I think there will be an interesting tension between the Commonwealth's appeal to more syndicalist elements in Vladivostock, and the government's reliance on the US to fuel its fleet, keep its economy afloat, and so on. They probably can't afford to align so closely with Chelyabinsk that they lose the support of Washington. Walking that line will be a fun challenge.

In other news, I am quite busy until Wednesday, but will start work Thursday on an IC post, with an eye to finishing it by the end of Saturday.

I was just about to mention this: the Commonwealth's vision of a reunited USSR is probably the closest with Vladivostok, and I could see the Fleet being integrated as some sort of large soldiers-sailors union, but, that will likely have to be relegated to the political back-burner for practical reasons.

Yeah, existing institutions will probably not give up their position in favour of total worker control; even a socialist state would be opposed to such a move. Nationalised control and collectivised control are far away from one another. At the same time, such a revolution would alienate the West, including the US, and that is economically not viable.

The only reason the Commonwealth could become syndicalist is because the established government disappeared almost overnight. Actually taking power is another story, and idealism will make way for pragmatism; something that is less relevant for the Commonwealth, as they are internationally isolated anyway.

Could a China heavily influenced by a still existing/dominant Blue Shirt Society work?

Sure, as long as there is no alliance of China with Germany or Italy in the 1940s (as Germany aligned itself with Japan as in RL after some initial cooperation with the KMT China).

China in this TL was allied with the Allies against Imperial Japan (as in RL, except in this TL the US never got involved in the European theater of the war but only in the Pacific). But after the war you can have China distancing itself from US, if you want to do so.
