Hello Agent.

The situation across the United States has become dire, Smallpox Variola Chimera has ravaged the population and left the country in a state of near collapse. Until now you have waited, hidden in plain sight and done what you could for those around you, but the time has come and your country needs you now. You are a trained operative in the Strategic Homeland Division and your goal is simple: ensure the continuity of the government of the United States by any means necessary. Pursuant to this goal you have been dispatched to the city of New Orleans, the largest city in Louisiana and a crucial stepping stone to restoring order in the South. Her sea ports, air ports, and infrastructure will prove vital in the long days ahead. Unfortunately, New Orleans fell to the Green Poison quickly and disastrously. Her streets are a warzone and the few allies the SHD has in the city have been pushed back to Several Points across the city, the last bastions of civilization in a metropolis gone mad.

Until now you were one of them: their neighbor, their coworker, their friend, but now you need to become something more. As of this moment you rejoin the ranks of the last best hope for your fellow Americans. Get your go-bag, say goodbye to your loved ones, and move out, Agent.

Extremis Malis Extrema Remedia

Good luck

Welcome to The Big Easy, Agents, better known as New Orleans - the Crescent City. The situation on the ground is dire. As of 5March2016, only 4 Agents from the First Wave remain, all others are Missing In Action or confirmed Killed In Action. Our Second Wave was engaged enroute and was completely destroyed. You are our Third Wave, our final hope for reclaiming our city. You each managed to obtain the call for help and have answered it. It has been 4 weeks since this distress call began to broadcast, and it has remained on repeat since. You each chose to do this, had plenty of time not to, but still came regardless. If you're going to help though, you're going to meet up with our remaining forces on the ground at their Mobile HQ, The Creole Queen, A River Boat that travels up and down the Mississippi River. Now, as for the situation in the Bayous, it's just as bad as we said. The JTF is at the breaking point, They have managed to hold despite JTF members leaving, diseases, weather, and even a lack of food. The Rouge JTF Elements are not the only enemies you have to worry about. Between the looters, the gangs, organized crime elements, and the Hunters, you're going to have your hands full. The Hunters were last confirmed to be in New York City, but with new intel on how First Wave Agents in the city and bayou were killed, we suspect the Hunters have arrived. As it's Louisiana, the wildfires and earthquakes are still a danger, never mind the flora and fauna set loose about the city, and the wilds surrounding the city.(edited)

Welcome to the Division: Hollywood. It's 7April2016, and You will be Roleplaying as Division Agent called into to Assist the Last remaining Division Cell in LA. Your Agent has arrived at the Creole Queen, which is a Riverboat that is currently berthed at USCG Base New Orleans & a NASA Production Facility on the same grounds.

You can have up to 1 Division Agents and 3 secondary characters, or you can just run 1 agent. The choice is yours.

Bio: Joseph was born to Native American Parents of two different tribes in Dallas-Ft Worth Metroplex, In a town called Haslett He attended school in Haslett before attending Highschool at Northwest High School. He was a very good fullback in football, and helped lead Northwest to the State Semifinals three years back to back but ultimately failed, During he had decided he didn't want to go to school after his senior year despite football scholarships from TCU, Texas, and others. He started looking around at different jobs he could do right out of high school. What interested him the most was the USAF particularly the jobs of CCT and what at the Time was SOWT (Special Operations Weather Team). He decided to go Combat Control after doing research on the two jobs. While His parents Didn’t approve of him Joining the USAF they decided to let him join and live his life.

Not long after he graduated high school, Joseph was sent off to Lackland AFB, where he would start his 3 year long training session, 2 years in a variety of Air Force Technical Schools, and 1 year OJT. After completing the 2 years of technical training, He was assigned first to the 321st Special Tactics Squadron (STS), where he did his 1 year of On the Job Training (OJT). He served a 1 year deployment in Iraq before coming back and being transferred to the 23rd STS. Every few years he would transfer to a Unit or be attached to a Army Spec Ops unit. He would go on to serve missions in Iraq, Afghanistan, and around the world, even spent time in the 24th STS and Delta Force. During his time in Joseph would meet a USAF Security Forces Staff Sgt Meagan Osbour, who'd he go one to marry and have a couple kids with her. At the Ten Year mark He left the USAF, and moved to New Orleans when his wife transitioned to the Louisiana Air National Guard. He joined the NOFD as a Volunteer Firefighter and bounced around from factory job to factory job for a year, but after being laid off for a 6th time in a year he decided to try to go full time firefighter. He was enrolled at the NOFD Academy and passed with flying colors.. After about a year at LAFD, He was recruited into the Division, but he was involved in a Motorcycle accident when a someone who was texting while driving drunk ran a stop light and hit him on the right side of the bike. He lost his leg below the right knee. After a year and half of recovery and rehab time Jax eventually bounced back and returned to being a line firefighter for NOFD and back to riding motorcycles.

