Full Nation Name : French Democratic Republic
Short Nation Name : France
Flag / National Symbols: France Flag

Government Type : Socialist Federative Republic (de jure), one party dictatorship (de facto)

Official Political Ideology : Centrist Marxism (implementation varies...)
Head of State : Chairman René Imbot
Head of Government : General Secretary Georges Marchais

Government Description : On paper, the French Democratic Republic maintains many of the democratic institutions upheld by its predecessor: the French Workers' Federation. This means that it is technically a multi-party syndicalist republic, but the grim reality of modern Europe means that the country remains in a state of national emergency under the current ruling party. At lower levels, some degree of democracy is still maintained in order to placate the unruly masses, but as the situation stands the country is effectively a dictatorship.

Territory : Core France (no Alsace-Lorraine or Corsica), Walloonia
Territorial Ambitions : All of "natural" Greater France (Rhineland, Belgium, French Switzerland)
Capital City : Paris
Population : 49,600,000 French citizens and 2,800,000 foreign nationals according to the 1983 census. This number includes approximately 300,000 foreigners (Americans, Soviets, etc) and some 2 million refugees from Central Europe.

Majority/Official Culture : French

Majority/State Religion : None, religion is backwards superstition (a notable minority of the population is Catholic, but most Frenchmen are irreligious nowadays)

Major Industries / Economic sectors: Agriculture (bulk produce, wine, cheese, etc), various heavy industries such as steel production, car manufacturing, weapons production, and mining.

Amount of Industrialization : The level of economic development in the young French revolutionary state differs heavily by region, largely due to decades of Nazi economic and political domination. The northern half of the country: France's traditional industrial heartland, remains heavily developed due to direct administration by the German Reich's Waffen SS. The SS used the territory to supply itself and build a power base separate from that of Berlin, in the process building hundreds of factories and resource extraction zones. Hundreds of thousands of Frenchmen perished in the depths of this industrial hellscape, even after the German sphere's transition to robotic labor. Despite the violent expulsion of SS forces from the region, northern France's automated manufacturies, fusion powerplants, and dreary industrial parks continue to dominate most aspects of life. Once a symbol of France's oppression, the northern industrial zone now stands as a potential tool for the country's reconstruction.

Southern France on the other hand suffered a notably worse fate. As part of the non-occupied region, the French State (which formerly ruled the area) was forced by the German government to forcibly industrialize a large number of its cities and follow economic policy specifically tailored towards the maintenance of Hitler's "New Order". In other words, this meant agriculture. The vast fertile fields of Occitania would be turned into a series of German-dominated plantation farms, all dedicated to exporting cheap produce to the fatherland. Investment in non-agricultural infrastructure dropped drastically, leading to a stark increase in poverty amongst the population. This has seriously stifled the region's economic growth in the long term, and even nowadays southern France is much poorer than the north (despite having far fewer issues with pollution).

Economic Description : The French economy operates under a mixed syndicalist-nationalized manner: large industries such as steel and coal production are controlled by the government while various workers' cooperatives and communes are in charge of other sectors of lesser importance. The country is currently in a state of economic turmoil and disarray due to the recent civil war and post-war purges alongside a growing refugee crisis from Germany. Uneven industrial development and the far-reaching effects of over three decades of Nazi domination also means that much of the country is impoverished. This is a situation the revolutionary government hopes to change quickly.

Technological Level : Technology within France's world was highly uneven in development, but the tech base France uses is largely based on Wolfenstein with some elements of atompunk alongside the IRL 1980s as a baseline.

Fusion reactors were first developed by the Americans in the early 1960s, and reached the German sphere right before Nazi Germany imploded. The use of advanced carbon armor is also present throughout many militaries, as is the use of automated robotic soldiers (think sentries from fallout and kampfhunds from Wolfenstein). Military tech overall is quite advanced, probably 10-20 years ahead of the IRL 1980s in many areas with a few exceptions that don't quite fit (The Americans field cataphracts in their war against the aliens while the Nazis have energy weapons). Computers, despite looking like 1980s ones, function more akin to those from the late 20th and early 21st century. Basic artificial intelligence of sorts exists to some degree.

France, of course, never got to fully enjoy the benefits of living in such a rapidly developing world. While the country does possess a lot of military equipment and the means to produce it, France lags heavily in most civilian fields (most consumer goods seem stuck in the 60-70s).

Magic and other shenanigans? (If any exists) : Atompunk and Wolfenstein tech + some mecha (UN forces)

Military Description

Army: The army of the French Democratic Republic, also known as the French People's Revolutionary Army (FPRA), is composed of a mix of civilian volunteer militias and "professional" conscripted forces. The equipment it uses is highly varied, ranging from WW2-era French and German stockpiles to lend leased modern American weapons, but the bulk of the Army uses equipment that is nearly identical to that used by the 3rd Reich and its various puppet states (think Wolfenstein + 70-90s era German / NATO equipment, but with German WW2 calibers and from German companies). This does mean that the presence of numerous "modern" weapons systems such as guided munitions, missiles, and long-rod kinetic penetrators exist and are regularly used alongside more esoteric / advanced equipment (energy weapons, combat robots, combat exosuits, anti-gravity transports, etc). France possesses a decently powerful tank force of some 800 Leopard II and 1500 Leopard I tanks alongside numerous older vehicles. It also has a large number of missile systems and defenses thanks to the Germans (the Waffen SS feared a nuclear missile attack from the Americans).

By far the largest section of the FPRA comes in the form of various local militia units organized into a national guard - largely remnants of France's anti-Nazi revolutionary period and a carry down from the old French Workers' Federation's national defense policy. These militias are largely organized by canton and region, and lack uniformity in both equipment and training (some regional militias are comparable in quality to the standard army, others not so). Likewise, the national guard lacks heavy machinery and vehicles, relying more on guerilla tactics, portable AT / AA missiles, and sheer determination (and wine-induced rage) to overwhelm better-equipped enemies. There are currently 1.5 million national guard members in "active" (most are simply part timers) duty service, though this number generally fluctuates between 1-4 million.

Aside from the national guard, the regular army - also known as the Revolutionary Guard - makes up the remainder of the FRPA at some 750,000 strong. This full-time professional force is also largely descended from the various partisan movements of the past and relies on conscription in order to keep its numbers strong. It's a lot more uniform than the national guard and ironically closely resembles the armies fielded by the 3rd Reich due to it using much of the same equipment (even the uniforms and body armor, barring the lack of a swastika, look identical) and vehicles (The French use the Leopard 2 as much as the German Republic does). The Revolutionary Guard, while not quite on par with proper first-rate militaries, makes up for some of the difference with its high level of resolve and dedication to the French motherland. At the top of the revolutionary guard are a collection of 8 elite mechanized divisions made up of former French exiles. These units are near fanatical in their loyalty to France and will fight to the death against any would-be fascist invaders.

At the moment, there is also a small UN contingency force of 40,000 troops, primarily Americans. They field similarly advanced equipment to the French (including some 250 Abrams tanks) alongside a hundred first-second generation cataphracts and a few units of "panzer infantry" (read: fallout-style power armor units). The UN is largely here to control the ongoing refugee crisis.

Navy: The French Navy is largely theoretical at the moment and only controls a handful of nuclear-powered submarines (almost all of the submarines in the setting are nuclear-powered) and light surface ships. It possesses no real power projection capabilities.

