Teacher application

Name: napi [nah-pee]
Pantheon: Blackfoot Native American
Gender: non-binary
Domain(s): trickery & nature
Parents:unknown
Age: around 1250 (has lost count) but appears and acts 29
Appearance:http://pm1.narvii.com/5913/21523d0566b6de50da48ecf6f6d117d76eeda3d4_00.jpg
Powers: werewolf-esque transformation, shapeshifting, illusions, and nature control in relation to forest’s flora and fauna
Background: napi was a rambunctious child even for a trickster spirit. They fought bears for fun. Loved making fun of humans by impersonating them. One day a prank went too far almost ending in a war between the human tribes.
After this they were sent to holy high to learn how to be a better deity. Now all these years later they’ve graduated, been through a war, helped heal the lands in the aftermath, and are ready to pay their knowledge forward. The kindness that was shown to them when they were a student made them want to do the same for other struggling and new godlings.
Classes:diplomacy/power management with Athena, pe with Hyperion, and magic with Hecate
Humanities:stargazing with Astraeus and dance with Terpischore

Name: Akurrada-karoa’baru (Strong Breaking Axe), shortened to Akura
Pantheon: Arawak
Gender: Male
Domain(s): Strength and endurance, forests, honey, bees
Parents: Faraguvaol (father), unnamed simo-ahawara mother
Age: Relatively young at 19
Appearance:
Akura, as a spirit, is a natural shapeshifter, but his status as being one of the simo-ahawara means that his natural appearance isn’t that of an animal like many of the spirits or some other concept like the sun and moon like his uncles, but rather, his natural appearance is relatively modest in comparison. His stature is certainly on the tall side, his mother’s heritage being that of a known race of warrior spirits, and he stands at 6’ 7” naturally. However, he is still a teenager who has yet to enter his fully grown years as a warrior demigod, and his body lacks the heavily muscular builds of the other simo-ahawara. That being said, he’s by no means slim, and he possesses considerable musculature comparable to a high-end athlete. In his natural form, Akura is decidedly wasp-like in appearance; his skin is black and accented with yellow fuzz across his collar and arms, he possesses a fanged mouth, and his hands have only 3 fingers instead of 4. However, his status as being raised among humans in the aftermath of the Dying means that Akura is disinclined to use his spirit form, and more commonly uses a human guise.

His human guise that he uses and is more comfortable with is similar to his true form in physical qualities, but he lacks the wasp-like fuzz of his heritage, and his skin is a light, almost bronze, complexion. His hair, like many spirits, is traditionally worn long, and he wears it within a long, eloquently threaded braid to cut down on any annoyances that his long hair can accrue. His eyes are emerald-like in color, and constantly glow in a slightly dim manner, an indicator of his divine heritage through his father’s side. His skin is marked by various red and white tattoos across his arms, starting from his wrists, and continue up to his upper body, and end at his throat; these tattoos are of a royal kind, denoting his status as a prince of warrior spirits, and depict various pictographs associated with aggression such as sharks and the knives of Guacar.

Powers:
Enhanced Divine Physicality
Though he possesses divine strength, stamina, and other such qualities - including durability and speed - derived from his nature as a semi-divine demigod and a spirit demigod at that, Akura possesses an even greater quantity of these elements due to being a simo-ahawara, who are naturally possessed of incredible strength and stamina, and Akura’s divine nature only serves to enhance them far further. Akura’s inability to handle his natural strength as his divine nature comes into being proves to be a rather large annoyance, as not only does he lack control over his strength, he cannot control the degrees of strength he outputs, unused to his divine nature; at times he can be weak and helpless, and other times he struggles in handling metal tools without crushing them within his grip.

Plant/Fungi Control
A power inherited from his divine father, Akura is capable of consciously and subconsciously controlling plants and fungi to his will, but the degrees of which vary. Unable to control his newly discovered powers, Akura’s abilities vary in strength, and theoretically, he should have the same mastery of flora as his father, but this does not manifest beyond minor abilities such as accelerating growth of plants, guiding their growth, and returning wilted plants to life.

