On Richardson's Cabinet

Everyone is welcome to app for a member of Richardson's cabinet here are a few very general guidelines for who Richardson is looking for....

1) Only 1 MAYBE 2 democrats in the cabinet and centrist/conservative dems at that
2) Richardson has 0 problem appointing people who opposed him in the primary
3) Richardson considers cabinet appointees "partners" and will give them a bit more autonomy than most Presidents would. However when he does make a decision or determination they better follow it.
4) Richardson has never said this outloud but he is looking for a diverse cabinet
5) Richardson is not looking for tough confirmation battles and wants a cabinet as fast as possible
6) While Richardson doesn't care if you attacked him before he was elected, attacks on Wolf are a different story
7) No one over age 75
8 ) No one actively in Congress. The Senate is tied and the house is only a 5 seat majority... we cannot afford vacancies right now

Character Application and Information Sheet

NS Nation Name: Louisianan
Character Name: Hypolite John Leland Gaspard
Character Gender: Male
Character Age: 76
Character Height: 5' 10"
Character Weight: 174 lbs.
Character Position/Role/Job: Junior Senator-Elect of the State of Louisiana (2020-) US Rep. from Louisiana's 7th District (2000-2010) US Senator from Louisiana (1989-1995) Mayor of Kaplan, Louisiana (1968-1976) Vice President of The Republican Men's Group of Vermillion Parish, Louisiana (1967-1968)
Character Country/State of Birth: Louisiana, United States
Character State of Residence: Louisiana
Character Party Affiliation: Republican (Formerly Democrat before running for political office in the 1960s)
Main Strengths: Charismatic, Sweet, Humble, Well Known Personality, Sharp/Witty
Main Weaknesses: Loud, Confrontational, Hot-Headed, Old, Controversial, Gulliable
Biography: Hypolite was born in 1944 to Edval and Meaun Gaspard, 42 and 36. Edval hailed from Forked Island where the family resided while Meaun came from the faraway city of Erath. Both were devout Catholics and raised their twelve children to be so as well. The family mostly spoke french around the house and had trouble transitioning during school. By the time Meaun died, she still spoke little English.

The fourteen-member household lived in a three-bedroom shack, Hypolite's eight older brothers were either in school or in the military, while his two older sisters were married, and his two younger sisters were developing into fine young women. Hypolite's father, Edval was the ferry master on the Isle Maronne ferry, while his mother Meaun worked in the fields to assist with cotton picking, cane farming, or hay baling. When it came to his studies, Hypolite was at the top of the family, his father had no schooling, nor could he read or write, while Hypolite's mother graduated fourth grade.

Hypolite continued to study until he graduated High School in 1962. After Graduating from E. Broussard High, he went and joined the navy. Tragedy struck a few months after joining, his father was diagnosed with cancer. Hypolite was honorably discharged from the navy and helped at home with his father until he died later that year. Hypolite began working in the various bars around the parish to help care for his mother and sisters.

In 1963, Hypolite met the love of his life, Angelle Broussard at the Fais-Do-Do. They were married at the end of that year, they used some of his navy checks to buy a two-bedroom home in Kaplan, and with much debate, he decided to use the GI Bill to go to the nearby LSU College and study Political Science. He graduated college in 1967 at the age of 23, and in June of that year, God blessed him with a daughter.

By 1967, Hypolite had 3 children. He became the Vice President of The Republican Men's Group of Vermillion Parish, which was founded by a fellow graduate of E. Broussard, and with that title under his belt, Hypolite ran for Kaplan Mayor in 1968. He won and became one of the youngest mayors in Louisiana. He spent his first term desegregating the public pools of Kaplan, with little success, but did succeed in getting more funding for the colored schools in Kaplan.

By 1972, there was a drastic rate of crime among the colored population. He decided it was time to run a campaign election that would gain him popularity in Louisiana, Gaspard For All Colors! Was his slogan. He vowed to lower the crime, and 'fix' the issues in the negro community. As the only somewhat pro black candidate in the race, he won a majority of the black vote but did little to help them in actuality. He was thrown much hatred from the large democratic groups around his Parish but won by a landslide in Kaplan, which was fairly moderate at the time.

Hypolite is known for petitioning the governor, his senator, and his representative, and he is proud of assisting in ending the ERA's lifeline in Louisiana and he's met Phyllis Schlafly many times.

After leaving the mayoral mansion, had two more kids and by the mid-eighties, he was ready to run again! He ran for US Representative of Louisiana's 7th District but lost before the race started. It was a major Democratic stronghold, and he conceded to a fellow Republican who the state party thought had better chances in return for political favors in the future. They were wrong but still supported Hypolite's venture, wholeheartedly in his future Senatorial Campaign. In 1989 he ran for US Senate and won.

He was a bug in the ear of state leaders while he made big moves in Washington, he had the Republican Party and Republican Legislature of the state under his finger, so it was simple to get the Democratic Governor to listen to Hypolites requests. For instance, he was a major voice in the debate against gay marriage in 1990 stating, "Louisianan's don't believe that a... a couple of commie pinko's ought to have the same rights as my wife and me under the law."

He worked with the opposition and convinced many other senators to pass the IDEA Act, not to mention his unwavering support of the FACT Act of 1990. He convinced 12 of the 21 co-sponsors to co-sponsor the HEART Act of 1993. Hypolite was a firebrand in the party. He was a member of an elite Republican advisory group who assisted state legislators; Hypolite stayed in office until 1995.

Within his time in the Senate, he was a key Bipartisan, Moderate, Senator, and if something was passed that he didn't like, he would tell the world, sometimes in a controversial manner. A New Orleans reporter once asked him, "If given the choice between modern feminist bill or a democratic immigration bill, what would you choose?" he replied, "Well, Tacos give me diarreah, and so do feminists, I'm at a loss for words, partner."

With his newfound popularity and fame, his family life suffered, he took a five-year hiatus to regain his political strength, as well as deal with familial drama and strengthen his failing marriage. Tragedy struck again when his mother was killed in a car crash at age 92, in 2000. Knowing that she would want him to, Hypolite decided to run for congress again, this time as a US Representative, it would mean more time near home with his family as opposed to being a Senator, and besides, the current senator had one year left to go, but Hypolite knew he couldn't wait, his mother's angel guided him along his campaign path.

Hypolite won, and yet again he was a key member in congress when it came to many decisions especially after the 9/11 attacks. In the late mid to late 2000, Hypolite was a major donor to the Bush Campaign just as he did in The First Bush Era. In 2001, an attack on our nation occurred, and after much planning, Hypolite co-sponsored the Patriot Act, which he knew would protect our nation.

In his second term from 2002-2004, Hypolite gained major success in assisting in unifying the congress, in which both had a Republican Majority.

Later in his third term from 2004-2006, Hypolite was involved in a plot. A few other representatives contacted Hypolite with war records of the democratic nominee for president. Hypolite advised the group of representatives to leak the War Record. When confronted about this, he told news reporters, "Listen, folks, I was in the navy, I was there for a few months, I am honest about that and I have no shame. I hate draft dodgers, and more so, I hate folks who lie about their contributions to our country."

In 2006, his own campaign came under attack, a woman named Jeanette Fitzgerald of Grand Chenier, Louisiana, claimed to have had his daughter. The people of Hypolite's district knew what type of a woman Jeanette was so they ignored her, Hypolite knew the truth, and that's why he paid her off until she died in 2014. Hypolite won his fourth term with 58% of the vote. Nothing major happened during this term, the issue came about in his fifth term.

