Yes, but I'll change him up a bit so he runs for Senator after some point or maybe even make him a Senator for the entire duration duration he was Governor.

As you haven’t done anything significant with him you can retool him sure… but I thought he was a populist?

He's not been accepted yet, but yes, he was in the previous edition, however I feel making him a fiscal conservative will allow him to be a more effective foil for Richardson's plans. I'm still on the fence about it, but I think it's better for RP if he was a fiscal conservative as to provide some sort of Republican resistance to Richardson if he goes too far for the conservatives.

If it's early-mid April now, and the primaries for NYC and NJ are in June (idk what's happening with Virginia), do you know when some polling numbers should be out? Are you doing those for the two elections?

It has a Dem incumbent IRL and isn't as swingy as VA, so I think its probably just not as interesting. I had a Republican draft up though.

NS Nation Name: Republic of the Orion Islands
Character Name: Jack Chambers

Character Age: 53
Character Height: 6'1"
Character Weight: 183
Character Position/Role/Job: Governor of Nebraska
Appearance: Thin, short sandy haired, with a crooked bright white smile
Character State of Origin: Nebraska
Character State of Residence: Nebraska
Character Party Affiliation: Republican
Main Strengths: Wealthy, charming, connected, intelligent
Main Weaknesses: Untrustworthy, arrogant, brash and unfiltered
Biography: Jack Chambers was born to the well to do Chambers dynasty of the plains in 1967. His father was a wealthy stock and commodities broker named Harold who grew the family fortune even further when he developed an innovative brokerage house for the everyday man. Chambers grew up spending time between his father's ranch in middle Nebraska and in a home near Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The young boy lacked for nothing and received nothing but the best of private tutelage.

Chambers attended the best private boarding schools in the Midwest where he made connections with other younger sons of wealthy Midwestern scions. Some of these connections he has kept into adulthood as Jack made his own way.

At 18 Jack attended the prestigious University of Chicago studying in its world-renowned economics program. The courses and professors were quite conservative and further instilled Jack's silver spoon fed economic ideals, "trickle down" became a mantra of the young man.

After graduating high but not with honors from university, Jack went to work with his father as a economics analyst. Jack spent years in this role helping chart the family companies' expansion and major decisions. During this time Jack married the youngest daughter of a wealthy family from Chicago named Vivian and the couple would have three daughters. The business created a brokerage house concentrating on lower and middle-class Americans looking to start investing. In the 90's the business took off further by becoming one of the first houses to begin utilizing the internet. By the modern day the company has one of the most modern and user-friendly trading platforms in the country

Jack eventually grew tired in his role, clearly seeing that his older siblings would play a larger role in the main family business and decided to carve out his own niche. Jack therefore convinced his father of the economic value of professional sports and six months later in 1997 the Chambers were proud new owners of the Kansas City Royals Major League Baseball team, with Jack as the team president. Chambers attempted to rebuild the Royals by trading star players for prospects, however the prospects never became players near the level of the stars he traded. The Royals would set new team records for most losses in a single season 5 times during his tenure, the Royals never made the postseason while he was President, and they only posted one winning season. He did preside over major renovations to Kauffman Stadium. He stepped down in 2012 as president, however he retains 50% interest in the Royals to this day.

Ever since college, Jack had been interested in political economics and wanted to truly implement a trickle-down economy with cut taxes and lower spending to grow businesses and jobs. Jack now having felt independently accomplished in business and sports decided the time was right to make a run for public office.

Due to term limits the governorship was vacant and none of the state federal representatives had decided to make a run, so Jack saw his chance. Jack began pumping money into a 2014 Governor run starting at the beginning of 2013 and building up speed from there. His tactics built up quick name value and he voiced conservative social values which rang true in most parts of the red state.

Jack's main competition turned out to be the state's Attorney General but fortunately for Jack the AG's campaign nosedived when reports came out involving wide scale corruption at the state Department of Justice. Jack Chambers went on to win the primary by 15% points due to the scandal and brushed aside a poorly funded democrat in the red state by 20% points in the general election.

Inaugurated in 2014, the new governor quickly began stumping in the unicameral legislature for wide scale tax cuts and he vetoed a repeal of the death penalty to appeal to "law and order" interests. This veto was initially overridden but the Governor gained a massive statewide petition of support that raised a referendum that reinstated the death penalty. The governor had previously funded many of these senators and it came as no surprise to Jack when most of his objectives were passed through the legislature by 2015. One extremely vocal and notorious Omaha democrat opposed him at every turn, but man had little pull in the mostly red state.

