Character Application and Information Sheet

NS Nation Name: Vaquas

Character Name: Christopher Duncan Jr.

Character Gender: Male

Character Age: 30

Character Height: 6’3

Character Weight: 164 lbs

Character Position/Role/Job: Candidate in Wisconsin’s Special Senate Election (2021)
Republican Candidate in Wisconsin’s 2nd Congressional District (2020)
White House Deputy Communications Director (2018 - 2019)

Character Country/State of Birth: Wisconsin

Character State of Residence: Wisconsin

Character Party Affiliation: Republican Party

Main Strengths: Conservative media background and wolf administration cred, significant warchest gathered via 2020 grift run for congress and family money.

Main Weaknesses: History of controversial statements, sexual assault accusations, and a dropped domestic violence charge. Silver spoon background.

Biography: The son of Christopher Duncan Sr., a wealthy and prominent agribusinessman, and Emma Scheuster, the heiress to a moderately successful midwestern hotel chain, Christopher Duncan Jr. was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on October 14, 1990. The youngest of 4 brothers, he would perform averagely in school without much of note occurring during his adolescence, though he would involve himself in various extracurriculars and serve as President of his private high school’s teenage republicans club. Despite his lackluster record, he would be accepted into his father’s alma mater, Dartmouth, where he would complete a bachelor's degree in political science.

In 2012 he would involve himself in the Presidential campaign of [Not Rick Santorum] and serve as the former senator’s head of youth outreach. Upon Ron Mitter’s nomination and [Not Santorum]’s defeat, Chris would secure a position among Mitter’s staff in a similar capacity, making connections with Republican operatives that would serve him well in the years to come in spite of the campaign’s failure.

In 2013, Duncan would begin writing in various conservative publications and presenting himself as the voice of “new millennial conservatism”, attacking democrats for taking the youth vote for granted and encouraging college students to challenge “marxist brainwashing” that he asserted was taking place on campuses. In early 2015, he would accept a full time position at the National Review thanks to a former Mitter staffer, where he would write a number of articles attacking various actors on the left for everything from abortion advocacy to pushes for higher taxes, condemning the “Clifford Democrats” as being “Morally bankrupt and spiritually insecure” in one particularly strong article condeming comments made regarding abortion by the likely democratic candiate. It was around this time that Arnolf Wolf announced his candidacy for President.

Enamored by the candidate’s charisma and bombastic personality, Christopher cast aside his moral hesitations and penned a full throated endorsement of Wolf in the pages of the National Review, drawing significant criticism from more long time fixtures of the magazine and nearly getting himself fired after a public disagreement with senior writers at a public forum. Nonetheless, his early support for the candidate would come in handy as the Mainer picked up steam, with the Wolf campaign taking notice of the early support and bringing him on board as an advisor for youth and college outreach shortly before the Iowa caucus. Christopher was praised for his work on the ground in New Hampshire activating what support existed for his candidate in college towns, and soon after the victory there he began to develop a personal friendship with the much older Wolf. Christopher would stay on throughout the entirety of the campaign, and after an electoral college win that privately shocked him, he would move to Washington with the administration.

Despite his loyalty and the personal relationship between the two men, Wolf did not see fit to appoint Christopher to any of his choice roles, instead relegating him to various small positions within the West Wing for some time, which caused great distress. Ultimately, however, Chris would get his break in mid-2018, when the White House Press Secretary was let go, causing a complete reshuffle of the comms staff which resulted in his appointment as Deputy Communications Director. According to two books written during the Wolf Presidency, he would make a number of controversial statements about immigrants and BLM activists during his tenure, allegedly referring to Mexican migrants as “leeches” and supporting a “big ass electric fence” on the border in addition to calling Black Lives Matter activists “half-braindead sheep”. He would also allegedly make inappropriate comments about a member of the Fillipino President’s staff during a state visit, saying that she “looked like she’d give a good massage”. Despite calls from some in the press for him to resign in light of these revelations, Duncan would not publicly address the comments and President Wolf would slam the books as “liberal science fiction”.

Duncan would serve in this capacity until December 15, 2019, when he was unceremoniously fired following the ascension of Richard Tawney to the Presidency. Angered by his dismissal and the early end of the Wolf experiment, Christopher would return to Wisconsin, hastily and against the advice of advisors launching a campaign for Wisconsin’s 2nd Congressional District under a mantle quite unlike his prior public persona. The campaign, which began with a viral ad showing Duncan firing at pictures of Democratic agenda items such as the “Green New Deal” with a rifle and saying “lets blow a hole through democratic bullshit”, became flooded with cash from clueless out of state donors despite the near impossibility of a win in the district. Duncan would pull multiple stunts throughout the campaign that raised his profile, and though he would win the primary handily, he would be crushed in the general election by a significant margin.

Now, with a special election for the Senate unexpectedly unfolding on short notice, Duncan has thrown his hat into the ring and abandoned his plans for a 2022 Gubernatorial run. Running on “America First Populism”, he has cited “law and order” and the growing economic crisis as the two largest problems facing America. Duncan holds a number of documented socially conservative positions and has promised to serve as a “patriotic constitutionalist” if elected to the United States Senate.

Other Info: Has been accused of sexual assault 3 times, once in college and twice in his capacity as the Deputy White House Comms director, has denied all 3 incidents. Domestic violence charge from a live-in girlfriend in 2013 was dropped due to lack of evidence. Married former Wolf staffer Diana Rustin shortly following his congressional loss.

I have read and accept the rules of the roleplay: Vaquas has indeed done that.

Why was he fired?

He was basically only tolerated in the position because of his friendship with Wolf, there was no reason for the Tawney Admin to keep him around.

Ah, okay. In the meantime, I've edited my application for Sofia a bit, so I'm moving it into spoilers for simplicities' sake.

Character Application and Information Sheet

NS Nation Name: Meretica
Character Name: Sofia Martinez
Character Gender: Female
Character Age: 39 (January 3, 1982)
Character Height: 5'4
Character Weight: 143 lbs
Character Position/Role/Job: Congresswoman from Texas's 23rd District (2012-Present); Journalist (2003-2011); Podcaster (2007-Present)
Character Country/State of Birth: Odessa, Texas, USA
Character State of Residence: San Antonio, Texas
Character Party Affiliation: Republican Party
Main Strengths and Weaknesses:
Being a younger female Latina helps Martinez contrast the GOP's image of belonging to old white men but turns off the old white men that typically vote Republican. She is well-known for her articles published across Texas and the Southwest calling for more conservative reforms on immigration, healthcare, and foreign policy. She is a moderate Republican, very reminiscent of the real-life Mitt Romney, and this is both helpful and harmful on certain issues. She is typically on board with the establishment but has recently become uncomfortable with the way that the GOP is heading. She is not particularly seen as heinous or controversial by any faction of the GOP, though some Democrats occasionally refer to her as "Satan's Wife" due to her full-throated endorsements of Presidents Wolf and Richardson.

Biography: Sofia Martinez was born in January 1982 to a third-generation Mexican-American family living in Odessa, Texas. The only girl in a group of four children, Sofia was determined to get herself out of Odessa or die trying. She was raised as a devout Christian and worked part-time in her parents' chain of bookstores for several years until she joined a newspaper staff in high school. Shortly after starting her senior year, she also applied to join the debate club and quickly became known as a passionate, skilled speaker for what she believed was the right thing to do. Sofia was baptized in 1999.

