Branon Stark and had ordered the deaths of Eddard and his friend Robert Baratheon.

During the march south, Korgon spent a night at a brothel, keeping his indiscretion a secret from Ymir. Ymir and his son Buri would get their first taste of combat at The Battle Of The Bells, Korgon being slain by Ser Roland Coppertooth, the descendant of Dramon Coppertooth's grandson Konnar. Buri slew Roger Coppertooth with his mace and Ymir buried Shieldbreaker into Williard's chest, depriving Ser Roland of two of his four sons. Ser Roland and his eldest surviving son Quentyn fled from Stoney Sept when Jon Connington ordered the retreat, having lost a third of the men they had brought with them.

Rebels and loyalists formed battlelines at the Trident, Buri recognizing the Skull With A Copper Tooth on the shields and banners of Roland's men as he stared across the river. The men loyal to the Targaryens were fresh and outnumbered their foes, but those who fought under Robert Baratheon were battle hardened. The two sides clashed at the crossing, Buri slaying Quentyn Coppertooth as Ymir Ax-hand engaged in combat with Roland, the battle raging around them. After a few minutes, Ymir hamstringed Roland, the knight unable to stop himself from falling, Ymir quickly following up with burying Shieldbreaker in his chest. Ymir looked up to see Rhaegar Targaryen fall to the ground, men from both sides rushing to grab the rubies that had fallen from the prince's breastplate when Robert struck the killing blow. "Good riddance to the man who kidnapped Lyanna Stark. No woman is worth tearing the realm apart over, even one beautiful enough to get Robert Baratheon to want to settle down with her." Ymir thought as he watched the Loyalists rout from the battlefield, quickly turning his attention to seeing how many of his own men were still alive.

Ymir Ax-Hand and his men travelled to King's Landing with the Rebels under Eddard Stark's command. The rebel army arrived to see the gates open and lion banners flying over the city. As they marched to the Red Keep, they saw the aftermath of the carnage inflicted by House Lannister: streets littered with corpses, empty shops and homes that had been ransacked, and burning buildings. Eddard Stark and his men entered the Red Keep and saw Jaime Lannister, the youngest member of the King's Guard, sitting on the Iron Throne as the Mad King lay on the floor, sword still covered with royal blood. Ymir and Buri were angered by the sight, but did not utter a word. Nor did they utter a word when the corpses of Elia Martell and her children were presented to Robert Baratheon wrapped in crimson cloaks.

Greyjoy Rebellion: When the Greyjoys rebelled against the Iron Throne, Ymir Ax-Hand once again heeded the call to arms and mustered his forces. Buri Ax-Hand died in battle with the Ironborn, a gray haired Reaver named Dantis pulling his spear out of Buri's chest before turning his attention to Ymir. The two warriors clashed, Ymir hooking the spear with Shieldbreaker and moving it to the side. He immediately followed up by closing the distance and swinging his ancestral weapon, the blade hitting its mark, Dantis falling over dead from the blow. Ymir and his warriors cheered once the battle was over, Buri being sent to Five Spearheads for burial.
