"Bon sang ne saurait mentir. We lay down our lives, our wands, in the noble defence of our people, our folk, our blood - for the descendants of wizardry, the inheritors of magic, are under attack once more, and the loyal scions and valiant scionesses of our world will rise to its defence! Brothers and sisters, we shall not be erased and eradicated in silence!" - Unknown member of the Hermetic Order of the Acolytes of Gaunt at a rumoured (but unconfirmed) meeting

The year is 2039, and the British wizarding world is in the middle of another great schism, torn asunder right down the middle, on the brink of yet another bloody civil war, and the great venerable institution of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry risks being dragged right back into that brewing conflict.

Much has changed in the British wizarding world since the conclusion of the Second Wizarding War of 1995-1998. Lord Voldemort, his Death Eaters, and the fearsome brutality of their crimes and terrorisation, are now a distant and faded memory, especially in the minds of a new generation of witches and wizards. And significant strides, progressive changes, and hard-won social gains have been accomplished in the wizarding society of Great Britain and Ireland since their absence. Under the careful and compassionate watch of a Minister for Magic sympathetic to their cause (Aubrey Archibald Douglas, a half-blood wizard with a Muggle mother elected for a 7-year term in the 2032 ministerial election), an activist and advocacy group known as the Wizarding Alliance for Equality and Diversity has made great strides since 2032 onwards, in promoting social equality throughout the British wizarding world, dutifully and resiliently advancing the rights of Muggle-born wizards and Wizard-borns ('squibs') alike, whilst increasing the legal and social protections for historically-maligned non-wizardkind species (goblins, centaurs, house-elves etc.), with the Ministry of Magic even going so far as to erect a new Department in 2036, the Department of Muggle-born Welfare, tasked with enforcing anti-discrimination protections for muggle-born wizards, and rolling out expansive new social programs and services intended to further the standing and success of muggle-borns within British wizarding society.

However, such rapid and sweeping social reforms have not come without a dreadful price. As the established pure-blood families saw their power and influence swiftly wane, and increasing numbers of half-blood wizards grew anxious and insecure about the erosion of their relative status and position in British wizarding society, these swift and drastic reforms for social equality sparked a bitter and equally drastic response, a brutal reactionary backlash from disgruntled pure-blood and half-blood wizards who have watched the reforms and changes of the past 7 years with a mixture of dread, horror, disgust, and most of all, fear and anxiety, many of whom began to vow to turn back the clock, and return all these muggle-born, squib, and non-wizardkind 'upstarts' back to their rightful and inferior place - by force, if necessary. There have even been rumours within the Ministry, the Alliance, and the wider British wizarding world, of the rise of a new secretive fraternal organisation of like-minded wizards and witches, with a single-minded fanatical dedication to restoring wizarding society back to its 'rightful' and 'proper' state of affairs. It is said, according to these unconfirmed whispers, that this new underground society, the Hermetic Order of the Acolytes of Gaunt, began as mere idle talk and gossip amongst the prestigious, old-money, pure-blood patriarchs, chatelaines, scions, socialites, philanthropists etc., at their highly-private, exclusive, and cloistered high-society dinners, balls, galas, and soireés, but as time went by that mere 'idea' quickly evolved into a brutal and fanatical terrorist organisation for zealous pure-blood and half-blood witches and wizards, consumed by an insatiable desire to see an old and fading world restored once more in glory, the 'good old days' of a wizarding world of decades past, a bygone quasi-aristocratic era where blood-status and blood-purity were truly prized and valued in wizarding society - much unlike these days. Not much is known about this organisation, its members, its precise demands - indeed, even if it truly exists beyond mere rumour - but soon, very soon, the Order will make its existence definitively known to all, in a fashionable debut into British wizarding society that promises to be bathed in blood.

As tensions rise and relations deteriorate between reactionary pure-blood supremacists and progressive muggle-born advocates for equality, day-by-day, the British wizarding world looms closer and closer to the brink of all-out civil war once more, and the faculty and student body of Hogwarts, unfortunately, has not been immune to the social divisions and cultural schisms of the day. When that fateful, inevitable day comes, when that first offensive spell is cast, or that prefatory hex or jinx is launched, and the British wizarding world is plunged once more into a brutal mayhem, chaos, and pandemonium from which it has been blissfully spared for the last four decades, the idyllic and picturesque premises of Hogwarts will become a critical front and battleground, as the internal divisions within the staff and students come to the fore expressed in violence, and the school is forcefully dragged into the fray that erupts around them. Wands are drawn in a school torn asunder, right down the middle, in a tragic and heartbreaking all-out war of student against student, professor against professor.

As for who will emerge victorious upon the ornate grounds of Hogwarts - or indeed, what that 'victory' even looks like - only time will tell. Until then, wizards and witches across Great Britain and Ireland dreadfully await the opening salvo of this bloodied and inevitable conflict, and in the hallways and dormitories of that ancient school in the Scottish Highlands, students and teachers alike sleep uneasily at night, with one eye open, wand at the ready.

Will you join them?

The story/roleplay begins on the first week of Spring Term at Hogwarts, following easter break, with the students returning to their dormitories and their accommodations from home on the evening of Sunday, 24th of April, 2039. RPers will get to control student and teacher characters in Hogwarts, and mingle about the premises and attend classes, social events, competitions etc., week-by-week. The basic structure of the RP is that, at the beginning of each week, the OP will open the week with a series of newspaper articles, editorials or opinion pieces in The Daily Prophet and the student-newspaper The Hogwarts Times, introducing RPers to a huge event or events which greatly affects the wizarding world and causes tensions to escalate between pure-blood supremacists and muggle-born equality advocates in the wizarding world, bringing the society closer and closer to an outright civil war. It is within that tense, fractious, and divisive environment that your student and teacher characters will interact on Hogwarts premises, with all the arguments, tensions, fights, or drama that naturally ensues. From Week 1 to Week 6 this is the basic structure of the RP, at the start of each week a ground-breaking event occurs that shakes the wizarding world and provokes tensions between the factions therein (for example, a terrorist attack or high-profile assassination by the Order), raising the risk of war, and the students and teachers at Hogwarts interact with each other in that tense and uncertain environment, dreading the outbreak of war as the internal divisions and disunion within the student body and faculty get worse and more pronounced as time goes by.

At the start of Week 7, on Sunday, 5th of June, 2039, the war between the Alliance and the Order will begin and Hogwarts will get dragged into that conflict (how precisely that happens will not be revealed here to avoid spoilers, obviously, but has been planned out and will be revealed when the RP hits Week 7). This is when fighting breaks out on the Hogwarts premises proper, with different students and teachers ideologically aligned to the political aims of the Alliance or the Order respectively, and duking it out and duelling on school grounds, warring for control of the campus itself and different parts thereof. The course that this war takes, which faction reigns victorious, how it happens, the aftermath of the battle on Hogwarts, these events are not planned or pre-determined in advance, but is dependent on the direction that the participating RPers wish to take the story in, via their characters.