Animal and Insect Control/Empathy
Akura is naturally capable of controlling animals, and compared to his control of plants, his ability to communicate with animals is generally somewhat more adept, but he still cannot communicate clearly, with his words and the words of whatever he is speaking to often jumbled and difficult to understand for the demigod. He is, however, greatly skilled within the arts of animal empathy, and can naturally tell what animals are feeling with a mere look or touch. Insects, due to their more simple minds, are much easier for Akura to enact his control over, and he’s not only capable of commanding the will of insects, he’s capable of possessing them and acting through insects as a surrogate body, though he’s unskilled in this particularly advanced form of insect commanding and rarely ever does such a thing successfully.

Limited Shapeshifting
Compared to Abaguabana and Coatrisquie, who have command over the ability to shapeshift into creatures of the sky and water respectfully, Akura has the inborn ability to shapeshift into animals in general; of the land, sky, and ocean, all of which are within his repertoire. However, his inexperience in such skills means that Akura rarely ever shapeshifts into the thing he wants; whereas Abaguabana has years of experience and full control over his shapeshifting, Akura cannot shift in and out of his animal forms reliably and has lacked a spirit mentor to teach him how to shapeshift safely.

Crafting Ability
Another quirk of simo-ahawara who build their great hive-villages, weapons, and tools from masterfully crafted works of stone and wax, Akura has a natural tendency to be able to create things he desires out of whatever he can get his hands on. His natural crafting abilities led him to tinker as a hobby, and if given the time to play with an unfamiliar tool, can understand it relatively quickly. Tinkering is one of his few strong points, having indulged in it since he was a child, and he considers himself a self-styled prodigy in craftsmanship.

Water Weakness
Simo-ahawara have a lethal weakness to water; their bodies are not flesh and bone, but hardened wax, and possess blood of honey. Their skin does not cut, it fractures, and though this provides the simo-ahawara with considerable durability, it leaves them with a glaring weakness - water dissolves their skin, and can kill them, as lethal to them as acid is to others. Akura’s divine heritage renders the lethality of this weakness moot, but water still burns his skin as if it was boiling.

Background: Akura was the forbidden child of a one-night tryst between the great forest spirit Faraguvaol, the fifth son of the primordial earth goddess Iguanaboina, and one of the royal women of the Guanausa village-kingdom, the sister of the village’s head cacique. Born during the height of the Dying, during many of the violent invasions of the Spirit World - both foreign and dark spirit - Faraguvaol, out of concern for his newborn son, decreed that the demigod be sent from the Spirit World into the mortal world for his own safety, after considerable fighting from the baby’s mother. Delivered to safety by the kabuya rakan, who watched over the young boy, the infant Akura was eventually picked up and adopted into a family fleeing from San Juan over boat following one of Guabancex’ and her children’s many horrifically powerful hurricanes.

Akura did not grow up as a spirit would, but rather, as a human, and grew up ignorant of his divine origins. Though his parents would note that even as a child Akura’s strength was far beyond his peers on an almost hilarious discrepancy, Akura grew up with a rather normal childhood, and spent his years as a young child helping with the rebuilding of a coastal community. Akura was often picked on as a child for what other children believed was an unusual allergy to water - it rained often and tropical storms from hurricanes further south tended to end up at the survivor’s community, and when they did, the water would typically burn Akura harshly, leading to teasing from other children.

On his teenage years, Akura’s divine origins began to manifest with his growing body; his strength became not simply unusual, but supernatural, as he was capable of freely tossing entire tree trunks like toys even as a young teenager. By the time his more divine powers began to manifest - the occasional whisper from the survivor community’s pets, flowers growing in places where he had just been, his skin shifting from soft to hard, and other such phenomenon led to Akura beginning to think he was growing insane. Such powers making themselves known served as a beacon to his father Faraguvaol, who allowed Akura into the Spirit World to further hone his powers at the age of 15.