Air Force: The French airforce is comprised of a total of approximately 1800 aircraft, mostly 1970-80s airframes that would be common throughout NATO and the Western Bloc. The distribution between fighters and interceptors is relatively even while the country only possesses a few units of strategic bombers. That said, France does also have a small force of 12 sub-orbital heavy bombers capable of striking targets from low orbit and a strategic missile force (made up of various tactical missiles, theatre ballistic missiles, and a small IRBM force). Also featured within the French arsenal are a dozen Haunebu-V.

National Goals : Survive, reclaim old French lands, rebuild the country and economy.

History : Prior to the 2nd World War, the world was a largely "normal" if divided place. The devastation inflicted by the Great War led to a wave of revolutions that overturned many of the old reactionary regimes around the world: America, Britain, France, Russia all fell to the forces of socialism while the rest of the planet struggled to carry onwards. Eventually, the rise of fascism would present itself as a major if an ultimately surmountable challenge to a large and increasingly powerful 3rd Internationale. Or so that was what everyone thought.

As the clock of time ticked forwards, little is known what happened or why it did so, but history was forever changed. The Nazi regime, already unlike the one those from OTL were familiar with, would gain immense technological and industrial prowess after scouring the catacombs of Anatolia and Egypt for ancient Jewish technology, something the rest of the world was completely unaware of. Truth be told, nobody knew what to make of it when the Nazi war machine roared into life during WW2 and began fielding weapons beyond the capabilities of the Internationale, but the world endured. Technological advancement sped up at an exponential pace, with the Americans and Soviets doing whatever they could to match the new superpowered Axis. In Europe, German secured hegemony over much of the continent and pushed deep into the USSR, taking Moscow and Leningrad. In Asia, Japan was gradually beaten back by combined Soviet-Chinese-American forces. The war continued into the 1940s, draining manpower and resources on all sides. There appeared to be no end to the fighting.

In 1948, the world came to a standstill after a limited nuclear exchange wiped a dozen cities off the map. Peace was made, and unfortunately for the French, it was a peace that would place their nation under the jackboot of Nazi Germany. The country was split in half: the north directly incorporated into the Reich (and later spun off as an SS run state) and the south put under the rule of a weak Occitanian puppet regime. Southern France was quickly roped into the German "Pact of Steel", its economy and politics completely under the control of Berlin. For the first time in centuries, France ceased to exist as a country.

It isn't an understatement to say that the French lost everything. Their independence quashed, the French people were subject to countless cruelties as their new Nazi masters sought to eradicate the region's identity and assimilate them into Greater Germany. Hundreds of thousands of "enemies of the Reich" ranging from school teachers to intellectuals and former French politicians were promptly arrested and shot en masse, their bodies dumped into mass graves that dotted the French countryside. In Northern France, now simply known as "Reichskommisariat Burgundia", French education was outlawed and entire libraries worth of French literature were burned. People lived in fear of the Nazi authorities, which became ever more oppressive as the spread of high technology allowed for the use of robotic monsters and advanced surveillance to suppress the populace. In the south (Occitania), Nazi economic policy forced the puppet government to deindustrialize into an agricultural society. Millions were forced out of the cities throughout the 1950s and many died during the chaos that ensued, the Occitanian government unable to support its own people as it exported millions of tons of grain to the Reich. In such conditions, desperation and dissent grew.

As Germany grew increasingly fragmented in post-war years, the Waffen SS would eventually turn RK Burgundia into its own industrialized hellhole of oppression, seeking to utilize the state as a regional HQ in the event a major power struggle kicked off in Germany proper. Hundreds of factories and resource refineries sprung up from the ground, built off the back of slave labor derived from the local populace. For every new fusion reactor and arms manufactory the Waffen SS built, thousands of French, Jews, and other "undesirables" perished. The French city of Rouen - largely destroyed during the end of WW2 by an atomic bomb - was rebuilt into the Rodomo Industrial Complex, a massive series of interlocked industrial facilities, energy plants, and fortifications that spanned dozens of square kilometers. In this one complex alone, over 300,000 Frenchmen would meet their end from 1952 - 1960. Life in Burgundy brutal and often short: many a civilian would inadvertently disappear due to the SS's machinations. People yearned for a future... but found nothing but darkness.

Germany ultimately imploded in 1964, its various factions unable to agree upon a successor to an aging Goering. The Waffen SS in Burgundia, led by one Reinhard Heydrich, would ultimately secede to form their own "Orthodox National Socialist" state. The French people, seeing the opportunity, attempted to revolt but were brutally suppressed. Heydrich would double down on the Germanization and industrialization of Burgundia, ultimately creating his own nuclear warheads and missiles by the late 1960s along with an elaborate ring of defenses that surrounded his fief. In Southern France, the Occitanian government quickly fell into chaos and was overtaken by the French Resistance by the late 1960s, almost triggering a Burgundian invasion that was narrowly dissuaded by threats of Internationale intervention. In the meantime, Germany remained fractured into the early 1970s, its factions unable to come to terms with one another.

Ultimately, Heydrich's efforts towards building a self-proclaimed "fortress of national socialism" would end in failure. The loss of Southern France and the Ukraine immensely strained the German sphere's food supplies, and in Burgundy a combination of mismanagement and deliberate favoritism of German over native SS units ultimately ended in chaos. A major famine began in 1973 and dragged into 1974, ultimately killing over 2 million people. Native French SS units, deprived of the same rations and treatment as their German counterparts, broke away from a dying Heydrich's control. This was followed by a large-scale uprising amongst the nation's civilian populace, which had been heavily aided by both the 3rd Internationale and southern French partisans. In a panic, the Burgundian regime attempted to launch its nuclear arsenal, only to be stopped by a combination of UN commandos and native resistance units. The few missiles that did fire were stopped by SDI systems in Britain. As the smoke cleared and it became obvious that Burgundy wasn't long for the world, the Free French government acted.

200,000 troops under the command of an aging Charles De Gaulle landed on the beaches of Normandy and Britanny where they fought tooth and nail against the fanatical SS defenders. It would take another 3 years for the region to be fully secured, and another year for the shaky German Republic to recognize France's independence. France was finally free, albeit a wreck of a nation permanently scarred by thirty years of Nazi rule. The New French government quickly sought to solidify its power and began a mass purge of suspected collaborators and even some of the former rebel groups. It was considered a necessary move at the time but inevitably led to massive amounts of political instability. De Gaulle died a popular leader, but none of his successors would enjoy such.

While France struggled to rebuild, the rest of the world went to war. In the late 1950s and early 1960s, American explorers on Mars had encountered monstrosities from beyond the solar system which proved to be incredibly hostile. What followed was a brutal lunar conflict ending in UN defeat, paving the way towards an alien invasion of the Earth. Landing in the Middle East, the "BETA" would wage a war of total annihilation against humanity, leading to tens of millions of deaths and far more refugees. Military technology took off, and culminated in the creation of advanced combat mechs and weapons systems, all of which flew over the heads of the French. The French state was faced with massive problems it couldn't hope to solve anytime soon, and adopting new "experimental miltech" was not on the minds of the French leadership. Chairman René Imbot was convinced that when push came to shove, France would ultimately have to fight on its own and purposely stonewalled most UN attempts to open up his country, fearing foreign influence.

Nonetheless, the frontlines of the war eventually made their way into Europe. A refugee crisis of massive proportion developed as tens of millions of Central and Eastern Europeans packed their bags and fled towards the west. Despite immense pressure from its allies, the French government was incredibly stubborn and uncooperative with the UN, refusing to base more than 50,000 UN troops at a time and directly opposing the UN's open refugee policies. Millions of Central Europeans: primarily Germans but also including a sizable number of Czechs, Poles, and Serbo-Croatians made their way to France where a majority (especially the Germans) were driven back. Or at least the French tried: ultimately there were far too many people streaming in and the French military was physically incapable and unwilling to shoot everyone, especially given the presence of UN observers. Ultimately, hundreds of thousands of refugees would end up crowding camps throughout north-eastern France where they'd be subject to poor living conditions and overcrowding. There isn't much France can do about this.