In that same year, Sofia began attending a community college thanks to state scholarships and money she had saved up from her younger years. She majored in journalism and minored in political science. Shortly after graduating in 2003, she began working with the San Antonio Express Newspaper as a columnist and political analyst. In 2005, she married fellow journalist Louis Edison; he changed his name to Louis Martinez as she had asked him to marry her. Sofia has run a podcast about her life and state politics that has typically added a new episode once every two weeks since 2007; she has only missed a deadline thrice, and all were during hospital visits. Her first failure occurred in 2008 when she was in a horrible car accident. The second and third took place when her mother took badly ill and needed constant care; Sofia spent 29 days helping to care for her mother.

In 2011, the Texas State GOP asked Sofia to run for Congress. She readily accepted and, rather than host a rally to announce her bid, she first shared it on her podcast, wrote an editorial for the SAE, and then hosted a rally to build her platform. Sofia had roughly one million listeners, around 750,000 of whom were from Texas; thus, this helped lift her have enough name recognition to win the primary against the Tea Party candidate. In the general election, Sofia won a surprising victory against her Democratic challenger. Thanks to grassroots and local support, she has been reelected by several points each cycle since 2012. In 2018 and 2020, she has been primaried by more radical (and, in 2020, very racist) candidates but solidly held on to at least 55% each time. The closest that she came to being tossed out the window was in 2018-- which was also the year she came closest to losing reelection. In 2018, she held onto 55.1% of the vote in the GOP primary, winning 50.2% of the vote in the general election. In 2020, her primary challenger was a known neo-Nazi and KKK member, Angus MacGregor. MacGregor won 41.5% of the popular vote when he primaried Sofia; in the general election, she won a steady 56% of the vote. MacGregor reportedly voted for himself because he could not "bear to see the sight of that illegal in office any longer." He was shortly after banned from attending district party meetings by GOP leaders.

In 2016, Sofia was an early endorser of future President Wolf, closely aligning with several of his policies. Likewise, she was among the first to endorse future President Richardson in 2020. However, she criticized the selection of Laura Dunn as Vice President; some pundits speculated that she was hoping to be selected (which would have been the first southern GOP ticket in history). Sofia denies that she wanted the position, but she notes that Dunn "would not have been [her] first pick" with such a "great catch of candidates to choose from."

In recent weeks, Sofia's podcast has been more broadly focused on policy, meetings with voters, and working with local officials to find solutions to various problems, economic and otherwise. On more than one occasion, pundits have speculated that she may leave the Republican Party to become a Libertarian, independent, or Constitutionalist; she has made no known response to these claims. Privately, she and her husband have discussed her political future and agreed that if the GOP does not return to being the party of Regan, (Romney), and (McCain), she will start campaigning as an independent. Her podcast, entitled "My Dearest Texas," has grown to have around fifteen million listeners since she was first elected to Congress.

Sofia has advocated for lowering taxes on the poor, strengthening farming subsidies, and anti-crime initiatives. She has also spoken strongly in favor of combating the opioid epidemic, climate change, and illegal immigration. Though she is personally pro-life, Sofia has been relatively moderate on abortion, saying that "no two cases are alike" and that there are "too many variables to consider" for it to be a yes or no issue. Sofia has worked across the aisle for certain gun rights policies, such as restrictions on background checks, bump stocks, and large-capacity magazines. She also condemns people that attempt to politicize shootings of any kind, Democrat or Republican. Sofia opposes the death penalty, is neutral on gay rights, and is on the record as supporting the return of the pension. She opposed No Child Left Behind, claiming (correctly) that it was a disastrous plan that would do more harm than good. Sofia opposes affirmative action but believes that racism is still an issue in America; however, she supports taking the socioeconomic statuses of students into account. She has also opposed the creation of a school vouchers program and instead believes that resources should be pooled together to form charter schools nationwide. "I believe that this will help provide school systems with more teachers, raise the wages of those teachers, and best educate the children that the teachers are there to work with." Sofia is also an interventionist regarding foreign policy.

Biography:

Serah Kurian was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin on June 21st, 1976 to Nisha and Isaac Kurian, an educated Indian Christian couple that immigrated to Wisconsin from Kerala, India. Soon She was born, her father, educated as an engineer, would relocate the family to Virginia, where her father accepted a very well paying job in marine engineering. She'd grow up both very privileged and assured in her intelligence. Serah, despite being an excellent student, would frequently get into conflicts with peers, though she'd usually come out ahead. She would, however, develop an internal feelings of insecurity and emptiness, usually quenched by praise from others. Originally. she intended to simply follow in her father's foot steps by pursuing a career in STEM, graduating with high honors in biological sciences. However, during her studies, she'd get baptized and adopt a strong evangelical Christian faith, which would be followed by feeling a calling to serve her country through the military and then politics.

As such, after graduating she joined the Air Force Reserve, being among the air force's first drone pilots, even as she worked for as a independent contractor in the aerospace engineer field outside of reserve duties. Her political career had began in 1999 with her joining the reform party to help (non-Buchanan) win the nomination of the party for the 2000 election. In state level politics she considered running as a reform candidate as a challenge against the republican in the uncontested Wisconsin 2nd state assembly seat, in 2002, but came to an agreement to an agreement with him that he'd run for the state senate seat and she'd get his support, as a Republican, in the assembly seat. So in 2004 she joined the Republican party and won the seat. During her tenure in office, she was a vocally conservative republican, insisting, that she was in fact, the most conservative of her caucus, despite being notably personable with democrats.

By 2010, she had begun aligning with the TEA party movement and primaried the state senator she had once made a deal with from his right and took his seat, taking advantage of low moderate turnout. It was at this point she was recognized nationally by the more conservative elements of the republican party as a rising star and would end up marrying a D.C. Lobbyist just before the primary season for 2012 began, though she'd keep her name. She'd run in brutal primary against her republican opponent, with both campaigns insinuating the homosexuality of the other, but Sereh would come out ahead ahead in the 2012 election. She's been a loyal republican partisan, since her only deviations being on childcare and family targeted welfare and benefit programs. She does however, take every opportunity she can to speak to the media and speak at events to raise her profile. Her political ambitions, obviously, are not limited to the house. She's wanted to run for the senate, in the hopes it could position her to one day be on a presidential ticket, but hasn't had any opportunities to do so without having to challenge an incumbent. With the passing of Jon Ronson, she's been given an excellent opportunity to slip into the senate, and has declared her intention to run for the seat.

Biography: Born to a lower middle class family in Atlanta, Georgia. Always being a curious and heavily opinionated student, he'd take up debating in high school, which, along side his strong grades, would win him a scholarship to the University of Pennsylvania for pre-law politics and economics. It was during his high school debate days, in regional competitions, that he'd first come to know his future wife, Irma Caballero, daughter of famous Cuban Defector Boxer Manuel Caballero. While each year he'd attempt to ask for a date, Irma would brush him off with an expletive or two. They'd end up meeting again in a national university debating competition in 2001, with both in their second year, in which Irma would relent and accept a date. Discovering an alignment in goals and beliefs, they quickly built a romance, with the intention of marrying after both had finished their undergraduate degrees. In the mean time, both with regularly communicate over email and visit each other as much as they feasibly could, with Irma taking up a job as a flight attendant to better facilitate travel opportunities. As planned, when both graduated in 2003, they'd marry, moving into a house in a San Jose Suburb. During this time, Irvin would go to law school at Stanford, Irma's now alma mater, while Irma remained employed as a Flight Attendant and simultaneously aggressively worked her way up the ranks of her union, the AFA-CWA. During this time, Irvin was very active in establishing connections in San Jose municipal politics, silicon valley tech companies and national organizations. After his graduation, he'd find a job as a San Jose law firm that specialized in facilitating Tech companies interactions with the municipal government and enlist in the Naval Reserve, becoming an intelligence officer.

