Jean Rene, the head of a coalition of urban poor, Roman Catholics, and Haitian Nationalists, the man took power in the 2000 election. Moving forward with his plan to “revitalize Haiti”, after years of attributing all of Haiti’s problems to an entrenched civil service, the populist began systemically purging it. The old civil service was replaced by Haitian Americans, in a bid to “revitalize Haitian democracy.” With new people at his side, an aggressive anti corruption campaign was launched on all of Haitian society, with a mixture of improving the business climate. Around this time, foreign contractors began exploring for oil. With his first phase mostly complete, and Haitian society beginning to trust Haitian institutions more, programs to invest in infrastructure and education became bigger themes. The nation also began systemically addressing its financial situation, stabilizing the nation’s finances and lowering its debt.


Associated with competency and stability, Haitian voters once again elected the man as President. He capped 2004 off with announcements of a deal to begin oil drilling in Haiti, promising ‘a bright future for the country.’ While the oil industry began to bud, infrastructure investments in the areas adjacent to the oil industry were made. Meanwhile, the Haitians continued their reforms in education. By 2006, Haitian attendance in schooling had dramatically risen, and the number of students attending college was on the upswing. Corruption was also being seriously hampered through the civil service reforms, the President introducing bills to reform the police.

In 2007, a new constitution was proposed by the President. It brought Haitian governmental structure closer to an Anglo model, but beyond that, it would allow the President to run for office without term constraints. Passing in 2008, Haiti transitioned to a Parliamentary system, with Jean as its first Prime Minister. A powerful one at that.

Things went well into 2010, when the Earthquake happened. To call it a disaster would be downplaying it. However, it could have been worth if Jean wasn’t at the helm. Telling the world “Bring investment, not pity.”, the Haitian government was able to redirect the humanitarian aid sent to Haiti into rebuilding much of Port-AU-Prince, developing new types of settlements for those in rural areas, and improving Haitian architecture. Widely having praised for his response, the man went onto launch large programs on improving Haiti’s fundamental infrastructure, now floating by increasing investments and oil revenues.

In 2016, the new Haitian military was founded. Initially an internal force, it was part of the wider Haitian program of systemically addressing violence. This program focused on “shaping the youth up”, which was accompanied by youth groups, curfews, and a reinvigorated police force. By 2020, the Army had established itself once again, and expanded to dealing with protecting Haiti as a point in itself. By 2025, it was larger in personnel than its Dominican counterpart, and the parity between the two forces was closed, closing, or having surpassed the Dominicans already.

With years of education reforms, the rise of the service economy was also accompanied by all these new developments. By 2025, Haiti had restablished itself as the barely richer nation on the island.

Current Prince, Prince Rashad Tabet, was crowned as Prince of Saudi Arabi, and shortly after the crowning, saw the first elections in Saudi Arabian History, the 2001 Election. The Prime Minster would be under a 5-year term, with no rule of how many times a Prime minister can run.

It saw Rafiq Nehili elected, under the Arabian Centrist Party, which advocated for a more free-market economy and for restrictions on the military. Despite early free-market reforms, which saw high initial growth between 2001 - 2003, Saudi Arabia entered a recession due to the lack of financial restriction of major companies, in which was between 2003 - 2006, before the government enacted a £4.5 Billion emergency funding deal for major investment companies. Despite free-market reforms allowing the recession, Rafiq remained on his goals, and towards the end of time as Prime Minister, he enacted several military reforms, which shrank the Saudi Arabian Military and military funding, before he was elected out of office by Rabi Mitri, leader of the Arabian Nationalist Party.

The government quickly nationalised major industries, in which saw a shirt-lived economic boom between Q2 in 2007 - Q4 in 2007, the 2008 recession saw the reforms fade away, and soon enough, the Saudi Arabian economy never bounced backed. However, it wasn't the poor economic growth of the economy which saw international attention, but the 2009 Invasion of Yemen. Although the invasion was considered only an full-on war between the two in 2010, the countries military spending hit the highest in the countries recent history. The war started well, with Arabian troops managing to quickly dismantle enemy troops. Saudi Arabia would shift it's focus onto Oman, who had seen freqnent border battles occur between the two. The 2012 Invasion of Oman was considered a defensive war on Saudi Arabia, under the same government, who won re-election shortly after the invasion.

Growth managed to pick back up again, as Saudi Arabia looked to get back to pre-2008 economic growth, however, the government enacted a new offensive in Oman. Known as the 2013 Winter Offensive saw Arabian troops begin large-scale attacks on Oman territory, and soon enough, saw casualties erupt. It is around 4,000 deaths, both civilian and military, since the war occurred. The offensive was the biggest offensive since the eruption of the 2009 invasion of Yemen. In 2015, the government once again passed a bill for a hike in military spending to 9.0% of their GDP on military spending. This sparked international attention, in which saw Saudi Arabia once more begin offensives in Yemen and Oman, with little effect.

The 2018 election predicted re-election, however, saw the outsider party of the Arabian Directory Party, considered the more extreme version of the nationalist party, due to their promise for the end of the Yemen and Oman conflicts, decreased military spending and a more controlled economy. The election was successful, and soon enough, saw the conflicts come to stalemate. This was due to the "Stagnate Policy" which was used to prevent Monet being thrown into the conflict. Saudi Arabia announced an official statlemate in conflict, announcing all conquered territory to annexed into Saudi Arabia, although this isn't full recognised.

Into the present day, Saudi Arabia faces a growing liberal party, wishing for a more open market, as-well as social changes to more forced onto the country. International concerns over the Oman and Yemen conflict could see sparks fly in the coming years, as the party looks to begin an end to conflicts.

So I'm not sure how this makes sense. Saudi Arabia is a fairly stable absolute monarchy, with the most significant opposition coming from Islamist elements that believe the government isn't hardline enough. When this is combined with the level of foreign support for the House of Saud, any military coup, even one championed by moderates, would be met by intense foreign support for Saud.

This becomes even more clear with Oman, where the United States has a military base. If a military coup did install a democracy, it would NOT be a thriving one. It would be perpetually teetering on the verge of civil war, if not openly in an active civil war, with fundamentalist elements FAR outnumbering the moderates.

And even if it was able to avoid a civil war, what is the justification for invading Yemen and Oman? Why was a coup launched in the first place? These are things which need to be explained, given how drastically they change not just the character of Saudi Arabia but the entire geopolitical landscape of the Middle East.