Jax would go on to help his cell lead find new members for the cell before he was eventually given the go ahead to build his own cell, which he recruited 3 members to.

When the dollar flu hit New Orleans, things didn’t take long to go to hell in a handbasket. NOFD was rolled up into the JTF, but unfortunately it was too late by the time the JTF was put together, and by the time Joseph’s cell was activated, it was already to late. Despite their best efforts, the other first wave NOLA cells, and the JTFs things went far worse then what they did in New York City.

They were sent into the Projects at Algiers, but were soon pulled out as this area became a dark zone and a warzone. Half of the first wave was lost in this event alone. It snowballed from there, They would be sent into Central City, St Roch, and 7th Ward with the same effects, there are reports of other dark zones in the Greater NOLA area. As the first wave was all but wiped out, a second wave was activated but they were all hunted down and killed before they could make the rally point, but with its last 4 Agents, the JTF managed to hold but has been scattered around the NOLA area

By this time Joseph 's Cell were the last Division cell active in LA. They retreated to The Creole Queen and evac'd to the USCG Base New Orleans. The Creole Queen was sat up as the Division HQ, and housing. They soon found themselves being hunted and the Rangers slowly stopped patrolling with the Joseph and the others as the JTF forces believed they would likely die. So a third call was sent by the New Orleans’s last Cell for help. Now Joseph waits with his team for the Third wave to arrive.

Before the Agent was killed, she told Charles where to find her work and he has put it into small-scale production for personal use. The gel comes in thin vials that can be applied directly to wounds. When applied, it forms a semi-malleable protective layer that is anti-bacterial and anti-viral as well as having a mild analgesic property.

Roughly a foot long by six inches wide and moving on six insect-like legs, the front has a camera and sample collecting equipment. The SRSCD can collapse down into a tube-like shape for transport with its control set.
Bio:
A poor kid from a poor neighborhood, Charles was raised by his mother in a poor part of LA. From a young age it was apparent that he was "gifted" and his mother, a maid at the Hotel Bel-Air, dedicated herself to giving young Charles the best shot she could. Childhood for Charles was normal, in a relative sense: he did well in school, was a pitcher for GHS' baseball team, and his graduating classes valedictorian. His single greatest accomplishment though was being awarded a full-ride scholarship to arguably the United States single best research university, CalTech. Partly an athletics scholarship that would last through his undergraduate years and partly a research scholarship for any graduate work, the school saw the immense potential in young Charles.

Charles remained dedicated to his chosen science, biology, when he entered CalTech, choosing to major in microbiology specializing in immunology, choosing to enter his Doctoral candidacy application in that field in 2011. His research would lead him down a rabbit hole, however. Though the virus he based his research on presented little danger to healthy adults, a part of the dissertation's background research involved looking into CERA and its response protocols to an infectious outbreak. Though the section was small and only intended to provide context to a pair of data sets, what Charles found troubled him greatly and took up much of his spare time outside of research. He and his research assistant, a Microbiology undergrad named Felicia, compiled their findings on CERA's planning failures into a short report and presented it to CalTech's Microbiology Department head, Dr. Winston DuBois. DuBois found the report as interesting and worrying as the pair did, passing it to both CERA and his handlers at the Strategic Homeland Division. The Division paid special attention to his conclusions, which included a wide array of solutions and fixes, and began the process of recruiting Charles into the SHD as an agent specializing in Pandemic Responses in late 2009. For two years he worked in secret on how best to avoid a complete breakdown of the LA area's government and response structure in the event of a Pandemic, though none of it was in place when the Green Poison hit. Today, he is working with Felicia to develop a functioning vaccine for the Green Poison in addition to his other duties as an activated SHD Agent.

He's also pretty annoyed he never got to defend his dissertation and get his Doctorate.

