"During Burke's presidency our party was viewed as the party Americans trusted to keep them safe from terrorism. And yet it seems we've been moving further and further from our position of upholding global security and combating terrorism. This pseudo-isolationism is telling our enemies that America will cut and run at the first sign of conflict. We did talk about China as well, thankfully me and him seem to agree we need serious action on that front."

"Oh good. I really want to see a big naval push. We can't let the Chinese overtake us on that front. It's unacceptable," Jonah swivelled in his chair a little as he kept speaking with Earl, "The polls in Wisconsin look relatively close, I'd say that favors us, but then, there could be a new round of polling. Are you anxious? Are there bad internals you're seeing?"

“Maybe some on the left will think that I don’t meet their expectations and standards, they could opt to stay home, suggest the same to their friends. And of course there’s the whole ‘Black woman running for statewide office in a predominantly white, Midwestern state’ aspect that could piss off the wrong kind of voter. And of course, while I have experience holding statewide office and running for statewide office, the office I hold isn’t as visible as others, and it certainly has its own skeletons and imperfections that could hurt my chances, especially if a headline grabbing case or issue arose within the month. When my office screws up, or when I screw up, those impacts are more directly tied to me. If a Member of Congress doesn’t vote the ‘right’ way, they have more room to distance themselves from the consequences or anger, they can bring in pork for their district to help voters ‘overlook’ their less desirable votes, more leg room. So, while I have potential and experience running for statewide office, I am also liable to collateral damage, I’m certainly not invulnerable or omniscient.”

Do you have a partner back home in La Crosse?"

"Yes, I do. My wife's doing well, last time I heard, and so are most of the kids. I've actually got another grandchild on the way, they're set to be born in May. Life's very busy though, and so sometimes you feel like you need to take a break, but obviously in our field you really can't, especially not in my position. Oh well, we've been used to it for so long, I suppose it's the fact that we feel like we're both doing good for the world that connects us together."

"I have to say, becoming a Grandma was much easier than becoming a Mom. Benjamin can't get enough of the grandkids either whenever they're around. Are you and your wife close... or is it just the campaign trail keeping you two apart?" She finished the first part of the sentence bluntly, pausing for a couple of seconds before quickly piping up again to practically ask a different question.

"With the storm happening this weekend we'll see what's happening in the press, but I'll definitely call the press in if we can work something out to show our achievements and why the country needs a Democratic Senate. "Don't go hard on our achievements until we've got the storm business out of the way. We want to affirm that Democrats won't ignore the issue and will take action. We need to champion an aid response from Congress. Lead by example. And as for the former Speaker? I think she's fond of Cypriot wines, though they may be a bit hard to get. Something good from California'll probably do, she's always been a champion of the bigger states getting their fair shake. Red over white. I think." He says that not entirely sure.

“We’re still doing our own opposition research, but from what little we’ve seen so far, Duncan could be a gift - or a curse, depending on who we nominate. For me, Duncan is so Wolfist that suburban voters would either vote for me or stay at home, depending on their political leanings and our own outreach efforts. Congresswoman Kurian is a the Republican dark horse, I doubt she’ll secure the nomination, but if she does, she’s in the same boat as Duncan, she’ll have trouble getting support from suburban voters. Mayor Gundersen is the candidate I’m more wary of. He’s definitely more in the Richardson camp, but because of his mayoral tenure, the same rule that applies to me applies to him: whenever shit hits the fan, it’s always going to be his fault, or seen to be his fault.”

"I'm Serah Kurian, I've been a state legislator for 10 years and representative for Wisconsin's 8th for 8. Before that, I worked as an engineer and joined the air force reserves. I know how to approach problems with the experience and discipline to address them. If our state and our country are to overcome our current crisis, Republicans must win this special election. So we can't pick a candidate that's best known for running an expensive losing congressional campaign, nor a candidate that supports rasing taxes on businesses for increasing their productivity and has a vested interest in restricting access to good paying manufacturing jobs in this state. Respectively, that's not winning and that's not Republican.

Our success requires increasing the stake business and workers have in each other's success, while encouraging their self improvement. That's why I support bipartisan efforts to encourage businesses to adopt employee stock ownership plans, known as ESOPs, to give workers a direct stake in the success of their employers. I also support bipartisan efforts to facilitate student loan providers having a stake in the success of students, whether going to university, trade school, or otherwise, through, Income Share Agreements, known as ISAs.

Lastly, I am supportive of federal legislation to strictly regulate non-compete clauses, to ensure workers are free to switch employers in pursuit of better pay and conditions."

"Good evening Wisconsin! My name is Dan Gundersen, and the first thing I want to say is how much I love this state. When I was a kid, my family would all climb into our old station wagon and drive across the state to Green Bay Packers games, and there was nothing like the camaraderie experienced at the games and the friendly faces in all the small towns along the way. Being on this campaign has reminded me of those trips a bit...there's nothing like seeing every unique corner of this state and taking in the Wisconsinite experience in full."

"Humility is one of my values, and frankly, it sometimes doesn't feel all that humble listing off my resume. God blessed me with the opportunity to serve our country in the Naval Supply Corps for 20 years, then I came back home to Wisconsin and built Dairy Dan's, which is one of this state's most iconic restaurants. Then I got to seeing what was happening to our state, and took action by running for Mayor of Waukesha. Together, we made Waukesha safer, more economically prosperous, and improved our transportation. While other candidates can talk the talk for conservatism, I've made real conservative change in my community and in our state."

"I'm running for Senator because the Senate needs an infusion of real Wisconsin values in order to 'Unleash America's Greatness.' We face two great enemies in our America today: China, and left-wing destruction of our institutions. That's why as your Senator, you can count on me to support banning toxic, divisive Critical Race Theory from our schools, colleges, and military, and to use every economic means possible to end China's communist takeover of the global economy, ensuring that we bring strong manufacturing jobs back to our state."

"My advisors have been mentioning that I should focus on CRT too, they're saying it will become an issue in the general so I should start addressing it now."

"I'm going to be pushing for significant federal money for West Virginia, I know that much. There's some proposals that I really want to get money for us into. I'll be talking about that with the President, I imagine. As for the rest? I need to get people to work. Most of our issues can be solved by that. Keeping our industries open and the like. Pushing new developments. It'll be expensive. I may have to run-up statewide debt. But that'll be my successor's problem, I guess."

“Yeah, it seems we’ve finally found an issue that breaks into the suburbs.” Earl chuckled. “Well, unfortunately that does seem to be all the time I have. Congressional duties call y’know?” The Congressman extended his hand. “Best of luck to you on the campaign trail.”

“Thank you for meeting with me again Congressman. Keep me updated on what you find out from Governor Prendergast. I think with his financial support and a good debate showing I can take this primary pretty easily. I’ll keep in touch.”
