The Great Officers of the Realm are the most influential non-royal officials in the state, with the Lord High Chancellor- although not the highest-ranking Great Officer- acting as a de facto head of government.

The Lord High Steward acts as the head of the high courts, and administers the judiciary in the name of the Crown. The Lord High Constable has been reestablished as the head of domestic security, and as such commands the local militias and police forces. The Lord High Admiral has also been reestablished for his son, Gustav, Prince of Vasa, and he commands the Swedish Navy as well as the Admiralty. The Lord High Chancellor is Fredrik Sparre, who, as well as being the King's highest advisor and government official, heads the Treasury in the place of the Lord High Treasurer.

The Privy Council is the King's primary advisory body, made up of 19 councillors in different areas of expertise- finance, military, diplomacy, and so on. There can be as many councillors as the King wishes. They usually are led by the Lord High Chancellor, who chairs most of the meetings when the King cannot. They are similar to a cabinet in other countries.

Sweden being a formidable military force, the Army is professionally trained and armed with the Musket Model 1777, a French musket. The Army is made up of 88,000 line infantry soldiers, 9,000 dragoons, 5,000 cavalry troops, 7,000 light infantry soldiers and 3,000 artillerymen.

The Royal Swedish Navy has 4,000 sailors. Their doctrine is one of Dominum Maris Baltici- Baltic Sea Dominion. Their ships are based in Oslo, Malmö, Stockholm and Helsingfors (Helsinki). They have 24 frigates, 18 brigs, 15 schooners, 5 ships of the line, 3 seventy-fours and a flagship.
History: Sweden gained less territory in the Peace of Westphalia than OTL. Instead, the rulers of Sweden had to accept a few million Riksdaler as compensation, Rügen and Usedom. It was up to the rulers of Sweden to expand their borders without other great powers interfering- and no Swedish monarch did so more aggressively and successfully than Charles XII.

Instead of going on a Great Northern War against the Rus, Charles instead, for the first few years of his reign, modernised and improved his military, bringing in military strategists like Carl Gustav Rehnskiöld and Magnus Stenbock.

He then planned a great invasion of Denmark-Norway, an invasion which he wanted to be his legacy. In January 1700 he launched 40,000 soldiers, 25,000 of them part of the Carolean Army, and seized Trondheim within 3 months. The scattered and undersupplied Norwegian troops looked across the Baltic for Danish support, but the Swedish Navy had effectively blockaded Copenhagen by placing their fleet at Malmö- only miles away from the Danish capital. Charles personally led 12,000 of his men, with hundreds of artillery pieces and thousands of cavalry, into November 1700 (O.S). Denmark-Norway had just lost Norway.

Just weeks after the capitulation of Oslo, dozens of Swedish warships- the entirety of their Baltic Fleet- bombarded Copenhagen before launching an amphibious invasion of northern Jutland and Zealand. The Danish mustered together around 15,000 soldiers and, through the blizzard and deadly cold, marched to Copenhagen, where they dug in as 25,000 Swedish soldiers surrounded them. The cold killed as many soldiers as the siege did. Finally, in early February of 1701, as the mist was settling in on an early morning, Swedish artillery tore apart the defensive lines of Copenhagen. The cavalry then rushed in through the gaps, followed by light infantry, as the Danes were just waking up. Within hours Copenhagen had fallen. The last remnants of Danish resistance fell in Schleswig 2 weeks after the Fall of Copenhagen.

Charles did not wait- he sent a fleet to Iceland, which surrendered at the same time as Schleswig. His expedition to Greenland, however, failed to take the entire island- the cold killed many before they had taken it. They did, however, make a colony in the south of Greenland.

Charles XII died peacefully in 1735, after transforming the Swedish Kingdom into an Empire, stretching from Finland to Greenland, Schleswig to Kiruna. His legacy would be his expansion of the Empire, and turning the country into a great power.

That duty, falls to the Junkers, or the nobility, powerful landowning aristocrats.

Military (Numbers, equipment, etc): The Prussian Army is the backbone of the Kingdom. Commonly phrased as an "Army with a country," all aspects of Prussian society was geared to supporting the Army. Rich or poor, Noble or Lowborn, all people served the Army one way or another.

Numbering at 200,000 soldiers, the Army is a force to be reckoned with. Starting from the small army formed as Brandenburg, the Prussian Army has proven time and time again that it is a capable force ready for any way. The most disciplined army in Europe, the army is Prussia's pride and glory.

However, despite its claimed discipline and quality, the Army is only as good as the ones that leads it. Fueled by arrogance and pride of the old days, the Army has failed to innovate and keep up with the times, thanks in large part to the late Frederick William II. In time, hopefully the new king will be able to rectify these issues before a disaster occurs.

The Navy, on the other hand, is practically non existent. The Navy is nothing more than a merchant fleet. In the eyes of the Prussians, the power of other nearby naval powers like Great Britain and Sweden, make the creation of a powerful Navy not worth the cost and resources. Prussia shall always be a powerhouse on land.

However, despite its claimed discipline and quality, the Army is only as good as the ones that leads it. Fueled by arrogance and pride of the old days, the Army has failed to innovate and keep up with the times, thanks in large part to the late Frederick William II. In time, hopefully the new king will be able to rectify these issues before a disaster occurs.

The Navy, on the other hand, is practically non existent. The Navy is nothing more than a merchant fleet. In the eyes of the Prussians, the power of other nearby naval powers like Great Britain and Sweden, make the creation of a powerful Navy not worth the cost and resources. Prussia shall always be a powerhouse on land.