Jack Chambers began to grow controversy both regionally and nationally for his outspoken opposition to the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to legalize gay marriage in 2015 followed by controversial pro-police remarks after a number of police racially motivated brutality incidents both locally in Omaha and nationally as well. The comments struck well with his rural base but hurt his approval polling overall due to the suburban moderate voters in the Omaha, Lincoln, and surrounding suburban areas. By the end of the year, Governor Chambers saw an increase in polling numbers when he was able to tout that Nebraska had produced one of the few balanced budgets in all the nation.

Governor Chambers started out 2016 laying relatively low, he passed through most laws without veto and saw little controversy in the first couple months of the year but paid close attention to the ongoing Republican presidential primary. Governor Chambers on 'Super Tuesday' made big news by becoming a vocal supporter of future president Wolf with an endorsement. Chambers pushed through a noteworthy constitutional amendment to make Hunting and fishing a state right but mostly began focusing on supporting and campaigning on behalf of Wolf.

Wolf won and Chambers stuck around Nebraska with no promotion in sight. Whether his support was ever appreciated was unknown, but Chambers didn't seem to let on if he minded. Governor Chambers began campaigning in mid 2017 and pushed through another balanced budget and key agricultural subsidies which he pointed to as his platform highlights.

In the 2018 election, Governor Chambers won re-election with 58% of the votes, a lower margin due to the alienation of some suburban voters, but still quite comfortable. The Governor then went back to the balancing of the budget, at the expense to education and infrastructure some complain, and stumped on the campaign trail for a number of local favorites running for federal offices.

In 2019 the Governor, coming to the end of his tenure in Lincoln and prevented by term limits from running in 2022 he entered the race for the Republican nomination for President. He started out strong in the Midwest, putting together a strong second in Iowa, however his campaign imploded after a controversial speech where he compared Wolf's trade policy to chemotherapy. The remark angered many due to its insensitivity and his opponents quickly seized upon the remark as evidence he was pro-China. He finished dead last in South Carolina, and he dropped out to endorse Richardson. He spent the rest of 2020 working on relief for Nebraska, using surplus monies to provide tax credits and loans for small businesses and insurance companies.
With his term nearing its end, Chambers plans to go out with a bang, however his future is undecided.

Political Positions
Guns: NRA A+ rated, passed through state constitutional right to hunt and fish, opposes universal background checks and assault weapons bans

Social Views: Supports christian values and opposed gay marriage legalization, saying it was a state's choice. Supports private business personal service rights. Law and order candidate who brought back the death penalty and opposed body cameras and internal police sensitivity training and investigations. Pro-Life, Catholic

Economics: touts ability to balance budget and 'true' adherence to Reaganomics, tax cuts for wealthy and loopholes for corporations and other entities, eliminated state death tax. Supports fracking and harvesting of oil and natural gas. Opposes tariffs on China because of the harm to agriculture in the state, wants federal subsidies for crops.

Character Application and Information Sheet

NS Nation Name: Langenia
Character Name: Jose Alexander Alvarado
Character Gender: Male
Character Age: 49
Character Height: 5'9
Character Weight: 183 pounds
Character Position/Role/Job: US Representative from the 25th California congressional district, Mayor of Santa Clarita (formerly), lawyer
Character Country/State of Birth: California
Character State of Residence: California
Character Party Affiliation: Republican Party
Main Strengths: Able to remain calm and collected under pressure, able to accept compromises that appease both sides, good in uniting support for a cause from others, strong support from conservative groups within his district
Main Weaknesses: Although he does not show it in public, he has a temper and sense of pride that can lead to him perceiving anything as an insult, can be vengeful, stubborn, unclear on political positions if his views can be seen as controversial, and not averse to making controversial comments as demonstrated in an incident where he criticized the legalization of same-sex marriage and generated controversy in progressive Los Angeles County.
Biography: (Minimum 2-3 paragraphs)

Jose Alexander Alvarado was born on March 21st, 1972 to Salvadoran immigrant parents in the city of Los Angeles, California. His parents had moved from the tiny Central American nation to the United States in order to find work in the country. His father, a surgeon by profession, came from the department of San Miguel to the capital San Salvador while his mother hailed from the capital. At the age of three his parents sent him to live with his grandmother, a teacher in San Salvador, to learn Spanish. He returned to the United States at the age of 9 to finish elementary school due to his parents' concern over the worsening civil war in El Salvador. His family soon moved out of the Los Angeles city limits to the town of Burbank in the San Fernando Valley to escape growing gang violence. He graduated from high school in 1990 with high marks and received offers to attend multiple universities. He accepted an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy from 1990 to 1994, majoring in legal studies. After this, he became a student at Harvard University's law school and graduated with a JD law degree in 1997. At Harvard Law School Alvarado also happened to meet a fellow law student named Elizabeth. Following his graduation from Harvard Law School he was commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force. He proposed to his girlfriend Elizabeth upon graduation, and the two were later married at the turn of the century in 2000.