The drama and action will take place on Hogwarts itself, during the course of its Spring Term. As a result, depending on how many characters you feel comfortable playing, you can play a teacher-character (maximum of one teacher per RPer, owing to a limited number of places on the faculty and to allow as many RPers to have at least one teacher-character as possible) and/or student-characters (as many students as you feel comfortable playing, within reason of course). Those teachers and students under your control will interact with other characters in Hogwarts as tensions mount in the wizarding world in Weeks 1-6, and will take part in the internal fighting and battling that engulfs the Hogwarts premises from Week 7 onwards.

You will notice that amongst the cast of characters, Coraspia and I will be playing three characters from the Ministry of Magic. However, take note that these characters only exist so Coraspia and I, as OPs, can set things up and establish the background conflict in the story, because the war that breaks out between the Order and the Alliance will be the product of an internal power-struggle in the Ministry that spills-over into Hogwarts and drags the student body and faculty into the war (again, I won't specify how so as to not spoil the way the conflict unfolds, all will be revealed in the RP on Week 7). Hence, for the purposes of the RP, RPers will not be playing Ministry officials, for the simple reason that the RP takes place in Hogwarts proper, and the bulk of the drama and fighting in the RP is focussed on Hogwarts and will not be taking place in the Ministry of Magic. The three Ministry characters played by Coraspia and I exist solely to set-up the background context and conflict of the RP.

The war that breaks out in the British wizarding world, and on Hogwarts grounds, is between two main factions. The actions of these two factions will unfold and be revealed, week-by-week, at the very start of each week, as explained in "Structure of RP", but it is these actions which are the catalyst for war between the two organisations, which are as follows:

The Wizarding Alliance for Equality and Diversity (known as the "Alliance for Equality" for short, or just "the Alliance") - an advocacy and activist group or non-governmental organisation (NGO) established to promote equal rights for all in the wizarding world, irrespective of one's blood status (for Muggle-borns), magical ability (for Wizard-borns or 'squibs'), or species (for non-wizardkind species). The organisation was founded in 2021, shortly after the election of Hermione Granger as Minister for Magic in 2019, and with her active support and endorsement. However, the organisation reached the peak of its influence near the end of 2032, during the contentious 2032 ministerial election, which saw the election of Aubrey Archibald Douglas as Minister for Magic, who was sympathetic to, and moderately supportive of, the Alliance's aims and objectives. The organisation saw its official membership peak to about 1,000+ members in the 2032-2033 period, largely owing to the more tolerant attitudes of a rising younger generation of wizards and witches, and a massive 'push factor' in the form of the bigoted and prejudiced 2032 campaign of Alexandria Burke-Rosier, whose campaign made veiled accusations that the outgoing Minister for Magic Hermione Granger had spent her two terms attempting to establish a 'Muggle-born oligarchy' and slamming her egalitarian reforms as 'Muggle-born favouritism' and 'pure-blood erasure'. Since the rise of the Douglas administration, the Alliance has managed to champion and advocate for a slew of egalitarian reforms, inclusive of anti-discrimination laws banning organisations from discriminating on the basis of blood-status or species, banning organisations from requesting genealogical records from applicants, anti-hate crime and anti-harassment protections, affirmative action policies to actively encourage the recruitment and hiring of Muggle-borns and 'squibs' into Ministry positions, promoting 'anonymised' application processes which omit the family name of the prospective hire, educational reforms requiring schools like Hogwarts to teach the history of anti-Muggle-born prejudice and discrimination, and laws intended to promote the integration of non-wizardkind species, including granting house-elves a 'right of emancipation' (right to be freed upon request), de-classifying centaurs as 'beasts', repealing the 'wand ban' on goblins and other non-wizard species, recognising the goblins' unique system of property rights, promoting the integration of these species into institutions dominated by wizards (like the Ministry). The Alliance also fought, slightly more controversially, against the entrenchment of internalised prejudices amongst the non-wizardkind species, which it views as a product of the indoctrination of wizards (e.g. the desire of most house-elves to remain enslaved), whilst respecting and promoting changing social attitudes amongst the younger generations of these species. The most prominent of these radical reforms, however, was the creation of the Department of Muggle-born Welfare in 2036, empowered with resources and a budget to promote muggle-born equality within the wizarding community through social programmes and social services targeted at muggle-borns intended to help muggle-borns struggling in school or the workplace owing to blood prejudice, and thereby promote their advancement in the wizarding community, whilst toughening and strengthening the enforcement of regulations against blood-discrimination by companies and institutions across British wizarding society. The Alliance's reforms have been welcomed by muggle-borns and progressive-minded half-bloods, but viewed with suspicion, anxiety, or outrage from pure-bloods and more conservative half-bloods. There will undoubtedly be Hogwarts students and teachers in this RP who are card-carrying members of the Alliance and outspoken supporters of their political aims and objectives. Thus far, they are an advocacy group, planning campaigns, protests, demonstrations, exerting political pressure, but when the war breaks out, its members will have no qualms about taking up arms (or wands) against the Order, becoming a formidable organised fighting force in its own right.

