Total Immunity. Carriers have no limit since you are technically a vector of infection.

Name:Cameron Swanson
Age (DoB): June 5th, 1993
Nationality: American
Appearance: Tall, fair skinned. Muscular build. Height: 6'1". Weight: 210 pounds. Some scarring on face and torso
Image

Occupation: CIA Security Protective Services
Immunity: Carrier

Equipment:
M4A1 Carbine:
Foregrip
Red dot sight
Sling
9 o'clock mounted IR/visible laser sight
3 o'clock mounted flashlight
4 Magazines of 5.56x54 NATO

Glock 17:
3 magazines of 9mm

Level III body armor
First aid kit
Armored Ford Explorer
ASP Baton
3 days worth of food
water bottle
SPS uniform
sunglasses

Skills:

Weapon Proficiency
As a former military member and CIA SPS officer, Cameron is highly proficient with most forms of weapons

Hand-to-hand combatives
As part of his SPS training Cameron was taught how to effectively combat an opponent in hand-to-hand engagements in both lethal and non-lethal ways

Calm under pressure
Having spent most of his working life in environments that could quickly develop in to high-stress, Cameron is unlikely to freeze up and it will take a lot of stress to make him panic.

Weaknesses:

Harsh
Cameron has made little time for those who can't keep pace with him

Narrow-minded
Cameron has a very specific skillset, and often will attempt to apply that skillset to situations in which it isn't always best suited. However he knows a better idea when he sees one and can be convinced to do something someone else's way.

Personality:Quick to action, prefers to use logic over emotion, isn't a people person but isn't antisocial or otherwise problematic.

Likes: American Football, camping, weight-lifting.
Dislikes: Hot weather, large gatherings of people

Biography: Born in Chicago to a maid and police officer, Cameron grew up fairly poor. His early life was filled with fistfights and bloodied noses, the scars of which are still seen in the form of a nose that has been repeatedly broken. After he graduated from high school, his grades were adequate enough to go to college, however he did not have the money to attend higher education, so Cameron wound up in the Army. He would serve in Iraq and Afghanistan, seeing friends shipped back home with missing parts or in body bags while he himself walked out practically scotch free. After he got out of the military he used his post-service benefits to attend college, getting a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. From there he decided to join Law Enforcement, however he did not want to be some run-of-the-mill cop. So he decided to enroll in the Security Protective Services training program. His previous military experience made the physical portion of the training easy, and he picked up on the other aspects of training fairly quickly. In his career with the SPS Cameron found more than just an idle job, the responsibility of guarding the CIA Headquarters at Langley carrying a hefty amount of action.

When the virus broke out, Cameron was involved with facilitating the evacuation of the Agency and its personnel. He himself was not evacuated before the infected bore down on the compound. He and his fellow officers fought to the last, doing the best they could to kill as many infected as possible before they themselves were overwhelmed. 6 hours later, and Cameron found himself to be the last man standing. His comrades all having been killed by the ravening hordes of infected laying dead on the ground. He figured that staying at Langley was a bad idea, and decided to go to Chicago to try and see if his family was still alive. So he tossed weapons, food, and ammunition in to the back of a Ford Explorer, and set off for Chicago. His journey there was fairly uneventful, however slow-going as he had to bypass abandoned National Guard checkpoints and large population centers to avoid the infected. He has just recently arrived in the city, and is now set to explore in the hopes of finding at least traces of his family.

Name: Paul Reeves
Age (DoB): 20 | 4/1/1998
Nationality: American
Appearance: Paul. Somewhat tall but lanky at 6'0" and 170 lbs. Brown hair and brown eyes and a notably stout face. Usually looks as if he has low energy or is simply just tired, and is notably paler than most. Has a burn from a previous fry cook job on his right forearm that didn't seem to heal properly, leaving behind a dark, diagonal mark on his skin.

