eh just consider the speech postdated to after the meeting starting. It's not necessarily desirable to hold up the IC while we wait for everyone to make their introduction posts.

Remnants of Exilvania wrote:Name: Ilona Líszt
Alias: The tall Woman
Alignment: Resistance
Age: 42
Appearance: Big tall
Additional physical features: 2,30 m tall.
Personality: Utterly aloof, uncaring, cynical and ruthless, the only thing sometimes cracking her aloof shell is a streak of sadism, of glee at the pain and destruction of others.
Abilities: Líszt is the commander of the Neuschwabenland Division of the Resistance and has shown a surprising amount of skill in keeping all of her rather...colourful underlings under control and focused on their tasks. She has also long trained and steeled her body, practicing several martial arts and general combat moves and weapons handling from war veterans housed in her base.
Biography: Ilona Líszt was born as an ethnic Hungarian in the Austrian Burgenland to a family with a long history of working for the Austrians. Wether it was as mercenaries against the Protestants or Turks, as soldiers against the Prussians, as intelligence officers of the k.u.k. Evidenzbüro against the Entente, as members of the RSHA against the Allies and finally as members of the Stapo.
Ilona's future was looking different. Having been in a rebellious phase, she had joined with nationalist hungarians and espoused revanchist rhetoric and the threat of moving to Hungary and becoming a journalist uncovering dirty secret service affairs instead. Much to the chagrin of her parents, who, at the time, couldn't devote much time or effort to setting her daughter straight, following leads that could very well blow Columbia's and Hammer's entire operation.
It was on the eve of the new year's coming that Ilona broke up with her ultranationalist hungarian boyfriend after he attempted to rape her and returned back home in tears, ready to seek the loving embrace of her parents again. Suffice to say, they weren't there, leaving Ilona to stew in her own tears and misery.
Yet when the morning and the new year came, a broadcast informed her of the terrible news. The metahumans had taken over the world. Aside from recoiling at the news like any sane person without superpowers, Ilona immediately set out to the Stapo offices she knew her parents worked in...just to find a bloodbath. In the metahumans' takeover it too had been liquidated. Still, it took her several additional days to find out that her parents were well and truly dead, having refused to bow down to the terrorists who now ruled the world.
She spent another week vegetating in her parents' house as the metahumans tightened their grip on the world. Yet to her it didn't matter, the whirlpool of emotions she was going through kept her uncaring. The week, multiple unsuccessful suicide attempts and a homicide of someone coming to check up on her later, Ilona took supplies and everything of value, set fire to her home and then set out into the countryside.
Eventually, through many backchannels and the like, the Hungarian would find herself in Australia where she entered into military service with the Resistance, proving herself to be a loyal but...questionable moral soldier and later commander.
Eventually she'd be commanded to take charge of a newly joined Resistance cell. Said resistance cell turned out to be a rather...eclectic bunch of individuals with an equally eclectic bunch of means and expertise at their disposal. And while a headache to manage at first, Ilona quickly found perks in her new position and formed a sort of militarized research cell away from the target that was Australia, safe and sound in case of a new metahuman offensive.
As of late the research of said cell has concentrated on something one of the most influential scientists on the base, one Dr. Abraham Tannenbaum, propagates as a humane way of saving the world and returning it to its previous state. That being a cure for metahumanity that is supposed to return everyone to being baseline humans. So far there have been serious issues with distribution methods and uhm, well, all subjects died gruesomely within a timespan of 48 hours but Dr. Tannenbaum is wholly convinced of his project's future success.
Others, in a less saviour-esque mindset such as Ilona herself however are focusing their thoughts on different ideas, ideas on how to wipe out the metahuman scourge...and likely humanity along with it.
Additional information: Leader of an extremist subdivision of the Resistance headquartered in...*cough* most certainly not Australia.

Age: 26
Appearance: This charming guy
Additional physical features: 1,90 m tall and weighing 90 kg.
Personality: A calm and collected professional on the exterior, hiding a deeply scarred and hurt interior. A man who fears and hates metahumans with a passion rivaled only by his ability to hide it.
Abilities: A highly trained resistance operative, skilled in martial arts, general melee combat and the handling of a variety of firearms and explosives. He's a skilled lone operative and small team commander with a penchant for surviving missions in the most inhospitable places all on his own.
