Abilities:Bio: Kalum was born to a pair of struggling programmers in the 80's, grew up with a computer in the 90's, and when the dot-com bubble popped up in the 2000's, he made his move. He got big, quick, and in it, made key investments that managed to help him get his foot in the door when things started to look bad across the board. While working at a grocery store in the heart of the Silicon Valley, he became friends with the creator of a developing security technology startup, and after having had a few drinks with them, was brought on as their Systems Security and Project Manager. From there, things began looking up, and it wouldn't take long for him to get a new home within the Silicon Valley, helping AegisTech to keep one step ahead of the competition while also maintaining a level of productiveness that was sustainable for the relatively small company.
- Splice: By utilizing some more common off-the-shelf pieces of equipment at a 'discounted price', 'Two-Kay' has managed to created a semi-portable network-hacking device that he can use, with some fumbling around, to help patch into local information systems still active in the world. By linking this to his SHD-issued gear and other JTF equipment, he can interact with, monitor, and track most radio emissions.
- Gremlin: Once 'Two-Kay has successfully spliced into an active network or system, he can utilize an arsenal of electronic warfare techniques to interfere, manipulate, and shut-down compromised systems.
While everything had been working out so far, the small startup secured a big deal with a notable retailer to provide a new type of encryption method that could be easily utilized by preexisting equipment across its many locations. Having completed the project before Black Friday, the retailer managed to provide a large bonus to the company, but the payout never came as the 'Dollar Flu' hit and brought about the pandemic. Responding to the call for officials with any level of training to make their way to Sacramento to assist in JTF efforts there, 'Two-Kay' left the Silicon Valley, where most had been insulated from the initial onset of the Pandemic. By the time he arrived, however, things had taken a downturn and many of the JTF officers were now sick or already dead from the flu. With the assistance of fellow agent, Charles Kravosky, the two men struggled together to ensure that the fallout of the JTF's disastrous first attempt at organizing in Sacramento didn't go to waste.
They were not successful, and in part, Kalum blames himself in spite of what he'd managed to achieve and complete. When the JTF disbanded in Sacramento, he went south with Kalum, to Los Angeles, where the SHD was activating its Third Wave agents to assist a handful of surviving agents on the ground.

Abilities:Bio: A poor kid from a poor neighborhood, Charles was raised by his mother in a poor part of LA. From a young age it was apparent that he was "gifted" and his mother, a maid at the Hotel Bel-Air, dedicated herself to giving young Charles the best shot she could. Childhood for Charles was normal, in a relative sense: he did well in school, was a pitcher for GHS' baseball team, and his graduating classes valedictorian. His single greatest accomplishment though was being awarded a full-ride scholarship to arguably the United States single best research university, CalTech. Partly an athletics scholarship that would last through his undergraduate years and partly a research scholarship for any graduate work, the school saw the immense potential in young Charles.
- Biogel: An experimental compound developed by a fellow CalTech researcher and SHD Agent. Before the Agent was killed, she told Charles where to find her work and he has put it into small-scale production for personal use. The gel comes in thin vials that can be applied directly to wounds. When applied, it forms a semi-malleable protective layer that is anti-bacterial and anti-viral as well as having a mild analgesic property.
- SRSCD: The Small Remote Sample Collecting Device is a drone originally developed for use in laboratory emergencies as an alternative to sending in a human to find and identify the source of a HAZMAT situation. Roughly a foot long by six inches wide and moving on six insect-like legs, the front has a camera and sample collecting equipment. The SRSCD can collapse down into a tube-like shape for transport with its control set.
Charles remained dedicated to his chosen science, biology, when he entered CalTech, choosing to major in microbiology specializing in immunology, choosing to enter his Doctoral candidacy application in that field in 2011. His research would lead him down a rabbit hole, however. Though the virus he based his research on presented little danger to healthy adults, a part of the dissertation's background research involved looking into CERA and its response protocols to an infectious outbreak. Though the section was small and only intended to provide context to a pair of data sets, what Charles found troubled him greatly and took up much of his spare time outside of research. He and his research assistant, a Microbiology undergrad named Felicia, compiled their findings on CERA's planning failures into a short report and presented it to CalTech's Microbiology Department head, Dr. Winston DuBois. DuBois found the report as interesting and worrying as the pair did, passing it to both CERA and his handlers at the Strategic Homeland Division. The Division paid special attention to his conclusions, which included a wide array of solutions and fixes, and began the process of recruiting Charles into the SHD as an agent specializing in Pandemic Responses in late 2009. For two years he worked in secret on how best to avoid a complete breakdown of the LA area's government and response structure in the event of a Pandemic, though none of it was in place when the Green Poison hit. Today, he is working with Felicia to develop a functioning vaccine for the Green Poison in addition to his other duties as an activated SHD Agent.

It would have been downright alarming if Charles hadn't always been a little odd, but when everything went to hell, it finally made sense. When the Green Poison first hit, she was one of the first affected in LA. The sickness almost killed her, if it wasn't for Charles carrying her to the lab and keeping her safe there while LA fell apart around them, she probably would have died, instead, she was one of the lucky 10% to make it through. She didn't ask questions when Charles began to bring in weapons and equipment, where did he get them? Didn't matter. Why did he have military body armor? She was puking her guts out, she didn't have time to think about that. Where was the medicine coming from? Her fever was almost killing her, she wasn't thinking about that.
When she finally began to get better and Charles moved her to a new safe house, he reintroduced her to his friends and told her the truth. They weren't drinking buddies, they were so much more, and they needed her help.
