Character DescriptionName: Marcus “M” R. Chandler (Moni)
Gender: Male
Age: 24 years old
Appearance:Appearance
Additional Notes: Stands at 5’9” tall, weighs 165 lbs., and is lean but muscular. When out as his vigilante persona, he wears an outfit not too dissimilar from the Aiden Pearce's default outfit (from Watch Dog fame) and some black leather gloves.
Superpowers!
Skills and Powers:
- Sensory Disruption [4] - Producing a 90 dB snap from his fingers, anyone who hears the snap will lose their ability to hear and speak, the sound sending a signal to the brain to temporarily disable the organs responsible for those tasks. In addition, a bright flash can be produced from the snap to disable anybody’s eyesight if seen by the target. Effects can last up to 30 minutes at the longest and a minimum of two minutes at the shortest. Of course, this can be obscured through various means, such as the level of ambient sounds, obstacles and the material they’re made of, wearing hearing protection equipment, and equipment that can reduce or negate light from blinding the user. Although, should Marcus touch the target, this allows him to disrupt his target’s senses.
- Agility/Close Combat [2] - Despite not being particularly strong or the fastest, being trained in close quarters and hand-to-hand combat since his childhood, Marcus knows his ways around a fight. He’s also been trained in movement, which allows him to traverse most terrain smoothly.
- Firearms [1] - He’s no better than a soldier, but with his chosen firearms of choice (Springfield XD-M in 9mm, a Ruger MK IV suppressed, and an integrally suppressed Ruger 10/22 Takedown), he is proficient enough to hit his targets with reasonable accuracy, maintain his weapons properly, and operate them without any trouble.
- Armor [1] - Wears a hidden vest that is Level IIA protection level.
Backstory:
Marcus didn’t have much of a childhood, because ever since he was old enough to remember, he was always training. There were other kids with him, often pitted against them as part of said training but they were typically kept isolated from one another. By the age of 7, the kids he trained had dwindled down to a mere five, the rest “disappearing” over the course of time. Deemed as an acceptable subject, Marcus was assigned to his new “parents”, who happen to be high profile thieves. Of course, a specially trained child wasn’t enough and with extra funds exchanged, Marcus would be experimented on in hopes that he would develop useful powers for his parent’s chosen profession. This is how his powers manifested and luckily for him, the Chandlers thought it useful, fully adopting him by the age 9.
The young boy felt relief, thinking that at the very least the hard part of his life was over, but those dreams were promptly crushed when a new training regimen was introduced by Mr. Chandler. Regularly, they would spar and would often lead to Marcus being severely beaten each time. This would change when he learned that he could apply his new powers with a touch, not allowing any time for his opponent to take him down before his powers came into effect. Age 11, the Chandlers would take him on his first heist, where he was placed in charge of “disabling “ the staff and customers. Because of his successful use of his powers, the Chandlers would get away with a little over five-million dollars in cash, before law enforcement arrived. Getting used to his powers, he and his parents would continue to hit banks every six months, while in the down time, keep training any relevant skills for this kind of thing. Falling into a rhythm, these operations would follow the same pattern until a new factor was introduced in their “family”.
Age 14, a “sister” would be introduced. This was their living blowtorch, naming her Erica. Initially, both were very apprehensive in interacting with one another, but started growing close when finally given a chance to talk. He learned that, while not from the same organization, hers was considered a “sister” organization that focused on “custom” superpowered humans. With her addition, the Chandlers would get bolder and bolder, hitting different banks three times a year rather than twice. And now at a prime age to do more fighting, his skills in fighting and the occasional shooting of someone was used. Over the course of three years, their bond would get stronger and stronger, as she became an integral member of their family. It didn’t matter that they weren’t biological siblings, no one could tell them that they weren’t family. In a way, this feeling extended to the Chandlers. But something changed.
The high achieved from robbing banks would not be enough for the Chandlers, who began to take on hits for added thrill and revenue. This would lead to Marcus being separated from her sister to participate on hits. However, by the age of 19, this became normal too. What wasn’t normal was Erica being prostituted or at least attempted to be by her parents, after he was sent away to be a hitman. Enraged upon learning about this, Marcus vowed to never let Erica experience that ever again. One night, Marcus took his mother’s pistol as they slept and walked up to their sleeping forms, both none the wiser and unable to hear. Four shots would ring out and the young man took whatever money he could, prior to leaving with his sister in the dead of night. From there on out, they would hop from city to city, not staying too long in one place, afraid of being discovered.
Finally, at age 20, they would both end up in New Cottington with their starting funds nearly empty. Forced into desperation they would end up no better than their parents, planning and doing heists (albeit in a much more miniscule scale) for a few months. This would eventually lead them with an encounter from a member of the Sentinels, who convinced them to surrender and offered both of them membership, under close supervision of course, as a way of repentance for the city and her people. Eventually Erica would fall in-love with the city, being dedicated to helping the citizens out through the Sentinels anyway she can and Marcus unable to say no, decided to the do the same to keep her little sister safe.
Character DescriptionName: Erica “E” Chandler (Suri)
Gender: Female
Age: 23 years old
Appearance:Appearance
Additional Notes: Stands at 5’3”, weighs 109 lbs., and is of normal build. Her vigilante outfit is matching with her brother's, with the exception of her jacket being a light gray instead of brown and not wearing any gloves at all.
Superpowers!
Skills and Powers:
- Blowtorch [4] - Erica can superheat the entirety of her body up to 4000° Fahrenheit (takes approximately 5 minutes to max temp.), allowing her to melt through a lot of things that touch her bare skin except for the most heat resistant of materials. This does not include any clothes she wears, so in practice, she only applies it to her hands and forearms for a faster start-up and more precise application of her powers. Telltale of the usage of the ability are the literal fiery eyes and her glowing hands/body. Because of her power, it stands that she‘s impervious from heat not exceeding her maximum temperature.
- Heat Field [4] - Upon reaching a minimum of 2500° Fahrenheit, Erica can produce a field of similar to equal heat around her, roughly 50 feet in diameter. This is used as a defensive ability, as at its highest temperature, will melt small enough objects prior to reaching Erica. Despite this, anything the size of a baseball or larger and fast enough will still get through, as she is not impervious to the transfer of kinetic energy.
Backstory:
Created, not born, Subject #516 was among several dozen grown in tubes, all of them designed to have powers and to be sold to the highest bidder that wanted them. Once grown enough to be taken out tubes, she would be taken care of like any other baby. By the age of 5, regularly scheduled testing would be introduced, which ranged from intense stress tests to simply talking with therapists about their day. During a stress test, 516’s powers awakened, her whole body glowing with heat and causing the current personnel to evacuate. The end result was the room being destroyed, with floors and sections of the walls seriously charred or partially melted. That would begin her constant training to hone her powers.
It would take roughly seven years to completely get her powers under control, with the constant tests finding out that her maximum temperature can rise up to 4000° Fahrenheit. In that timeframe also, she learned to control her powers during the “time of the month” for all growing young women. After turning thirteen, 516 would be ready to “graduate” and await for someone to purchase her. As fate would have it, her buyers would be the Chandlers and their adopted son, Marcus. Exposed to the world outside of the designated buildings and having more perceived freedom, it was simply eye-opening for her. When they got home, 516 would be bestowed the name of Erica by her parents. At first awkward with her new family, would eventually warm up.
Integrating her wasn’t hard, as the family had done these before. Of course, a short training would be in order, which involved her cutting into a small safe and mock vaults with her hands. While not adding to the efficiency of their operations, they didn’t have to worry about her getting stuck during the vault-breaking process. At the same time, with her brother being designated as her personal protector, their bonds would get stronger over time. And with the success of these heists, the Chandlers would enter the hit business and Erica would be separated from Marcus much more often.
Feeling that they could get more use out of Erica, the Chandlers would plan to sell her body, as they started talking to her about it and how there was nothing wrong with it. On her eighteenth birthday, they had set up with a rich client who was in their fifties, but the plan failed when Erica became distressed and killed the man by accident as she caused him to burst into flames. The young woman would contact her brother and would set in motion the plans for their parents to die. When the deed was done, they took off in the night, carrying as much as they could. Eventually they would end up in New Cottington, desperation creeping in as they ran low on the funds that they started out with. This would lead them committing crimes, such as stealing from places like Bodegas to breaking into stationary bank trucks. Their presence attracting the notice of Sentinels, they would come to a head during one of their operations, which lead to their recruitment. Forced to stay in one place now, Erica would fall in love with the city and would start to buy into the whole helping/saving people thing with the sentinels.