Biography: Albert was born a few years before the Millennium War in Orenburg to a family of Russo-Germans. So far so good aside from Orenburg being a pretty bad place. Things...changed with the metahuman takeover. While his parents were Russo-Germans, they remembered the tales of their own grandparents and great grandparents well. Of a time when their family had still been living at the Black Sea. Of a time when the swastika reigned supreme across the continent of Europe. Their family back then had been taken over, eventually evacuated to Poland and then repatriated to the Soviet Union. Their brief brush with the Nazis gave the family a very lasting impression that they passed on to their children even though the communist government deported them to the edge of Siberia.
The "Overman" was bach. The superhuman destined to rule the lesser races. The idea behind the metahuman takeover rang alarm bells within Albert's parents' heads and they decided to leave the Soviet Union as quickly as possible. Their target? The Resistance, wherever it would be. They would go through the steppes, through Khazakstan and Persia before eventually managing to get aboard a ship in Kuwait and from there head straight towards Australia together with even more refugees trying to escape the metahumans.
But safety was not for them. A patrolling metahuman would attack and sink the ship in the Indian Ocean, eliminating all those traitors in one fell swoop. Well, not all of them as plenty survivors still drifted across the ocean, Albert among them. He was also one of the very few lucky ones, another refugee ship with a similar destination coming across him and taking the small boy aboard. He made it. He survived. But he was alone.
Albert would initially be taken into a refugee camp, plenty of which had to be set up quickly by the Australian Government to contend with the stream of refugees from all over the world. He was making friends there. A friendly old Georgian lady was taking care of him...and then the metahumans started with their constant bombing campaigns. His life was obliterated before his eyes, the new people he cared about died in a sea of flames. For the metahumans it was a simple act to keep the rest of the old world down, weak, beaten. For him and many others on the ground, their world went up in flames.
Refugee camps became untenable. As did much of normal civilization. Bunkers, spread out settlements and heavy anti air screen became the norm. Already at a very young age Albert got air raid drills drilled into him. Eventually he would join the military wing of the Resistance, undergoind training in which he exceeded his compatriots and being taken into a special forces program. There he eventually caught the eye of one Commander Ilona Líszt, a soulless woman who saw the seething hatred within him, the tool he was for her. Following that, he would be transferred under the command of the Neuschwabenland Division, engaging in clandestine operations and special missions for the hardliners, most often with the aim of brining in new metahuman test subjects.

Europa Undivided wrote:Name: Agustin Salazar Gamarra
Alias: The Black Sheep (formerly), the Silent Fury
Alignment: Resistance; former dynasty
Age: 28
Appearance:
With mask and costume
His true face
Additional physical features: Rather compact at 5'7" and has heterochromia, with his eyes being brown and grey.
Personality:
Calm and methodical, Agustin seems to lack emotion on the outside, as shown by his usual neutral expressions. Inside, however, he is haunted by past memories and recurring nightmares. He does his best to shut out the terror, but it is always there, watching for the slightest mistake to remind him of what he was slated to be by his own dynastic family: a failure.
In Agustin's mind, the proper state of metahumans is to defend those who cannot lift mountains and boil oceans; in essence, what metahumans once did before the entire dynastic plot roused its ugly head on that fateful day. For him, for a new world to dawn, the old system must be cleansed, the oppressors thrown down and destroyed with extreme abhorrence. It is indeed difficult to imagine that this metahuman has such an ingrained dislike of his own kind, but it must be remembered that he was seen as a disgrace, and was pushed to the breaking point.
For all of this, Agustin deeply values human life. Should another meta gloat about the apparent weakness of mundane humans in his presence, there will surely be dire consequences. The first person that ever gave him a sense of belonging and worth was a mundane, and he has sent firsthand what kind of barbaric cruelty the lords of this world now impose.
Abilities:
Energy Projection: Agustin is a living energy conduit, drawing eldritch energies from a parallel dimension. This energy has a wide variety of uses. It can be used as what is essentially a blast of lightning, causing destruction that scales with energy consumption. It ranges from a slight sting to someone's skin to a destructive firestorm that levels up to three building stories in an instant. He is able to vaguely manipulate the shape this energy takes, allowing him to curve his blasts to prevent friendly fire.
Another usage of this ability is the empowerment of weaponry; as such, he uses it to turn a specially crafted sword into a devastating weapon that can slice through armor plating with ease.
