Because he never really 'loved' his son, he cared a lot for his daughter but she had given up her life of luxury to go fight/colonize the frontier. The only person who kept them together was Jack Tobias Wife, and now that she died, they just drifted apart.

Oh I mean feel free. Visitors are always welcome in Lacaille. Hope you dont burn easy though, its a generally hot system, the planets are closer to the sun so bring sunscreen.

Ah okay. Do you think our characters would know each other during their time serving in the military? I assume with the size of the military that would be unlikely unless your character meets mine way later or your character was an extremely famous general.

Was your character serving 8 decades ago? If not it's even more unlikely that had met a general who yes is kinda a war hero, but he was not that popular as say the bastard son is. He was just a normal general, yeah he was a commoner with no noble background, but still an average general with nothing special about him.

Wait your character became a general in his 30s? When did he retire? My character would probably into prominence probably 4 to 5 decades ago. I actually find it ironic that it's the noble that wants to destroy feudalism instead of the commener.

Well no, but there was a news story about him in a somewhat popular Terran newspaper about him, also he became a general in his 40s.

Also he is no longer a commoner, he is a noble for his military service.

Also he retired in his 50s, just to let you know.

Yeah he'll probably be better off sticking to Desephioa, the climate there is cooler as its further away from the star than the other two. He might be able to survive near the poles of Valliane as well.

hmmmm... I might resubmit an app for Lady Portia as an aristocrat from an old family who owns Venus (or a portion thereof) as her personal fief - IRL, I think making money by owning farmland was historically more of an old money thing than a new money thing.