Occupation: Student; College Sophomore | Warehouse worker.
Immunity: None

Equipment:
  • Backpack:
    • Pen and paper
    • Stainless steel water bottle
    • Granola bar, x2
    • Bandages
    • Extra pair of clothes
    • Small pillow
    • Flashlight
    • D-Batteries for flashlight (x2)
    • Duct tape
    • Old magazines and textbooks
    • Uneaten FEMA rations
    • Uneaten dining hall cookies, x2
    • Laptop + Laptop charger
  • On Person:
    • Gray hoodie, size large
    • Loyola University T-shirt, Size Large
    • Jeans
    • Black steel toed boots
    • Folding pocket knife
    • Gerber Truss Multi-tool
    • iPhone plus charger
    • FIRM GRIP work gloves, black/gray
    • Wallet
      • ID, College ID, credit card, $50, various gift cards
    • Crowbar

Skills:
  • Photographic Memory: Strangely enough, Paul has a relatively photographic memory, and is able to accurately recall minute details like locations, faces, directions, quantities of things, and more.
  • Resistant: Paul is a natural night owl and can operate on much less sleep or energy than most without any apparent flaws to his focus or efficiency, though this has its drawbacks if his fatigue gets to extreme levels.
  • Common Sense: It's very hard to fool Paul; he can easily spot liars and knows if someone isn't being genuine with him. He also has an aversion to obvious traps and disadvantageous situations, and will actively steer clear of these threats if he notices them.
  • Boot: Paul has spent much of his teenage years engrossed in militaria and considers himself a firearms enthusiast, although his knowledge is significantly narrow compared to experts. Although not a decent shot, he is familiar with the operation of most firearms, and can most of the time identify anything military-related with ease.

Weaknesses:
  • Paranoid: Having been bullied and ostracized from friend groups in the past, Paul was of the belief that everyone in the world was out for him, and the outbreak and underlying mental issues like depression only exacerbated his paranoia. It's extremely hard for him to gain someone's trust at this point.
  • Humorless: Paul is not a very charismatic or persuasive individual, nor is he funny at all. He's blunt and straight to the point, and overall not a very good people person. This makes him a horrible liar and negotiator, and an overall boring person to talk to.
  • Light Sleeper: Paul is a very light sleeper, it's hard for him to fall asleep and it's very easy for someone to wake him up if he is asleep.
  • Low Willpower: Paul suffers from depression and is very pessimistic, and has lost a lot of motivation to better himself or his situation. The outbreak, of course, has only exacerbated his issues. Sometimes, he seems to be on the verge of a psychotic break, other times he simply seems as if he's about to just give up.

Personality: At best, Paul is a cynic, a loner, and somewhat detached from reality. He works best while on his own and unaided by others, and is fairly focused when given a menial task like work. He seems to be fond of small animals, particularly turtles. He's somewhat of a creep when it comes to girls, but is otherwise polite to people, even if he doesn't want to talk to them. Paul also lacks any sense of initiative, and usually is spurred on by others coming to the rescue or by a high-stress situation forcing him to take action.

Likes: Video games, peace and quiet, guns, militaria, small animals, reptiles, cute girls
Dislikes: Work, needles, the government, junk food, talking to people

Biography:
Paul Reeves was born in Chicago as the youngest son in a family with one older brother and one older sister. His siblings would often tease and make fun of him for his social awkwardness and overall unusual behavior, which included a borderline obsession with video games and a lack of regular interaction with others. He had a fairly unremarkable childhood, notably earning exceptional grades in mathematics and the sciences. He was often put into "gifted" classes and honors programs alike, leading his parents to believe that he was gifted.

Although he and no immediately family members had no prior experience in the military at all, Paul participated in his high school JROTC program, citing his interest in the military and firearms as being the main factor. He would excel in JROTC, progressing to S3 of his high school's JROTC program and also participated in color guard. He was described as being a very motivated cadet, even if he was on the quiet side.