In Hypolite Gaspard's fifth term from 2008-2010, a black man won the presidency. Originally, there was no issue, but a few weeks into 2009, he was alerted that Baharia might not be an American Citizen. Hypolite was angry that a foreigner would become president he said some choice words to a reporter about how the democrats were taking over with African implants. Nevertheless, Hypolite still had his supporters behind him when he decided not to run for reelection in 2010 on account of how corrupt the government was becoming, and he was a bit hurt when it came out that the 'birther theories' were untrue and Hyppie G was decieved. Hypolite was an average southerner, who knew who to rally, and for what cause. He later decided to retire from politics for the foreseeable future.

In 2019, Hypolite had a near-death experience, his doctors found a shadow in his lung only for it to be a benign tumor, in the hospital, Hypolite had a premonition of Louisiana and the country being run by democrats for the rest of Hypolites life, and he thought God was telling him to run for Senator again while he was still well and he did.

Hypolite began his campaign in late 2019 and campaigned incredibly hard. At the beginning of 2020, he started his 64 Parish Campaign tour, promising to give a word to the people in each parish of Louisiana. At the beginning of the race, he supported Nathaniel Richardson (or other char) as the nominee for president, before retracting his endorsement after seeing Bernard Porter (idk if he's in this) as the States Favorite candidate.

After a fierce blowout that damaged both the Richardson and Gaspard Campaigns, Hypolite returned his endorsement to Richardson but scarcely spoke of the Governor by name.

Hypolite is the likely Republican winner in the Blanket Primary and was expected to continue to the runoff election against Secretary Lawrence Bellman.

Other Info: Hypolite is still married to Angelle Gaspard, and together they have five children. Melana Gaspard (56) Evariste Gaspard (54) Ulepse Gaspard (55) Maudry Gaspard (42) Lessiant Gaspard (39). Hypolite quit smoking in late 2019 but continues every once in a while. Hypolite is a Conservative. He considers himself as a True Conservative, open to bipartisanship. After the term of President Wolf, Hypolite has had to shift his views further to the right to stay relevant with Louisiana's far-right rhetoric. Anyone who was to meet him would know he is a very kind man, who is more moderate and smart than he lets on. Hypolite enjoys playing the Accordion and spending time with his INCREDIBLY large family. He also has very controversial opinions on the recent racial unrest in the country and is very outspoken against 'untruths' about the country and his state of Louisiana.

Also, I have no idea what committees he would be allowed on

    U.S. Senator from Michigan (2003-)
Character State of Origin: Iran
Character State of Residence: Michigan
Character Party Affiliation:
    Democratic (1973-)
Main Strengths:
Main Weaknesses: Unproven as the Senate Democratic Leader, let alone as the Senate Majority Leader;

Benjamin Ryan Hertzog was born on August 3, 1955 to Harold and Anna Hertzog in Tehran. Harold descended from a group of German Jews who made their way into the Great Lakes in the late 1800s and Anna was the daughter of a Polish and Russian Jew who immigrated to New York City in the early 1900s. The two of them had met in Europe during WWII as they had both decided to join the Army after hearing the news about the Holocaust. He was an injured infantryman and she was his nurse. The two would marry soon after and moved to Ann Arbor where Harold would finish his university education. Fast forward a decade later and Harold had become a Foreign Service Officer and the couple had decided to felt stable enough to make some additions to their family, Benjamin himself in 1955, then his brother in 1957, and his sister in 1960.

The Hertzog children would grow up in the Middle East and Europe given that they were his Dad's preferred regions. A few years in Iran here, a few years in France there, a few years in Jordan or Israel every once and a while, those 3 nonconsecutive years were the family lived in Michigan and then New York when their Dad was in a more dangerous country, so on and so forth. It was a rather interesting way to grow up, and it made for a rather fun childhood especially seeing as the family would see go to see the sites in their new country whenever they could. However, as Benjamin was entering High School there were aspects of it he was growing tired of. Having to leave and form a new friend group every 2 or 3 years was never fun, and the lack of freedom was even worst once he moved into his more rebellious years. In school he'd fall in love with the natural sciences, something about the predictability and structure of it all gave him an attachment to it in contrast to the confusion he felt whenever his parents would try an explain foreign policy to him, plus it didn't help that he was fairly good at it too.

It was the Summer of 1969 that would change his life forever, watching the moon landing was a formative event for the young Benjamin, he was practically transfixed. Once he'd start high school about a month afterward he'd almost fall into the sciences with a fever he had yet to possess with dreams of the final frontier filling his head on a nightly basis. While it would fad in intensity through the rest of high school, especially when he found an interest in biology, but it never really left the time he was looking at colleges, he'd find a good one in his Dad's alma mater.

When Ben started his studies at the University of Michigan in the fall of 1973. He was a bit nervous when it came to the social aspects of college given his upbringing but he would naturally readjust to everything quickly enough just like he had numerous other times before. Overall, Benjamin enjoyed his time in undergrad, he entangled himself in both the academic and social aspects of it where he had the chance to do research at an early age and to have a social life that would last for a whole four years at the very least. Another world event that happened during this time period that would shape Benjamin's life was the Watergate Scandal. While he wasn't transfixed to it in the same way he was to the moon landing, it did give him a major interest in politics, so much so he started taking classes in the field, and soon enough he had enough credits to tack it onto his degree as a minor. He'd graduate with a B.S. in his major of Astronomy and Astrophysics with his two minors in Biology and Political Science tacked on in the Spring of 1977.

The following fall, Benjamin would trade Michigan for Pasadena, California where he'd be pursuing his graduate degree at the California Institute of Technology. Early on into his career there he developed an interest in the effects astrophysical phenomena such as solar radiation, among a number of others, had on biological life. It was a rather eclectic field at the time and still is for the most part, but it was what he was interested in. Just given the nature of what he was doing most of his research in and the connections CalTech had with the institution, Benjamin would end up working with NASA while he was still a student, spending a semester and the summer following it in Houston on an internship related to experiments involving cells and how they function under the various conditions of space and space travel. After graduating with his Ph.D. in Astrophysics in the Spring of 1982, he'd apply to work at NASA as a researcher and once again, given CalTech's connections with the institution and his own record with them, he would end up getting hired.

Moving full-time to Houston, Benjamin was extremely excited.

NS Nation Name: Louisianan
Character Name: Linda D. Lazare
Character Gender: Female
Character Age: 40
Character Height: 5' 5"
Character Weight: 121 lbs
Character Position/Role/Job: US Representative of Texas's 7th Congressional District (2019-) (2015-2017)
Character Country/State of Birth: Texas, United States of America
Character State of Residence: Texas
Character Party Affiliation: Democratic
Main Strengths: Can appeal to minorities, Great Debater, Anti Wolfer, Pro-Choicer
Main Weaknesses: O.K. at Interviews, Isn't Tech Savvy, Not Too Transparent, Unable to Accept Responsibility
Biography: Linda Lazare was born in 1980 to parents Wilfred and Molly Lazare, she was raised in a mostly poor household. her father was a disabled veteran, while her mother was a bus driver. Linda was a very studious child, she was a 3.8 GPA student most of her life. She graduated high school and went into the University of Houston for Nursing. During college she became interested in politics, especially after the (Not-Bill Clinton) scandal. After she graduated college, she began volunteering at Soup Kitchens and Homeless shelters and became a secretary at a local law firm. As time went on, she noticed her parents going deeper and deeper into debt, she looked into it, and found out that they were paying for her College expenses which were way more than Linda originally thought. Linda was furious that politicians were touting how important education was, and how it would help in the future, and yet force people to pay these outrageously high expenses. She wrote to her Republican Representative about her issue, and nothing was done, no response or anything.