Erika is grand... for Marcus, what would stop him say, strolling along snapping out the Addam's Family theme music and immobilising everyone?

He formed a friendship with one of the members, Entropy, who showed him the ropes and effectively became like an older sibling. Eli was tasked to kill a Corporate leader, but baulked because he was afraid to become a killer like the rest. He had a brief tussle with Entropy, and fatally wounded them. He ran and ran to try and clean the blood off his hands, and escape what he had done. He turned to the NC Sentinels for protection and a family to fill the emptiness inside him.

He stopped going to school after an altercation with someone exposed his unnatural abilities. After this, his own father turned against him. It started off as pretty minor, such as the doors in the house being locked pretty much at all times. He wondered if his father was just paranoid, but it evolved into getting kicked out of the house for hours, then days. The last time that it happened, he left for good. His father didn't bother looking for him.
After a while on the run, he encountered another person with superhuman abilities, they were called Entropy, who was the leader of a small band of mercs, all with other abilities. Entropy completely destroyed him, and left him for dead, stating that if he didn't use the abilities he had, he wouldn't be long for this world. He formed a friendship with one of the members, Silence, who showed him the ropes and effectively became like an older sibling. Eli was tasked to kill the leader of a corporation that was deemed 'Dangerous for Humankind', but baulked because he was afraid to become a cold blooded killer like the rest. He argued with Silence, because they were pushing him with dark intent and emotions. He fought with all their strength, but Silence just sat there and took it. Eli realised too late what he had done and ran to try to escape the reality of what he had done. He turned to the NC Sentinels for protection and a family to fill the emptiness inside him.