Name: Felicia Bryant
Appearance:
Image

Short Bio:
Short Bio: Felicia is a third-generation CalTech attendee and during her short tenure she has worked on a project whose leads went on to win the Massry Prize, worked as an associate research fellow on what would have been a revolutionary new PCR process, and worked directly under Charles when she requested a position that would afford her more practical time in the lab. Little did she know that the job would land her neck-deep in the race to find a vaccine for Smallpox Variola Chimera. Initially, the work was easy, RSV and the work the pair were doing regarding it was seen as straightforward compared to the more theoretical work she had been doing in the past (much to the chagrin of her family), but she found a kind of relaxed comfort in the routine nature of the research. It wouldn't be until the pair stumbled on CERA's pandemic response protocols and their woeful inadequacies that things would begin to change.

She and Charles had always been close, sleepless nights spent doing mind-numbing lab work has the habit of bonding two people pretty tightly, but after the report was submitted to Doctor DuBois, Charles started to take her on runs, to the gym, insisted on teaching her how to survive in the wilderness, and even taught her to shoot. It would have been downright alarming if Charles hadn't always been a little odd, but when everything went to hell, it finally made sense. When the Green Poison first hit, she was one of the first affected in LA. The sickness almost killed her, if it wasn't for Charles carrying her to the lab and keeping her safe there while LA fell apart around them, she probably would have died, instead, she was one of the lucky 10% to make it through. She didn't ask questions when Charles began to bring in weapons and equipment, where did he get them? Didn't matter. Why did he have military body armor? She was puking her guts out, she didn't have time to think about that. Where was the medicine coming from? Her fever was almost killing her, she wasn't thinking about that.

When she finally began to get better and Charles moved her to a new safe house, he reintroduced her to his friends and told her the truth. They weren't drinking buddies, they were so much more, and they needed her help.

Vaguely a pessimist, certainly an absurdist, unironically an antinatalist.

When applied, it forms a semi-malleable protective layer that is anti-bacterial and anti-viral as well as having a mild analgesic property.
  • SRSCD: The Small Remote Sample Collecting Device is a drone originally developed for use in laboratory emergencies as an alternative to sending in a human to find and identify the source of a HAZMAT situation.

Appearance:

Bio:

Francis Winchester was born in Boulder, Colorado to Michael Winchester and Jessica Martin Winchester, a U.S Army officer and nurse respectively. Francis grew up in a relatively relaxed household which gave him a good deal of personal freedom as a child. He was taught to shoot at an early age by his father, who believed that it was an essential skill for the young Francis to have. Francis’ relationship with his parents was fairly normal. As a teenager he and his father butted heads on several occasions, but overall their relationship was healthy.

After graduating from high school, Francis immediately joined the army. While he had the proper grades to go to college, the relatively low-paying jobs of his parents meant that he didn’t have the money. Which is why Francis joined the army, planning to use his post-service benefits to pay for college. The adjustment to regimented army life was a stark contrast to what Francis’ life had been leading up to that point. However the young man adapted quickly. In Basic Training, Francis excelled in marksmanship, scoring 39 out of 40 hits on his rifle qualification. However it would be a year after this that Francis would begin to take steps to maximize his potential as a rifleman.

Upon reaching the rank of E-3, Francis applied for Sniper school, and was accepted due to his good record and expert marksmanship performance. Sniper school was a challenging experience for Francis, as for many other potential snipers. However Francis passed with flying colors, far exceeding his classmates in marksmanship. After he graduated from Sniper School, he was sent to Chad as part of the mission to evacuate U.S citizens from the Central African Republic. It was here that he scored his first kill as a sniper, shooting a Rebel leader from 800 yards away. After that he was sent to Afghanistan, where he would go on to score another 20 confirmed kills against Al-Qaeda and Taliban insurgents. He would also see action in Syria and Iraq for a combined total of 35 kills.

He left the service in 2010, and used the Army’s benefits to pay for his education at a technical college to become a paramedic. Francis thought that he would put his killing days behind him and move on to saving lives. However it was in 2012 when the SHD came knocking. They recruited him to be an Agent, putting him through their rigorous training course which was not all too unfamiliar to Francis. He was then put in St. Louis to await the Call for Help, and has been there since 2014.

Francis met his wife Dianna Smith in 2010 as Francis was leaving the military. The two would marry in 2013, and they have two children. All have thus far survived the Dollar Flu pandemic.

After leaving the Army in 2008, Francis attended the University of Missouri and graduated with a bachelors in Civil Engineering. He specialized in the construction and maintenance of infrastructure, overseeing the construction and maintenance of roads and other vital infrastructure components. Cover Preactivation:

Airforce Pararescue Reservist, studying veterinary medicine at Louisiana State University.