It is now 1983, and France finds itself on edge and surrounded by trouble on all sides. To the east, the alien invaders have finally broken through the German defense lines and are beelining towards Berlin, to the south the Iberian Federation has imploded and led to waves of northbound refugees, and to the north, it appears that the UN has finally had enough of Rene Imbot's "overly uncooperative and incompetent" regime and is preparing to launch a large scale intervention force. The economy remains a disaster while thousands within both the government and various areas of civil society clamor for change. Only time will tell whether or not France crawls out from the depths or falls into further calamity.

Full Nation Name : Kievan Rus Union
Short Nation Name : Kievan Rus
Flag / National Symbols: flag

Government Type : Totalitarian regime
Official Political Ideology : Authoritarianism
Head of State : Supreme Patriarch Luka Jindrak
Head of Government : Grand Director Viktor Kachusov
Government Description : Kievan Rus's government is an interesting situation. It is a union between two different factions with two different goals. The Grand Director officially leads the nation as the commander of all the human forces in the region. However, due to his relationship with the Black Legion and the alliance between the Russian Empire and the Rymes Triarch, the Supreme Patriarch has some government liberties. For example, the Supreme Patriarch has the right to execute anybody whom he deems to be corrupted. They have been granted this power to prevent widespread demonic corruption through society. The Supreme Patriarch also can veto plans from Grand Director if it would expose the union to demonic corruption. Thankfully for the Grand Director, the Supreme Patriarch only intervene in manners dealing with demonic corruption.

Territory : The rest of Ukraine, Smolensk, Bryansky District, Gorod Kursk, and Belarus
Territorial Ambitions :
Capital City : Kiev. The city is designed like an impregnable military fortress. The city's interior is home to the Rymes Triarch and one of the Kievan Rus' largest forges. There is little room for recreation and housing areas.
Population : 21 million

Majority/Official Culture : Slavic

Majority/State Religion : Slavic paganism and Machinism

Major Industries / Economic sectors: Arms Production and Military/Defense Research
Amount of Industrialization : Heavily Industrialized forges, which forces the government to design the fortress with smokestacks to help ventilate the inside of the fortress. It is said that there is so much smog that one can't even see skies above the fortress.
Economic Description : The Kievan Rus are in a perpetual state of a collapsing economy. The only reason why it hasn't collapsed is because of Russia and its constant supply trains. Due to their current situation, their economy is completely dedicated to war production. There is no rich or poor as individual wealth don't exist in the nation. Instead, they are motivated by the fact that if they fail their job, it will mean death and eternal torture.

Technological Level : Dieselpunk with small futuristic elements
Magic and other shenanigans? : Magitech soldiers who can use their demonic corruption to channel powers from gods. There is a downside as the demons can use the weak-minded and the recently deceased to gain access to the real world. The stronger the Magitech soldiers are, the stronger the demon trying to get access. The worst case is when a dedicated mage dies or falls to corruption as it causes a demon portal to open and allow a horde of demons to pour through. Though practically almost every soldier can use magic, less than 20% of them can utilize it as a gamechanger. Most men can only do magic in short bursts as they can't effectively use the demonic corruption to their advantage.

Military Description
Technically, the whole population is enlisted in the military either as reserves or active personnel. Every single citizen goes through military training and is expected to deploy if needed. However, it would not be beneficial if everyone was fighting. Thus, the Grand Director split the population into two: active and reserves. The reserves would only be used if the nation was in dire straits. They are used to construct structures and supply lines. The active personnel is further divided into four sections: the Northern Army, Central Army, Southern Army, and Eastern Army. The Northern Army holds the northern front, the central army the central front, and the Southern Army the southern front. The Eastern Army is there to assist any Armies with their defenses and hold the final fallback line. All these forces are a part of the Black Legion. The Black Legion is a special military front made up of only Magitech soldiers with various levels of corruption. No one in the Black Legion is free from demonic corruption, and it was created for this very reason. Russia didn't want impure humans because they are targets for demons, so they organize the Black Legion as a suicidal military front. The impure humans would use the last of their lifespan claiming back the Earth for the pure.

The Black Legion aren't the only military forces operating in the Kievan Rus' Union. The Rymes Triarch also has troops in the area to maintain the forges, help the Black Legion, and keep an eye on the demonic corruption within the Black Legion. They make a small portion of the population and armed forces. They have 15,500 security forces spread out through the nation, also serving as Kievan Rus' scientists. Their soldiers have more advanced equipment than the Black Legion so that the Rymes Triarch can easily put down Black Legion detachments. Their tech level is more futuristic focused on power armor, mechs, and robots. A downside to this advanced tech is that it is only usable by their species, the Venraii, and they can only offer the downgraded version to the Black Legion. Hence the name, Magitech soldiers would utilize the Venraii's tech and magic to combat the demon hordes.

Another military force besides the Black Legion and the Rymes Triarch is the Russian Imperial Army. They number 200,000 men strong. Half of their armed forces are chekists spread out through the region to ensure loyalty to Russia. They also monitor new prisoners brought into the region and disappear people detrimental to Russia. Russia is happy with Kievan Rus's success, but they don't want it to be a threat post-war. They keep track of people who would be dangerous in post-war efforts. The other half garrison vital areas to Russia.
It is not an understatement to say every Black Legion and Rymes Triarch soldier has the combat potential of a fireteam. However, due to every death bringing demons into the real world, their full combat potential is never reached. It is not uncommon for the soldiers to create a firefight in their own lines to stop the demonic incursion before it gets out of hand.

Army:

Black Legion

The army compositions of the Northern, Central, and Southern armies are similar and number to around 3 million. Each Black Legion soldier specializes in one of the Kievan Rus's deities: Ursun, Perun, Dazhbog, Stribog, Simargl, Mokosh, Hors, and Veles. Followers of Ursun are Kievan Rus's shock cavalry as each of their ride truck-sized bears into battle. They wear rune-enhanced armor that boosts their strength to carry heavy anti-infantry and anti-monster weapons or enhance their close combat potential. Perun's followers utilize the mechs and magical weapons granted by the Rymes Triarch. They oversee Kievan Rus's artillery and armored forces. Dazhbog's followers blind their foes with light magic and are Kievan Rus's fast attacking troops as they can use light to teleport across the battlefield. Stribog's followers help coordinate air attacks and are Kievan Rus's aerial ground troops. Simargl's followers decimate the battlefield with fire. Mokosh is only followed by women who use their powers to heal and determine someone's expiration date. Hors's followers help dampen the demons' corruption and revitalize former demonic lands. Veles's followers utilize Slavic folklore to assist Kievan Rus's armed forces.

The Eastern Army numbers to 2 million and follow the same army composition as the others.

Rymes Triarch

Their forces number up to 18,000 with the inclusion of their robotic units. There are 2,500 robots currently stationed in Kievan Rus. They split their military forces into 18 chapters. Each chapter has about one thousand Venraii soldiers. The Rymes Triarch's military focuses on hitting hard and mobility. The majority of their forces use power armor. There are around 100 grav-tanks, 10 heavy transports, 400 various mech suits in their arsenal.

Imperial Russian Army

They operate as a post-WW2 USSR army complemented with artillery, tanks, and trucks. There are about 100,000 men in this force.