In 2011, he'd end up running for and winning, The Mayoralship of San Jose, receiving strong financial backing from industry leaders looking to put a fresh, diverse face to much of their tech industry friendly agenda, though he managed to balance his over reliance on them with his wife's growing position within the labor movement directing a significant amount of support his way. In office, he was most notable for his deployment of what would come to be known as the 'Santa Clara model' in managing the city finances. Since his time at Stanford, he'd been working with business, community and labor groups to track how much of city and country spending cycled back into tax revenue, particularly when it came to procurement. Through this work, a system was developed that adjusted potentially higher costs of procuring goods and services locally, with the amount of tax revenue that'd be returned to both the city and county for doing so. In summary, the aim was ensuring that a buy local tact was taken by the San Jose government where economically feasible, combined with efforts to establish reciprocal purchasing agreements with fellow municipalities in Santa Clara where doing so would be mutually beneficial for county finances. This would be combined with property tax and social service adjustments that'd always be accompanied with tax incentives for San Jose firms and individuals to buy locally. By promoting these policies along side environmental policies, a functionally 'fiscally conservative' effort to tackle San Jose's debt could be promoted as a progressive agenda. It was also during this period that wrote a book tackling the necessity of reestablishing a sufficient manufacturing chain in the United States for the purpose of enduring both climate change and the possibility of a great power conflict with China. Building an image as a progressive mayor, while also being largely successful at avoiding stepping on the toes of neither public sector unions or silicon valley benefactors, gave him space to make a run for lieutenant governor, a position he was able to win without much difficulty. His Run for lieutenant governor also helped him avoid having to address specifics on a police reform agenda that he launched an exploration into in late summer of 2014.

His role as lieutenant governor, would be to essentially research and promote the application of the 'Santa Clara Model' to the whole of the state's finances. From this position, however while still being a 'triangulating' politician, the anchor point of his triangulation would shift decisively left. To begin with, soon after reaching the governorship, he signaled support for single-payer healthcare as a means of saving the state of California as an economy, money and preventing money unnecessarily leaving the state. Then, when the (not-Sanders) Campaign gained momentum in the second half of 2015, he provided a somewhat low-key endorsement of (their) platform. Ultimately, however, he was unconvinced of the feasibility of the (not-sanders) campaign largely due to the fact that it begun like a protest campaign rather than a campaign to win. By the National convention, however, he was given an opportunity to speak, with the view that he'd be able to convince (not-Sanders) supporters to stay with the party. He gave a speech where he outlined the ways that he saw that elements of the (not-Sanders) would be beneficial to the nations' competitiveness in the 21st century, with a more memorable portion concluding with "If that's what Democratic Socialism is, sign me up", though he was nonetheless careful to ensure that he got across the importance of rallying (not-Sanders) supporters behind the nominee, but by this time he had serious doubts about the strength of (their) campaign.

After the 2016 primaries, Irvin, with the added credibility of his wife having recently been elected as VP of the AFA-CWA, was able to pull significant chunks of the best talent behind the (not-sanders) campaign into his political orbit, if not directly working for him, working for allies in the California State legislature and friendly county democratic parties. In the immediate aftermath of the 2016 election, he was ready to present a narrative that insisted the importance of a developing an agenda that pursued 'populist' ends, through 'technocratic' means. By the start of 2017 he was gearing up for a run at Governorship to come after a term-limited governor. By this time, he'd lost chunks, but certainly not all, of his tech industry backers, notably, those with interests in the 'platform economy' disproportionately remained stead fast. With most, though not all, of the California Democratic Party establishment now arrayed against him in the 2018 race, he faced an uphill battle and two strong opposing campaigns representing the (not-clinton) and (not-obama) wings of the party who, alongside typical attacks, sought to demobilize his left wing support by making constant reference to his past as a corporate lawyer and deriding him as an opportunistic careerist. As a consequence, despite securing a spot in the general election, in the 'jungle' primary, Irvin would end up finishing second to the republican candidate. The progressive caucus in the state race would also see minimal gains in primaries and a significant number of progressive figures across the country would grow see his campaign as a talent and money sink that limited progressive gains in democratic primaries across the country at the federal level, though his supporters contest this interpretation. The measure of progressive disillusionment was compounded by his running a general election campaign that struck a surprisingly moderate tone, that which strictly unnecessary to win given that massive democratic advantage in California, was adopted as part of a truce with the party establishment.

In alignment with the partisan advantage in California, Irvin was also able to ride the 2018 blue wave to a very strong electoral victory in a high turn out election, including the best result for a Democratic gubernatorial candidate in Orange County since 1978, at roughly 48%, along with becoming the first African-American Governor of California. The first part of 2019 was spent implementing a budget that included many of his recommendations as Lieutenant Governor, with the notable absence of the single payer healthcare program he'd been campaigning on since the end of 2015, in an apparent compromise with centrists in the California democratic party. In general, due to having connections that indicated that (not-Sanders) would make a second run at the presidency, Irvin figured he could buy back progressive disappointment by providing (not-Sanders) an endorsement at a later date, freeing him up for more centrist governance in the mean time. However, the partial collapse of the health insurance industry in 2019 gave him the space he needed to come back around on health care, opening with a proposal for single payer and successfully being able to negotiate a public option that included the bailout and purchase of a network of hospitals and clinics across California, including winning the right to suggest that this was functionally a 'pilot program' for single payer.

Prudence in procurement and healthcare wouldn't be the only thing addressed in Irvin's first budget, to deal with the homelessness crisis, Irvin aggressively pursued policies to improve density and ensure the municipalities zoned effectively, implementing a whole swath of reforms that aligned with the interests of developers in California. Reflecting an inclination that was present in his time as mayor of San Jose, he showed little interests in addressing the consequences of gentrification beyond it's economic effects on existing residents, largely ignoring lobbies that made complaints about how the 'character' of neighborhoods would change, focusing almost solely on ensuring that existing residents wouldn't be priced out, or would be at very least be compensated. As a rule, Irvin's policy concerns were centered almost entirely on numbers, statistics and results, 'flourish is for speeches', he'd regularly say. This would also be reflected in his staunch opposition to expanded rent controls, actively working to replace existing rent subsidies and controls with a 'universal housing voucher' that tracks average rents and creates a discount on rent or a rebate from it to encourage shopping for lower rents and avoid subsidizing increases. as of the 2019 budget, this program has seen only partial implementation. He's also been a strong proponent of California High-Speed Rail, but with health care being the focus of his first year in office, extra support would be limited. Despite governing, toward the center, Irvin was fully willing to put his weight behind a takeover of the California Democratic Party by it's progressive wing, pushing a former endorser of (not-clinton) but currently progressive aligned candidate for the chair over the line.

When it came to question of the 2020 presidential campaign, he kept his cards close to his chest. With the progressive wing split between the campaigns of (not-Warren) and (not-Sanders), Irvin delayed picking a side, not minding the possibility that a split convention that could potentially allow him to 'parachute' in as a compromise candidate. Along with applauding the popularization of a 'universal basic income', his main input was a strong belief that the progressive wing would be best served by unifying behind a singular candidate some time soon after Iowa and New Hampshire. In the meanwhile Irvin's main concern was using the alignment of the presidential primary with the state assembly primaries and the increased turnout of interested progressives it'd bring to vastly strengthen the size of the progressive caucus in the California state legislature . To that end, he was able to secure endorsements from both the (not-Sanders) and (not-Warren) campaign for progressive challengers to centrists, alongside piggy backing on both candidates' operations in California.

