I think Warcyfle has been my best run honestly. I went from death cultist that ran from Bloodright to being an maritime empire among the world powers of the Ancient World. Next time I'm playing as an underground civ with the power of a god king.

Never played one before. I've done necromancers, Polynesian/Hawaiian storm people. Why not Dagoth Ur?

Nope, the Divine Contract with the Storm Father allows the emperor to be a human representative of Tes'la's will. Giving him a divine right to rule.

I think this is my most successful run as well but I think the Elves tie in since I wasn't trying to be a powerful empire but just roleplaying trying to have them achieve godhood and create their own deity.

That’s fair, but at the same time I don’t think it’ll bring enough new mechanics to keep people engaged, and restarts are very good at bringing in new blood (as well as bringing back old folks who dropped out for one reason or another).

True. It’s also partially a result of having a bunch of formerly-PC empires all over the map now. I think a reset would be a lot of fun, but we have plenty of time

Curious what people think about restarting after this era versus proceeding to the next one, whatever form that would take. I imagine this one will go another 20-30 turns anyway, but good to hear what people are thinking.

Corvus has been fun, but I imagine that my next batch of fellows will be much more chill.

I'd like to hit the end of this era (probably around T50?) and then reset back to cavemen. Not super interested in the status quo, but with guns and steel. Unless we did something absolutely crazy like have the continent overrun by Deepkin-created monsters and the survivors flee to a new continent or something.

Just to clarify for folks - settlements who have had their Palace Districts destroyed are effectively out of control of the central government, with no meaningful activity taking place aside from the low level matters of her populace. Essentially all output of such settlements will be wasted or retained by her populace instead of gained via taxation, so you shouldn't be doing construction or gaining resources from these settlements.