The Hermetic Order of the Acolytes of Gaunt (known as the "Order of Gaunt" for short, or just "the Order") - a highly-secretive extremist organisation of pure-blood and half-blood wizards who support the group's reactionary aims, which seek to reverse and nullify all of the various reforms which the Alliance has successfully secured for muggle-borns, 'squibs', and non-wizardkind during the Douglas administration (2032-2039). The organisation has thus far stayed in the shadows, meeting in secret and plotting what they see as their 'vengeance' upon 'mudbloods' and 'blood traitors' whom they deem responsible for the 'degradation' of the wizarding community, sidelining and marginalising their influence within British wizarding society. Their members have stayed anonymous too, not wanting to risk incarceration, but soon the Order will be ready to make its infamous entrance into wizarding society. Idle talk about hypothetically setting up such an organisation was floated around the period of 2033-2034, following the election of Aubrey Archibald Douglas as Minister for Magic (who had been endorsed by the outgoing Minister for Magic Hermione Granger in 2032), the Order itself then came to be established in secret in the period of 2035-2036. The prestigious and established pure-blood families, who make up a reclusive and insular old-money wizarding high-society, were an extremely reactionary force, and were outraged and incensed at the defeat of the pure-blood Alexandria Burke-Rosier in 2032. To them, the successive victory of Hermione Granger who was elected in 2019 and held the ministerial office for two terms, followed by a sound thumping defeat of a pure-blood witch from a highly-distinguished and esteemed family, horrified the members of this elite class, for to them, it represented a wizarding society that was rapidly changing in an unrecognisable direction. Talk of creating a rival organisation to oppose the aims of the Alliance and the Douglas administration began in these high-society circles, as a mere joke or idle gala gossip, but as the Ministry began to introduce radical reform after radical reform, these families began to feel as if urgent action had to be taken, that pure-bloods like them were a 'dying breed' and a 'maligned minority' which had to take swift action to restore their place and position in the wizarding world, and halt its swift 'descent' down an irreversible path. Hence, the Order was born, with a name that paid homage and tribute to the noble House of Gaunt, a house fiercely dedicated to its pure-blood supremacist ideals and never wavered from them, so loyal to their beliefs even when it resulted in the family's extinction and ruination. Soon after its establishment in 2035-2036, the Order began by slowly and covertly recruiting like-minded reactionary pure-blood and half-blood wizards, with a membership now numbering approximately 500+ or so. The goals of the Order are simple - reverse all of the gains made by the Alliance in the period of 2032-2039, and if possible, go further, ending the acceptance of any new muggle-borns into the British wizarding world, criminalising inter-blood procreation between muggle-borns and 'real' wizards, criminalising blood treason (i.e. wizards who attack and criticise blood-purity beliefs), and returning all muggle-borns back into a state of rightful subservience and social inferiority (whether this means genocide, enslavement, imprisonment in Azkaban, exile from the wizarding world, stripping them of their civil rights, is unclear and differs from member to member, but they are all agreed that full equality between 'mudbloods' and 'real wizards' is a grotesque and intolerable abomination). There will be members of the Order within the Hogwarts faculty and student body, either fanatical ideologues who joined or were recruited because of their own blood-supremacist beliefs, or children of old prestigious wizarding families who were inducted into the organisation as tweens/teens by their parents and raised in that environment. Overwhelmingly, members of the Order can be found in the faculty and students of Slytherin House, as Salazar Slytherin prized students who shared his blood-supremacist beliefs and the selection process of the Sorting Hat (enchanted with the intelligence and will of the founders) reflects that, but there will be the odd exceptional Order member in the other Houses too.

When crafting your teacher or student characters, give some thought to their personal beliefs and views on the above two factions, since the battle between them will be the central conflict of this RP, and will therefore be the most consequential aspect of the character you create. Your character can be a committed member of the Order or the Alliance, or your character can be someone who isn't a member of either group, but is sympathetic to the aims of one group and/or hostile to the aims of the other. Alternatively, if you wish, you can have your character be 'neutral' between the two factions, but if so, please state further and in sufficient detail your character's beliefs and views about each organisation (in the "loyalty/allegiance" section of the app) for RP-planning purposes, rather than merely writing 'neutral' without planning out how your character feels about each faction and their aims and objectives.

Rule 1: Abide by OP decisions - Coraspia and I will be the co-OPs for this RP, and we are here to make sure the story flows smoothly and everyone has an opportunity to explore their intended arcs for their characters. We are always open to suggestions for how to improve various aspects of the RP or the direction that the story should go in, but where disputes may arise between players or over the story, Coraspia and I may need to make a decision that is final so the RP can flow smoothly.

Rule 2: Read the whole OP - This is a bit of a chore, I understand, as a lot has been written for this OP, but do try to read it fully so you understand the world that has been constructed and how the RP is going to work and the overall structure of the story. This is the HP universe, but 40+ years have passed since the end of the seventh novel and obviously a lot has been added to the universe so our characters can navigate a setting with new elements and creative potential for us to enjoy and have fun, so make sure you read the whole OP so everyone is on the same page about the world/environment.

Rule 3: Be canon-compliant - This is still an HP roleplay and posts should strive, as far as possible, to be canon-compliant with the established rules of the HP universe. However, none of us are infallible (that includes Coraspia and I), the HP canon is quite voluminous, and obviously it is only natural that mistakes and slip-ups will be made, and that's okay, provided posts are rectified to be canon-compliant when its pointed out. This rule also works both ways, Coraspia and I are not infallible and omniscient when it comes to the HP canon, and if or when we make mistakes or post something which is not canon-compliant, RPers should definitely feel free to point it out so we can rectify it too. It should be clarified that HP 'canon' is determined here, primarily, by the 7 HP novels, the 1 HP play, and any information on Pottermore/Wizarding World, and secondarily, anything in the HP movies or HP wikias except where it is contradicted by the former primary sources.

Rule 4: No god-modding - This is very important, especially when the battle starts raging on Hogwarts from Week 7 onwards and there is a lot of fighting and duelling between characters. Do not craft posts, especially in duels, which effectively 'seize control' of another player's character and 'make' them behave or react in a particular way in response to your spells/charms. To put it in concrete terms (for any more inexperienced RPers), if you craft a post where your character fires an Avada Kedavra curse at another student, wait for the other RPer to respond, do not just write "and Character X dies" and unilaterally decide what happens to another player's character on their behalf.

Rule 5: No meta-gaming - Also another very important rule in general but especially for this kind of RP in particular, do not have your character be omniscient and magically have access to information about other characters which has not been revealed to your character ICly, whether that information is found in their OOC application, or was divulged in a conversation in the IC thread which your character was not a part of. To put it in concrete terms (again just for the benefit of the more inexperienced RPers), if a character's bio says that he/she is a member of the Order and a pure-blood supremacist, but that player wants that information concealed in the IC and has said nothing to indicate as such in any conversation with your character, it is considered meta-gaming for your character to suddenly 'know' ICly that that character is an Order member simply because you personally know that to be the case OOCly.

Rule 6: Be respectful to other players - Self-explanatory, any harassing or bullying or general disrespectful behaviour to other players will not be tolerated by Coraspia or myself.