Akura, though handing the news of what he was relatively well - always knowing he was different - could not conform to spirit society particularly well, with languages and a culture from a time long since passed causing confusion and frustration in Akura. His inner belief that he was not spirit, but human, was a severe limiter on his learning, and Akura was unable to learn the true extent of his power and divinity. By the time he was 19, Akura’s progress over his divine powers was middling at best, but he was forced to leave Guanausa and return to the Spirit World after a murapa-yeng manifested and leveled the entire village until it was nothing but rubble, leaving Faraguvaol to discreetly escort his son out of the village’s remains and enroll him into Holy High to learn to better control his powers from perspectives much closer to his own, with the forest god silently believing that learning from Greek and Norse deities would be much easier on the boy than learning from spirits.

A CHALLENGER APPROACHES!

Teacher Application

Name: Aleator, The Spieler

Titles and Epithets: The Gambler of Destinies, The Just One, The Bodhisattva of Fog and Thorn, The Lord of Chances, The Gate and Key to the Mysteries, The Heir of the Stars

Pantheon: Honorary Member of the Tuatha De Danann

Gender: Male

Domain: Fate and Time, Gambling and Games, Justice and Law, The Fool Archetype

Parents: ??????

Line of Inheritance: The Compassionate One, The Eternal One, and The Merciful One

Age: ??????

Appearance:
Mortal Guise | A Gentler Mortal Face | Lord of Chances | Real Life Reference

Powers:

"Fortune favors the bold. How about one more try?"

Fate and Time are inseparable. The great ocean of Time, that spans outward into infinity and nothing at the same time, ripples with the equally infinite waves of Fate upon its surface. Each tick and tock of the clock dictates the movement of action, and with each action done passes the movement of time. Time is like a book, its pages holding the ink of Fate. With pen in hand, the Spieler writes destinies and histories.

The Spieler stands at each splitting road of infinite choices, guiding those who wish to make their own decisions. He holds the great script of Time, upon which the ink of Fate is written over its infinite expanse. The Lord of Chance is the master of Fate, and champions each possibility and every choice. He stands guard at the great river of Time, protecting the past, the present, and the future, as well as the infinite streams of parallel movement and action. In his hands are the hands of Time, ticking ever onward.

Every mortal has something to give, and life is a gamble to be done. The span of one's destiny is to gamble away for greater opportunities, and every mortal and god have their own decks at their disposal. Even at their lowest, as long as one has bravery to bet everything for a chance for victory, the Spieler watches as the coin is tossed into the air.

The Spieler maintains the fabric of Fate and Time, watching over the progress of humanity towards enlightenment, protecting them and ensuring that mortalkind survives even until the very last embers. If such survival is threatened, the clock stops and the pen's ink dries. If history must be rewritten, if destiny must be reversed, the Spieler shall move the hands of Time and pull at the strings of Fate.

But for now he is content to play cards, to toss dice, to spin wheels, and to throw darts. Joy and happiness runs across the thread, for what fleeting Time that humanity has on Earth is simply the chase for happiness and fulfillment. Thus the Spieler offers a deck of cards, to throw your dice and your lot, for a better tomorrow.

Background:
Once upon a time, there was a little boy who looked at the stars in the night sky. He wonders what they are, why they are in the sky, and how they came to be. They form shapes, of heroes and beasts, of gods and things, of stories written in the firmament. Every night the boy points at constellations and names them, spinning stories at the shapes that the dotted stars in the sky make. The twinkling lights smile down at him, guiding him with their light as they form paths and lines for him to follow.

The boy followed the lines, the paved road of stars, and wrote his name with starlight in the night sky. Fortune descended upon him, blessing him with luck at every turn. Success fills his mundane mortal life as red marks turn to stars and smiles. Gold returns to his dwindling home, as the house's pillars erect themselves once more and the lights flare with brilliance. The boy was blessed, and he shared his blessings with his loved ones.

But alas, the Council of Sages saw this rain of blessings. Faceless wise men and women faced the boy in a conclave, carrying the sentence for his unlawful use of the gifts of the Heavens. They say that his shared starlight has affected many fates; many have been blessed by good fortune, but the boy never knew that each good fortune gave way to misfortune for another. Voices, men and women, young and old, call out for judgment. The young boy is to be imprisoned for a thousand years, to repay for the karma he has brought upon many.