Navy:

  • 3 destroyers

Air Force:

  • 250 bombers
  • 375 fighters
  • 10 transport planes

National Goals :

  • Create a functional Society
  • Demilitarize
  • Uniting the Slavic people

History :
The Kievan Rus' Union's story starts near the onset of the planned Brusilov offensive. On the day of the offensive, the Russian forces encountered the weirdest movement from the Germans and Austria-Hungarians. They were running toward the Russian lines with no coherence, as if they were fleeing from something. The Russians didn't have to wait long to see what they were running from as a horde of demons followed them closely. If this wasn't bizarre already, titanic size demons beam down from the sky, killing soldiers where they landed. There were reports of floating temples across the battlelines eradicating defense structures with lasers. Advanced alien forces trail behind the demon horde providing supporting fire. Needless to say, the Eastern front collapsed under ten minutes.

The aliens and demons made heavy advances toward Moscow. The relentless assault ended at sunset, with the Russians losing over 50km of land in the span of 12 hours. The survivors came to a mutual understanding to put aside their national differences to survive against this unknown and terrifying threat. Unfortunately for the survivors, their night was long from over. The survivors didn't know that being around and fighting demons exposed them to demonic corruption. This corruption made them susceptible to demon's mental attacks. Throughout the night, soldiers and civilians transformed into demons and wreaked havoc amongst the survivors. Again, the survivors fled for safety as it took too much firepower to bring one demon down. The Russian front's survivors got a small break as the aliens and demons focus their attention on conquering the Balkans.

The following months saw the same pattern at a slower pace as if the invaders were enjoying slowly torturing the Eastern front refugees. During this time, the Russian government also learned that the survivors were susceptible to demon mental attacks. The Russian Empire decided to deny entry to all survivors from the Eastern Front. It was a bad time to be a survivor as they were trapped between an encroaching demon horde and hostile Russian soldiers. Similar situations happened to the refugees coming from the Balkans as they fled to Russia via the Black Sea. In the end, these new refugees were funneled into the region with the Eastern Front refugees.

The demon horde would continue forcing the survivors to retreat to the Russian lines, where they would be held back until a significant amount of them made it across the border. Then, the Russian government would abandon those stationed there and create a new border. This abandonment help encourage the Russian soldiers and citizens to be more hostile toward the refugees. It was like the Salem Witch trials were happening all over again. Innocent civilians and soldiers got toss over the border without a question. However, the worst part occurred when the Russian government deems that area as unrecoverable. The people who got wrongly accused would take their revenge on their accusers. It was anarchy.
This state of anarchy helped the communists in Russia gain traction and support as the Tsar's government became more tyrannical with each passing day. It was around this time that the refugees in no man's land started to organize themselves. The development was partly due to the fact that large amounts of the refugees were getting visions from the gods. The gods told the refugees that a man would rise amongst them and lead them to a new Age of Man. This man would be their champion.

His name was Faelyn, and he is considered to be Kievan Rus' first leader. Once he made his appearance, the refugees started banding under his flag and helped pacify no man's land. It was a new age of magic as the refugees learned that they use the gods to transform their corruption into magic. Faelyn's new army helped slow down the demonic horde's advance. However, his primary focus was attacking the Russian front. He wanted to liberate Russia from the tyrannical Tsar. It confused many of his followers as they didn't understand his fixation with the Tsar. It wasn't the only confusing thing about Faelyn as he also never revealed his face. Meanwhile, in Moscow, the Tsar easily put down the communist uprising with the premise that they were collaborating with the invaders. Unfortunately for Nicholas II, this would not be the last communist uprising.

The culmination of these events caused a headache for the Tsar. It was now 1920. He had to deal with the communist uprisings and the upset citizens for the past four years. To make it worst, the demon horde and Faelyn's army were right outside Moscow. Around this time, the Venraii made their entrance seeing that Tsar was in a desperate position. They would lend support to the Tsar as long as he promises to give them unquestionable authority and support their efforts. Of course, their authority would only be lower than the Tsar. At first, he disagreed, but he changed his mind the next day as Moscow became a battlefield. Faelyn's forces, the communist rebels, Aelves, and Russian forces were battling each other in the streets. He agreed to their demands.

Instantly, the Venraii took action. They sent their mechs, robots, soldiers to support the Russian forces. The tide started to change with the entrance of these fresh troops. It forced each side to reveal their trump card to keep their foothold in the city. The Aelf's leader took direct action in the conflict and led Aelves' troops for the first time since the invasion started. Faelyn led his personal guard into the fray to assist where he was needed. Each of these forces decimated the areas that they went into, leaving only carnage in their wake.
Eventually, the Big three met in the center of the battlefield, the Alexander Palace, where the Tsar stayed for safety. The Big three were Faelyn, the Venraii leader, and the Aelves leader. It was here that Faelyn revealed his true identity as Nicholas II from the far future. He was here to stop the deal between the Venraii and the present-day Tsar. Without his interference, the Venraii would repel Aelves from Earth and save humanity from their doom. Shortly after their victory, the Venraii would assert themselves as the master of the human species. This event was only possible with the Tsar's faithful support of the Venraii during the Reconquest campaigns. Humanity would slowly go extinct under the rule of the Venraii. Nicholas II regretted his decision as he watched humanity suffer because of him. He was basically a figurehead for the Venraii's rule, and the worst part was that they made him immortal so that he could see the consequences of his decision. Countless eons later, the Venraii would expand their rule across the universe slowly choking life from every planet. Nicholas II used his immortality to develop a plan to go back in time to prevent this future. The funny part was that he had to seek aid from the Aelves' remnants to create the gods to help him in his plans. Finally, he used the Venraii's time machine to go back in time.

This accusation caused the battlefield to go silent as everyone watched the Venraii leader to see if the accusation was true. The Venraii leader's silence backed Faelyn's monologue. No one knew who threw the first blow, but it was an all-out brawl between the Big three once it happened. The bout initiated the battle that would be marked forever in the history books. It was like seeing a battle between the gods with how much devastation each of them caused with each blow. After around 50 bouts, Faelyn sent the Venraii leader and the Aelves leader crashing into the Alexander Palace. He followed closely behind. The fight continued inside. However, no one outside could see it anymore. After ten minutes, the palace collapsed, and a Nicholas II emerged from the ruin, bloody and hurt.

Additionally, the Aelves and demons retreated from the city, leaving the rebels, Faelyn's host, Russian soldiers, and Venraii left in the city. The Venraii went into ruins and pulled out their leader's corpse. Once the Venraii had the body, they withdrew from the battle.

The city fell into an uneasy truce for the next few days as the Venraii visited Nicholas II daily. The humans waited anxiously to see which Nicholas II survived the battle. He recovered a week later, but the thing was that this Nicholas II didn't act like either Nicholas II. He greeted both the Venraii and Faelyn's host warmly. It was why the nation didn't protest against his decision to utilize Faelyn's host, the Russian army, and the Venraii to fight against the demon horde. Everything felt unreal as even the Venraii cancel the deal and freely assist the new Nicholas II. Needless to say, the communist uprising was the new alliance's first target. After the uprising was dealt with, Nicholas II reorganized Faelyn's host into the Black Legion. The Venraii would monitor the Black Legion for demonic corruption and serve as the Black Legion's weapons manufacturer.