Rule 7: Have fun!! - Also self-explanatory lol

Character Biography (do make this detailed, certainly at least 5 lines, because it will also serve as a substitute for an RP sample, go into your character's motivation, their ideology, their background, their personality, most importantly their thoughts on this wizarding world and the brewing conflict therein): Aubrey A. Douglas is a half-blood, born to a half-blood wizard father and a Muggle mother, both of whom married for love, roughly 55 years ago, and while Douglas himself was only a boy during the Second Wizarding War, his parents vividly remember the terror and intimidation as a mixed-blood couple living through the height of the rise to power of Lord Voldemort and his loyal Death Eaters in the late 1990s. As a result of the values they imparted, Douglas is an unusually tolerant and open-minded figure in the British wizarding world, and embraced egalitarian values long before the Alliance rose to the prominent and influential position it clinched in 2032 onwards. Douglas was a rather average student at Hogwarts, but he more than made up for his average grades with his conscientious, diligent attitude and his exemplary work ethic, working his way up in the Ministry of Magic and its Department of International Magical Co-Operation, rising to become a high-level managerial official by the late 2020s. His meteoric rise to fame and his present position came when the former Minister for Magic, Hermione J. Granger, declined to run for a third term in 2031 in order to pursue an academic research post in Beauxbatons, and wanted to sponsor the campaign of another politician for her post, whom she could trust to continue the fight to make the Ministry of Magic a more socially just, egaliatarian, and inclusive institution. It was Minister Hermione Granger who encouraged Douglas to run in the 2032 ministerial election, despite his rather ordinary family background, his modest means, and his rather average ministerial career track record, discerning that in their past interactions he was one of the rare Ministry bureaucrats who appeared to genuinely look up to her and respect her, rather than fearing her or tolerating her authority. His 2032 campaign was rather moderate, in fact at the time the Alliance complained that Douglas's campaign promises were rather unambitious and largely involved preserving Minister Granger's repeal of various blood-discriminatory laws and hiring practices, but went no further in actively promoting and securing social equality for the Muggle-born population. However, the incendiary and allegedly 'dog-whistling' campaign of the aristocratic pure-blood Alexandria Burke-Rosier, who repeatedly accused the Granger administration of 'blood cliqueness', an 'infiltrator lowering the Ministry's drawbridge', and responsible for a 'Muggle-born power grab' and for 'conspiring to radically alter the demographic composition of the Ministry', meant that the Alliance and its progressive-minded disproportionately-young members threw their unbridled support behind Douglas who sailed to a thumping victory over Burke-Rosier in 2032. Since then, despite starting out as a rather moderate Minister for Magic who attempted to balance preserving Minister Granger's reforms (in her abolition of discriminatory Ministry laws and practices that favoured pure-bloods over Muggle-borns in hiring and treatment) against not offending or alarming the pure-blood and half-blood conservatives, increasing pressure and advocacy from the Alliance succeeded in pushing Douglas in a more radical and progressive direction, adopting a whole slew of egalitarian reforms championed by the Alliance, the most prominent of which was his creation of the Department of Muggle-born Welfare in 2036, which gave its Head a hefty budget and real authority to aggressively enforce anti-blood-discrimination regulations, punish institutions and organisations guilty of discriminating against Muggle-borns, and established a slew of generous social programs and services targeted at helping Muggle-borns achieve success and overcome prejudice and discrimination in all areas of public life. The creation of this Department greatly incensed and angered the pure-blood supremacists of the British wizarding world, and firmly cemented him as their enemy in the minds of witches and wizards of that political cloth. Douglas is now in his final year of his initial 7-year term, and is planning for run for re-election in a few months' time, but he is struggling to maintain order and harmony in an increasingly polarised and fractious wizarding society, unable to appease the more radical members of the Alliance whilst incapable of tempering the grievances and bitterness of the pure-blood and half-blood conservatives. The result is that, despite his benevolent intentions, Douglas finds himself increasingly at a loss of how to manage the political crisis that the British wizarding community now finds itself in, and rather unsure of how to ease tensions between two polarised political factions of the wizarding world before it erupts into a violent war. Overall, Douglas cuts the figure of a rather tentative and indecisive politician, with a genuine desire to improve conditions for marginalised races and species, and real sympathies for the cause of the Alliance and its members, whose proposed reforms he has dutifully succeeded in implementing, despite the powerful political enemies that it made him.

Character Biography (do make this detailed, certainly at least 5 lines, because it will also serve as a substitute for an RP sample, go into your character's motivation, their ideology, their background, their personality, most importantly their thoughts on this wizarding world and the brewing conflict therein): Isabella Selwyn was a teenager during the course of the Second Wizarding War, and grew up with a clear recollection of how the pure-blood elite came so close to complete ascendancy and domination of the British wizarding world, only to fail when they were right on the cusp of victory, a resentment and bitterness harboured by her pure-blood parents and fully imparted onto her as well. Isabella hails from the noble, old-money, pure-blood Selwyn family, not simply pure-blood in the more expansive sense of the phrase (i.e. no Muggle or Muggle-born grandparents), but a member of the (rapidly dwindling) Sacred 28 list of families which have (allegedly) been pure-blood for numerous generations, one of the few households on that century-old list which is neither extinct nor mixed-blood. Isabella grew up in a very different world from most children her age, cloistered and sheltered by her family in an extremely-reclusive, conservative, and homogenous wizarding high-society, populated by a handful of rare, old-money, quasi-aristocratic wizarding families which had been pure-blood for numerous generations, an old and ancient social world which has been very rapidly on the decline ever since the defeat of Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters. Isabella had always been an exemplary student, driven largely by her ambition to live up to her esteemed and distinguished ancient family name, and was both a Slytherin Prefect and Head Girl of Hogwarts, excelling academically in all her subjects but especially the subjects which required subtle and difficult-to-master magical knowledge or skill, like Potions and Alchemy. She joined the Wizengamot administrative office upon graduation, and very quickly rose up the ranks of the Ministry through a combination of prestigious family connections and her own talent and skill, featuring a stellar career as an Auror, a member of the Wizengamot judiciary, Head of the Magical Law Enforcement Patrol, and finally, she was promoted to Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, a powerful position she has held onto for over a decade since March of 2027. Isabella is a classic pure-blood supremacist, possessed of a strong eugenic belief that Muggles and Muggle-borns alike do not belong in the wizarding world, that the International Statute of Secrecy must be enforced through preventative measures (i.e. closing the doors of this world to any with close connections to Muggles in the human world), that Muggle-borns lack the genetic or biological pre-disposition or the proper upbringing to understand how to 'assimilate' into the traditions and cultural practices of wizarding society, and consequently they should be 'excluded' from this insular society altogether. Her worldview and mentality very much feels frozen in a quasi-aristocratic caste-like ancient wizarding society of centuries past, the product of having been born into an elite insular circle of pure-blood old-money families whose worldview and mentality had been shielded from the radical social changes of the past few decades and centuries. She reacted to the egalitarian reforms of the Granger administration (2019-2032) and its successor Douglas administration (2032-2039) with immense hostility, antagonism, and antipathy, but she was far too composed and classy to express her disapproval to the two Ministers directly. She viewed the influx of Muggle-borns and even 'squibs' into different posts of the Ministry of Magic with incredible disgust and contempt, seeing it as an unfortunate 'degradation' and 'decline' in the quality of the wizarding world's ruling class, and an unnatural and abominable 'inversion' of a natural hierarchy which she clings onto still. The repeal of discriminatory laws and practices under Minister Hermione Granger and the subsequent reforms to secure social equality for Muggle-born wizards under Minister Aubrey A. Douglas so infuriated Isabella Selwyn and her high-society conservative 'Sacred 28' friends that at parties in the regal Selwyn family estate in Buckinghamshire, Isabella and her friends would make contemptuous remarks about the recent trends in wizarding world politics and the increasing rights and empowerment of the Muggle-born community, and as the situation worsened (in her view) what began as idle chatter and gossip translated into concrete action, and she and numerous other reactionary pure-blood families founded the Order. Isabella is entirely convinced in her zealous distrust of Muggle-borns and their ability to ever truly integrate into wizarding society, and in her position she uses her powers to strenuously police the Alliance and place it under heavy scrutiny and surveillance, owing to the fact that it is an organisation with a history of 'disruptive' protests and demonstrations (i.e. protests which sometimes result in property damage, which sometimes result in eruptions of violence, or which use disruptive tactics such as occupying public spaces or trespassing on government land or disrupting Ministry business and affairs), which in her view vindicates her belief that the Alliance in particular, and 'mudbloods' more generally, are law-breakers and trouble-makers naturally incapable of obeying the rules of the wizarding world. For now, though, Isabella and her friends are biding their time, waiting for the optimal opportunity to bring the Order's goals to fruition - until then, she keeps playing her part of the dutiful civil servant and elegant high-society heiress until that fateful day finally comes.