One voice triumphs over the rest: the Compassionate One silences the others. He spoke with great fervor, that the young boy only acted out of his own kindness. To return good with evil is not the way of the just, and each bad fate could be restored. Before the fiery passion of the Compassionate One the others receded their own voices, and pardoned the boy for his crime of ignorance. From thereon the boy followed the Compassionate One, to listen to his teachings, and to bask in his wisdom.

But alas, the Compassionate One is not all-knowing. His was the path of a Saint, the journey towards holiness. This was not the path of the young boy, and the wise choice is to reach out to those who do. Beyond the great wall of fog and thorn, where the sun is eternally in the east and the moon is eternally in the west, there await two figures crowned in stars.

A great king, crowned in stars and clothed in the tears of the moon, invited the young boy into his kingdom. The Eternal One, timeless and unending, taught him the histories, the flow of water and sand, the revolutions of the heavenly bodies, and the mysteries of the beginning and end. He taught the young boy how to walk upon the shores of stars, to step into the rivers of light, and to change its flow. The Eternal One taught the young boy of Time, and for an eternity and an eon they watched the stars move across the horizon.

A great dragon, whose scales glimmer with countless stars, invited the young boy into her endless sea. The Merciful One, whose tears become the pearls underneath her sea, taught him second chances, the importance of choice, and the changing nature of the world. She taught the young boy how to swim through the boundless waters of destiny, to shift through the countless pearls of chances, and to know how to weigh the hearts of gods and men. The Merciful One taught the young boy of Fate, and for an eternity and an eon they shared laughter and sorrows beneath the starry sea.

But alas, the time to return to the Compassionate One has come. Beneath a sorrowful moon, the two star-clad dignitaries said their goodbyes. They each gave the boy their parting gifts to remember them and bless his journey. The Merciful One shed a tear, an opalescent and shining pearl that dazzles with the colors of the rainbow. The Eternal One parted with a piece of the moon, shaped into a stylus to record the passing moments. With tears in his eyes, the young boy turned back towards the wall of fog and thorn and stepped away from the land of fairytales.

Time passes quickly in the world of men. The young boy aged into a young man, and the stars in his eyes have turned into a knowing gaze. His glory is marked by the sound of roulettes, the clacking of dice, the shuffling of cards, the ticking of the clock, and the weighing of scales. He learned how to weigh the fates of gods and men, to judge with Fate's decree. He learned how to pass through moments, and see beyond the forward march of Time. In the years to come he heard a familiar call, and saw the familiar wall of fog and thorn. Beyond the path of bramble and shade awaits something for him.

A crown of stars upon a stage.

Not really, those are former Player Characters that were either dropped or their writer bowed out.

You'd have to ask the specific person, but they're not just like premade npcs you can pick up and go.

Technically modern-day, it's more or less post-apocalyptic. A lot of the mythology's "home realms" like the Taíno Spirit World, Mount Olympus, Nine Realms, etc etc are all reflections of that religion's time periods though

Name: Vix
Gender: Female
Age: 16 (physically)
Personality: Being raised by a single parent and mostly isolated from the world, she has some trouble socializing, and she gets nervous in large crowds. Although she's trying to be more responsible, her impulsivity still shines through sometimes. She's protective of her friends, tries to be friendly to strangers, and very petty to her foes.
Appearance:
Image

Pantheon: Greek
Divine Parent(s): Artemis, (Surrogate parent is the Teumessian fox.)
Domain: Foxes, agility, and stealth.
Abilities:

Affinity of the fox
Vix can turn into an adult red fox at will. During this time, she can still understand humans and retains her memories and thoughts. This transformation wears her out though, and staying in fox form drains energy. This means she has to increase her stamina in order to keep that form.
She has the enhanced smell and hearing of a fox, as well as retractable claws. Her longest time in fox form is twenty minutes.