Under the rule of Nicholas II, the Black Legion's recruitment was voluntary for most. For impure humans, it was either joining the Black Legion or being quarantined in Siberia. A fair amount of impure enlisted as the Black Legion gave them the chance to control their corruption and use magic. Thus, the first Reclamation crusade began with the replenished and reequipped Black Legion and Venraii forces. It took four reclamation crusades and a decade to take back the lands bordering Belarus, the Baltic States, and Ukraine.
Around the end of the fifth Reclamation crusade, Nicholas II died from his battle scars, and the Venraii reformed themselves as the Rymes Triarch. The Russian Empire had entered a golden age under Nicholas II. The population's birth rate became higher than the death rate, and people were resettling reclaimed land. The economy boomed as Russia became the beacon of hope to all of humanity. Countries all around the world funnel resources into Russia for them to hold back the invaders. The Rymes Triarch promised the public that they had purged the elements that caused Faelyn to travel back in time.

The story of the Kievan Rus' Union darkens with the ascension of Tzarina Katarin in 1931, who claimed she was a lost-long relative of Nicholas II. The people couldn't even protest against this claim as Nicholas II had named her his successor before he died. She wanted the Black Legion to take the fight to the Aelves' home territory in Germany. This new Crusade she was planning would take back Berlin, and it would be the first Crusade to involve the Russian Army. The Crusade would be known as the Crusade to end all Crusades. The Russian government promoted the counteroffensive to their populace and the rest of the world. Russia received volunteers from across the globe as they finished their preparation. Before the beginning of the campaign, the crusade forces number up to 35 million.

At first, the Crusade went well as the demons and Aelves hadn't started a large counteroffensive since the Aelf leader died. This fact would end when the Crusade took back nearly half of Kievan Rus's current land. Some of the battles against the demons would last all day long. The demonic resurgence would have crippled the Crusade if it wasn't for the appearance of gods. With their assistance, the Crusade turned the tide and pushed the demons' counteroffensive back. The toll on the Crusade was heavy as they lost nearly 5 million men in the span of a week. Despite their losses, the Crusade decided to continue with the hope that it was the only counteroffensive. Unfortunately, this hope would be very wrong as the Crusade struggle to obtain Kievan Rus' current borders. They were forced to end it short when they were only 18 million of them left.

It was with the Crusade's failure that the Tzarina reveal her true intentions. Her first directive was forcing all impure humans, not in Siberia, into the Black Legion and closing the border to the failed Crusade. She gave the Rymes Triarch the authority to eliminate any demonic threat within the Black Legion at any cost. She utilized people's uneasiness with impurity to crack down on impure humans. Her most infamous action was massacring millions of impure within Siberia. In order to appease the world with the Crusade's failure, she supplied the Crusade's remnants and ordered them to build fortresses to hold back the demon horde. Shortly after, she organized the failed Crusade as the Kievan Rus' Union.

She informed the world that she wanted to make sure that the world stayed in the hands of the pure. Russia would use the impure as their sword and shield to clear out the demons. Her final message to the world was that if they had any impure or criminals, they could send them to Kievan Rus'. At first, the world was aghast with this change of behavior. However, once the first nation sent their shipment of "recruits", every other nation started sending theirs. It took five years for Kievan Rus' to build the fortresses at the cost of nearly 8 million lives.
It was around 1937 when the Rymes Triarch came out with a combat suit to protect pure humans from corruption. The Tzarina didn't inform the world about this and used the new suits to employ Russian soldiers within their puppet state Kievan Rus. Half of these soldiers would be garrisoned in locations critical to Kievan Rus' society, in case they ever decide to rebel. The other half would actively seek to reduce Russian and purity dissent in Kievan Rus'. With this force, she empowered the Grand Director and the Supreme Patriarch as Kievan Rus's leaders. At this point, Kievan Rus' had become humanity's bulwark against the endless demon hordes.

Much didn't occur for the next nine years as Kievan Rus' maintained the status quo. Kievan Rus' didn't lose any land, but it didn't gain any either. Slowly, the nation became built entirely for waging war and defending. Cities became fortresses and were home to forges that only produced military equipment and building materials to build more fortresses and forges. The forges are constantly producing more equipment than the land can support. This situation force Kievan Rus' to depend on Russia for resources. No land was spared for farming except the border touching Russia because there is no point in planting if demons are constantly raiding. The land is covered by numerous train tracks running from warehouses to fortress. There are bunkers and trenches as far as the eye can see. It is rather a depressive place to live as all the inhabitants know is war.

Military Description

Army: The Burgundian-SS are among the most effective and elite fighting forces in the world. Made up of both soldiers from Ordenstaat Burgundy's army and the armies of Reinhard Heydrich who have defected to Himmler, many of these soldiers have been battle hardened due to their participation in the German Civil War. Add that with their already extremely intense training under the savage Burgundian System, their suicidally fanatical loyalty to the SS cause and their modern top of the line equipment, and this adds up to an extremely potent fighting force which, even at their relatively "modest" size of just under half a million men, would make even the mightiest militaries pause.

Yet not all is well within these armed forces: fractured loyalties to different SS warlords may cause a loss in cohesiveness and even infighting among the troops. Furthermore, these SS soldiers are so fanatical, that they are unnecessarily suicidal at best and, at worst, mutinous at the slightest sight of supposed ideological defection. Least to say, the words "compromise" and "retreat" are foreign to these men, more likely to execute their own officers for cowardice then fall back without a fight.

Total: 807,000 (618,000 SS, 180,000 Heer)

The SS also fields a large stockpile of mechanised and armoured equipment, including 10,877 Trucks, 2,870 APCs and 475 Self Propelled Artillery pieces. Most impressive, however, are the SS' proud and infamous Panzer Divisions, leading the Burgundian Spearhead with 2,456 modern MBTs.

Notable units include:
  • 1st Burgundische SS-Panzer-Division "Leibstandarte Heinrich Himmler"
    -Type: Armoured Division
    -Size: Division (15,000 soldiers, 460 Leopard 1s)
-Bio: An elite panzer division typically assigned as part of Reichsführer Heinrich Himmler's bodyguard, yet currently occupies the Rhineland as a buffer state against any of Burgundy's enemies.
    -Commander: SS-Oberst-Gruppenführer Wilhelm Monkhe
  • SS-Totenkopfverbände
    -Type: Bandenbekämpfung/Death Squads/Camp Guards
-Size: 2x Panzergrenadier Divisions, 4x Waffen Grenadier Divisions (62,000 soldiers, 810 APCs, 288 MBTs, 1,180 Trucks, 64 SPGs)
-Bio: Tasked with the mass murder of those considered "Untermensch," the SS-Totenkopfverbände are among the most ruthless among the already ruthless SS. With hearts as hard as tank armour, it is their ultimate destiny to re-ignite and finish the Final Solution.
    -Commander: SS-Obergruppenführer Adolf Eichmann
  • Sicherheitsdienst Divisions
    -Type: Bandenbekämpfung/Intelligence/Ideological Monitoring
    -Size: 2x Divisions (21,000 soldiers, 180 APCs, 576 Trucks)
-Bio: Similar to the rifle divisions of the NKVD, these armed frontline units of the Sicherheitsdienst Intelligence Service rove through the countryside, countering any partisan actions and keeping ideological order and cohesion among the vast SS Legions, as well as performing special covert tasks unsuited to the typical SS grunt.
    -Commander: SS-Standartenführer Klaus Barbie
  • SS-Kommandotruppe Rapier
    -Type: Special Forces
    -Size: Division (13,000 commandos)
-Bio: The absolute best of the best, these special forces have served under their infamous commander Otto Skorzeny for over 20 years. Specialising in covert operations, their lethality comes not just from their abilities as combat soldiers but also as infiltrators. Yet these men are far more loyal to their commander than to the Reich, and the loyalty of Skorzeny has always been called into question.
    -Commander: Obersturmbannführer Otto Skorzeny
  • Volkswache
    -Type: Penal Battalions
    -Size: 2x Divisions (8,000 "soldiers")
-Bio: Recruited by the former SS-General turned self-declared Duke of Bavaria, the Bandit King Sepp Dietrich, these men were recruited by the Mad Duke from prisons and insane asylums across Bavaria and given the opportunity of a lifetime: swear loyalty and be allowed to loot, pillage, murder and rape to their heart's content. And really, how could they refuse?
    -Commander: Duke Sepp Dietrich