Paul's streak of academic success followed him throughout high school. He was one of the highest-scoring students in his graduating class on standardized tests, but the signs of academic burn out were showing, namely an overall lack of participation in major social activities like prom and parties in favor of studying and maintaining his good grades. Even worse, Paul was ostracized from his one and only friend group after he admitted his feelings to a girl in the friend group, which was misconstrued as an obsession. He was branded as a creep and pervert, and depression kicked in as the news spread among other groups in his class, although he couldn't do much about it. Regardless, he managed to graduate from high school with high honors, and was readily accepted to Loyola University on track to complete a computer science degree.

While in Loyola, Paul's grades suffered as his depression and paranoia worsened. He was on the verge of losing his scholarship, and his roommate, a similar loner named Cole Bennett, often was concerned about his behavior, likening it to crippling depression. All the while, he felt his connection to the world begin to wane, and devoted much of his days to browsing the internet, studying in his room, or simply just staying in his room and doing nothing.

His roommate, in an attempt to break the rut, invited Paul to his job at a warehouse near the university, an offer which Paul took hesitantly. Paul's spirits seemed to lift for a brief moment as his skill with numbers and good memory helped him out immensely in his job, but when business began to tank due to the outbreak and quarantine, he found himself back on campus with Cole, and back in his depressive spiral. His loss of contact with his family and the state of Loyola meant that Paul was late to evacuate, and was effectively trapped on campus with dwindling supplies and motivation.

Name: Dr. Curtis Freeman
Age (DoB): 37 (03/11/1981)
Nationality: American
Appearance: Dr. Curtis Freeman is of the somewhat sterotypical appearance of a smart man; clean shaven, thick rimmed glasses, black hair on the shorter end of things, blue eyes, and a face unmarred by scars, freckles, or moles. He is rather generic, standing at 6'2 and hovering around 180 pounds, Curtis is not exactly athletic, but he isn't over or underweight. He lacks any identifying markings.

  • Three doses of anti-HIV/AIDS grade "Triple Cocktail"
  • CDC ID
  • 2003 Toyota Hilux 4-Door

Skills:
Biology Degree
Curtis has attained distinction for his Microbiology PhD, and his epidemiology Masters, and was for a period before societal breakdown to be one of the countries foremost experts on said subjects, now it's likely he is the foremost expert considering the life expectancy of people who hang around zombie tissue samples nowadays.

Walking Encyclopedia
A lifetime of being shut in to a library has resulted in the man picking up tidbits of information from nearly every walk of life. While he is far from a master at any of it, he typically has enough info to at least be semi-competent at most things.

Weaknesses:
No Time to Think
In high pressure events, Dr. Freeman typically makes rash decisions without properly thinking, most often to his detriment.

Ocular Mess
Dr. Freeman is badly nearsighted, and has an astigmatism in his left eye. While the man isn't likely to be totally blind without his glasses, anything past 20 feet becomes a blurry mess without corrective lenses.

Personality: Dr. Freeman is very far from vocal about much of anything. He is very much a self isolating sort, content with a life of quiet and steady work away from the gaze and oversight of others, psychological reports have come to the consensus that he drove to become the head of his department was specifically so fewer people would bother him. Despite such a degree of almost sociopathic silence and dislike for company, the man holds a place in his heart for the common people, something expected of a man who works tirelessly with the deadliest viruses known to man to hopefully develop treatments for them.

Biography: Dr. Freeman is a native of the Pacific Northwest, being born in Seattle, he would move several times between Washington, Oregon, and Idaho in his youth, before his family finally settled in Pennsylvania when he was 9. The entirety of his early life was spent in a concerning amount of focus on his academics, having very few friends, and even fewer interactions with his own parents. Whatever free time he had was typically spent on computers or in the library reading about whatever subject had piqued his interest that day.

