Politically idk. But he is a hero of the Empire due to him holding back the Xeno tides. Literally he sounds like the better choice but I need that funding so I'll stick with the legitimate dude for now

He is currently the commander of the Fourth Frontier Flotilla and has defeated an incursion of hostile aliens, making him a hero back on Earth. He is rather apolitical and really only cares about keeping to his oath to protect the worlds of humanity from all threats. Once he learns that his father is dead things will get interesting.

Who is this Saint Kerazim fellow?

Saint Valentin Kerazim is the forefather of what would become House Kerazim. He was a noted leader and military commander, and was canonized by the religion of Lacaille 9352 as the patron saint of soldiers and military actions. Much of what allowed him to be canonized is that, despite his side losing the wars to control Desephioa, the capital of the system, he was famous for his honor and adherence to respect and discipline even towards his enemies.

He is also the namesake of the Knights Of Saint Kerazim, a military order located on one of the moons of Valliane, and who act as a sort of unofficial army for House Kerazim. It is illegal for any House to operate a military except for Paelleleus and Fullier, but Kerazim has managed to get around this due to the fact that many of their younger children join the Knights Of Saint Kerazim to make their names known. Therefore, the Knights Of Saint Kerazim have a lot of officers who come from House Kerazim, and consequently are particularly loyal/in the pocket of House Kerazim.