While in college, Linda also helped out at many blood drives. After college, Linda became aware of the Healthcare Crisis in America. After college, Linda became a Certified Nurse, and worked at various hospitals on and off, part time. Linda took an interest in politics and decided that would be her strong suit, and that her time as a nurse could help her.

In the late 2000s (Not Hillary Clinton) Announced her campaign for US President and Linda was inspired, she joined (not Hillary's) campaign staff and worked to help her win. Linda grew in the ranks and became (Not-Hillary's) scheduling coordinator. Eventually, it was obvious that a (Not-Hillary) nomination would soon come so Linda joined Rashid Baharia's campaign staff and worked with his Scheduling Coordinator to get things done. She helped him campaign in many key states that led to his victory.

Later on in 2009 she decided that she would run for Congress. She ran for US Representative for the 7th District, she was primarying three more popular Democrats and came last at the end of the primary. She didn't let this deter her, she ran three more times in 2011 she didn't make the primary,in 2015 she won, and 2017 she lost the general Election.

In her 2015-2017 term as Representative she blames her low successes on then President Elect Wolf She worked to keep the ACA and help expand healthcare and getting it to the people who need it most, this made her unpopular with the wolfists who were very common at the time which made her lose the 2017 reelection. Her approval rating at the time of her departure was at about 67% but still she lost with only 46% of the vote going to her.

Then, in 2019 she ran again, this time she ran on a more middle liberal platform, she ran with the Me Too movement, with some support from the BLM movement, and attended many Protests and Marches with them, she would protest with Healthcare Activists, and the leader of Houstons Women on The Move group once said, "If we can't trust the Republican women in office to help us, we need a strong Democratic woman and Linda is that lady." With assistance from Women's rights groups and some help from the BLM group she won the Primary and the general election and was sworn in office on January 3rd 2019.

Later in 2020, she hopped into the race for Texas's Senate Seat. She gained notoriety as a meme, and as an easy win for Republicans. She eventually dropped out and focused on her congressional work where she wrote and passed the HPPSO Act through the House with Bipartisan support. She was re-elected and holds her seat as a Blue dot on the Texas Congressional map.

Other Info:
She is Pro Choice, she believes we should have better background checks for weapons, while not banning them entirely. She believes in raising the taxes on the rich, lowering the price for universities, cheaper healthcare, and helping the climate. [b]She supported the Equality Act and supported the Carbon Fund Act, as well as the Fair House Apportionments Act.

In December of 2020, Linda Lazare married her few month sweetheart Rodney Daniels. She kept her name Lazare like a true feminist, and is currently three months pregnant.

I have read and accept the rules of the roleplay: (Louisianan)

Do Not Remove: DRAFT87421

Don't know what her committees would be either.

1. Scheduling coordinator just for Texas for the Clinton campaign would be a better starting point and then the Baharia campaign just for Texas.
2. What was her day job btwn 2008 and winning the house election in 15?
3. Happy she's coming back, she became one of my fav characters in LOTF. Beef this up a tad more and she is in

Character Application and Information Sheet

NS Nation Name: Gordano and Lysandus
Character Name: Caroline Simone
Character Gender: Female
Character Age: 70
Character Height: 5’5”
Character Weight: 128lbs

Character Position/Role/Job: U.S. Representative for the 12th District of New York (2014-); Speaker of the United States House of Representatives (2019-2020); Chair of the House Democratic Caucus (2019); U.S. Ambassador to Turkey (2009-2012); Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Office of Southern European Affairs (2006-2009); Staffer, State Department (1992-2006); Researcher, Foreign Policy Institute (1980-1992).
Character Country/State of Birth: New York, United States
Character State of Residence: New York/District of Columbia
Character Party Affiliation: Democratic

Main Strengths: Authoritative voice on foreign and defense policy; diplomatic and respected voice among the Democratic caucus.; achieved caucus unity and scored valuable concessions during the 117th Congress.
Main Weaknesses: Blamed by some for the 2020 congressional defeat; liberal interventionist views often conflated with hawkishness; reaping the whirlwind for her firm stance towards less mainstream Democrats (conservative or progressive) from her time in leadership.

Caroline Paola Simone was born on Thursday 15th March 1951 in Brooklyn, New York City to Daniel Simone, an Italian-American World War II veteran and architect, and Paola Simone (née Puglisi), a Sicilian emigrée and stay-at-home mother. Enjoying a comfortably upper-middle class lifestyle in the more affluent Brooklyn Heights area of the borough, she was raised in the strong Roman Catholic faith shared by both parents. Simone would later describe her faith as "fundamental" to her Democratic politics, even if she forwardly eschewed the traditionally socially conservative leanings of the Church. Attending various independent schools operated by the Diocese of Brooklyn, she was observed to be "disinterested" in student politics, but having a "keen eye" on current affairs, with her childhood coinciding with the height of the Cold War and the ongoing conflict in Vietnam.

After graduating from St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy in 1970, she was accepted into Cornell University to pursue a bachelor's degree in Government. During the course of her studies for her BA in Government, she met George Hayes, an Economics student, in 1972, and the two began dating. Though she engaged in some limited student activism, she was not seen as particularly interested in pursuing a career in politics at this time, and when she moved on to her master's degree in Near Eastern Studies, it became apparent that the scope of her interest seemed to lie more in public service than personal advancement.

Marrying George in 1975 and bearing her one child with him in that same year, a son by the name of Damian, she spent the first few years after completing her master's degree focusing on her home life and raising their fledgling family, moving back to Brooklyn Heights in their shared home as her husband pursued a career in finance.

When the Foreign Policy Institute at John Hopkins University's Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies was founded in 1980, Simone accepted a position there as a researcher and policy analyst. This caused her to grow distant from her young family as she needed to move to Washington D.C. in order to build the career she had long worked towards. This created friction in her relationship, as her husband considered her to be an "absent spouse", as later emerged in the very bitter divorce battle between the two of them some years later. During her time at the FPI, Simone would become acquainted with ex-Carter Administration officials like Secretary of Defense Harold Brown and National Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski.

In 1992, Simone finally applied to work at the State Department during the administration of President John Burke Sr., in the Office of Southern European Affairs in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs. Whilst this move represented the long-desired transition into public service that Simone had long desired, it also cemented the estrangement from her husband and son in New York City, and led to the breakdown of their marriage. An extensive divorce proceeding in the midst of 1993 did not appear to disrupt Simone's career, but resulted in a difficult relationship with her son Damian, who would soon join the U.S. Navy and would serve in operations over the former Yugoslavia, where he was seriously injured.

Long-serving at the State Department and well-entrenched into the frank, nonpartisan culture there, she would be chosen for Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in 2006 by the Burke Jr. Administration, and went on to later be nominated to the post of Ambassador to Turkey in 2009, being confirmed swiftly and uncontroversially by the Senate. During her time as a foreign service officer, she was observed to be "frank, serious, and authoritative", and was viewed as a role model for future women diplomats.

As the Baharia Administration continued into the election year of 2012, Simone reportedly became disillusioned with President Baharia's leadership with the continuing wind-down of military commitments in the Middle East, particularly in Iraq. Seen as closer to Secretary of State Diane Clifford's style of leadership than President Baharia, the final straw for Simone would be the embarrassing climbdown following President Baharia's 'red-line' in Syria. She went on to retire as Ambassador to Turkey in the summer of 2012. As chance would have it, a special election had opened up in the 12th District back in New York and - seeing an opportunity to continue to affect policy decisions - she announced her candidacy soon after her retirement from the Foreign Service. The perceived closeness she had to President Baharia, her firmly liberal policy convictions, and her reputation for professionalism helped her achieve a convincing win in the primary, and she was duly elected in late 2013 to the safe Democratic district.