Job History:

    Ledoux's Meat & Dairy - (2002 - 2004)
    • Abattoir Assistant (2002 - 2003)
    • Abattoir Operator (2003 - 2004)

    • United States Air Force Pararescue; Air Force Reserve Command, 920th Rescue Wing, 308th Rescue Squadron - Technical Sergeant (2014 - )

Personality:

Ledoux expresses a temperament symbolic of Pararescue operators, being a thoroughly intuitive individual who is acclimatised to working in small groups with limited prospect of support. She wastes little and grows tight with those who they work with. Ledoux demonstrating a clear loyalty to her comrades within intimate team environments. During active scenarios, she’s professional and locked on, demonstrating excellent flexibility within the field, being regarded as an excellent medic who can withstand well within high-stress situations.

However, the effects of being deployed as a first wave agent have taken a severe toll on Danieles mental health, with her struggling to combat the relentless day-to-day stress. Her attempts at internalising and compartmentalising her thoughts to dull her emotional response have been effective to a degree, but it has, however, been failing to consistently work. Her breakdown over the recent months has resulted in unstable behaviour. She has had several outbursts in the past which have been intensely self destructive, often resulting in brief spells of rage and depression as emotional trauma comes flooding in at once. Notable factors in an attempt to cope have been chain smoking, and more importantly, her addiction to prescription pain medication.

Her opinions on SHU have additionally changed for the worst. Her experiences have driven her to have a much more fatalistic approach to her job, with Dainele believing that the overall SHU mission has failed. While she cares about civilians to a degree, Daniele has been noted to have become progressively ruthless in her methods towards those deemed as threat by her and her allies, often defaulting to violent action.

Likes:

Ledoux has a soft spot for animals, particularly that of cattle, dogs and birds. Prides herself on being an amatuer bird watcher.

Ledoux is a fan of sports, notibly baseball and soccer. While she doesn't support any American soccer teams, she is a keen supporter of european league, notibly french teams.

Enjoys hand rolled cigarettes, considers it to be a sutible "art" to getting them right.

Dislikes:

Strongly dislikes American football, considers it a lesser sport than most.

Ledoux has a strong dislike for those who do not function well within team environments.

Strengths:

Pararescue Jumper: Ledoux has served as a para-rescue jumper for most of her adult life. As a result, she is a highly qualified field medic who is qualified in battlefield medicine and combat search and rescue roles, having additionally spent over a year attached to special forces units in Cameroon, Afghanistan and Iraq. She is highly capable of working within small teams and with little outside support.

Native: Ledoux growing up within the region, she is well versed with area and knows her way around.

Weaknesses:

Strict: Ledoux has a low tolerance for undue slack and dangerous behaviour in the field, her experiences as a first wave agent in New Orleans has molded this view point deeply. Direct at first, she can become more hostile about it if it keeps occurring, something made worse if the persons personality is abrasive.

Disillusioned: Ledoux has become severely disillusioned with SHD throughout her activation as a division agent. During her time in New Orleans within the first wave, she lost most of her family, friends, and fellow agents. The events of the efforts to regain control leaving her heavily traumatised. She has since adopted a rather nililistic viewpoint on the overall state of the world, and the mission goals of the SHD. She trusts very little in what anyone has to say, and she can be easily swayed into turning rogue under the right conditions.

Bio:

Born in 1986 in Sugartown, Louisiana. Ledoux grew up among two siblings in a working-class family primarily involved within the dairy and livestock business, running a small-sized family-owned pasture and abattoir. Her youth was chiefly concentrated in rural areas within a tight community, with Sugartown possessing a population of fewer than sixty. Her father died when she was six because of a workplace accident, leaving to be raised primarily by her mother.

She assisted within the family business from an early age because of her mother having to take over day-to-day operation. With her performing a lot of manual labour throughout her early teenage years, spending an extensive amount of time amongst animals, notably cattle, and the processes involved in their care, welfare, and eventual slaughter, with Daniele Ledoux being officially employed at sixteen as an abattoir assistant. Her mother rarely recognised her achievements and instead kept a focus on the business, hoping to push Daniele towards continuing to work within that environment, something that only fostered a highly competitive nature with a streak of aggression as she sought validation.