Character Type (Student/Staff): Staff
Name of Character: Supriya Patel
Sex: Female
Physical Appearance (use a picture, an illustration, or a physical description): Image
Place of Birth: City of London, England, United Kingdom
Date of Birth: 11 November 2001
Age (RP starts on 24 April 2039): 37
Year (if Student): N/A
Hogwarts House (if Staff, specify alumnus House): Slytherin
Blood Status (Muggle-born/Half-Blood/Pure-Blood): Half-blood (Half-blood father and pure-blood mother, only 1 Muggle-born grandparent)
Loyalty/Allegiance (The Alliance/The Order) (specify if your character is a member of that organisation, or a non-member sympathetic to its aims): The Order (member)
Leadership Roles (if you want your character to have a leadership position, check the "Dramatis Personae" in the next post down to see the available positions for students, teachers, and staff, the assignment of roles between players is at the discretion of the OPs, but this is for the purposes of expressing your interest): Transfiguration Professor and Head of Slytherin House
Character Biography (do make this detailed, certainly at least 5 lines, because it will also serve as a substitute for an RP sample, go into your character's motivation, their ideology, their background, their personality, most importantly their thoughts on this wizarding world and the brewing conflict therein): Professor Supriya Patel fully embodies the Slytherin values of ambition, grit, resourcefulness, and determination, and few persons in the wizarding world were as driven to become a success in later life as she was back when she was a student in Hogwarts. Professor Patel hails from a half-blood background, her father is a half-blood who became a self-made success in his own right, as a high-ranking official and administrator in the Department of Mysteries, but his family background is (in Patel's view) rather ordinary and 'common', a Muggle-born father and a half-blood mother hailing from an ordinary wizarding family. Her mother's side, however, is the exact opposite, hailing from the pure-blood Gamp family, which failed to make the Sacred 28 on its own accord, but through marriage was intertwined and inter-connected with some of the most prestigious old-money pure-blood families in the British wizarding world, like the Yaxleys, the Flints, the Burkes, the Bulstrodes, the Macmillans, and more. As such, Patel's enjoyed a comfortable middle-class upbringing in the wizarding world, whose family was on the very fringes and margins of a rarefied and elite pure-blood high-society, coming into contact with its quasi-aristocratic members but never really a member, never truly belonging in that world. It was an upbringing which inspired and provoked in Patel bitterness, envy, and resentment on the one hand, but also immense drive and determination on the other, specifically an unquenchable thirst and ambition to become powerful, successful, and 'great' in her own right. Patel was an immensely gifted and talented student during her time at Hogwarts, her stellar academic performance and her sterling track record as an accomplished duellist and Qudditch player (she had been a Chaser) allowed her to enjoy a successful and vibrant career in the Department of Mysteries until she had built up an impressive résumé and reputation within the British wizarding world, whereupon she decided to pursue an academic career as a researcher and professor at Hogwarts in 2034, assigned to teach Transfiguration and appointed the Head of Slytherin House, but otherwise given leeway and latitude to conduct her own independent research into the fields she was interested in, particularly Potions, the Dark Arts, Charms, and Transfiguration (an accomplished Animagus, Patel had long honed her ability to seamlessly transform into an inconspicuous blackbird and back again). While Patel is not an ardent and principled believer in pure-blood supremacy to the same extent as many other members of the Order, her decision to join is a combination of her own personal ambition to build up a close relationship and connections to some of the British wizarding world's most established, prestigious, and well-connected old-money pure-blood families, as well as her disgust for what she perceived as the increasing lawlessness and anarchy of the Alliance and its activist members. Patel's ambition and determination left her with a rather stern, orderly, no-nonsense personality, making her a strict disciplinarian as a teacher, and someone immensely intolerant of any behaviour she deemed 'rowdy' or 'raucous'. Acts of civil disobedience and disruptive protests by the Alliance in the past, as part of their efforts to advocate for equality for various groups, left a very bad taste in Patel's mouth, and she perceived the Alliance's members as thugs and gangsters uninterested in following the rules of the wizarding world, and various protests and demonstrations in the past which resulted in property damage, vandalism, or fights breaking out between protestors and counter-protestors only hardened and cemented that impression. In Patel's view, the Order represented the promise of a return to a better, more harmonious era, where the Muggle-born 'upstarts' knew their place, followed the rules, and did not convince themself they had the liberty to disobey the law and trespass upon public lands and disrupt public business in the name of championing and furthering its goal of 'equality', and it was this desire to restore law and order to the wizarding world, and a disdainful contempt for what she saw as past Ministers for Magic (Hermione Granger and Aubrey A. Douglas) 'pandering' to the 'mud-blood' 'lawbreakers' and 'troublemakers' in the Alliance and giving them a free reign to act as they pleased in the name of their cause, that made her an outspoken critic of the Alliance's activism, and a target for recruitment by the Order, a call she took up when she was initiated and inducted into the Order in April 2036. While Patel may not be as prejudiced against Muggle-borns on a principled level when held up to comparison with the founding or high-ranking Order members (for example, Isabella Selwyn or the parents of Dominique J. Rosier), that's only on a relative basis - make no mistake, Professor Patel is still an ardent blood-racist in her own right, and takes a very lowly and contemptuous view of Muggle-born wizards as trouble-makers, rule-breakers, loud-mouth activists, violent hooligans, entitled activists demanding more privileges and special treatment, and on and on the derogatory stereotypes went. She is also an obedient member of the Order and takes her oath of initiation very seriously, and will dutifully carry out the orders and commands of its leadership without question or hesitation when the call of duty arrives at her doorstep.