Before she gravitated towards leadership, Simone was perceived to be a candid and hardworking congresswoman with clear areas of expertise with some bipartisan credentials. When she first entered Congress, she was taken under the wing of an elder New York Senator, with whom she became close since she first came to Congress. A strong figure on the Foreign Policy Committee, she notably penned many bills to help facilitate sanctions on hostile foreign regimes like Russia, Venezuela, and Myanmar. Though she often supported the Baharia Administration's policy goals, notably in her support for President Baharia's Iran Deal, she was unafraid of being critical of the Administration in many areas, in particular making her opposition known to the Cuban Thaw and to the reduction of combat operations in Afghanistan.

During the early presidency of Arnold Wolf, she was an active critic of his foreign policy, particularly denouncing his withdrawal from diplomatic engagement with Iran, his attacks on NATO allies, and his frequent threats to enact unilateral withdrawals from various strategic theaters

During the 2016 presidential election cycle, she was an early and active endorser and supporter of former Secretary of State Diane Clifford. An active campaign surrogate for the Clifford campaign, she made authoritative statements in defense of Clifford's foreign policy positions, in particular with regards to supporting the Iraq War and advising President Baharia to implement a no-fly zone over Syria. The aftermath of the election reportedly left Representative Simone "crestfallen" and she withdrew from public press appearances for a time. She was noticeably critical of Senator Baginski, who she accused of "recklessly suppressing the Democratic vote" and "fomenting baseless conspiracies for personal gain and attention".

During the early presidency of Arnold Wolf, she was an active critic of his foreign policy, particularly denouncing his withdrawal from diplomatic engagement with Iran, his attacks on NATO allies, and his frequent threats to enact unilateral withdrawals from various strategic theaters

In early 2019, there was a general perception that unity in the congressional Democratic Party was weak, and Simone became a surprising dark-horse candidate to take up the post of Chair of the House Democratic Caucus after the sudden death of the incumbent. With no others contesting her candidacy, she easily managed to secure the position, marking the beginning of her rapid rise in Democratic leadership. As Chair, she helped negotiate support for a bipartisan gun control package after a major shooting, and worked with fellow representatives in securing Republican votes in both the House and Senate for a renewed push for a Reapportionment Act. Both would be later stymied by the Republican Senate Majority Leader.

As an ascendant figure in Democratic leadership, and younger than both the House Majority Leader and House Majority Whip, Simone was seen as the natural choice to replace the incumbent Democratic leader and Speaker, whose slow and steady decline in authority and presence throughout the early 116th Congress had been detrimental to efforts to prepare for the 2020 election. When it became clear that the Speaker could not continue, Simone stood unopposed to succeed him as the Democratic nominee for Speaker, and on September 9th, 2019, she was elected by the House of Representatives to serve as the 62nd Speaker of the House, the second woman, second Italian-American, and third New Yorker to do so.

As Speaker, she presided over a marked increase in passed Democratic priorities in the House, and assured the passage of a number of bipartisan bills through both chambers to be sent to the President's Desk. She is broadly considered to have tamped down "intra-party divisions" in the House Democratic Caucus, with a decrease in overall Democratic infighting since the beginning of the 116th Congress. She was welcoming and diplomatic upon the resignation of President Arnold Wolf on health grounds, and the succession of President Richard Tawney to the office.

During the 2020 U.S. Recession, she attempted to engage in bipartisan negotiations on recession relief with President Tawney and Republican leaders. The breakdown of these negotiations resulted in significant finger-pointing on both sides, with both Republicans and Democrats notably scheduling their press conferences to announce rival relief packages at the same time and date. Behind-the-scenes negotiations involving leading representatives of the White House and congressional Democrats, allowed for the Speaker to force major concessions from the Republicans over some of the relief legislation.

With the nomination of the two candidates to contest the 2020 presidential election, the bipartisan well dried up and positions hardened in both the House and the Senate. Further progress on bipartisan bills failed, and caucus discipline started to splinter at the edges. This, combined with Democratic nominee Robin Diehl’s weak campaign presence, was a lethal blow to Democratic control of the House and thus to Simone’s continued speakership. When defeat became evident in November, Simone accepted a fair share of the responsibility for the loss, whilst excoriating Republicans for voter suppression, disinformation, and intimidation. Resigning respectfully from House Democratic leadership, she remains in the House of Representatives and enjoys sufficient respect from her peers to have been nominated and elected to serve as Ranking Member on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

No COVID, but instead an economic crisis originating in crisis that (for sake of ease) has the exact same economic impact as COVID.

I'm considering taking the Democratic Senator of Georgia as my progressive instead of recreating Boyd, with similar background to my prior Blockett app. Porter will return with a few changes, but not that many.
This is Emazia's puppet, will be main soon.

Main Strengths: Military experience, Long term state government experience, Well liked in Utah, Strong willed
Main Weaknesses: PTSD, very emotional, establishment, somewhat on the outs with the GOP for a slight dislike of Wolf's style and overt willingness to work with Democrats, social media outbursts,
Biography: Everett was born in Salt Lake City and raised on a small farm about 10 miles outside the conurbation. Raised in a Mormon household, he was raised with a deep appreciation of the American political tradition and traditional American culture. He had emotional problems during school stemming from his father's death at age 10, but he finished high school third in his class. He attended the University of Utah, where he almost failed out in the first month. On the advice of a friend, he tried out for football. The coach provided him with the mentorship needed to continue. He eventually graduated 10th in his class, with a degree in business administration. He also started at free safety his redshirt junior and senior years. He played in the 1992 Copper Bowl, a 28-31 loss to Washington State. After graduation, he spent a three years in the Mormon missionary service, mainly serving in southern California. He worked for the Smith's grocery chain until 9/11, as an administrative assistant.
After the 9/11 attacks, Everett enlisted in the Marines and saw two tours of duty in Afghanistan with the 3rd Marine Division, 12th Regiment. He served with distinction. In one incident, the vehicle he was traveling in took an IED blast and rolled over. Everett cut everyone out of their seat belts and removed them all from the vehicle. No one was killed, and they all returned to duty at a later date, although he did suffer a concussion in the blast. He was discharged honorably with the rank of Corporal. In 2005, when he returned, he went to work at the Salt Lake VA hospital as an administrative assistant. That meant he mainly dealt with the day to day running of the hospital and some of its finances. In 2006, seeing the path the VA was on as well the path the country was on, he decided to run for Utah State House district 28. He was victorious in his first primary, winning by 205 votes. He was elected by an electorate disgusted with the way the country was heading. He developed a small government, pro-life, pro-business, pro-veteran voting record over his 12 years in the state house. He occasionally voted against his party if he thought it would help his district and did not impinge on his Mormon values. He held the chairman ship of the Veterans and Military Affairs Commission his final two terms. He also served on the Business and Labor Committee. In 2018 he ran for Senate largely on the strength of his voting record. He made sure to visit every county in Utah. He won the primary due to the Republicans in Utah liking his independent streak as well as his willingness to work with Democrats if it would help Utah. He went on the attack against his Democratic opponent in the general election. He asserted she was soft on national security, and he also attacked her as weak on economic matters, as well as being a bit out of touch with Utah. He was supportive of the President, but hesitant due to some of the comments he made about women and minorities, as well as his nicknames. He won that election with 62.6% of the vote. Upon arrival in the Senate, he began to push a strong national security agenda, while pushing to confront China. He was a strong advocate for increasing the strength of the US military. He also has longer term goals of pushing infrastructure and Social Security reform. He earned some derision for his comments after the payroll tax was suspended, Colbert called the suspension "illegal, unwise, and dumb as hell."
Other Info: He holds Romney's seat

