For the first one, this might help. See also the foggara irrigation system the Garamantes used in the Sahara. Of course, in the case of the Garamantes making use of fossil water, the issue was that they eventually ran out after so many centuries of using a finite supply of underground water. For the second, looking at a map of the house crow's distribution, there are areas in the Middle East that they reside, mainly along the coast of the Persian Gulf and the Red Sea. From what I saw, they were probably introduced by ship to East Africa. As for the Persian Gulf, it wouldn't be too far for them to simply fly across the water from their native range that stretches from southern Iran all the way to southwest Thailand. As for the pet thing, I guess that's up to the OP but I don't see any reason why not. From what I recall from skimming some of the previous OOCs a while ago, I think someone once had a pet dog they made immortal.

“It is difficult for me to imagine what “personal liberty” is enjoyed by an unemployed hungry person. True freedom can only be where there is no exploitation and oppression of one person by another; where there is not unemployment, and where a person is not living in fear of losing his job, his home and his bread. Only in such a society personal and any other freedom can exist for real and not on paper.” -J. V. STALIN

I thought we agreed that the active civil war in China could be finished with that big battle via telegram - I don't see how one big battle is even unrealistic when the alternative for the rebels would have been to be defeated in detail.

They aren’t concerned about defeat in detail, because tactically China lacks the means to pin down their armies, and in the rare cases where her central armies have triumphed strategically other tribes have found opportunity to advance their agendas. So China retains a strong internal security problem, but some regions have been pacified.

Sure, that’s chill. I’m intrigued to see what you do with Grace, and Red China’s influence.

I look forwards to seeing you in the RP again! Maybe some bandits can run off to Japan, and the Chinese can follow?

Gonna be fun exploring how Hana has evolved during Grace's absence.Orostan wrote:I look forwards to seeing you in the RP again! Maybe some bandits can run off to Japan, and the Chinese can follow?
I think that would be a bit far for bandits to travel.

By bandits I mean a somewhat organized rebel group that just lost an incredibly violent civil war in China.
With the end of that civil war China has its own problems, but a group of bandit rebels fleeing for the edge of China's known world would have to be followed - especially considering that Aaron would see allowing rebels to flee to the one place he knows for a fact another time traveler could be as a risk that couldn't be taken.

Actually, I think that could be an interesting idea. I planned on the current head of the throne being a weakling and courtiers being terrified of the idea of Hana being swallowed by foreign powers if it doesn't have a competent leader, leading to Grace working to return to power. Maybe these rebels could side with Grace against the current Tennō because they believe she's their best bet against Aaron's wrath? If you could write up a post about them fleeing to Honshu, I could work on a post about them having an audience in the imperial court and the different nobles discussing & arguing the issue.