Character Biography (do make this detailed, certainly at least 5 lines, because it will also serve as a substitute for an RP sample, go into your character's motivation, their ideology, their background, their personality, most importantly their thoughts on this wizarding world and the brewing conflict therein): Dominique Jean Rosier is the second-eldest child of two highly-distinguished pure-blood families, the Burkes (on the maternal side) and the Rosiers (on the paternal side), with his paternal grandfather being Felix Rosier (Slytherin Prefect in 1984), and his paternal great-uncle being Evan Rosier (1960-1981), one of Lord Voldemort's loyal Death Eaters in the First Wizarding War. His pure-blood parents, Aimery Rosier III and Alexandria Burke-Rosier, were mere toddlers during the Second Wizarding War, and when the dust had settled, his parents were raised by their insular and blood-prejudiced families to develop a vastly different historical memory of that war than the overwhelming majority of British wizards, viewing the defeat of Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters as the beginning of a precipituous decline and degeneration of the 'quality' and 'stock' of British wizarding society. The Burkes and the Rosiers both belong to the Sacred 28 list of pure-blood families, a century-old list which has severely dwindled in number, with more than half of the families on that list either rendered totally extinct from the last war or have since 'soiled' their blood with Muggles or Muggle-borns in later generations, and the remaining families on that list have developed a paranoid and insular 'siege mentality' over the last few decades, very much feeling like a 'dying breed', their influence in wizarding society quickly waning away as time goes by. This was the charmed, ornate, but incredibly cloistered and reclusive 'old world' that the young Dominique was raised in, a highly-sheltered boy from a privileged but insular family, shuttled around to old-money, high-society events hosted at the Rosier's ancestral home in Chantilly, north of Paris, the family's country-house in Oxfordshire, or its town-house in Surrey, mixing around with the few prestigious and highly-pedigreed 'Sacred 28' pure-blood families which are still around. At these high-society socials, Dominique (through his parents) was exposed to a very narrow and highly-parochial crowd with equally parochial views of the recent changes in the British wizarding world over the past four decades, one dripping with contempt, intolerance, and insecurity over the fate of this 'waning aristocracy'. Aimery Rosier III serves as a prominent and respected judge on the Wizengamot, and Alexandria Burke-Rosier is a prestigious and well-connected socialite and philanthropist, serving on the boards of a number of cultural institutions in the wizarding world (especially the board of trustees for the Wizarding Academy of Dramatic Arts), who launched an infamous 2032 ministerial campaign in which she insinuated that outgoing Minister for Magic Hermione Granger was guilty of attempting to establish a 'Muggle-born oligarchy', through a 'slow-moving coup orchestrated for her blood clique', thereby 'vastly undermining the rights of wizards by radically altering the make-up and composition of the Ministry', a rhetorical approach which sparked an immense backlash from much of the wizarding electorate. Her defeat in that election was a key catalyst for the elitist pure-blood families panicking about their rapidly declining power and influence in this changing society, and together with Isabella Selwyn and their various high-society friends, both Aimery Rosier III and Alexandria Burke-Rosier helped them to found and establish the Order in the period of 2035-2036, becoming some of its highest-ranking members within its elusive leadership. Naturally, Dominique and his siblings were also inducted into the Order by their parents, and since 2037 he has regularly attended secretive Order meetings and training sessions held at the private homes and estates of its most influential and prestigious members (some of which were held in his family's own homes), and as a teenager, his worldview and perspective has been irrevocably shaped by an upbringing that is highly-privileged but immensely insular and cloistered, sheltered and detached from much of the changing social and cultural attitudes in the wizarding world and the progressive and egalitarian values thereof; consequently, like many of the children born into his social milieu, Dominique's mindset and mentality is trapped and stuck in the 'old world' mores of centuries past, shielded and separated from all the progressive socio-cultural advancements made in the contemporary British wizarding world of today. He, like his parents and his siblings, have become entirely convinced that the fall of blood-purity and blood-supremacist values and ideals in British wizarding society has heralded the decline and degeneration of that same society, and urgent action has to be taken to secure the place and status of all persons of wizarding descent (i.e. half-bloods and pure-bloods), which is under imminent threat of attack from 'mudbloods' and 'blood traitors'. Dominique is impressionable and innocent, he is a conscientious and diligent student and studies very hard to excel academically and attain student leadership positions such as his position as a Fifth-Year Slytherin Prefect, and much of this is done to avoid being viewed by his prestigious parents as a failure or a disappointment. He is driven by success and excellence, and his views on Muggle-borns are largely the product of a desire to conform to the ideals of his family and the world he was born into; hence, he does not have an overtly mean-spirited or antagonistic disposition and so he does not go out of his way to harass, bully, or put-down Muggle-borns or 'squibs', but he nevertheless subscribes to a prejudiced worldview that views their existence within the wizarding world as harmful and inimical to its long-term future. His strong yearning for the approval and affirmation of his parents and their extended family (the wider Burke and Rosier households) makes him extremely malleable and manipulable by his parents Aimery and Alexandria, and has driven him to become a loyal and dutiful member of the Order, working overtime to put in extra effort at the Order's regular training and sparring sessions, an inductee completely committed to its goals and more than willing to carry out its commands. In the past, he has also helped to covertly and discreetly recruit like-minded half-blood and pure-blood Hogwarts students who share his beliefs and values into the Order, at the explicit request of his parents.

Character Type: Staff
Name of Character: Rutherford Conyer-Fawley
Sex: Male
Physical Appearance: Rutherford has a curvy black-caned hair and ample forehead with white skin. His eyes are somewhat big and grey under rather thick eyebrows. He has a strong cheekbone and slightly hooked nose.
Place of Birth: Godric’s Hollow.
Date of Birth: February 1st, 1974
Age (RP starts on 24 April 2039): 65
Hogwarts House: Slytherin
Blood Status: Pure-Blood
Wand:Maple, Troll-whisker. 8.5 inches.
Loyalty/Allegiance: True Neutral. Although Rutherford understands the goodness in the Alliance’s aims, he sees the historical logic in the continued supremacy of Wizardkind, and as a pre-War Slytherin, he is not exempted from the prejudices his House was known for.
Rutherford was born from an offshoot of the Fawley bloodline in Godric’s Hollow. Upon attending Hogwarts School he proved an interest in Arithmancy and Ancient Runes. Although selected into Slytherin, he distanced himself from the ideas of Lord Voldemort, not partaking in any student activity that could be related to the Dark Lord. Luckily for him, he was able to leave Hogwarts in the peace that followed, and headed to the Near East and Scandinavia to take part in studies and research relating to Ancient Runes Finno-Nordic and Post-Hittite origin. He published a paper in 1996 and another one in 1997. The former celebrated, while the other shunned due to the political situation in Britain.
Rutherford wrote a number of books relating to both his fields in Near East Ancient Runes and Pre-Roman cultures, and one controversial paper on Pre-Indo-European Ancient Runes.
With the toll the Second Wizarding War had in his family’s main branch, Rutherford decided to stay closer to home. Returning to Britain he took to carpentry, and sold wood and stone-carved runes with both decorative and practical uses to wizarding families.
In 2037 he was offered a position as Professor of Ancient Runes in Hogwarts, and decided to take the calling, feeling age creeping in. Although as a healthy wizard he probably has several decades ahead of him, Rutherford feels the urge to pass on his experience to younger minds before his own rusts and rots.
Leadership Roles: Ancient Runes Professor.