Peircing Shriek
Now, I know what you're wondering; what DOES the fox say? And I have an answer! They don't. Instead, they scream as a way to communicate. Vix can do something similar, emitting a high-pitched screech that will bring all foxes within a 5-mile radius to her location. using this power she can also talk to foxes.

Nobody can catch the fox

Description:
Some people say we hold the values and characteristics of our heroes within us. While most would call it an inspiration, it holds some truth.

Vix can turn invisible for short periods of time. She can still be heard and is still able to pick things up. They don't become invisible with her unless she's in direct contact with it when she turns invisible.

Immortality
Like all gods, Vix is immortal.

Swift
she can run really, really fast for a short period of time.

Sharp Spikes
Vix can make her teeth and nails incredibly sharp like a paper shredder. She can make her teeth return to normal, but she has to trim her nails back down, so she's become adept at giving herself manicures.

Ears diminish fears
This... isn't really a power, but her fox ears contain much floof, and petting them can calm people and gods down. However, she rarely lets people touch them without permission. If you manage to do so without permission... Well, let's just say that her nails won't be the only thing she's trimming.

Sneaky Pounce
She can sneak up behind her enemy while holding her breath. Once she is where she wants to be, Vix can propel herself into the air; effectively launching a surprise attack on the victim's head.

Think of his tricks

Description: 'The grapes are sour, said the fox, when he could not get at them.'

Vix has the ability to cast small illusions around her. (making an apple look rotten, changing the color of something, making a spider appear) However, these illusions can't physically harm anyone or move anything. A single illusion can last for up to 15 minutes, but the time she's able to keep them around decreases per illusion she summons at once.

Sleeping stars

When Vix gets injured or killed by a weapon made to kill immortals, her body becomes a constellation, where she has to reform. However, every time she does, she loses a little bit of her humanity. This means that if she does too many times, she becomes just like her mom. Thankfully, she can regain her humanity every time a human pays respects about her, or a legend is told with her in it. If a human offers her food, takes care of her, or is helpful to her, she regains a portion of her humanity.

Family bonds

If Vix is in a state of perpetual danger, A faint, starry outline of a large fox will appear, keeping her and her friends safe for around 30 minutes.

Bull's eye affinity
Thanks to her parentage, she can weild long range weapons with ease.

Fox in sheep's costume

Description: Did you know foxes can mimic other animals? It's true!

Vix can mimic other godling's powers. This ability has several conditions:
Vix can only mimic one power at once.
She has to obtain permission, verbal or otherwise, in order to use it.
She has to have a general idea of how the power is summoned/how it's used e.g. 'I think it should happen, so it
happens'

Foxatouille

Description: "First of all, I’m a rat Fox. Which means, life is hard. Second, I have a highly developed sense of taste and smell."

Due to Vix's heightened senses, she can smell the difference in foods, so much so that 'Scentless' poison is picked up by her nose. Additionally, this gives her an advantage when cooking. Smell the dish to make, and make it!

A thief's stash

Description: 'Shake paws, count your claws,
You steal mine, I'll borrow yours. Watch my whiskers, check both ears. Robber foxes have no fears.'

Vix's tail isn't just poofy- it holds a small subspace bubble inside, where she can store small objects- BandAids, a toothbrush, a hairbrush, and small momentoes. Sadly, it doesn't keep items fresh, abd it fills up quickly- Although Vix has read that it could expand if she learns magic

Classes: History, Power management, Diplomacy, Gym/Fighting, Stargazing, Artistic expression.

Background: Before she was turned to stone and became a constellation, the Teumessian fox was nine months pregnant with Vix. When the monster was turned to stone, and then a constellation, the fox godling continued to form, albeit much slower, and the magicks used to transform her mom changes her as well, giving her human features and powers.

When vix was born, she was sent to earth, landing somewhere in Maine near the Appalachian trail, where she was quickly found by a hiker. When he couldn't find anyone who might have left her there, he decided to adopt her and teach her as he continued back to his home via the trail. At this time, her ears had not grown in, and her tail wasn't developed, so the traveler had no idea what he was in for, and he named her Teresa.