Navy:
-2x River Monitors
-20x E-Boats
-6x Nuclear U-Boats

Air Force:
-300x Me-1110 Fighter Jets
-150x Horten Ho 229 Interceptors

-Reconquer the territories of the German Reich
-Spread the Burgundian System across the globe
-Realise Himmler's vision of a pure Aryan world by ANY means necessary (Radical Himmlerites)

History: The Second World War broke out on September 1, 1939, and it was there that began the road of Axis domination. First, Poland fell, then the low countries, then France, then the Balkans. The British were pushed out of Africa by German and Italian forces, who marched through the streets of Alexandria and, with the help of Arab Nationalists, took the Middle East. Then Operation Barbarossa, the largest land invasion in history, began in 1941: with Soviet forces under Premier Nikolai Bukharin overrun after a bloody one year campaign, with the swastika flying over Moscow by 1942.

With the capitulation of the Soviet Union and the destruction of the American Fleet at the Battle of Midway by Japan, the Germans turned their full attention to the stubborn island nation of Britain. The Irish Republican Army, desiring to exploit the opportunity, took over Ireland in a violent coup and let in a wave of Axis troops to invade Britain from the west. The situation for Britain became worse when Operation Sealion came and German forces crossed the channel with the Royal Navy, brought low by defeats in the Mediterranean and constant air attacks by the Luftwaffe, was sidelined.

Yet the British, with the support of American troops, held on and put up a stubborn fight. Just when it looked like another stalemate the likes of WWI would occur, everything changed when a lone long-ranged German bomber, flying all the way from Europe to Japanese bases in Midway, dropped a single payload on Hawaii. The islands were engulfed in a bright flash, as 50,000 Americans would lose their lives to the very first Heisenberg Atomic Device.

The US, fearful of a nuclear strike on the mainland, withdrew from Britain and offered an immediate ceasefire. Though the remaining British fought the Axis stubbornly in the fields, the hills and the very streets of London, all would ultimately be in vain as the sun would finally set on the British Empire.

With that, the old world had fully fallen to the Axis. The Germans formed the Einheit, or Unity, Pakt among its many allies and puppet states, ushering in an age of German hegemony. They immediately sought to bring about their visions of a New European Order per the tenants of National Socialism: however, even in this moment of triumph, the tapestry would begin to unravel.

First was the Atlantropa Project, an attempt to dam the Strait of Gibraltar to drain the Mediterranean to open up more farmland. The project, done without the consent of Germany's Mediterranean allies, predictably ruined their economies as they began to drain the sea, leading to the Italian Empire, Turkey and Iberia abandoning the Einheitpakt and forming their own rival alliance, "The Triumvirate."

Next, under the strain of maintaining such extravagant building projects such as the rebuilding of Berlin into Germania, attempting to rebuild Europe as well as maintaining efforts to exterminate all "subhumans" in their eastern territories, the German economy would collapse in 1950, leading to a decade of economic crisis in Europe.

Just as the situation seemed to be stabilising, a threat from the East pushed back that progress as the remnants of the Red Army formed the West Russian Revolutionary Front, and launched a devastating attack into the Greater German Reich's eastern territories. The West Russian War as it would come to be called, grew bloody as the Wehrmacht struggled to fight against the Russian forces. Things would become only worse as Himmler and the SS, disillusioned by the Economic Collapse of 1950 and believing that National Socialism had become corrupt and decadent, planned to launch a coup.

Fortunately for the Reich, the situation quickly stabilised as the West Russian Revolutionary Front collapsed into a collection of squabbling warlords, and the SS coup was discovered and crushed, with Himmler and many of his followers exiled to their own private fief in France. This fief would come to be called "Ordenstaat Burgundy," where Himmler could apply his own extreme form of National Socialism which would be labelled as the "Burgundian System."

The Reich began to stabilise, abandoning its initial efforts of extermination in exchange for the nationwide enslavement of all "subhumans" to rebuild and maintain the economy. Yet again, however, as Der Führer Adolf Hitler's health began to rapidly decline at the turn of the decade, the Reich was split into four factions: The Conservatives, who desired to maintain the current status quo of National Socialism, led by Martin Bormann. The Militarists, who desire a return for Germany to its glory days and for it to once again march to war against her enemies, led by Hermann Göring. The Reformists, who thought that National Socialism had gone too far and that now it was time to reform the Reich into something less radical and more stable, led by Albert Speer. And finally, the SS, who adhere to Himmler's Burgundianism and wish to bring the extremist ideology to Germany, led by Reinhard Heydrich.

Heydrich and his SS were extremely unpopular in Germany due to Himmler's attempted coup, with many speculating that Hitler only allowed them to remain due to his respect of "The Man with the Iron Heart" and his ruthlessness. Yet no one could've predicted exactly how far that respect went when, in 1962, days after the Nazis beat the Americans and Japanese in the Space Race, becoming the first men to land on the moon, Hitler declared that Reinhard Heydrich would be his successor.

Outraged and unable to accept that such a man would become Führer, the other three factions and their leaders began to draw up plans to fight, as Heydrich began his own preparations for what he knew was coming. Heydrich began a brutal campaign of suppression and preparation: crushing student riots, using his position as Director of the SD to launch sabotage espionage operations against his rivals, diverting resources and scrambling communications.

It all came to a head when, in 1963, Hitler would fall into a coma and pass away. Soon afterwards, the leaders escaped to their respective strongholds, and only a week after his death, the Reich would collapse into Civil War.

Millions would fall in the fighting as the four-way Civil War went on, bringing destruction and death to Germany not known since WW2. Yet eventually Heydrich and his SS, with Himmler's Burgundian support, would emerge triumphant: defeating his rivals and reuniting the Reich under Himmler's shadow. Yet as many grieved and wept, Heydrich was finally brought into Himmler's inner circle and told the Burgundian Reichsführer's plan: to purify the world by destroying it in nuclear hellfire.

Disgusted and horrified by his former idol's plan, Heydrich secretly began working against Himmler, attempting to gather allies in the Reich and make preparations. Yet these would be for nought as the Madman in the West would realise Heydrich's treachery and work to counteract Germany's Führer.

And so it was that Himmler divided administrative and military control of the Reich's territories among his many loyal (and not so loyal) cronies: the ruthless Panzer commander Peiper, the opportunistic commando Skorzeny, the sycophantic Eicke, the corrupt Fegelein and many more.

Yet perhaps the most steadfast and devoted of these "SS-Warlords" was SS-Oberst-Gruppenführer Wilhelm Monkhe: commander of Der Reichsführer's personal guard, the Burgundian Panzer Division "Leibstandarte Heinrich Himmler," and now the overall commander of the Burgundian-SS after the treacherous Sepp Dietrich's disappearance. By far the most well-armed of the warlords, Monkhe was given jurisdiction over the Rhineland to act as a buffer state against any enemies or deserters trying to enter his master's domain.