Alvarado attended undergraduate pilot training at Laughlin Air Force Base in Texas and earned his wings in 1998. He learned to fly the F-16 Fighting Falcon at Luke Air Force Base and was stationed at Shaw Air Force Base. He made his first overseas deployment in support of the 2003 invasion of Iraq, Operation Iraqi Freedom. Over the course of his active-duty service he was also stationed at Kunsan Air Base in South Korea and Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany. Later, he made another deployment at the height of the Iraqi insurgency. After serving a decade in active-duty service, he transferred to the reserves in 2008 and moved with his family to Santa Clarita in Los Angeles County, close to where he grew up. He and his wife obtained jobs as lawyers in a firm in Los Angeles, and Alvarado launched his political career by participating in municipal and county politics and joining the Republican Party. He made one more overseas deployment, to Afghanistan, in 2010, and finally transferred to the California Air National Guard, where he would spend the rest of his military career before retiring in 2014.

Eventually, he rose to become a prominent figure within local politics in the 25th California congressional district, becoming one of the leaders of Republican resistance in the Democratic-dominated Los Angeles County and serving a term as mayor of Santa Clarita. After the legalization of same-sex marriage in the United States he made a series of statements strongly criticizing it, coming under scrutiny in the largely progressive Los Angeles County. Although the incident was largely forgotten, it was an example of the fact that Alvarado was not averse to making controversial comments. Also around this time, Alvarado, along with his wife Elizabeth, founded a law firm and real estate business based out of Los Angeles. He set his sights on becoming the representative for the 25th congressional district, building up his power base in the area. He became affiliated with people and community leaders in the district and used funds from his business to support those communities in need in the area, doing these things not just in Los Angeles County but in all areas that comprised the 25th district. Alvarado steadily increased his base among local conservative voters, indicating his support for rightist policies like pro-life, increased defense spending, supporting the police, curbing immigration, and lower taxes. Notably, however, he appeased more leftist voters through his support for a traditionally leftist issue: that of legislation to stop climate change in its tracks. By 2020, he decided he had all parts of his plan ready and successfully ran for representative of the 25th district, joining the ranks of those on Capitol Hill.

Other Info:
Abortion: opposes abortion and sees it as immoral and wrong, approving of legislation that would virtually ban it.

Defense: approves of greater defense spending, praising defense contractors and advocating against budget cuts for the armed forces.

Immigration: believes in curbing immigration to an extent, approves of only accepting a certain quota of immigrants based on their merits.

Climate change: approves of legislation that would limit the issue of climate change and pollution before it gets out of hand.

Term limits: Alvarado supports term limits.

LGBT rights: position unclear, however he has made controversial comments in the past indicating opposition to same-sex marriage. Thus, it can be assumed that he is privately opposed to same-sex marriage.

Police reform: Alvarado portrayed himself as "the law and order candidate" while running for 25th California congressional district representative, opposing more radical police reform measures supported by his leftist opponents, however he does approve of better training for police officers.

Neoconservatism: Alvarado's foreign policy views center around him approving of an active US presence abroad, opposing withdrawals of US troops from foreign nations and confronting adversaries. Alvarado is critical of non-interventionism and at the same time he believes in maintaining strong alliances with US allies.

Tax reform: Alvarado supports lower taxes, saying that "money benefits the people the most when they have access to it in their bank accounts instead of it being in the hands of the government."

Gun policy: Alvarado opposes limits on gun sales to "law-abiding citizens," adding that they can be necessary for self-defense. Despite this, he supports some gun control legislation, like stricter background checks, red flag laws, and assault weapons bans in order to prevent gun violence.

US-China trade war: Alvarado believes that the best way to resolve the trade war is by reducing trade and imports from China and instead bringing back jobs to the US.

Haha, I guess something along the lines of "working for bipartisanship" though I'm not sure Sal would be able to publicly appreciate it too much in heavy liberal NYC...

After a month, I return with a modified app. Thanks for taking the time to look over this, and as usual please don't hesitate to give me constructive criticism to improve me app. :)

I am not a mod, but I have three things: the first is that, generally, the mods look down on non-white Republicans in this RP, because there is an insane overabundance of them. It's definitely not a dealbreaker, but if his race isn't the biggest factor, I'd recommend switching it.