After two years together, the hiker (now known as Derek) noticed ears growing out from her head. Concerned,he continued on the trail, trying to get to the next town. In the meantime, She didn't seem to be in any pain from this development, so he would just have to keep a close eye on her.
The brushtail came shortly after, and he affectionately nicknamed her Vix.

They kept hiking the trail, their progress significantly slowed by the increasingly severe weather. By this time, the child was six, and he had taught her to hunt, and he tried to teach her to spell.
They tried to stay together, but they lost eachother during a sudden storm when Derek went out hunting that resulted in a tornado. Vix was able to get to shelter in time, but she never found her dad again.

The six year old vix waited for months and months, staying in place like he had told her to until more hikers found her. This time, a group of teenagers. They spotted the tent a little ways from the trail, and Vix was sitting inside and waiting. They offered to help her find him, and eventually convinced her to come with them, teaching her to hide her ears and her tail, and to trade.

She stayed with them until she was nine, after she was once again left alone, although this time, she left; packing her bags with clothes and what little food they gave her.

She found a companion with a woman named Sammy, who was headed to Texas, and it was with her that she began to discover her powers by turning into a fox while she was asleep. Sammy saw this, and Vix unshifted when she woke. When she got to her destination, the kind woman asked her to stay, but vix declined, instead opting to go north.

She rescued a black fox cub soon after, hearing what she thought was a human cry for help and rescuing it from under the rubble and gave it the name fog. The two became fast friends, and while she told it to leave, she stayed.it was with fog she learned to turn into a fox on command, and yell to attract more foxes. They'd helped anyone who could deal with the weirdness, and after staying in a forest to help a blind cub back to its family, learned of a possible grouping of young gods.

She'd decided to check it out, and with fog by her side, the two headed off to Asheville, and up the mountains to whatever adventure would await them next...

Why is it whenever I decide to re-login to this site and revive my account this RP is back? I would make an app but as of now I probably won't, however I may in the future.

If I do make an app I might bring back a angsty black haired fox that a certain someone might remember.

Name: Daniel O’Magher
Pantheon: Irish
Gender: male
Domain(s): Steward of Don’s House, god of pookas and the Dobhar chu
Parents: Don and a (assumedly, probably not because he isn’t a demigod, he is a god) human mother
Age: 16
Appearance: tall, rather skinny, kinda has a melancholy feel about him
Powers: generic god of death powers, he can also just teleport to his dad’s house whenever he wants (Don’s house is important in Irish myth). Also has a weird connection with the Dobhar chu for some reason, must be on his moms side. Mild shapeshifting. Also probably from his moms side. She musta been a Pooka.
Background (At least two paragraphs): Born in Country Kerry, outside Dingle, he grew up rather poor. The Irish gods were mostly forgotten at that point, and Don’s house was lonelier than ever. He stayed with his dad most weekends. It was nice. But as he grew, the gods came back from Tir na nOg. They were weak, but they were back. He was also growing. He needed education. He got his normal human education, but the kids were afraid of him. He was tall, and he just… felt wrong. Like an outcast. He felt sad, but in a way no one wanted to help him with (not in an emo way, just melancholy).

His dad began to notice this, and picked up that he would probably be more like him than his mom. Don began to ponder. He used to have enternities to ponder, waiting for spirits to find his house. But he pondered some more. He had heard whispers of a high school for gods, and wanted to see what it was like. He contacted some of the teachers, and from what he gathered it would be a good place for little ol’ Daniel. So one day, Don sent him there.

Main classes: math, science, PE
Humanities (Pick 2-3, will be listed in post below): Cooking, power management

Magher is pronounced mar
Irish is crazy

Ardchu is a fun country to enjoy nature in, but also you can be murdered on the street by police or by the native wildlife, who are citizens here. And yes, we can talk with them and they can talk with us. They are equal citizens of this country, and we are disgusted by speciesism. They are canonically as smart as humans and can think for themselves, and many of them have run the country. National language is Ardchuan, but it's mandatory to learn at least one other nature language in school.

please check these out as well, I feel like it could be a cool thing to do:
