I'm posting this here so that I can discuss the military size. Due to how small the Vatican is the Swiss guard is usually more than 2% of the population, not to mention the other military units in the city. 135 is really a lowball for what it would be which would be closer to 200 if I count the gendarme, which I won't here but would it be okay if I go over the 2% limit on population?

History: Portugal was neutral in the Spanish Civil War, although the public were sympathetic to the Republican cause and Portugal assisted them heavily in the hopes of aid when the war was over. This took its toll on the economy of the nation, which was made worse by the Nationalist victory. This led to a crisis in Portugal, with the resignation of President Carmona, culminating in the Angolan War of Independence in 1939, leading to the country staying neutral in the Second World War whilst trying, in vain, to preserve one of their most valuable colonies from leaving the Republic. In April 1942, after a long and bloody war, Angola was declared independent and Portugal left the country two months later. To help boost the economy after this humiliation for Portugal, Macau was released in March 1943. Now, Portugal is in a dire situation, and needs to recover quickly as more independence movements start to show themselves.