Number two is that his district is very very moderate — he seems like he's a little too Republican for it. R+3 is nothing. That's a tossup district. CA-25 voted for Biden IRL last year. It's still pretty close to LA and has a lot of Angelinos, it's sort of unlikely that you could appease them with just green energy. Especially if he was homophobic. That wouldn't really fly. The anti-immigration, pro-police, pro-defense stuff is good (especially next to the Air Force base) but I'd get rid of pro-abortion and think long and hard about how much you want to pursue the low taxes thing. LA isn't known for low taxes. Alternatively, you could move him somewhere more conservative like CA-8 (R+8) in the desert or McCarthy's district, CA-23 (R+12) which is pretty near CA-25 but significantly more conservative. It's up to you though.

The last one is that you definitely need a new character model. Mods don't let you use a same character model in the same state, I'm pretty sure, much less in the same district.

Hope these help!

Biography:

Born on September 10, 1972, Ana's father died from an accident the day after her birth. Her mother's second husband, Ray Steele, is the man Ana considers her "real" father. Ana lived with her mother, Carla Wilks, in Las Vegas during her mother's third marriage. Ana eventually moved back to Montesano to live with her stepfather Ray who taught her several practical skills, including self-defense and gun safety. Growing up in Vancouver, Annabelle was quite apathetic towards politics as none of her family were involved in the scene.

Anabelle went to Washington State University to pursue a degree in British Literature and was studious, maintaining a 4.0 GPA in college. After graduation, she worked for Seattle Independent Publishing. She worked her way up in SIP and ended up heading the entire company, increasing the company's profitability by branching out into e-books. A few weeks before graduation Annabelle met her future husband (not Christian Grey) - Catholic Black when she went to interview him for an article for the school's paper.
Catholic Black is a business magnate who has a foothold in many industries including real estate, manufacturing, and a minor stake in Boeing.

It was through these means that after giving birth to two children, Annabelle began networking in the Seattle business community. In 2007, Annabelle was elected Seattle's first at-large city council seat. During her first term, Annabelle authored and led the passage of the expansion of Sound Seattle Transit, improving traffic congestion within the city center. She was also a proponent of waste management reform, she authored an ordinance that would allocate funds to educating the public on garbage reduction, but was unsuccessful. In 2009, Annabelle was elected the President of Seattle's City Council and was able to influence much of the Council's agenda.

In 2012, after opponents of Washington's same-sex marriage bill successfully delayed implementation by initiating a ballot initiative, Annabelle Steal publicly endorsed the legislation. Her office in the city began actively campaigning on behalf of the marriage equality front. Making a speech just two weeks before the vote, Steal said, "The time has come to bring equality to Washington. Just two hours away in Canada our brothers and sisters don't have to worry about the gender of their partner, lets bring Washington into the 21st century." Just days after the passage of the law, Annabelle Steal was seen officiating the wedding of a same-sex couple on the steps of the State Capitol.

During the same time as her ballot initiative campaign, Annabelle successfully won the blanket primary for the 7th District. Because of the safe characterization of the district, Annabelle did not spend much time campaigning for the general election. The residents knew that Annabelle was focusing on same-sex marriage legalization but was still resentful of her apathy. Camilla Juarez, the candidate who had come second to Annabelle in the blanket primary then decided to launch her campaign with the message "I pay attention." It wasn't until the last few weeks of the race when Annabelle commissioned a poll that she realized that Camilla was within a margin of error and could win the race. Annabelle began touting her same-sex marriage position to drum up support but along the way had many gaffes herself. She tried to align herself with the marriage initiative that was likely to pass, to compensate for her not paying close attention to the race.

On election day, the Republican candidate received 47% of the vote to Annabelle's 53% - in a district that voted at most 20% GOP. Annabelle in her victory speech apologized for her behavior and vowed to never take the voters of the 7th district for granted again.

She supports universal health care and co-sponsored the Expanded and Improved Medicare For All Act. During Wolf's inauguration, Steal met with constituents in her congressional district instead of attending the ceremony. The Nation called her "a leader of the resistance," quoting Minority Leader (not - Nancy Pelosi) calling Steal "a rising star in the Democratic caucus."

After two terms in the House, Steal decided to run for United States Senate. During the election campaign, Annabelle promised to vote in favor of the $15 per hour minimum wage, keep Washington's park clean and pristine, and pass Medicare for All. In the blanket primary, she received 54% of the vote and in the general won with 58% of the vote.

In February 2019, she sponsored and introduced the Medicare for All Act of 2019

Other Info: Survivor of attempted sexual assault, will support more punitive punishments and prevention measures of assault legislation.

We can debate legislation but systemic racism exists! Would someone make a joke about how you could be blindfolded with floss?

Still figuring out the nooks and crannies but yes I'm your resident social liberal :)

Btw, just a thought, but if any Virginian Republicans want a Californian congresswoman to campaign on behalf of them, ring Chen, she spends half her time in DC anyway. I'm sure she wouldn't mind driving down into Alexandria for a few suburb stops.