Monkhe was determined to see his duty done, no traitor would cross the Rhine, no deserter spared. Dissenters and infiltrators, hiding among so-called "refugees," would be shot on sight along with their collaborators.

Yet as the first families were gunned down for suspicious activity near the border, a bright flash would engulf not just the Rhineland, but the fiefs of several other Warlords.

Flag / National Symbols: Ruling Party Symbol, Ruling Party Flag, Coat of Arms

Government Type : Fascist One Party State
Official Political Ideology : Fascism
Head of State : President Karolína Rys-Rozsévač
Head of Government : President Karolína Rys-Rozsévač
Government Description : The Czechoslovak State is run by a single party, the Vlajka, with all other parties being banned and rigid discipline being enforced within the party. The Head of State as well as of the Government is the president who, in theory, is elected every 5 years by the Diet of the Czechoslovak Republic. In practice these elections are not held unless there is an internal coup in the party. Said Diet is in theory the highest acting legislative body but in reality is little more than an echo chamber for the party leadership, voting almost unanimously for any laws that are to be passed or amended. Members of the roughly 300 strong Diet are supposed to be elected every 5 years too but no elections have been held for the past decades since the Vlajka won elections and eliminated all political opposition parties.

The true power obviouslay lay in the hands of the party leadership which generally formed the State Council, consisting of leading members of the party or non-affiliated experts in the high graces of the party leadership. Officially having only an advisory role, the members of the State Council actually execute extreme power over the ministers as well as the Diet.

The Government's control is then executed along a long line of government officials and local mayors, all of which are members of the party, membership being mandatory for employment by the state. It is however possible to receive a salary from the state by being "requested" to direct and organize one's personal work with that of the state and receiving donations in acknowledgement of one's service to the betterment of the nation...essentially a fancy way of contracting those with skills required by the state but unwilling or undesired to join the party.

Territory : Remaining Czechoslovakia and Poland
Territorial Ambitions : Short term goal? Silesia & Lusatia. Medium term goal? Hungary & Austria. Long term goal? Eastern and Central Europe.
Capital City : Prague
Population : 41,165 million

Majority/Official Culture : Czech, Slovak, Polish

Majority/State Religion : Roman Catholic

Major Industries / Economic sectors: As the center of a former world hegemon, Czechoslovakia is generally highly industrialized, boasting famous and well developed arms industries, a developed automobile, aircraft and chemical industry as well as resource extraction industries focusing on mining, in particular the famous Kutna Hora silver which is highly sought after due to its properties against Daemons. There still remains a atrong agricultural industry, much more prevalent in Slovakia and especcially in Poland than in Czechia, albeit Slovakia employs one more of the animal herding variety than the growth based sort. Similarly the Czechoslovak industry still requires imports of many raw materials to continue functioning for longer, the most damning of these being oil and gas as without these large parts of Czechoslovak daily life and governmental misadventuries would come a stop.
Amount of Industrialization : Highly industrialized in particular in Czechia and the Warsaw region, whereas Slovakia and much of Poland is more rural, industries being mostly concentrated in southern Slovakia and some of the larger polish cities like Krakow.
Economic Description : Well, uhm, capitalistic-oligarchic? The oligarchs in this case being party bigwigs or people who manage to get themselves into the good graces of the party, using their influence to eliminate competitors and cheaply acquire new assets and grow their companies as well as using paying off the inspectors to oversee certain workspace regulations for increased profit and productivity. This, horrid industrial practice, combined with the government's focus on military matters and drive for war with the British Empire has led to a stagnation of the industry as well as large amounts of poverty, many Bohemians barely scraping by on the low wages they receive and having to work long hours or sending their entire families to work to try and increase their earnings.

Technological Level: 1950s-1960s
Magic and other shenanigans? (If any exists) :Yes.
Magic in Czechoslovakia can almost always be traced back to Daemons. Daemons are the only ones capable of casting magic and a privileged class of Mages who holds the education and skill to summon them are their masters. As such Daemons are used in a great variety of ways, often as living/magical supplements for other things. They are however also often bound into inanimate objects in order to imbue said objects with specific qualities, so called enchantments. Depending on the tier of Daemon used, the enchantments very in power and utlity.

Daemons on the other hand are beings from another plane of existence. Through well researched and documented methods the Mages are able to call on Daemons and summon them into the mortal realm and make them do their bidding. All of this works due to the Mages' knowing the Daemons' true names. Vice versa a Daemon who knows a Mage's true name can not be bound into a contract anymore and as such it is common for Mages to receive a fake name at a young age.

The power of demons depends highly on their classification. Depending on it they can change into practically any shape, can be invisible to the human eye and have real forms on only higher plains of sight. They can cast a wide variety of magic that bends the very laws of reality, the more powerful the more extreme with the most powerful known bound entity known to be capable of making any wish come true at the cost of nothing but some life force.

Of course demons have weaknesses, the biggest known one being silver and to a lesser degree iron. These materials when coming into contact with Daemons bite at their very essence, lessening their hold on this reality and even capable of destroying them permanently. Similarly Daemons can not remain in the mortal world forever as it causes them pain and agony and continuosly saps their power, which is why most Daemons are only contracted for single tasks or short times before being released again. Bound Daemons of course have to suffer, growing weaker and weaker untill the objects imbued to them have lost much of their original power, with only the most powerful of relics capable of remaining strong.

Other clear indications of magic are lycanthropy, a demonic disease transferred through the exchange of bodily fluids which generally leads to stronger and more aggressive humans with the ability to transform into a much stronger werewolf form at will (with the exception of full moons), and vampirism though with a caveat of a deathly weakness to silver, and Vamprism, a similar daemonic disease transferred through blood and granting those afflicted eternal youth, immortality and very strongly improved physical abilities which can be increased through the consumption of blood yet also with the caveat of a, unless regularly slaked, maddening thirst for blood, very sun sensitive skin and strong weakness to silver.

Lastly and very rarely there are those regular people who have been born with a rare gene that allows them to resist magic. Their powers are often ignored or considered a nuisance as their numbers are very low and there are plenty of ways to harm a person without utilizing magic.

Military Description

Army: The current standing Czechoslovak Army is about 1 million strong, a result of the conflict between the British Empire and the Czechoslovak State waged over the past years over dominance on the European continent. About 280.000 of those men are well trained and equipped professionals and volunteers, indoctrinated and fanatical devotees of the Vlajka. Clad in blue uniforms and gasmasks and armed with assault rifles, tanks, troop carriers and SPGs, they make up the core of the Czechoslovakian Army. Or what remains of it. They are backed up by about 680.000 first rate conscripts of a young age, most of which are armed with semi-automatic rifles and whose training and loyalty is not quite as high as that of the core. Nonetheless they remain capable soldiers of the highly militarized state and a force to be reckoned with on the field, well capable of holding a line or advancing, albeit slowly as they are infantry divisions.

The pride of the Czechoslovak State consists of the First Tank Army, a highly mobile and fully mechanized force consisting of about 2 Armoured Corps and 1 Mechanized Corps and thus practically the entirety of Czechoslovakia's professional and volunteer troops. Having just returned from fighting in Italy, the Army has undergone major refitting and refilling, combat veterans passing on their experience to fresh volunteers while the armoured fleet is more standardized with newer tank models. Many among the soldiers in this formation are werewolves or vampires, both groups having done well in establishing themselves as firm supporters of the Vlajka regime.