Character Type (Student/Staff): Student
Name of Character: Ranjit Sundarban
Sex: male
Physical Appearance (use a picture, an illustration, or a physical description): Ranjit has terracotta skin, black hair, brown eyes, glasses, and a bit of a paunch. He has been described as "an Indian Harry Potter", a description he hates. He is fifteen and 168 cm. When Ranjit wears Muggle clothes, they are usually quite dapper and fashionable.
Place of Birth: Birmingham, West Midlands.
Date of Birth: September 29, 2023
Age (RP starts on 24 April 2039): 15
Year (if Student): Fourth Year
Hogwarts House (if Staff, specify alumnus House): Slytherin.
Blood Status (Muggle-born/Half-Blood/Pure-Blood): Muggle-Born. Yeah it's tough.
Loyalty/Allegiance (The Alliance/The Order) (specify if your character is a member of that organisation, or a non-member sympathetic to its aims): Apathetic. Would lean toward the Alliance if not for his self-hatred.
Leadership Roles (if you want your character to have a leadership position, check the "Dramatis Personae" in the next post down to see the available positions for students, teachers, and staff, the assignment of roles between players is at the discretion of the OPs, but this is for the purposes of expressing your interest): Has some soft power among the younger students of Slytherin House, but otherwise just a kid. A pretty good student, if that counts.
Character Biography (do make this detailed, certainly at least 5 lines, because it will also serve as a substitute for an RP sample, go into your character's motivation, their ideology, their background, their personality, most importantly their thoughts on this wizarding world and the brewing conflict therein): Ranjit Sundarban was born in a small street of Birmingham to Muggle parents. His mom was an immigrant, and his dad was born in the same house where Ranjit was born. Ranjit grew up surrounded by diversity, but he still felt different from everyone else, mostly because of unrecognized use of underage magic. Even as a small child, Ranjit was good at observing and collecting information, mostly in school classes. He was quiet, but he heard a lot.
When Ranjit got his Hogwarts letter, he was overjoyed to be different for once. He decided to read more about the Wizarding World, and was horrified to see a history of hatred and a race war only four decades into the past. Ranjit immediately set his intention on getting into Ravenclaw House, in the interest of self-preservation and being smart. Despite Ranjit's ardent hope, he got sorted into Slytherin.
During his first year, he was bullied a lot, mostly among his fellow Slytherins, due to being a Muggle-born and very scrawny. But, after hearing an interesting conversation in the boy's bathroom during the beginning of his second year, two of the Slytherin seventh years began doing what he wanted. That brought him the attention of the rest of Slytherin House, and power that stopped Ranjit from being bullied a bit, but only a bit. Ranjit became known as the guy who listened and remembered information, whether in classes or someone else's dirty secrets.
The older students in Slytherin House ignore Ranjit, and the younger students, especially more conservative ones, go to him for secrets reluctantly. Despite Ranjit's role as an amateur information broker, being surrounded by pure-blood supremacist students was bad on his psyche. Ranjit Sundarban became a self-hating Muggle-born. He thinks that if he wasn't a Muggle-born, he could be the best wizard ever and that his own natural deficiencies are because of that. However, he won't join the Order because they would destroy his rights.

Character Type (Student/Staff):
Name of Character: Sheldon Misks
Sex: Male
Physical Appearance (use a picture, an illustration, or a physical description):
Image
Place of Birth: Nice, France
Date of Birth: November 2nd, 1988
Age (RP starts on 24 April 2039): 51
Year (if Student):
Hogwarts House (if Staff, specify alumnus House): Gryffindor
Blood Status (Muggle-born/Half-Blood/Pure-Blood): Pureblood
Loyalty/Allegiance (The Alliance/The Order): The Alliance, card-carrying member, and influential leader
Leadership Roles : Potions teacher, head of the House of Gryffindor
Character Biography: Professor Misks, or Sheldon "Illegal" Misks, is the pure-blood (3 generations of wizards on both sides) Professor of Potions and the head of the house of Gryffindor. They, although born in Paris, moved to Cornwall, England at a young age.
Although pureblood, he has married a muggle woman, Adrina Fisks, and supports the order to protect her wizard child, a Hogwarts prefect (I don't care if this is made a character, it could be from the past) from hate. For this reason, his general good-natured and self-sacrificial personality, lead him to be an influential figure in the Order.
They came from an all Gryffindor household. The family has been proponents of muggle rights since they moved to France from Italy. His grandfather, William Misks, was French minister of Magic during the Wars of Grindelwald, which coincided with muggle World War 2. Misks was an avid proponent of the failed plan to aid the French government with secret operatives posing as scientists, but ultimately it failed and he lost popularity. Although Misks wished to go to Beuxbatons, he ultimately received his letter from Hogwarts but took to it avidly. Before his education, he was known to be oddly capable in many muggle subjects, especially chemistry.
Although kind, [he is known to be excessively strict. He is perhaps the fairest of the Heads of Houses relating to House orientation. He, does, however, give out remedial potions excessively, if you fail two classes, you must take a remedial course.
He voted for Ministers Granger and Douglas, and thinks that after Douglas' term expires, Granger should run again. He was a member of the Order of the Pheonix and participated in the capture of Death Eaters after the Battle of Hogwarts. He was appointed as Assistant to the Minister under Shacklbolt but became a Professor when Snape retired. Anyhow, he condemns the Pureblood notion of grandeur, and has sought to subvert this subtly in his class. He only allows students who he suspects are Order of the Purebloods in his class at the direct demand of Headmistress Olivaander, who won't allow an unconfirmed hunch partially based on blood status decide class composition.