Space Warping: He can rip open wormholes in spacetime, allowing almost instantaneous travel through long distances. This ability is limited by the fact that he needs to either visualize or see where he is going; the former can be achieved through up to date photographs or memory of target locations, and the latter could either be achieved by line of sight or live footage. Distance scales with energy consumption, with a maximum limit of 400 miles before the incurred fatigue becomes life threatening.
Agustin is also able to teleport within a distance of four meters, up to four times a minute.
Precognition: Agustin is able to see incoming dangers and attacks between four seconds and 1 second before they land, usually giving him ample time to react. However, this can be easily overwhelmed with sheer numbers, or with excessive amounts of stimuli, the latter of which disrupts his focus.
Cloaking: By warping space around him, Agustin disrupts light waves, rendering himself invisible and anything on his person for up to ten seconds at a time.
Durability: While he cannot deflect space beams and nuclear detonations, Agustin is still more durable than a normal human. He deflects small arms fire and sharp, mundane weapons such as knives and axes.
Biography: Agustin Gamarra hails from one of the metahuman vassal families that ruled over what used to be the Philippines. The Gamarras in particular lorded over a portion of the Cagayan Valley, where they looked down literally and metaphysically on the laborers that toiled in the lands. While many of the lords in the South East Asian region were known to be benevolent to their constituents, the Gamarras were bloodthirsty mongrels and dictators. Leo Gamarra, their patriarch, took the bloodthirst to a literal light, as he often had the temptation to drink blood. Thick was the pile of skeletons deep within the catacombs, where every single person whose lifeblood was mostly sucked away by the deranged Gamarra patriarch had been simply thrown away to be devoured by lions and whatever other exotic pets these crazed dictators had. For this reason he was called the Vampire of Cagayan.
Agustin was the oldest of three, but he never picked up the madness of his father, or the cold, calculating cruelty of his mother. The reason for this was that he had been all but cast out of the household, his pesky inability to control his own energy projection rendering him a disgrace in their oh-so-perfect eyes. He was always told that his younger brother and sister weren't just going to be better than him; they were better.
To complicate matters even further, Agustin, in his desire to have someone in his life that wasn't a psychopath, had grown close with a servant boy, whom he bonded over in the library. None of his power obsessed siblings bothered going there, so that was where he spent most of his days as a child and teenager, speaking only to the serf whose sole purpose for existence was to clean.
Agustin wasn't completely ignored, though. He was brought to North America at an age of 23, and would then be forcibly cybernetically 'enhanced'. His right hand was replaced by an unfeeling machine prosthetic designed to forcibly draw upon his eldritch energies through a network of nanomachines and spinal implants. The problem here was that each time it channeled energy, it was mind numbingly painful. Again and again he would be forced to use this damned piece of machinery to, as they said, 'be useful'.
He couldn't even fly like them.
Soon after that, Agustin was given the starkest choice: kill this library serf with a blast of energy, or be forever cut off from all the riches of their clan and from all the other metahuman families. He will be, as a still blood drunken Leo said, 'persona non grata'.
He had been numbed to the pain of the cybernetic hand. But this? This was far too much. He flatly refused, and his pyrokinetic sister then incinerated the serf anyway. All that was left of his only friend were ashes.
After what seemed to be an eternity, Agustin lashed out in a fit of white hot rage, a break from his usual quiet persona. In that moment, the pain of wielding his powers faded, replaced by this insatiable fury. In an instant, the mansion was completely demolished, and the Gamarra family assumed to all be dead. Unknown to all, though, Agustin Gamarra had escaped, teleporting away from the ash covered terrace to the plantations below. Before he made his way to Australia and the Resistance, though, he stole away the Terminus Est, the blade that his magical mother once wielded. He would, as he would always, cleanse the darkness from this world through the only way it can end: death.
Ever since being inducted into the Resistance with the alias of the Silent Fury, Agustin has been seen as an agent of bloody revenge. Those deranged lords he could kill, he kills with absolute abhorrence. He has never gone to missions without a mask, and to this day, his identity remains unknown outside the Resistance, as most believe that he too had died when the Vampire of Cagayan had died along with the Pyrophant, the Ebon Witch, and the Bloodletter.
Some know better.
Additional information:
He wields the Terminus Est, an ancestral dynastic blade infused with eldritch energies.
Some know him as 'Iron Fist', though he hates that name.
He is actually skilled in cooking.
Occasionally, Resistance members would hear pitiful sobbing from within his quarters.