Character Position/Role/Job: Junior Senator-Elect of the State of Louisiana (2020-) US Rep. from Louisiana's 7th District (2000-2010) US Senator from Louisiana (1989-1995) Mayor of Kaplan, Louisiana (1968-1976) Vice President of The Republican Men's Group of Vermillion Parish, Louisiana (1967-1968)
Character Country/State of Birth: Louisiana, United States

Character Party Affiliation: Republican (Formerly Democrat before running for political office in the 1960s)
Main Strengths: Charismatic, Sweet, Humble, Well Known Personality, Sharp/Witty

Character State of Residence: Ohio
Character Party Affiliation: Republican
Main Strengths: War hero, charismatic, strong rural and working-class support, high name recognition, military support, popular among young and activist conservatives.
Main Weaknesses: Extremely socially conservative, splinters from the paleoconservative base due to his militaristic foreign policy, may be too economically liberal for traditional Republicans, soft on guns, quite corrupt, somewhat controversial, not entirely mentally stable.
Biography: Roffe was a working-class man, with both his parents being land-owning yet poor farmers who sold to large clients that. In his younger years, he began to resent wealth and what he deemed as 'elites', as he often heard conversations across the walls where his parents were threatened by the representatives of rich men. In order to gain an education, he joined the USM, went to ROTC and got his degree to become an officer, qualifying for the Elite Rangers, and was specifically chosen for UNOSOM I. He got a bit of a reputation as a vicious fighter, and so was deployed to UNOSOM II, and was one of the soldiers stuck behind enemy lines in the Battle of Mogadishu, and had seized a Somali position containing machine guns with the remaining members of his personal fireteam (as he was a major at the time), and had held off Somali troops for several hours of constant fire and bloodshed, until they ran out of ammo and charged down with knives to meet the rest of the force. Roffe was the only survivor, and was left heavily injured, particularly in the right leg, yet uncaptured, to be extracted. The TV coverage of the area had granted Roffe name recognition, etc...HIs actions were awarded a Medal of Honor by President Clifford. He was later interviewed for Black Hawk Down and was recruited for the film of the same name to ensure that it was accurate, albeit he pushed his political slant on the film, being one of the few people that made it the pro-war piece that it became. He also took an advanced infantry course at Fort Benning once he had recovered, allowing him to become a West Point company tactical officer, later becoming the Executive Officer for the 19th Mountain Division after taking a US Army Command and General Staff Course.

He joined the war in Iraq, first as Chief of Staff at United States Central Command, leading several stratagems and later being promoted to head up the Iraq mission - and writing (albeit not publishing) a few books on military strategy, along with a few fiction books with war themes. He didn't touch on politics that much in his books, but many began to analyse his books and determine that he had a right-wing slant when they were finally ghostrewritten and released prior to his run for Governor of Ohio. He hired some ghostwriters, handed them some ideas and gave them a share of the profits from his name recognition in getting the Medal of Honor. Meanwhile, back in Iraq, he got appointed as head of the MNC, commanding over 150,000 troops, and his actions had earned him both infamy and fame back home, for his strong yet brutal manoeuvres, helping crush the Iraqi army in good time and he continued being hailed as a hero even after the war became unpopular. After the dissolution of the MNC, Roffe was reassigned to Afghanistan and promoted to General, commanding the ISAF and helping to run the show, heading up the mission to kill Osama bin Laden.

However, while he still held his political opinions, he mostly focused on his military service until the Governor of Ohio declared his surprise announcement to retire - some say because of Roffe's allies coercing them into it, although he did no such thing - and so Roffe came in, charging at what many saw as a shoo-in for a prominent moderate Congressman, managing to triumph over them, climbing just over the top in the primary, then destroying his opponent in a landslide at the general election as 6-year syndrome set in, thumping his opponent 59-39 (worse than IRL), after his opponent was hit by several scandals, some researched by Roffe's team - who many of his detractors named the Ohio CREEP for its viciousness in going after many of the leads that they found against the opponent in question - and others simply emerging organically as a result of his opponent's lack of discretion.

Roffe himself, however, had quite a bit of discretion, some would say too much, as he has been called paranoid and mad, with one socialist journal even printing out that he was 'mentally ill', and Roffe, taking personal offence at the attack, sued the journal for libel and won damages, even getting a psychiatrist in to prove the allegations weren't true. In terms of his personal life, he has a wife - who has been considering getting into politics herself - and five children, along with two grandchildren.

Roffe, immediately upon taking office, soon became a darling of the far-right, some say almost out of nowhere. He became a mainstay of FOX News whenever they needed a conservative Republican, and developed a national following, both of supporters and detractors, for his controversial statements. Conservative Republicans called him the future of the party, while liberal Democrats denounced him as a madman and a fascist, as he struck back with colourful rhetoric, once telling a BLM protester at one of his events to "shut up and sit down" and called her a "coward and a socialist", which attracted much denouncement from many calling his comments racist and sexist.

However, for some reason yet unknown to people, while this increased the strength of his detractors, this didn't make him any less popular, portraying himself as a man of the people and honed his skills at selling an image, reminding people of his military service which would be reminiscient of [not-Kerry] were he not so aggressive about it. Meanwhile, in his first term, much to the surprise of many, he actually did things, signing a bill to reverse his predecessor's tax bill - slashing sales tax and raising income tax as he did so - while implementing universal preschool for the entire state, slashing renewable energy subsidies and signing a heartbeat bill in 2016. (Note: the IRL Ohio legislature passed such a bill, it was just vetoed by Kasich)

He also privatised prisons - making very close friends of the CEOs of those companies in the process, using the money to increase fossil fuel subsidies and create coal jobs across his home region of Southeast Ohio. He also signed into law a medicaid expansion law, and implemented bills to strengthen charter schools and provide school choice to Ohio, while increasing the funding of public schools there, in order to prevent a teachers' strike. He also fought an effort by civil rights organisations to legalise same-sex marriage in Ohio in the early part of his term in 2014, defeating the ballot measure soundly, however Obergefell v. Hodges made his attempts to fight against it moot.

Roffe was then the keynote speaker at the 2015 National Prayer Breakfast - of which he was a regular attender - and he had made a fiery speech calling for the need to restore morality in American politics and talking about the need for a national rebirth under God and to recognise the Christian heart of America. This had built up speculation of a possible Presidential run, with many fearing that he would come to power. However, that did not happen. Instead, he spoke with a certain man from Maine, whom he had been contacting since his rise to the Governor of Ohio, with him having made some political donations to his campaign. They became very close friends, agreeing on a strong conservative viewpoint.

Upon Wolf's announcement to run, Roffe endorsed him, and in return he was given a leading role within the campaign. Roffe, in an off the record with a reporter, once said about this, "It's not about winning. It's about pushing an agenda. It's about...a real conservative, a push towards a better and stronger America. Reagan said he'd make America great again and so will Wolf. I don't care about winning. If I wanted to win I'd endorse [not-Cruz] or some other fellow. But I want a new movement, for a different America, for an ascendant conservatism that will lead us to a brighter dawn. Even if we lose...we're going to make all the establishment shriek."

