Alright so not sure how this oversight happened, but Georgia didn’t have a Gubernatorial election in 2008, and hence Oscar naturally can’t run for Governor this term unless there is a special election. Since I haven’t introduced the character on the IC yet, I'll switch his target to Senator instead unless OPs are fine with a special election of some sorts (incumbent passing away)

I say go ahead. There's no rule saying you can't change the mind of your character on what he wants to run for, and Senator is more interactive anyway.

So if any other Republican candidates (or any other characters, I guess) will be in Des Moines on 14th maybe we can do an RP together!

Also, as I have now been in the game a month, can I apply for a Senate character?

He originally was interested in computer and information studies, but eventually gained a degree in international relations and affairs.

After leaving university in 1982, he worked briefly for the CSIS think tank, before following in his father's footsteps and joining the Navy in the Office of Naval Intelligence. He received the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal for intelligence collection service in Operation Earnest Will. He was on the USS Stark when it was hit by two Exocet missiles in May 1987, getting injuries to his right arm, and was discharged that same year. After leaving the Navy, he, supported by his father, entered politics and entered the 1988, 1990 and 1992 Democrat New York State Senate primaries, in vain. During this time, he went back to the CSIS as a foreign policy advisor. Finally, in 1994, he gained the nomination for the 28th State Senate district, and won.

As Senator, he drafted a strict State Senate bill to combat the invasive species Asian long-horned beetle, something which gave him a name recognition boost. He also advocated for the Iraq War, and, after 9/11, the War in Afghanistan.

On 9/11, George was one of the first to publicly advocate a war on terror, and made a State Senate speech declaring that "Terror must not, cannot and will not govern America." He also drew on his CSIS and ONI experience to observe that "If they can destroy the heart of what is America, they are ready to fight us, in their homeland and in ours." He proposed, and passed, a state bill providing relief to the victims and security to New York. His, like most other New York officials', popularity surged after 9/11.

In 2002, he announced that he was not going to stand, and hinted that he may go for the gubernatorial election. He briefly worked for CSIS again, and became a policy advisor to the Department of State on the Middle East, before returning to politics in the Democrat gubernatorial primaries in 2006. He had the backing of many of his colleagues in the State Legislature, and the urban and rich population centred in New York City; however, he spent a lot of time in the rural areas and tried to connect with the minorities. He was on a platform of increased social programs, and cutting down on bureaucracy. He supported abortion, which was one of his more popular platforms, but advocated for more security- which, in the eyes of the people, meant less privacy (and George stressed strongly that he was not advocating for less privacy, but more security, and that those two were different things). He also planned to strengthen the State Police.

He won the primaries for Governor with 54.29%, and the gubernatorial with 52.8%, having the highest majorities in New York City and the urban areas. His majority was so slim partly because of his support for the War on Terror.

Since taking office, he has tried to get a start on his policies, and an abortion rights bill is currently in the State Legislature. Other measures, including some controversial privacy-related ones, are rumoured to be planned, and the latest opinion polls give him only a 5-point lead over the Republicans.

I'm technically already locked in to DC on the 14th, so I may have to modify that for either event. I was in DC to get a feel for my caucus after the VA Tech shooting, which happened on the 13th.

In 1990, Robert Mugabe Jones decided to go into politics, as successful lawyer and businessman. He runs for Attorney General of Washington, District of Colombia. He do this from 1991 to 1994 then run for Delegate to House of Representatives. He won that role and went to the Capitol. Because it is illegal, he sells, Jones Grill to his son Mandela Jones. He oppose George Bush and the Republicans and their wars. Goals include keeping abortion legal, banning dangerous guns, and making Washington, District of Colombia into a state.

Looks pretty good to me, just know that his support for Iraq and stuff definitely didn't and won't age well. It's ok though, I don't think New York voters would care as much.

He needs actual strengths and weaknesses, and the deep state doesn't exist IRL or in this RP. This guy looks like a sabotage character, that's not allowed either...I recommend reading over the rules of roleplay first.

Biography: Colin Reed was born in 1950 to a man and women from Guam. His mom was a world champion water-skier nicknamed "the Pride of Guam", who brought in food for the family and his father was the Chief of Police of Guam. Colin loved his life in Guam! He played Baseball and Waterski'd with his mother. Colin was extremely smart and graduated high school with all A's. Tragedy struck however, when his father used a police boat in the year of 1966 to reverse over his mother 13 times accidentally, making her into mince meat. Colin cried a lot that day and promised to continue his mothers legacy.

In 1968, Colin decides to go to Guam University to do Philosophy. He met his wife there, an exchange student from Armenia. They fell for each other fast and Colin confessed his love for her a few hours after meeting her. They would remain together while Colin was at University and Colin would propose in his final year. He would also throw his bak out while proposing, leaving him in extreme pain and the recognisable and Iconic Colin Reed walk.

Once graduated and married to his Armenian wife Aghavni. Colin went on to coach the USA Waterskiing team. He was not the best coach to begin with most of the team coming dead last when he took over, however through determination and luck, the team clawed back to middle of the board by the time he left them in 1988. That is when he left the waterskiing team and became a commentator for FOX Sports! Which he loved doing for 6 years. That is when he decided to start his run for Congress.

His key priorities for Guam was to make it a state, increase waterskiing funding and to stop hate crimes against Armenians. It would be a very hard fought primary, but Colin won because he had the support of the Police who loved and respected his late father. He also convinced many people because he was born in Guam that he was a Guam native. After he won the primary, it was smooth sailing to the general Election victory. He campaigned in schools and with small business, and his win was big.

After being elected, his key priorities are making Guam a state. He thinks it is very possible within the 2007-2009 term of Congress. He does not like George Bush really, he thinks that he ruined the country for all Americans and is a pacifist.

Other Info: Speaks fluent Armenian because of his wife. Loves Guam!
