Well, it's a bit all over the place, but it could be summed up with a longer WW1(central powers dont surrender after 100 Day Offensive), German and Austrian civil wars that end with german republicans coming out on top and AH disintegrating, delayed roaring 20's due to longer state of war in europe, interwar period largely the same as OTL, no-neutral Spain in WW2, less successful Barbarossa, roughly equally spread out chinese front casualties, same end result in WW2, inconclusive Chinese Civil War that results in a split China (and an independent Tibet because why not), Korean War going the same as OTL, Vietnam war resulting in the victory of the South thanks to South China(aka the ROC)'s intervention, slower decolonization, and the successful reformation of the USSR into the Union of Soviet Sovereign Republics, and the rp would start in january 1992 following the final event

Benn thinking of a post-apocalyptic nation RP. Premise is that the world as we now it ended because of two major and interconnected disasters, the first being the Global Energy Crisis and the second being escaped nanites that break people down atom by atom. The nanites where just supposed to break down plastic and other petroleum based product back into something that could be used as fuel, instead they got out of containment and killed billions of people before they just kinda stop.

I was inspired by the tabletop game Flying Circus after hearing about it on youtube (plus I've been wanting to do my own RP and incorporate aircraft into a fiction setting for quite a while now and I finally figured out how to do it) so I came up with an RP concept by taking some themes from the setting and mixing in my own ideas. It starts off as your classic “some huge disaster happened that wiped out most of humanity, yada yada yada” mostly because there’s toxic gas and radiation left from the fallout of a nuclear war. So the remnants of humanity have begun to rebuild, mostly in remote cities and towns that are either built high on top of mountains or deep underground to be safe from the toxic gas and because of this, you can only really reach other locations by aircraft or boat.

So our story starts in one of these mountaintop villages who is experiencing a plague due to the toxic gas brought back by somebody who ventured down to the ground. People are getting sick and dying and shit, and the only way to save your town is by getting medicine from one of our allies. The thing is tho, the allies are pretty much on the other frickin’ side of the world (or close to it) and so the town council has decided to send a squadron of pilots to collect the medicine and bring it back, because planes are faster than ships. So players will play as one of these pilots (or you can be from a rival town/country) on this rescue mission, and you’ll be facing things such as air to air combat, shitty weather, fuel, supply and repair stops, and fantastical beasts/hostile enemies (flying or otherwise) that may want to kill you. The mission is clear-cut but besides that, I’ll leave the world fairly sandbox so that players can explore the world both in their plane and when they have to land. Like the tabletop RPG, the planes you'll be using are the styles of plane that were used in WWI, so biplanes and things like that (although since this is fiction/fantasy, there of course can be modifications)

I'm currently working on fleshing out the setting and mechanics, but I wanted to see if the idea gets some interest before I get invested in all that.

You could have the nanites creatively interpret their programming to include a need to break down microplastics, including ones that happen to wind up inside people and animals.

Thinking of just having it be in North America. For the most part common people don't have electricity, even in nations that have access to hydro and solar power electricity is a valuable commodity that isn't used by just anyone. For the most part you would see a mix of tech, people using animals to transport goods and work field while still using modern firearms and the like.

I am thinking that the nanites never did there original programing beyond break down and procreate, but at some point they kinda stopped grey gooing the world. That doesn't mean they aren't a threat to the world, nanites now exist inside of every living thing on the planet and at any moment could start eating again. They would serve and a ominous dread that hangs over everyone in the world like the Sword of Damocles.

So I've been pondering for a while on this, and I'm thinking of doing a post-modern, RL world-based P2TM roleplay inspired by Battlefield 2042 (the story), where the climate crisis has been escalating for decades, wildfires are spreading through the United States, Canada, Brazil, Australia, a series of economic recessions in the 2030s force the United States to withdraw from the Middle East, paving the way for alternate countries to stabilize the region or inflame it for their own benefit. Wondering whether people would be interested in such a P2TM RP thread.

Well, I was thinking it would be set in the modern-day and for location. I am not sure yet, I got some ideas. Like a lost or uncharted island in the pacific or maybe take the name literally and have it be set in another world. Either an underground world or maybe the party get transported to another world that has dinos and other prehistoric animals and other sentient beings.

I could use an idea from failed rp of mine and the party gets sent to a crossroad world that lies well, at the crossroads between the real world, the spirit world, and other worlds. Which it would contain both its own wildlife along with creatures from Earth. Both alive and extinct wildlife would be found there along with other humans, sentient beings, and spirits. If anyone would be interested in that particular setting,