Well, despite what he expected, Wolf won not just the primary, but the general election too. And so Wolf reached out to him, offering Defence or maybe State. Roffe refused, saying that he preferred to be Governor, but would work with Wolf on many key issues. And so he did. He often spoke out in defence of the Wolf administration on every TV and radio station, along with speaking to Wolf personally at least once or twice a week. Meanwhile, despite a strong challenge, he was reelected 52-47 in 2018, and in his second term had got to work on various other issues, implementing universal background checks and red flag laws while - in the same bill - expanding concealed and open carry permits. He also built a large rail network, known as OhioRail, with partial funding from the federal government (as he influenced Wolf to help him with the project in 2017 to help him coast to reelection), which is up and running and employing thousands of people. He also implemented jobs training programmes and grants for afterschool clubs.

During the recession, he sent out stimulus cheques and provided support for small businesses, being widely praised in his home state and beyond for his broadly popular response, although some fiscal conservatives condemned him for his large-scale spending and increasing Ohio's deficit more and more.

Upon the announcement of Wolf's brain tumour, he began to receive a decent political draft, with around 30,000 signatures for him to run for President, as many saw him as a reasonable successor to Wolf, along with one of his friends. He ran for President and got the same results Porter did in LOTF, barring any other externalities. However, unlike Porter, he went all the way to the convention, managing to sway Richardson on a few parts of the party platform.

After 2020, he helped Richardson win the election by campaigning for him in wavering Rust Belt states, including and especially neighbouring Michigan and Pennsylvania, and spoke publicly with members of the young right, such as [not-Charlie Kirk] and [not-Ben Shapiro], while offering support for candidates of his own ideology downballot.

Other Info: Personality-wise, many see him as dangerous and dictatorial, prone to bouts of inchoate anger. Economically moderate, socially conservative.

Israel: "The Jews have a right to their holy land. There is only one solution I recognise: the one-state solution."
Foreign Wars: "We must not let fear stop us from doing what must be done, from doing what is necessary. I have been there, down in the trenches myself, and I would gladly do it again."
Foreign Aid: "I believe in limited amounts of foreign aid, as a method of regime change."
Same-Sex Marriage: "The issue of gay marriage must be left to the religious institutions of this nation. I will not force a man to do a ceremony nor make a cake for a thing he does not believe in."
Immigration: "We must stop the migrant caravan, stop the drugs and stop the illegal border crossings. Human trafficking, rape and other savagery at our border must stop. We must put in strict citizenship tests, strict English tests and a points-based system for immigration. I believe in the melting pot - assimilate or get out."
Refugees and Asylum Seekers: "Many of those who claim to be fleeing death are economic leeches, terrorists or rapists. We must screen them to the highest degree, and only allow a limited number in."
Marijuana: "Marijuana is a gateway drug. Legalising it - and any other drug - would be a symbol of the moral degeneracy of our nation and our lack of concern for our children."
Abortion: "Abortion should be legal only in cases of rape, incest or danger to the mother's life."
Healthcare: "I think medicare for all is a very very expensive thing...I think everyone should have healthcare - and by that I include private healthcare - so I think personally on this issue I would stand in favour of a medicaid expansion as I have stood for in my record as Governor."
HIgher Education: "We must end the education inequality faced by working-class families such as mine. We must also offer more funding for STEM programmes and for education in general. I believe in income-controlled grants, taken away from criminals and from known benefits scammers...In our country, you see all these students, all these young, curious people, brainwashed to hate America. Ban the teaching of critical race theory and ensure Patriotic Education!"
Inequality: "All men and women are born equal, and die equal. We must allow all to eat and sustain their basic needs, after all - as long as they work, of course. We must end the economy of greed that we have made, and replace it with an economy of duty and hard work. Consumerism and greed isn't all there is to life, and we would all do well to remember that at times."
Energy: "We can keep a stable world, a prosperous world, with coal and oil, just as long as we adapt to the changing climate. Switching to wind and solar is an attack on blue-collar jobs, and the Democrats know it!"
Taxation: "Bring up tariffs to cut taxes on the working and middle class!"
Electoral College: "This country was built on the rights of the states and I see no reason to disrupt that."
Guns: "Don't let lunatics or criminals have guns. Give guns to people who need them: hunters, gun ranges and particularly the vulnerable."
LGBT: "The condition of sodomy is a sickness of the mind and transsexuality is no different."

He is quite corrupt but has a clean record?

You still have "Porter" in a couple places

The universal preschool and raising income taxes i have a hard time believing get done.

" He also fought the attempt to overturn the same-sex marriage ban - succeeding in this - however Obergefell v. Hodges cut his attempts to hold the line on that issue short." Could you maybe reword this?

Just curious by why make him a governor and not a senator? Typically a former military guy goes into a place where he can utilize his defense and foreign policy chops.

I worry he is a tad too young

Where did he manage to sway richardson on the platform?

Can you expand on his universal healthcare position a bit?

Universal Healthcare: "It is a nation's duty to protect its citizens from terrorists, and so it is a nation's duty to protect its citizens from disease."

The universal healthcare part and clean record part I meant to deprecate, let me fix that, and I'll fix the Porter stuff too. I'll probably cut the universal preschool, but it's worth noting the income tax part and the sales tax part were part of the same bill, meaning it wasn't a net tax hike but rather a shifting of the tax burden.

I can make him a bit older, although he's actually 5 years older than Porter.

I'm not sure where he could've managed to sway Richardson, this is actually a WIP and I was hoping to talk that over with you and Lavan if they chose to go ahead with their platform. Right now, I'm keeping it vague, although I'd be glad to talk to you more about this in DMs or TGs.

I made him Governor because I think he's more that sort of person, I feel Senator doesn't fit his personality as much (although, spoiler alert, he will be running for Senate in 2022 due to term limits and his wife will take his place, George Wallace-style), and he would rather, in the words of Caesar, be the first in a village than second in Rome.

Biography: (Minimum 2-3 paragraphs)

Nate was born to Patrice and Robert Richardson in 1965 who owned a small realtor company in Florida, employing around a dozen people. He is the second youngest of 4 siblings, Melissa, Thomas, and Jane

Nathaniel attended Duke University starting in 1983 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Economics in 1987, then proceeding on and acquiring a Masters in Business Administration. During college, he worked as an intern with the office of a local Congressman and operated frequently in conjunction with the congressman's domestic affairs adviser. During this time, he also volunteered for other local candidates for office and generally involved himself in the democratic process as much as possible.

After college Richardson moved to DC to work as a political writer, often part time. During this period he worked a number of odd jobs but eventually became a fitness instructor which eventually proved even better for making connections in politics as many of his clients were involved in the DC political scene.

Through a client he managed to get hired by the conservative advocacy group "America Tomorrow" in 1992, becoming a full time writer for several years until the 2000 election when he took a position as one of the speechwriters for the Vice President in 2001, marrying his first wife Saavi Patel the same year. In 2003 his Daughter Jessica was born. In 2004, Richardson returned to Florida, taking up a position with his family’s small business and working with local Republicans to build up connections.

In 2006, Richardson ran against Democrat Peggy Epps in Florida’s 12th Congressional District, winning 55% of the vote in part due to his family's positive name recognition in the area and his connections with the Vice President. Shortly after his election, Nathaniel’s more moderate positions on social issues became evident. He had frequently required whipping in order to pass measures on abortion restrictions past the first trimester and measures restricting gay marriage, whipping him was not difficult but it did require some effort.