Her schooling turned out to be academically average, attending DeRidder Junior High School. She maintained a grade set that was nothing particularly impressive, passing through high school with a standard GED. Daniele did shine within the field of athletics, but not enough to earn a college scholarship. She did well notably within track and soccer, with Daniele making the teams soccer captain within her school’s youth team at the tail end of her high school education.

She graduated from school in 2004 with no real serious prospects, initially continued to working within her household business but felt an absence of personal gratification. Daniele briefly considered college, hoping to study veterinary medicine, but a lack of funds led to her electing to enter the air force after a trade fair, enlisting soon after.

Selected para-rescue following the conclusion of MEPS and ASVAB, starting the basic military training in late 2004 after accomplishing the pass test. Ledoux found the training to be challenging but fulfilling, sticking out the two-year cycle, with her obtaining her maroon beret in 2006 after completion of the apprentice course, beginning the year continuation training, shadowed constantly by their instructor during their progression tour.

Assigned to 347th Rescue Group’s 38th Rescue Squadron in 2007, stationed out of Moody AFB in Georgia. Worked with them for three years within a search and rescue group. With Dani primarily doing training and paperwork during her time, this being occasionally broken up with the occasional humanitarian and domestic rescue deployment, glimpsing a deployment to Haiti during the 2010 earthquake.

Reenlisted in late 2010, received additional training and refreshers before being transferred to the 321st Special Tactics Squadron based at RAF Mildenhall. Saw multiple short deployments in Cameroon, Iraq, and Afghanistan as an attache to special forces units, seeing combat on several occasions primarily in Iraq and Afghanistan. This drew the attention of division recruiters towards the end of her service. When given the option to continue to protect her country from a possible collapse, Daniele jumped at the offer. Undertaking division training alongside several other pararescue and air force special operations personnel.

Ledoux returned home in 2014, heading back to Sugartown. Daniele went into the reserves before attending university to study veterinary medicine in New Orleans as part of their division cover plan. Beginning their studies with their possible activation being in the background as they hoped to return home with a valued skillset and help their farming community.

Shortly after the 2015 black Friday attack, Daniele saw activation in New Orleans, being one of the first wave agents with cell to attempt to maintain order within the city. This however proved to be a demoralising experience, with Ledoux losing most of loved ones and cell over the six months of attempting to wrestle control of the city against opportunistic gangs and rogue police units.

Bio: Jericho Yeager lived a relatively unmentionable life throughout his early years, only growing interested in telecommunications work in his late high school years and later throwing himself at the work wholly for his college bachelor's degree. His skills and talents were noticed when he applied to work under the Department of Defense as a contractor at overseas military and government installations. He served overseas with other defense contractors for roughly 8 years from 2002-2011, taking only a few-month break 4 years in. When he returned home, he was recruited into the SHD and given his new cover as the owner of a small telecommunications contractor operating in rural Oklahoma.

When the Dollar Flu hit, he was visiting his in-laws, having been married in 2014 to his high-school sweetheart. He isolated and kept at range from the infection zones while awaiting the call, one day receiving his orders and informing his family that he had to leave for work. While his wife was aware he worked extensively for the government, his in-laws were furious and threatened legal actions if he left. A happy couple-hundred miles away, he was last spotted crossing the Texas border on his way to New Orleans.

Crescent City, alluding to the course of the Lower Mississippi River around and through the city.[26]The Big Easy, possibly a reference by musicians in the early 20th century to the relative ease of finding work there.[27][28]The City that Care Forgot, used since at least 1938,[29] referring to the outwardly easygoing, carefree nature of the residents.[28]

He would spend his summers with his brothers and parents camping as a kid and later would make money off of volunteering as a Fire Watch in his summers as a teenager. When fire watches started getting automated, he began a spree of jobs, working in various kitchens and bars until he became an attendant at a greenhouse. Unsure of what he wanted to do with his life, the greenhouse inspired him to look into environmental sustainability. While working at the greenhouse, he would go to school for sustainable agriculture and environmental protection.

One year while camping, he’d notice his local park had an opening available. Hudson applied almost instantly after coming back from his trip. With plenty of character references and experience in the woods, and an education in environmental protection, Hudson was quickly eligible for the Warden course.

Hudson was a good candidate for the SHD, with over a decade background in survival and public security, plus the seclusion of his work, he could easily slip away from society to do the Division’s extra curricular training. Hudson would be a first wave Tallahassee agent, due to the limited numbers and resources of the Florida National Guard, the infection would not be too difficult to manage, but rather the supply chain issues, containment of law and order and the poor timing of natural weather phenomenon.