By the time he was 16, he had graduated highschool and was enrolled for a dual course on epidemiology and virology, gaining both a Bachelor's and Masters in both, he focused on the subsect of virology for his Microbiology PhD. His thesis, which he submitted in 2009, focused on giant viruses and virophages potentially being used for cancer treatments. While offered a job at several pharmaceutical companies, including Atlas Biomedical, Dr. Freeman settled on a rather quiet position as a CDC researcher.

His position lead to a multitude of slowly realized, yet effective treatments for bioweapons the US estimated to be in use, alongside aiding in the development of mRNA vaccines and experimental cancer treatments. As he always had, when the Chicago Event arose, he buckled down and set to work... but his work came to him. A rather brutal escape later, with the aid of a team of US Marshals, Dr. Freeman is now in Chicago, hoping to find some way to either finish what he started, or a way to get somewhere he can.

I have some world-related questions, if that's ok.
Many apologies if you've already explained any of this, btw
I look forward to joining in once I make an app! Assuming you'll have me, anyway.
On to the questions!

Are reavers just powerful mutants or are they something else?

Can any Psychotics pass as human? If so, would they try and join a group of survivors? With the goal of eating them once they gain their trust, that is, presumably via a trap.

Are any infected not aggressive towards humans? I imagine there wouldn't be a lot, as they'd probably be eaten by other infected, starve, or get shot by humans, but it'd make for some interesting moments.

Would the average infected (human and otherwise), given the choice, choose a human or a comparatively larger pile of meat? Is infection or feeding their main goal?

Do the infected require food, or do they just eat because they feel a need to? Is starving them out a viable option, assuming they don't know where you are? If yes, why hasn't it been done before?

Can the virus infect plant life? If so, would it be more along the lines of "gross, malformed petals" or "aaagh, that tree tried to eat me"?

Is the virus present in the water, to any extent? Will we have to worry about mutant zombie-sharks?

Are reavers just powerful mutants or are they something else?
They're mutants. Think L4D and the many Special Infected.

Can any Psychotics pass as human? If so, would they try and join a group of survivors? With the goal of eating them once they gain their trust, that is, presumably via a trap.
They will usually look sickly, but even if they could pass for a survivor their behavior is too erratic to really see any long-term plans through that don't require immediate violence. While they could possibly be reasoned with to some degree they are mentally unhinged and volatile.

Are any infected not aggressive towards humans? I imagine there wouldn't be a lot, as they'd probably be eaten by other infected, starve, or get shot by humans, but it'd make for some interesting moments.
While some may have moments of clarity the Infected are always hostile.

Would the average infected (human and otherwise), given the choice, choose a human or a comparatively larger pile of meat? Is infection or feeding their main goal?
If there is a choice the Infected will attack the survivor. They are aggressive and will prioritize killing the human. That said, if you left a pile of meat on the ground they would probably eat it until disturbed, so could be useful in keeping them preoccupied if one is careful.

Do the infected require food, or do they just eat because they feel a need to? Is starving them out a viable option, assuming they don't know where you are? If yes, why hasn't it been done before?
The Infected are living beings, not undead zombies, so yes they do require food, water, etc. and them eating is for survival. Unlike undead zombies that must decompose, Infected will likely die off somewhat quickly, however, it's only been three weeks and with many more survivors succumbing to infection their numbers will be reasonably high for the foreseeable future. Yes, you could just wait in your apartment, but that isn't fun from a story perspective.

Can the virus infect plant life? If so, would it be more along the lines of "gross, malformed petals" or "aaagh, that tree tried to eat me"?
The virus has not been shown to affect flora.

Is the virus present in the water, to any extent? Will we have to worry about mutant zombie-sharks?
The virus dies quickly when not inside a suitable host, so while it may last a tiny bit longer in water than on a dry surface it will still decay rather quickly. That said, if an Infected fell into the ocean and was eaten by a shark it could become infected, but that is unlikely to be an issue as there are no scientifically recognized sightings of Bull Sharks in Lake Michigan.