Congress put a significant strain on Richardson’s marriage, resulting in a divorce in 2009 after a year of counseling. He and Saavi remain on very good terms. While in Congress, he began championing education reform and joined the Committee on Education and the Workforce eventually coming to chair the committee after the 2008 election. He has consistently favored expanding merit pay for teachers and introducing ESA and voucher programs, and he was the author of the DC voucher pilot program. All this notwithstanding Nathaniel was best known for being a policy wonk, he was the numbers guy who wrote numerous reforms to the tax code especially regarding small businesses and farmers and often brought up policy minuta on the floor of Congress that would have subtle impacts on legislation.

In 2010 he ran for Governor of Florida following the poor response to the recession pursued by the retiring incumbent Governor. Winning a narrow victory with the help of his extremely socially conservative lieutenant governor, Richardson set about the reforms that made Florida the state it is today, focusing on Economy, Education and Healthcare.

Since his inauguration Richardson has committed strongly to fiscal conservatism, balanced budgets, low taxes and de-regulation. In addition to strongly supporting private and charter schools through ESAs and voucher programs. He hit the road targeting businesses in other states and traveling the globe building ties and urging businesses to relocate to Florida. By the end of his term unemployment was .5% below the national average, despite a booming population which grew by 3 million people during his term.

After receiving an ACA deferment, Nathaniel assembled a bipartisan group and built a healthcare system for Florida called FCC “Florida’s Choice Care” which emphasized personal choice, competition and healthcare exchanges while providing a basic safety net. It has been of limited success in the 2 years it has been active but costs for healthcare have consistently (if slowly) been reduced.

In 2013 Nathaniel married his campaign manager Amanda De Sousa, who continues to work on political campaigns throughout the state and region. She has frequently been described as one of the most involved and influential first ladies of any state.

In 2014 Nathaniel won re-election though faced a strong primary challenge by his own Lieutenant Governor who was critical of his veto of a severe bathroom bill and who finally who resigned after Richardson decided to remove some Confederate monuments from public spaces, placing them in museums and battlefields ``Appropriate historical context” after incidents of white supremacist violence. To appeal to religious voters Nathaniel pushed for some measures that limited Transgender involvement in high school and college athletics in the state and placing strong religious freedom protections in place for businesses, additionally he increased restrictions to abortion including signing a 16 week abortion ban into law which was later declared unconstitutional by a court. It was just enough of a bone to throw to put Nathaniel over the top, his excellent record regarding the economy and education led him to a 60-40 primary win over his former lt governor.

Emerging bent but unbroken from the primary, Richardson found a relatively resounding victory in the general election on the back of a booming economy and strong education policy. He owed this victory to a significant portion of Hispanic and Latino voters voting for him, additionally blue collar towns that typically voted democrat flipped for him, his victory was 53-47.

Since 2014 Nathaniel stayed a bit more cautious in his measures, improving on the progress he had already made as Governor in his first term. He has sought occasion to comment on national issues and even a few foreign policy stances, including being a strong advocate for Israel, taking a trip there to start a joint project between Florida and Israel. Additionally he typically travels outside the state at least once a month to give lectures on college campuses throughout the country, campaign for Republicans and speak to Young Republican organizations on college campuses. Recently he has been making trips to South Carolina and spoke at the “Politics and Eggs” breakfast in New Hampshire beginning in 2015, leading many to suspect he has national ambitions.

He considered running for President in 2016 but ultimately decided he wasn’t ready. He endorsed (Not Rubio) initially and then (Not Cruz) before getting behind Wolf. He campaigned enthusiastically but privately didn’t think he’d have a chance in hell of winning. Since Wolf’s election he remained lukewarm to the President.

As he left the Governor's office in 2018 he remained satisfied with the job he had done creating a booming post recession economy but was unable to move Florida away from tourism, real estate and agriculture as much as he wanted to. He consistently received high marks for handling hurricanes and disasters, especially assisting Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. In addition the massive population influx has led to issues with school overcrowding and infrastructure shortages. But overall the 2010s were considered one of Florida's best decades, an expanding economy, booming population, declining crime and flourishing cultural institutions.

He left office with a 52% approval rating and a 40% disapproval rating according to morning consult.

Nathaniel has been married twice, the split with his first wife was "amicable", but his wife has primary custody of their 18 year old daughter due to the nature of his political career. Nathaniel frequently visits his daughter who lives in Durham, North Carolina. Nathaniel is known to be extremely fit, keeping a strict exercise routine and running several miles every morning, with a focus on cardio. He is also a devout Methodist, attending church with his wife every Sunday and his daughter every other Sunday. Jessica Richardson is currently attending Penn State.

In late 2018 Richardson released an autobiography titled “Richardson: American Heart” which sold decently well and laid out his vision for the future of the country. He has also kept extensive and candid diaries since his time in college intending on publishing them at the time of his death.

Richardson planned to run for President in 2024 or 2028 after being elected Senator in Florida’s next open race but Wolf’s diagnosis changed the calculation. Utilizing his connections he was able to hire the best staff and build the best infrastructure in the Party. He would maintain a strong presence but did all he could to lower his threat profile while other Republican candidates took shots at one another. During the first debate he was able to introduce himself to a large swath of the party for the first time and shed some of the moderate image that had been hemming him in.

His strategic alliance with Governor Dunn of Iowa and his hiring of Not-Cruz’s 2016 Iowa staff, and penchant for retail politics helped him win the state with a plurality. The near universal endorsement of Richardson from New England Republicans helped him win New Hampshire by a large swath and the momentum carried him to a narrow victory in South Carolina after winning the majority of dropout endorsements.

Momentum on his side he battled the harder right elements of the Party while winning the support of the Wolf family and outmaneuvering the enemy, with the experienced campaigning staff able to identify and execute the right places to campaign and endorsements to win. Eventually Richardson’s lead became insurmountable and he became the party’s nominee but much of the party refused to back him.

Things looked incredibly bleak for the Richardson campaign and the Republican party, bitterly divided after the primary. However things would begin to turn around after the death of Not George Floyd and riots that followed. Richardson would return to Florida and get good press for helping stem violence in the state, before traveling to Gettysburg and giving a momentous speech on the moment about national unity.

This speech re-energized the campaign and helped seize the moment. Republicans began rallying behind Richardson and the party was back on its feet. At the RNC Richardson laid out a Reform-Conservative Platform, giving shape to many of the ideas of the Wolf administration and began creating a more consistent ideology for the party in this decade, calling it “the Party of the American Dream” whose goal was to “Expand, Protect, and Renew Opportunity”. Combining cultural conservatism with economic policies such as child tax credits and a large infrastructure package the Republican party had a populist package with a messenger for the suburbs more palatable than Wolf had been. This didn’t satisfy everyone but it was enough to unite the party.

On election night Richardson knew it would be close. The battlegrounds of North Carolina, Nebraska 2, New Hampshire and Wisconsin were the primary targets. New Hampshire proved a disappointment, but otherwise the results were narrow wins litigated in court for weeks to come. Eventually a narrow, messy, electoral college win was achieved.

Richardson had won the Presidency but not the popular vote. It was an odd sensation but the expected outcome, and one Richardson had no desire to repeat in 2024. Amid a Republican Party in an identity crisis and America in an atmosphere more polarized than it had been in decades, can Richardson cut through it all and define the nation’s course in this decade?

Other Info: Fluent in Spanish. Daughter Jessica is studying at Penn state to become a Dentist. Richardson’s mother is a Jewish 3rd generation American whose family immigrated from Eastern Europe. Richardson’s father was a 2nd generation American whose father immigrated from Sweden as a teenager. Richardson’s father died during Nate’s campaign for the Presidency of a brain aneurysm.