With (not-Sanders) doing significantly better than (not-Warren) in both Iowa and New Hampshire, his people begun softly pressuring the (not-Warren) campaign to unite and align behind (not-Sanders), while also leaning on progressive organizations to aid (no-Sanders) in Nevada in the hope that a blow out win there would serve to finally push (not-Warren) out of the race. With a win still not forcing (not-Warren) out and increasing signs that plus an endorsement from Irvin would be insufficient to put (not-Sanders) close to a victory in South Carolina, Irvin decided he'd avoid the embarrassment and simply endorse (not-Sanders) after the South Carolina Primary. In the immediate aftermath of the (not-Sanders) defeat in the South Carolina Primary, Irvin, along with a swath of allies and prospective allies in the California, officially endorsed the (not-Sanders) campaign, while desperately, to no avail, trying to get (not-Warren) to drop out behind the scenes in exchange for a Cabinet and/or VP nod. (not-Warren) would ultimately stay in until after super Tuesday despite these efforts.

Come Super Tuesday, (not-Sanders), while getting routed more or less everywhere else, would secure a blow out win in California, something Irvin's progressive supporters would continue to insist could not have happened without him. More importantly for Irvin, this primary would see the decisive victory of the progressive wing for control over the democratic caucus in the state. When asked if he had concerns that the caucus could be leaning too far left, Irvin insisted that "In our system, it's easier to pump the brakes than pump the pedals." However despite this victory in California, it was becoming increasingly clear that not only would the (not-Sanders) campaign be able to do well enough to win the primary outright, the possibility of a brokered convention started to disappear to. At this point, Irvin had no interest in tying himself too closely to a sinking campaign, increasingly shifting his rhetoric towards how much Diehl's rhetoric and proposals had shifted in response to the 'strength' of the (not-Sanders) campaign. With Diehl's victory imminent, Irvin began lobbying for Karris to be picked by Diehl, hoping to scoop her out of the senate seat, either to consult with the 'California Democratic Party and end up placing his wife in the seat, as the first Hispanic senator, or an old stateswoman on the understanding that they wouldn't run for re-election in 2022.

Unfortunately, despite helping getting Karris the VP nod, his effort to open up the seat simply didn't come to fruition due to Diehl's loss in the general election. However despite the national loss, the 2020 election lead to the completion (though, in the senate, to a lesser extent) of his 7 year project to shift the California Democratic Party left enough that he'd have to pump the brakes in it's agenda instead of pump the pedals. Now, he'd have a lot more space to carry out the full breadth of his agenda and position himself as the de-facto leader of opposition against the Richardson administration. Naturally, this would be for the purpose of winning a second term as governor of California, but ultimately, his eyes remained fixed to the aim of winning the presidency in 2024.

Biography:

On August 5th, 1981, Irma was born the fourth child and only daughter to Isabella and Manuel Caballero. Her mother, a sharp confident woman that worked as a flight attendant and her father, a famous Cuban Boxer who defected to the united states primarily to build a career in professional boxing in the United States. Growing up with three older brothers, she always felt pressure to be smarter and more assertive to be noticed. By middle school and particularly in high school, this lead her to succeed in academics as well as become the captain of her school debate team. But debating wasn't her only competitive pursuit, at first to the chagrin of her father, but later pride, Irma picked up Boxing, just as her 3 older brothers did to minimal success. However, despite her skill, she promised to both her parents and herself that she'd limit her self to amateur boxing and otherwise be utterly focused on her intellectual pursuits. It would be in her High School debate team competitions when she'd first come into contact with Irvin Thornton, someone who, based on her pasts interests, her parents felt that she might be willing to get into a relationship with, while being in their estimation, a mature, intelligent individual that would make something of himself. Irma, while happy to accept her parents guidance when it came to developing her talents, was not particularly interested in follow their relationship advice and was, genuinely hostile the few times a year she'd see him during high school.

Consistently a leader in her community and school, while being in accordance with her own mother's dreams for her, Irma would end up going to Stanford for Political Science which coincided with the Caballero's moving to the Bay Area, for the purpose of starting a family business in the region under the management of her 3 older brothers who by then had given up on boxing in favor of pursuing educations in business. Irma, in contrast would through her university years be a dominant force in amateur boxing, to the point her parents gave their blessing for her to, upon the conclusion of her undergraduate degree, pursue a professional boxing career should she want. However, during a national university debating competition in 2001, Irma would yet again come in contact with Irvin Thornton and out of boredom, Irma relented and gave him the date that he'd first asked for about 6 years previous. During that date, they had, among other things, a discussion that lead both to realize that they had a lot more in common with their view of the world and their dreams for the future than they thought.

Irma, at that point, decided that she'd follow in her mother's footsteps into the flight attendant profession, but for the purpose of getting herself into a labor organizing position rather than pursuing a career in management, with the side benefit that it made it easier to visit Irvin between their extensive and constant email communication. Using her mother's connections and her non insignificant fame, she was able to get herself an inflight position during the summer, with the intention of taking part time administrative positions during school. But 9/11 gave her an opportunity to start wedging her way into minor roles in the AFA, as she made enforcing safe conditions for flight attendants her key points of advocacy. After graduating from Stanford in 2003, as they had planned, Irma and Irvin would marry, and as wedding gift, the new couple would be helped purchasing a suburban home in San Jose, from which Irma and Irvin could commute to work and Stanford respectively. Rather than a pursue a professional career in boxing, Irma would instead drop amateur boxing to put the whole of her energy, aside from still keeping in shape, if for no other reason than exercise, in trying to push ahead in her labor organizing career. In 2007 this would pay off, as she would be selected as Communications Chair for the AFA-CWA in her airline. In this capacity she did significant work advocating for flight attendants wages, pensions and benefits when they faced threat's during the 2008 financial crisis, establishing an excellent rapport and gaining her supporters.

In August of 2009, when the IOC decided that women's boxing would be a part of the 2012 Olympics, Irma decided that she would return to amateur boxing to 3 more years, part as passion and part as a way to feed her name recognition. Despite remaining in shape and still only being in her late 20s, Irma found herself significantly out of practice to begin with, but by 2011 she was good enough to win 'gold' in the light heavyweight category, but despite this success, her capacity to compete and even qualify for Olympics against up and coming stars, was still somewhat in question. Nonetheless, she was able to return to the prime performance that had once had her consider being professional boxer and managed to secure gold in the 2012 Olympics before retiring from boxing once and for all.

Irma would continue to serve ably in her position as a communications chair while simultaneously playing a significant role in organizing strikes and the threats of strikes to protect flight attendants, while also establishing closer ties across the labor movement. She also deftly found ways to help her husband's political career through vouching for his trustworthiness to other parts of union leadership despite his employment as a corporate lawyer. This proved vital to both his efforts to secure the mayoral-ship of San Jose and the Lieutenant governorship, while also aiding in his pivot into the left. Come 2016, Irma would be appointed international vice president of the AFA-CWA, making her clearly next in line for the union's vice presidency. by late 2018, in the lead up to the 2018-2019 government shutdown, Irma, a long time advocate for AFA-CWA to play a leading role in the labor movement as a whole for political purposes rather than simply protection of members, Irma was able from her position help convince large swaths of airline workers who were working without pay during the shut down, to refuse to show up, an action that certainly help accelerate the end to the shutdown and vastly increase her national profile as a union leader. She was also have to help leverage this profile to give Irvin the slight edge he needed to become the democratic nominee for the governor's race, which made his rise to the governorship all but completely inevitable.

As First Lady of California, she has worked constantly to ensure that labor and progressive forces in general remained aligned with Irvin despite his turn to moderation in the first half of his term as governor. Originally hoping to find her way into a seat left vacant by Hamala Karris ascending to the vice presidency, the Democrat's loss in 2020 complicated her future, even as the election represented a triumphant win for state level progressives in California. Now, her options include running for the chair of the AFL-CIO in it's august elections or remaining steadfast in trying to secure herself a Senate seat, even as she remains focused on her current position in the labor movement, supporting her husband as Governor and by extension is preparation for a 2024 presidential run.

Charismatic/Photogenic
Political brawler
Clever Opportunist

Despised by LGBT and anti-war voters

Biography:

Serah Kurian was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin on June 21st, 1976 to Nisha and Isaac Kurian, an educated Indian Christian couple that immigrated to Wisconsin from Kerala, India. Soon She was born, her father, educated as an engineer, would relocate the family to Virginia, where her father accepted a very well paying job in marine engineering. She'd grow up both very privileged and assured in her intelligence. Serah, despite being an excellent student, would frequently get into conflicts with peers, though she'd usually come out ahead. She would, however, develop an internal feelings of insecurity and emptiness, usually quenched by praise from others. Originally. she intended to simply follow in her father's foot steps by pursuing a career in STEM, graduating with high honors in biological sciences. However, during her studies, she'd get baptized and adopt a strong evangelical Christian faith, which would be followed by feeling a calling to serve her country through the military and then politics. {Where did she study her Engineering Degree?}

As such, after graduating she joined the Air Force Reserve, being among the air force's first drone pilots, even as she worked for as a independent contractor in the aerospace engineer field outside of reserve duties. Her political career had began in 1999 with her joining the reform party to help (non-Buchanan) win the nomination of the party for the 2000 election. In state level politics she considered running as a reform candidate as a challenge against the republican in the uncontested Wisconsin 2nd state assembly seat, in 2002, but came to an agreement to an agreement with him that he'd run for the state senate seat and she'd get his support, as a Republican, in the assembly seat. So in 2004 she joined the Republican party and won the seat. During her tenure in office, she was a vocally conservative republican, insisting, that she was in fact, the most conservative of her caucus, despite being notably personable with democrats. {How did she get to Wisconsin given her roots are clearly in Virginia? She spends barely anytime in Wisconsin judging by the first two paragraphs, so what is her re-entry? Also, as a clear carpetbagger how did she build a local ground game, local races are often decided by money and locality in terms of winning primaries and generals alike}

{Wisconsin's 2nd Assembly District is not within Wisconsin's 2nd Senate District, so once again, carpetbagging - Also, Wisconsin's 2nd Senate District is centered around Green Bay and the surrounds, outside the WOW Districts, this is location number 1 for 'moderate' voters, so how she wins can't be on low moderate turnout, in a 2010 environment when *everybody* is turning out}
By 2010, she had begun aligning with the TEA party movement and primaried the state senator she had once made a deal with from his right and took his seat, taking advantage of low moderate turnout.

{Needs more detail on what she did through her time in Congress - also having babies while in Congress is uncommon, it is very very rare, having *two* kids while in office even rarer, so have one before 2012
She needs to be aged up and given more grounding in Wisconsin to justify her entry into Wisconsin politics - especially where she is mentored into a district.
Also, I want to see more between early life and politics itself, none of her strengths or weaknesses are justified in the bio, why would suburbanites and war hawks like her? Why do anti-war activists dislike her?}

Character Application and Information Sheet

NS Nation Name: Gordano and Lysandus
Character Name: Abigail Jekyll-Jones
Character Gender: Female
Character Age: 65
Character Height: 5’6”
Character Weight: 138lbs

Character Position/Role/Job: U.S. Representative for the 2nd District of the State of Oregon (2001-); Chair of the House Committee on Natural Resources (2021-); Ranking Member of the House Commitee on Natural Resources (2019-2021); Mayor of Klamath Falls (1993-2001); Employee, Jekyll and Sons Jewellers (1976-1993).
Character Country/State of Birth: Oregon, United States
Character State of Residence: Oregon
Character Party Affiliation: Republican

Main Strengths: Reliable Republican with no major personal scandals on her own hands; reasonably well-to-do; respected within the conference and well-positioned to help with negotiations; positioned herself well with the rise of Arnold Wolf.
Main Weaknesses: Husband’s business ties have raised eyebrows on the question of justice for Native Americans, particularly with Abigail's persistent opposition to reform in favor of Native communities in Congress; Mormon convictions isolate her from statewide or national ambitions; advocacy for (not-Ammon Bundy) and the People’s Rights organization has drawn criticism from Democrats.

Biography:
Born on November 9th, 1955 to John and Miriam Jekyll, a Mormon couple running a family-owned jewellery business in Klamath Falls, Oregon, she was raised a devout Mormon. Homeschooled in her elementary years, she would not go to school until she hit middle school age. Insular and deeply ingrained in the convictions of her faith, she eschewed traditional friendship groups and was generally shy and bookish. A good student, she had a largely uneventful childhood through the ‘50s and ‘60s, and by the early ‘70s, graduated with good grades. Her lonely childhood was compounded by the fact that her family were afflicted with polio, with her two siblings and her mother all claimed by the disease.

Accepted into the Oregon Institute of Technology in her native Klamath Falls, she pursued a BSc in Business, being the only one of John Jekyll’s children left to inherit Jekyll and Sons Jewellers. She was a good student, though her interest in economics in this period led her to be drawn slightly to the nascently growing libertarian and anti-Keynesian push in economic theory at the time. This would go on to shape her economic views as her life continued. Not inherently interested in politics at this time, upon leaving college in 1976, she began to work at Jekyll and Sons to support her father in the business.

She did, in this time, meet Paul Jones, a fellow Mormon and local whose family had been successful in the east Oregon timber industry, from lands that had been expropriated from the local Klamath and Modoc peoples. With a compatibility of religion, and a reasonably positive start, they soon entered into a relationship, and by 1978 were married. Her continuing work for Jekyll and Sons was on and off as she experienced four pregnancies, one of them difficult, over a period of four years from 1979 to 1983. Over the 1980s, she approved of the large-scale push to slash federal taxation by President Reagan, and between that and her nascent interest in economics from college, she became increasingly jaded at what she saw as state and local taxes that impeded both her husband and her father in success in business.

The opportunity to confront this came in 1992. With her children all at an age requiring less direct supervision, and the blessing of her husband (without which she wouldn’t have acted at all), she stood for election as Mayor of Klamath Falls on an outrightly anti-tax platform, promising to cut waste in the city government and put money back in the hands of locals. With a broadly contested field, she managed to distinguish herself enough to drag herself ahead of her rivals, and managed to win election in the small, eastern Oregonian city.

Despite the nonpartisan nature of the mayoralty in Klamath Falls, she began to build ties with the state Republican Party, who were cultivating her as a potential future candidate. Her Mormon faith, and the firmness to which she held to it, however, impeded her and resulted in her largely being regarded as unfit for statewide office, though the potential remained for her to see congressional office later.

As Mayor, she indeed did cut down on municipal spending and taxes, though at an expense to public services, contracting them out where possible to companies who could provide a slightly less stringent service at a more reasonable cost. Despite the dip in public services, the slashing of municipal taxes did much to cement her popularity, as did her response to the earthquake in 1993, which destroyed numerous buildings in the downtown area. Personally overseeing the response by fire and rescue services alongside state agencies, she functioned on very little sleep as she sought to ensure that everyone in the collapsed buildings could be accounted for. She was integral in seeking the Community Development Block Grant necessary to help cover the millions of dollars in damage in the area, and applied herself forthrightly to the task of negotiating down the price of contracts during the rebuilding. She went on to go to Washington, D.C. personally on a political stunt to demand the USGS establish seismographs in Klamath County, which would eventually occur, and earned her some attention across the state, particularly in the east.

Despite her Republican leanings, she has been an avid advocate for the geothermal heating and energy systems in the Klamath Falls area, supporting investments and developments in the technology to reduce city expenditures on heating and electricity. A proponent of school choice, she started a campaign and set groundwork for the Klamath Falls City School District establishing its first charter high school in 2006, after she had left office.

When it became apparent that an opening would be present to run for Congress in 2000 in Oregon’s 2nd District, Abigail was interested. Solidified in her alignment towards the Republican Party by her outrage at the Clifford sex scandal, and firmly convicted of the belief that President Clifford should have been impeached for his poor moral character, she ran in the primary and managed to pull out a slim but convincing lead. The safe Republican district fell into her hands in the election of 2000, allowing her to join Congress in 2001. Not long afterwards, her father succumbed to emphysema, and she inherited the family business, which she left in the hands of her now-21 year old son, Joseph.

In the 107th Congress, she was an enthusiastic supporter of the agenda of President Burke, including the military activities of that administration. She was, however, a No vote on the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, cutting her teeth on her deregulatory credentials. She also began her pattern of - every Congress - introducing a bill to dilute the authority of the Endangered Species Act after the 2001 ruling that caused irrigation systems in the Klamath Falls area to be shut down to protect species of fish. She was a visible presence in the ‘Bucket Brigades’ in Klamath Falls, and led a delegation of protesting farmers to the Capitol. In 2002, her second son, Paul Jekyll-Jones Jr., joined the US Army. He would go on to be deployed a number of times in Iraq and Afghanistan.

In the 108th Congress, she was involved in the drafting of the Check 21 Act to streamline banking processes, and was a supporter of the party line on the CAN-SPAM Act. She first joined the House Committee on Natural Resources in this Congress. She sharpened her credentials on Israel with her support for the Global Anti-Semitism Review Act.

In the 109th Congress, she helped to draft and was a firm supporter of the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, as well as the failed Personal Responsibility in Food Consumption Act. She was outspoken in furthering the censorship technology provisions in the Family Entertainment and Copyright Act, deploring the “abundance of filth in present media”.

In the 110th Congress, in the minority, she nonetheless joined the congressional majorities that overturned President Burke’s veto of the 2007 Farm Bill, and she voted against the Saxbe fix for Diane Clifford near the end of the Congress, giving a long floor speech stating her belief that the “specter of misconduct in the White House should not be allowed to return”, referencing the Secretary of State-designate’s husband’s scandals.

In the 111th Congress, the first of President Baharia’s presidency, she refused to attend his joint address to Congress calling for healthcare reform, and would go on to become a founding member of the Tea Party Caucus in 2009. Though she made an exception for the Lilly Ledbetter Act, she otherwise opposed the large share of President Baharia’s policies. She exceeded the time allotted for her floor speech on the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell Repeal Act and had to be removed from the House chamber when she refused to end her speech.

In the 112th Congress, she was delighted by the restoration of the Republican majority in the House, and eagerly supported Speaker (not-Boehner’s) brinkmanship with President Baharia over the debt ceiling and government spending. Opposed to the STOCK Act and supportive of the JOBS Act, she remained a relatively solid Republican vote on the vast majority of issues. She was disappointed by the Sebelius ruling, claiming that the Court had “failed in its fundamental duties to restrain an overzealous government” by failing to strike down Bahariacare. An early supporter of (not-Mitt Romney), she threw her weight behind the campaign of the fellow Mormon through to his defeat in the election of 2012.

By the 113th Congress, she supported the Veteran’s Choice Act, and was a No vote on the proposed reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, on the basis of its incorporation of protections for LGBT persons, and immigrants.

In the 114th Congress, she supported (not-Paul Ryan’s) ascendancy to the Speakership, and was rewarded with the chairmanship of the Natural Resources committee. A supporter of the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act, and an opponent of USA FREEDOM Act, criticizing the Baharia Administration as being “criminally weak on the national defense”. An early supporter of former Representative and FOX pundit Arnold Wolf, having recognized early his potential to disrupt the field and more radicalized by her time in the Tea Party, she was a key speaker for his campaign across the west coast of the United States, driving up numbers of blue state Republicans for his campaign. She caused a stir in 2016 by being an open and vocal support of the occupiers during the Malheur siege, stating that any aggressive action by the Baharia Administration would “constitute a declaration of war by the federal government against the citizens, and invite a righteous revolution in return”.

In the 115th Congress, she was a vocal and loud supporter of the attempt to overturn Bahariacare, and was excoriating regarding Senate Republicans who voted down the reconciliation measure. A supporter of the vast majority of the Republican agenda, she did not give her backing to the FIRST STEP Act.

In the 116th Congress, she remained a persistent opponent and obstructionist of the Democratic agenda in the House, in line with Republican colleagues. Though she supported IRS reform in the Taxpayer First Act, she otherwise did not support bipartisan initiatives, preferring to cast the Democratic House as uncooperative and hyperpartisan. Sitting out of the early stages of the Republican primaries following the shock announcement of President Wolf’s illness and his successor Tawney’s desire not to run again, she eventually endorsed Governor Richardson of Florida as the field narrowed, and supported him actively in the Washington, Oregon and California primaries. During this Congress, she was the Ranking Member of the Natural Resources Committee.

In the 117th Congress, she has taken the Chair of the Natural Resources Committee in the House.

Admins, until what point are things the same in this world. I know pre-Reagan politicians are canon, but what about some less-political stuff in the past? Like Rodney King or the Flint water crisis or Hurricane Katrina? I'm asking cause my Wisconsin senate candidate was a minor civil rights lawyer, how should I talk about his past cases? Should I make them up, or just take RL cases and say that he was the lawyer in them instead of whoever actually was?

Character Age: 65
Character Height: 6 ft 4
Character Weight: 199 Lbs
Character Position/Role/Job: US Representative of Utah's 4th Congressional District (2021-Present), Utah House Rep 2nd District (1986-2021) Utah Speaker of the House (2014-2018)
Character State of Origin: Virginia
Character State of Residence: Utah
Character Party Affiliation: Republican
Main Strengths: Has GOP Establishment Support, Excellent Campaigner, Supporter of Wolf
Main Weaknesses: Wildcard, Carpetbagger, Anger Issues
Biography: Henry was born in 1955 to Bernie and Henrietta Mason, he was the third of 4 children, his father worked at a Rice Mill and his mother stayed home. He was enrolled in a Blacks only school until the age of 14 in 1969 when he was finally put into a desegregated school in Gainesville, after many other attempts throughout the sixties.

After graduating school, Henry took interest in stage acting. Henry moved to New York, where he would try his hand at Broadway. He stuck around for a year or two but had no real successes. He went to college there for Law, during his time in college, he met a woman, Talia, who would soon become his wife. After they were married, they moved to Talia's home state of Utah. During the move, a mover had accidentally dropped a vase down the stairs almost hitting Talia, Henry grabbed him by his throat and threw him out of the house. The moving company filed a lawsuit, and Henry won due to lack of evidence as his wife committed perjury on the stand. He went into debt for the first few years of his time in Utah due to the costs of the lawyer, before finding work as a Lawyer himself.

Talia's father was a state representative and encouraged Henry to use his charismatic nature and approach in the world of politics. Henry was reluctant, but ran for his state House of Representatives and won with relatively small margins in 1986, but it was enough to get him into the State House. He won the Utah House of Representatives Seat for District 2. He was very passionate at getting the various governors work done, so passionate in fact, he would resort to threatening other members of the House. Soon, he became popular in state politics working with the Republican Governors of his time. He is an acclaimed supporter of Gov. Abernathy, and has worked directly with the man many times. In 2014, Henry mason was elected as the Speaker of the House in the Utah State Legislature, and resigned in 2018 after laying his hands on another Representative.

Then he had decided to run for US Representative of the 4th Congressional District in 2020. He won with incredibly slim margins and there is a great chance he may lose the midterms.

Other Info: He has 3 children, he is still married to Talia Monroe, he has spells of anger, and may have anger issues. He has been a practicing Mormon since he moved with his wife's family in Utah.

He supported Wolf quietly, but currently dislikes him.

He is fairly moderate and doesn't have any 'beef' with most Democrats. Which is a reason he was asked to speak at the 2020 RNC. Throughout the 2020 Election, he supported Nate Richardson wholeheartedly.

NS Nation Name: Hanovereich
Character Name: Harry Wagner
Character Gender: M
Character Age: 45
Character Height: 5′7″
Character Weight: 145lbs
Character Position/Role/Job: Representative for New York's 17 district
Character Country/State of Birth: New York
Character State of Residence: New York
Character Party Affiliation: Democrat
Main Strengths: Good speechwriter, well-known to his community and district, able to draw a crowd of followers.
Main Weaknesses: Inexperienced politician, sometimes says inappropriate comments (some of which he doesn't regret), poor orator (as in the talking)
Biography: Born on 19 November 1978, in New Rochelle, Harry Wagner was the son of Alan and Matilda Wagner.

His father, Alan Wagner, was a civil engineer. His father had served in the Civilian Conservation Corps, and before that, he had worked on the Hoover Dam. Alan was well-known to the local community of New York, through his contacts of colleagues in his work. He had originally wanted his only son to be an engineer as well, although it soon became clear that he wished to be a politician and change the world- or at least change New York's 17th congressional district.

Maltida Wagner, née Tucker, worked at the David Geffen School of Drama, at Yale University, in Connecticut. She was a costume designer, and taught students there in the profession. She had met Alan Wagner at a party in Miami, hosted by a mutual friend. She is a Democrat supporter and encouraged Harry's ambition into politics.

Harry Wagner attended Fordham University, where he joined the Army ROTC. He studied engineering as his father had wanted him to, but he was set on a career in politics- and if not, in journalism, as he had a keen mind and an ability to remember facts. He graduated with a bachelor's degree cum laude in Civil Engineering. However, he still wanted to be a politician, so he unsuccessfully ran for Representative in his home district, the 16th congressional district of New York. This was in 2007. 2 years later, he ran for the city council of New Rochelle, and won. Afterwards, his political career started to be noticed. Noam Bramson resigned in 2011 to spend more time with his family. He was widely seen as the best candidate to succeed him, and he indeed became Mayor of New Rochelle. Then, in 2016, he ran for and won the Democrat primaries for the 16th congressional district. He was elected by 64% of the voters. He has proven to be a popular politician with the people, but his inexperience in Congress has showed. Nevertheless, he was reelected in 2020, by a wider margin. He now looks to run for higher office, as well as to handle his congressional affairs better. It remains to be seen whether he can achieve both goals.

{These Strengths and Weaknesses need reworking, being "despised by LGBT" is meaningless, Paranoia, Narcissism, Authoritarian and Cruel are all personality traits, not actual weaknesses.}

Fixed this.

{Where did she study her Engineering Degree?}

Oh, sorry, posted an old draft of the bio in the first place that I didn't properly edit so I messed up the engineering/biological science a thing.

{How did she get to Wisconsin given her roots are clearly in Virginia? She spends barely anytime in Wisconsin judging by the first two paragraphs, so what is her re-entry? Also, as a clear carpetbagger how did she build a local ground game, local races are often decided by money and locality in terms of winning primaries and generals alike}

Should have clarified she returned to Wisconsin as soon as she graduated, fixed that.

{Wisconsin's 2nd Assembly District is not within Wisconsin's 2nd Senate District, so once again, carpetbagging - Also, Wisconsin's 2nd Senate District is centered around Green Bay and the surrounds, outside the WOW Districts, this is location number 1 for 'moderate' voters, so how she wins can't be on low moderate turnout, in a 2010 environment when *everybody* is turning out}

Wisconsin's 2nd Assembly District has gone Republican at least 15 percentage points in every election since 1994 except 2008. I probably should have should have put down 1st instead of 2nd for the senate district, because that was the race that happened in 2010, while 2nd happened in 2008 and contains the 2nd assembly district but the 2nd senate district went flat out uncontested in 2008. As for the 1st, that was R +20 in 2010, which is what I've changed her to, plus emphasizing economic moderation.

Also, I want to see more between early life and politics itself, none of her strengths or weaknesses are justified in the bio, why would suburbanites and war hawks like her? Why do anti-war activists dislike her?}

Fixed this, I think. But I don't think aging up is necessary, the timing of her political career is largely modelled on Krysten Sinema's, the only early thing is state house in 2002 instead of 2004. (which I changed to make sure the state senate elections align properly)

Character Application and Information Sheet

NS Nation Name: Cybernetic Socialist Republics
Character Name: Serah Kurian
Character Gender: Female
Character Age: 44 (June 21, 1976)
Character Height: 5'7
Character Weight: 136 Pounds
Character Position/Role/Job: Candidate Wisconsin Senate Special Election (2021), Representative for Wisconsin's 8th (2013-), State Senator for Wisconsin's 1st Senate District (2011-2013), State Assembly for Wisconsin's 2nd (2003-2011), Air Force Reserve (2000-), Aerospace Engineer (1999-2005)
Character Country/State of Birth: Wisconsin
Character State of Residence: Wisconsin
Character Party Affiliation: Republican (2002-), Reform (1999-2002)

Main Strengths and Weaknesses:

Sereh is an intelligent, photogenic woman that is unafraid of political confrontation and opportunistic behavior. These are characteristics, that have advanced her career and seen her develop a strong online following, but has also fed into her ego, which can lead to her overplaying her hand. Her notability also makes lightning rod for liberal ire, despite being, ideologically, very much a run of the mill republican with some technocratic leanings, even as she has her story of baptism in her youth to appeal to evangelicals. Combined, she has decent support from social conservatives and strong suburban appeal. Since her first foray into politics was outside of the two major parties, she also has a inkling of what swings and motivates voters alienated from both parties. An air force reserve woman and an strong advocate for the use of America's hard power, has also won her support among warhawks. The support she gets in one form, however can come back in significant opposition. Part of having a strong social media presence as a republican means aligning one's self with the trends of conservative youth, which has naturally made her culture warrior of a type that is particularly offensive to social liberals and naturally her advocacy for military power makes her run afoul of committed anti-war activists.

Originally. she intended to simply follow in her father's foot steps by pursuing a career in STEM, graduating with high honors in aerospace engineering from MIT. However, during her studies, she'd get baptized and adopt a strong evangelical Christian faith, which would be followed by feeling a calling to serve her country through the military and then politics.

As such, after graduating she would move back to Wisconsin and join the Air Force Reserve, being among the air force's first drone pilots, even as she worked for as a independent contractor in the aerospace engineer field outside of reserve duties. Her political career had began in 1999 with her joining the reform party to help (non-Buchanan) win the nomination of the party for the 2000 election. Originally starting out with paleoconservative beliefs, which lead to her being strongly social conservative, but also economically moderate, 9/11 pushed her toward a more mainstream, neoconservative alignment on foreign policy, which would eventually see her leave Reform for the Republican Party in 2002. At the state level after a few years of being an effective organizer for socially conservative, yet economically moderate causes in Green Bay, She was able to reach an agreement to an agreement with the incumbent in the 2nd assembly district that he'd run for the 1st senate seat and she'd get his support, as a Republican, for his assembly seat. She'd win the seat in an uncontested primary. During her tenure in office, she was a vocally socially conservative republican, insisting, that she was in fact, the most conservative of her caucus, despite being notably personable with democrats and could negotiate along economic lines. By 2010, she had begun aligning with the TEA party movement and primaried the state senator she had once made a deal with from his right and took his seat, taking advantage of the larger rise of the TEA party. It was at this point she was recognized nationally by the more conservative elements of the republican party as a rising star and would end up marrying a D.C. Lobbyist in 2010, though she'd keep her name.