Character Type (Student):
Name of Character: Marcellus Julius Anselm Travers
Sex: male
Physical Appearance (use a picture, an illustration, or a physical description):
While Marcellus was growing up, the size of the young man led to a certain amount of mutterings in the halls of the exclusive wizarding fraternity which his parents were a part of. The possibility that one of them must have mated with a giant, always denied by both parents, never truly went away as their son grew to the impressive height of 7 ft 4 inches. His body supported this height with a muscular frame that is the envy of most of his peers, and he regularly put that to good use in quidditch and a whole host of muggle sports. His face is noble in appearance with high cheekbones and a mouth seemingly designed for the sort of self-important sneer that both he and his father often adopt, for very different reasons. His light brown eyes are often almost obscured under the mane of light, almost white, blonde hair that he wears long and allows to fall freely. When he speaks he has one volume setting, that being booming.
Place of Birth: Amesbury, Wiltshire
Date of Birth: 12 April 2021
Age (RP starts on 24 April 2039): 18
Year (if Student): 7th
Hogwarts House (if Staff, specify alumnus House): Ravenclaw
Blood Status (Muggle-born/Half-Blood/Pure-Blood): pure-blood
Loyalty/Allegiance (The Alliance/The Order) (specify if your character is a member of that organisation, or a non-member sympathetic to its aims): Alliance (sympathetic)
Leadership Roles (if you want your character to have a leadership position, check the "Dramatis Personae" in the next post down to see the available positions for students, teachers, and staff, the assignment of roles between players is at the discretion of the OPs, but this is for the purposes of expressing your interest): head boy
Character Biography (do make this detailed, certainly at least 5 lines, because it will also serve as a substitute for an RP sample, go into your character's motivation, their ideology, their background, their personality, most importantly their thoughts on this wizarding world and the brewing conflict therein):
Marcellus Travers was born in the sleepy town of Amesbury, Wiltshire at his familys ancestral country pile. The town had once been populated by a number of well-respected pureblood families, it being located only a stones throw away from Stonehenge; now however their numbers have dwindled. The Travers family, one of the shrinking group known as the 'sacred 28,' are still very well to do and spend a lot of their money on securing the loyalty of ministry officials, 'friends' in other parts of the world and on the lavish lifestyle expected of such a high name.
From an early age, Marcellus was whisked around a variety of balls, galas and high-brow parties held by the few families his pureblood family held to be in high enough regard, as well as select foreign families who his father Albert had dealings with.
Albert Travers, a cousin of a man who served with Lord Voldemort in both the first and second wizarding wars, had always harboured a great degree of resentment and bitterness at the place of wizardkind in this new post-war world. To him, while the numbers of wizards was stable the proportion of that number made up of 'real' wizards was continuing to sadly dwindle. His wife Roberta Emilian (a pureblood Transylvanian witch) shared her husbands views, and raised Marcellus to believe them also.

There must have been a part within him however that did not take to the teachings of his family, and, inciteful as ever the sorting hat uncovered this. For the first time in several hundred years a Travers was sorted into a house other than Slytherin. This began the process that ended up resulting in a wide rift between son and parents, as the people he now called his housemates began to mould the impressionable young Marcellus more into the image of what a Ravenclaw was supposed to be. Marcellus began to believe that ones ability with magic, rather than ones blood status, was what determined their worthiness to hold the title of wizard. Visits home led to loud rows between parents and son until finally they became briefer and briefer.
Several futile attempts were made by the family to induct Marcellus into the Order of Gaunt, however much to their embarrassment he flatly refused in front of representatives of all the other major pureblood and halfblood families present. As he explained to his father, he believes their aims to be almost criminally stupid and to have nothing to do with the welfare of wizardkind, but rather the continued wealth of a few select families.
The boy who rejected these advances is now a man, angry at the pureblood elite and armed with knowledge of just who a lot of them are if not what they are planning.

Ooh a Muggle-born Slytherin, love the backstory, it'll be really interesting to see your character in this setting, the app is ACCEPTED

Also, small thing but whenever you come back to add the physical description which you've marked as WIP, could you also just add your character's age in the app? Should be 15, based on the birthday, thanks :)

The application looks great so far, I'll accept and add the link once you're done with the character biography (no rush, of course!) but just wanted to reply to let you know I've seen the app, I haven't missed it, and once the biography's done I'll accept and add your character to the list, its looking good so far :)

EDIT: Also, really small thing but whenever you come back to finish up the app, could you also edit the code for the biography to ensure that only "Character Biography:" is bolded and everything after it isn't (basically like I've edited it to in this reply when I quoted your app), just makes for easier reading, its a small aesthetic thing I know, apologies for the bother

Anyways glad to have you on board with us, looking forward to seeing where you take Professor Misks :)

I edited it. But I have some questions. I assume the History of Magic teacher is still Professor Binns?

Given that the headmistress doesn't generally teach normal lessons, and that a ghostly professor is unlikely to lose interest in his job I have no issue with that. As I hope to explain in the headmistress app however the curriculum for history of the wizarding worldm (replacing history of magic) has changed somewhat.

He only allows Order members in his class at the direct demand of Headmistress Olivaander.

Professor Misk's application has been completed.

Excellent, welcome to Hogwarts, the app is ACCEPTED, I'll add him to the cast

By the way, when you say in the app "he only allows Order members in his class at the direct demand of Headmistress Ollivander", just wanted to clarify if thats meant to refer to the Order in the OP, or the Order of the Phoenix in the sentence just before, apologies just wanted to double-check :)

Yeah, what Coraspia said, I'll let him go into more detail on the world-building in his character profile for Martina Ollivander, but in essence, one of the reforms of the Douglas administration (2032-2039), alluded to in the OP, was changes to the Hogwarts curriculum, including replacing History of Magic with "History of the Wizarding World", and the contents of this new subject are a matter of public controversy and one of the many things that divides the two factions in the rp. That's all I'll explain for now but I'll let Coraspia go further into that aspect of the world we've built in his Martina app, hope that helps :)

If I may, although Professor Ollivander's application hasn't been completed yet.
Professor Ollivander would never put restrictions on which students are permitted to enter classes. As with the HP universe Hogwarts, decisions regarding class assignments are made by professors either in optional subjects or following the OWL examinations. Professor Ollivander would not allow discrimination based on blood status, and given that there is no way of knowing who is an order member besides that, neither her nor professor Misks have a failsafe method of determining who is or is not an order member.

Well lets say then that the only reason he accepts those he has suspicions of is because Headmistress Olivaander wouldn't let him go off a hunch, which yes is based partially n blood status.

The IC hasn't been made yet, we're leaving the OOC thread open for more applications and I'll TG you and everyone else involved when the IC is up

Would it be possible to change that part of the app? As Coraspia mentioned the Headmistress would be unwilling to put these kinds of restrictions on who can study Potions or not, and moreover at least in this world the members of the Order aren't supposed to be common knowledge anyways or something that the members would advertise or openly admit, which make an Order-only class a little difficult

i edited it. If you need, I'll just remove that section, as I think it would be less fun if I was allowed to ban sussed Order members.