Welles was first elected as the Mayor of Green Bay, Wisconsin in 2015. On February 17, 2015, Welles came in second place in the non-partisan blanket primary with 42 percent of the vote to Blaine's 45 percent and Balvin's 11. While not initially in the lead, Welles emerged victorious after additional details regarding the incumbent mayor's campaign funds misappropriation came to light. Having won 50.72% of the vote, Welles became the 48th Mayor of Green Bay, Wisconsin on April 17, 2015.

James Welles also attended a number of conferences on public transportation both domestically and abroad to acquire further knowledge on the subject. As previously mentioned, the freshman mayor also put in effort to provide healthcare access to low-income individuals by opening two city-funded walk-in clinics, where patients could see a doctor free of charge and be transported to a hospital, if needed, without any additional fees. In 2016, Welles-backed bill to mandate body cameras on police officers passed and was subsequently signed into law.

As part of his community outreach program, Mayor Welles participates in various community events, most notably by celebrating the National Education and Sharing Day by helping fundraise and collect books for local school libraries.

In 2019, Welles ran for re-election winning 54% of the vote in the general election. His campaign promises included better funding for public schools and the expansion of affordable housing. As part of his promise to expand housing, Welles successfully pushed to change city regulations to allow for denser housing, especially multifamily residential buildings.

Economic crisis
Shortly after the beginning of the economic crisis, Mayor Welles began an emergency soup kitchens program and ordered a temporary moratorium on rent.

Marlon Ward protests
After the tragic death of Marlon Ward at the hands of the police, James A. Welles joined the Black Lives Matter protests and promised to ensure that the law enforcement in the city will continue to be held accountable.

2021 U.S. Senate special election in Wisconsin

Following the passing of the incumbent U.S. Senator from Wisconsin on January 10 and the scheduling of the special election for March, James A. Welles announced his intention to seek the office on January 17, 2021. So far his campaign focused on local issues, with the incumbent Mayor of Green Bay promoting his experience in municipal government as a major asset. Welles' main campaign themes are public transport, access to healthcare and fair working standards for all.

-Charismatic: In part thanks to his days as an officer in the Marines, Earl has quite a nack for public speaking. He can easily deliver off the cuff speeches and has no issues debating his opponents when needed.

-Conservative Pariah: Earl is quite popular amongst rank and file Republicans due to his documented Conservative past as well as his loyalty to President Wolf the past four years.

Main Weaknesses:
-Silver Spoon Background: There is no denying Earl was raised with a silver spoon in his mouth. Born into Tenson Oil, at no point was Earl ever at risk of not being able to afford a home payment or be on the streets. As well, being born into an oil company specifically comes at the cost of making him an easy target for environmental activists.

-Brashness-Earl has a bit of a history of saying things that get himself in trouble, with an easy example being a tasteless tweet posted after the 2015 Obergefell v Hodges ruling that was quickly deleted. He also tends to have quite a potty mouth in private, and will not hesitate to cuss out any Republicans he is becoming frustrated with in private.

Overweight-Unfortunately, Earl has not kept up with his fitness following his exit from the military, needless to say, this has made him a bit chunky.

-Closeted Anti-Wolfist: While it was no secret back in 2016 his opposition to then candidate Arnold Wolf, Earl came to fall in line with the man who had taken over the party seemingly overnight. Earl has repeatedly said things he didn't believe, voted for policies he doesn't support and generally been a loyal Wolfist in public despite his private views.

Biography: Earl Tenson was born just outside Baker Montana in 1966. His father, Joshua Tenson, was the CEO of Tenson Oil and his mother a stay at home parent. As his parent's only child, it was expected from early on that Earl would take over his father's business one day. He scored decent marks in school but found himself disinterested in the idea of serving his father's business. Earl attended the University of Montana at Missoula where he received a Bachelor's in Business. He made an agreement with his father that he would take over the business after serving in the military, attending Marine Corps Officer Candidates School in Quantico, Virginia in 1988 and commissioning as a Second Lieutenant (O-1) and an infantry platoon leader in the 2nd Marine Division. It was around this time he met his future wife Clara, who he would marry in 1993 and give birth to his son Earl Jr. in 1995.

Second Lieutenant Tenson soon found himself in the sandy desert of Saudi Arabia following the invasion of Kuwait in 1990. His promotion to First Lieutenant (O-2) came only a few weeks before the greenlight was given for Coalition troops to forcibly remove Iraqi forces from Kuwait. Tenson fought in the Battle of Kuwait International Airport, leading his platoon to secure the heavily guarded airfield. Earl continued to serve in the Marines, being promoted to Captain (O-3) in 1992 and then attending the Marine Corps War College where he received a "Master of Strategic Studies" in 1999 so he could be promoted to Major. Earl had planned to bring his service to an end in 2002 with the end of his enlistment at the time, but the September 11th attacks encouraged him to remain in service. Major (O-4) Tenson deployed to Afghanistan in 2002 where he was Second in Command to a Battalion under a Lieutenant Colonel (O-5) which he planned to become soon. However everything changed when his father passed on in 2005. Earl brought his service to an end at the rank of Major, a disappointment to himself as he had been promised a Battalion in Iraq upon promotion, but he felt it was time to uphold his commitment to his parent's.

Earl served as CEO of Tenson Oil for three years. He expected to stay there until old age but the election of President Baharia made Earl warry for the future of the fossil fuel business as well as a potential weakening of America's armed services, which Earl found unacceptable. In 2009 Earl decided to pass his business to his wife until his son was ready to take over. He officially filed for candidacy for Montana's At-Large Congressional District in the 2010 midterms, replacing the retiring Republican incumbent. Due to 2010 being a GOP wave year and Montana a red leaning state Earl was easily elected Representative.

Earl was a known opponent of the Baharia administration during his time in Congress. He mostly opposed environmental policies, gun control, abortion rights and cuts to military spending. He was especially opposed to the President's blocking of the Keystone Pipeline, which he saw as crucial to the economy of Montana. He got himself into major controversy following the 2015 Obergefell v Hodges decision, making a tweet in which he joked America had legalized "unmanliness". He also heavily opposed the signing of the Iran Nuclear Deal, which he saw as "bowing to America's enemies".

In the 2016 election, Earl initially was a supporter of (Not-Jeb Bush), but turned his support towards (Not-Ted Cruz) following his campaign's collapse down in flames. Earl firmly opposed the campaign of Arnold Wolf, who he called a threat to Democracy and "good natured politics". Following Wolf's victory in the primaries, Representative Tenson quickly fell in line behind the future President. Despite his public support, Earl heavily disagreed with Wolf's protectionist trade policies, semi-isolationist foreign policy, extreme anti-immigrant rhetoric and lack of "Christian Values"(In Private).

He agreed with Wolf's abortion views, environmental policies and "Maximum Pressure" campaign on Iran. Privately he blamed Wolf for the GOP's losses in 2018, but did not say it publicly. In 2019 he elected House Minority Whip, the second in line to House Minority Leader. Earl managed to keep many Republicans in line with the President even when he didn't agree with it.

In 2020 Tenson was much more supportive of Nate Richardson's campaign as opposed to Arnold Wolf, even if he was a bit moderate for Earl's taste. He was very happy when Richardson prevailed and the GOP retook the House of Representatives, stating that "America was defended from Socialism". He was distraught with the loss of Jon Ronson and the loss of the U.S. Senate. With the House back under GOP control, Earl found himself promoted to the House Majority Whip. Earl is now ready to whip House Republicans in line with President Richardson and Speaker (Not-McCarthy).