In 2012, she'd run in brutal primary against her republican opponent, with both campaigns insinuating the homosexuality of the other, but Sereh would come out ahead ahead in the 2012 election. She's been a loyal republican partisan, though is an advocate of conservative market friendly government that does more than just cut taxes, but establish market friendly programs. In 2014, she and (not-Rubio) presented a proposal to congress intended to formalize, regulate and promote ISA's, or income share agreements, in which students could help fund their education by selling 'shares' in their future earnings. The plan was built around a model that a few new startups have taken up in response to the opportunities created by the developing student debt crisis, based on a concept first envisioned by Milton Friedman in the 1950s. She also backed the (not-rubio) paid family plan in 2018.

She also uses every opportunity she can to speak to the media and speak at events to raise her profile. As a reservist, that has mostly meant being contacted by television channels to give her hawkish thoughts about the use of military force and is perhaps the most prominent advocate of drone warfare in Washington D.C.

Biography (incomplete):
Hugo Fitzgerald was born in eastern Houston, Texas on August 22, 1973 to a Black mother and a Latino father. Growing up, his father dealt with a drug addiction, which would force him to be absent from Hugo’s life up until his teenage years when he finally managed to largely overcome his addiction.

Growing up on the east side of Houston, his family was rather impoverished, though Hugo would still do rather well in school, despite the many challenges that he faced. His experiences in an impoverished area and an underfunded school would contribute to his modern day views of education.

Around his teenage years, he would begin to develop an interest in politics, as he began to frequent news from Washington DC during the Presidencies of Ronald Reagan and [not- H.W. Bush]. He would also gain in interest in law and the different practices of the court system, interests that would stick with him and carry him towards a full education. Hugo would eventually graduate from high school in 1992, and afterwards he would pursue a Political Science major at Texas Southern University. After completing his five years in university, he would move on to go to law school at the University of Texas at Austin.

After completing his four years in law school and earning his law degree, Hugo would secure his first job at a law firm in Pasadena, a suburb of Houston not too far from where he grew up. He kept his eye on the American political scene as it had evolved. Within the law firm, Hugo would provide legal advice to various clients, and sometimes even defend or prosecute in court. There was one particular case in 2005 the Hugo holds as a pinnacle of his legal career, where he was able to score a victory for the family of a Latino man who had been wrongfully murdered by the Pasadena Police Department.

Otherwise, his legal career was rather bland, and he began to explore the option of running for some local public office around 2007. In 2008, inspired in part by the Presidential campaign of Baharia, Hugo would decide to run for Houston City Council, a pretty low-level public office to start off with, and after rather vigorous campaign (at least compared to how low level the office is) based off of helping to bring improvements to Houston’s public transport and reforms to the police, among other things, he would successfully win his election and gain a seat on the council. While on the council, he would accomplish many of the things that he had set out to do, along with Houston Mayors [not- Bill White] and [not-Annise Parker].

By 2013, Hugo felt he had done the most that he could as a member of the City Council, plus he also desired a higher office. Luckily for him, the mayor of Pasadena declared his resignation due to a number of corruption and embezzlement scandals, which meant that emergency elections had to be held. Hugo saw the opportunity and swooped into the race, campaigning off of building off of the progress he helped bring to Houston and bring it to Pasadena. This, combined with a few gaffes by his opponents, would lead to him coming out victorious in the election.

As mayor, Hugo would waste no time in attempting to implement his agenda, passing new laws to further limit air and water pollutants, redevelop a good amount of the city’s aging infrastructure, better protect against the threat of flooding (especially after Hurricane Harvey), and subsidize small businesses. All in all, Hugo was well liked as Mayor, and rightfully so, as he was able to accomplish quite a lot in his time as Mayor.

In 2018, Hugo had his eye on the 29th Congressional District Election, and after some contemplation, decided to run. He campaigned on his successes as Mayor and made some wider promises of reforms. Hugo battled fiercely with the incumbent, [not- Gene Green], as well as another prominent candidate for the position, [not-Sylvia Garcia], and in the primary, Hugo would finish second, barely edging [not-Garcia] and falling behind [not-Green] by only 2.1 percentage points in a thrilling election. After, Hugo would return to his position as Mayor of Pasadena.

Hugo continued to serve as Mayor of Pasadena, and during his last year, while unrest gripped the nation after the unjust death of [not-George Floyd], would manage quite well, earning praise from some of his constituents, but that itch to seek a higher office never truly went away, and by 2020, Hugo would again decide to run for the 29th District, as [not-Green] had announced he would not seek another term and would retire after 2020. Hugo once again faced [not-Garcia], in the primary, though this time Hugo would manage to secure the victory. He would go on to win the District with ease from there, winning 71.1% of the vote.

Now in the US House, Hugo plans on wasting no time and fulfilling his campaign promises, hoping to bring a newfound prosperity to not just his homeland of Southeast Texas, but across America.

Should I make them up, or just take RL cases and say that he was the lawyer in them instead of whoever actually was?

Character Application and Information Sheet

NS Nation Name: Louis
Character Name: Henry Mason
Character Gender: Male

Which is a reason he was asked to speak at the 2020 RNC.

where does he stand on issues?

He is fairly moderate but stands with the establishment on many issues. He believes in reforming the republican party, moving it away from the likes of Reagan and Wolf, to people like Bobby Jindal, Susan Collins, Mitt Romney. He is fairly conservative on issues like abortion and gay marriage but is moderate on Immigration, and Gun Rights. If there are any in particular you'd like to know, I can explain more in the app.

Considering that that would of happened during the time LOTF took place in, and it never happened during LOTF, I doubt it happened within the cannon of this universe too

ATTENTION

Durant's recent labelling of a sitting Republican Speaker as a Communist borders on a breach, if not breaches the rule against Sabotage Characters

No responses are to be made to the Town Hall itself until further notice, Admins will be deliberating on what action will be taken to restore a semblance of normality to Durant's ramblings.

Character Application and Information Sheet[/align]

He's a New Democrat, so he's liberal on social issues and conservative on the economy. He supports abortion and gun laws, but has a moderate record on environment, and prefers not to speak about same-sex marriage (although privately he has no real opinion on it). On most things he's politically close to Reagan.

Someone who is politically close to Reagan is not a New Democrat, they’re a Blue Dog or just a Republican.

Fixed this.

{Where did she study her Engineering Degree?}

Oh, sorry, posted an old draft of the bio in the first place that I didn't properly edit so I messed up the engineering/biological science a thing.

{How did she get to Wisconsin given her roots are clearly in Virginia? She spends barely anytime in Wisconsin judging by the first two paragraphs, so what is her re-entry? Also, as a clear carpetbagger how did she build a local ground game, local races are often decided by money and locality in terms of winning primaries and generals alike}

Should have clarified she returned to Wisconsin as soon as she graduated, fixed that.

{Wisconsin's 2nd Assembly District is not within Wisconsin's 2nd Senate District, so once again, carpetbagging - Also, Wisconsin's 2nd Senate District is centered around Green Bay and the surrounds, outside the WOW Districts, this is location number 1 for 'moderate' voters, so how she wins can't be on low moderate turnout, in a 2010 environment when *everybody* is turning out}

Also, I want to see more between early life and politics itself, none of her strengths or weaknesses are justified in the bio, why would suburbanites and war hawks like her? Why do anti-war activists dislike her?}

Originally. she intended to simply follow in her father's foot steps by pursuing a career in STEM, graduating with high honors in aerospace engineering from MIT.