The Czechoslovak Army is of course also backed up by Mages and Daemons, though their numbers are fairly low, with many mages being utilized on the production and homefront and Czechoslovakia never having quite recovered from the devastation of the war against Gladstone's Britain. Still there are several thousand mages strewn across the Czechoslovak Army, most often in positions of atleast somewhat higher station than the most basic grunts or atleast generally in positions that keep them off the field of battle, primarily because they are a valuable resource but also because their craft requires tidy rooms, some peace and summoning Daemons to fight their battles for them. The numbers of Daemons as well as their quality thus highly fluctuate.

Navy: It does not eist.

Air Force: The Air is our Sea, was a motto that Czechoslovakian Mundanes quicly adopted as the aeroplane started becoming popular, with many Czechoslovak inventors, flight pioneers and investors jumping upon the opportunity of a likely soon to rapidly develop market. As such several major aircraft companies such as Avia, Letov and Aero have formed with Czechoslovakia proper, which continue to produce high grade military aircraft for the Czechoslovak Air Force. The Air Force on the other hand has about 280.000 personnel currently operating within it, the vast majority of them being radar operators, anti air defense crews and airport personnel, in short, support personnel. However, here too there is a large portion of volunteers and professionals, about 40.000 in number (being part of the 280.000 number) and generally operate as support personnel supervisors and foremen, as pilots or as paratroopers in Czechoslovakia's two paratrooper brigades.

National Goals : The destruction of the British Empire and its hegemony over the world. Followed by re-establishing itself as the dominant power in Europe.

History : A century and a half ago, the Bohemian Empire was the hegemon of the world. Ambassadors from far and wide flocked to its court bringing gifts and their princes to study at the Bohemian court, hoping that Bohemia's imperial wrath was not going to come down on them. Yet like all always, all good things must come to an end and so it did for the Bohemian Empire, though it was spared the agony of a long death to internal intrigue and growing civil strife. Not that it wasn't already happening, no, it was simply cut short by the actions of one Prime Minister Gladstone, who forced the British Parliament in a coup'd etat to invest him with emergency powers and declared war on the Bohemian Empire, raising an army with which he landed in France and proceeded to rampage across the continent to the very gates of Prague itself. It was here that the British Army beat the Bohemian Army, it was here that the previously thought invincible Bohemian Golems were finally stopped. It was here where the Imperial Family was slain.

The Bohemian Empire capitulated and cracked under the pressure. The British Empire demanded vast territorial concessions as well as newly independent buffer states everywhere west of Prague and the Bohemian corelands. Meanwhile civil strife between newly rising revolutionaries, revanchists nationalists and stubborn separatists sent the former Empire tumbling into a vast abyss. With the loss of the superpower status, economic activity and trade moved towards London instead of Prague and the economy quickly started feeling the results, recession hitting and many left without a job and in poverty, waxing and waning over the lost glory days.

Was it then so surprising that it was fertile grounds for extremist factions to pop up and grow? Chief among those eventually turned out to be the Vlajka, a far right party founded by the former journalist Jan Rys-Rozsévač and which proceeded to quickly rise in the polls in the wake of another economic seccession shaking the nation in the 1930s which eventually led to the Vlajka acquiring a full majority in the Diet in the 1938 elections, despite numerous, doubtlessly British sponsored attempts to have the party banned. Almost immediately the Vlajka moved with purpose and speed, seizing power in virtually all walks of life and passing numerous laws. Laws for national security and the like which quickly saw all other parties either banned or absorbed into the Vlajka. Following that the Vlajka would begin a massive rearmament scheme, largely phasing out the idea ofMages being the ruling class, primarily because it was uncomfortably British but also because the Mages had failed the Bohemian Empire and as such were no longer deservin of their rule. However, with Mages so deeply ingrained into the culture, economy and warfare, they remained indispensable to the regime and so quickly had several of their privileges reinstated, returning to their status as a privileged upper class, albeit that status now had to be shared with Mundane Party Officials.

In 1962 Jan Rys-Rozsévač would finally think the time to be there and would begin an invasion of Lusatia, testing Britain's strength after nearly a century having passed. The Czechslovak Armiy Group initially made good headway, the new tanks and aircraft proving to be impressive weapons on the battlefield...yet the British Empire was at the height of its power and its counterstrike was terrible, costing the Czechoslovaks the entire Army Group and ending the small conflict before it had even begun. This disastrous war quickly cost the aging Vlajka leader Jan Rys-Rozsévač his position, rivals within the Vlajka party now finally seeing a moment of weakness and gaining enough momentum to topple his position and relieve him of his post as President of the Republic and leader of the party.

The one to come to power next was Yuri Moravec, son of prominent General Emanuel Moravec, and dreamer of peace and prosperity. He popped the Czechoslovak rearmament bubble and attempted economic reforms...yet none seemed to work well and the nation tumbled further down a hole into more economic depression, with Moravec's pleas to London for economic aid and investment falling on deaf ears. Still, the deeply ingrained loyalty within the Vlajka party as well as the lack of a clear opponent to him, ensured that Yuri remained in power as President untill...untill 1993.

Unbeknownst to the aging Moravec, the granddaughter of the founder and former leader of the Vlajka, Jan Rys-Rozsévač, Karolína Rys-Rozsévač, had taken an interest in politics and, using her grandfather's fame, the humiliation of the lost Lusatian War long forgotten in the face of the continued economic depression, and the terrible effects of Moravec's policies on the Czechoslovak nation as tools to garner support within the party untill launching her own coup'd etat against Moravec, who was promptly detained and executed for high treason and collaboration with the enemy. Now a 15 year old girl had just become the most powerful person the the second most powerful nation of Europe.

Many thought her inexperienced, unfit for the job. Many thought her naive and easy to manipulate. And she certainly played to everyone's expectations, being a seemingly weak and gullible fool who did as she was told by her elders, her better. Yet not for long as barely half a year after her election as President, she had ordered and executed large scale purges within the party which were carried out on Christmas Eve, Vlajka assassins ruthlessly going about their jobs even on this most holy of days. It set a sign that the new President was far from as weak as once thought...and she was not afraid of anything to get what she wanted.

In the following years she restarted the Czechoslovak rearmament program and also began to wage multiple low intensity wars against the British Empire, which was simultaneously already struggling with a large scale insurgency in the New World colonies. Czechoslovak troops slowly inched their way across Austria and even began fighting for Italy, besieging the city of Rome itself...when suddenly, in 2003, the nation found itself in a familiar place yet faced with very unfamiliar people. Czechoslovakia had remained yet where did everything else go?

Was posting on my phone, I mean if your satellites stay in orbit, like GPS, communications, etc.

I would presume that the satellites only came along if they were actually over your country when it was shifted here... which means that only nations with equatorial locations could start with any satellites in the 'geosynchronous' orbits that keep them over particular places without expending fuel...

Boldy going? ;)

Are you actually sending an aircraft carrier out by itself, without any escorts for tasks such as [especially] ASW?

Yeah. I threw those Star Trek references in there for fun. As for the lone aircraft carrier, I think only a few nations are at the same or above tech level as me, so it should be fine. For reference, Doje Islands has 2021 tech.

So China's tech level is advanced than yours then.

All nations with satellites had those satellites transported over, regardless of location.

Doja my dude, you do realize that just because an aircraft carrier won't run out of fuel sailing all the way round the world, doesn't mean it won't run out of food. Especially if there's no Panama Canal, and if you were planning on having them all visit nations straightaway without sending half of them through the Suez, which does exist here afaik. That, and even for modern ships, rounding the Cape of Good Hope - let alone Cape Horn - is no easy task.

I'm sure we can assume that the carrier gets supplies from the nations they visit, seeing that they are extending diplomacy to them.

Here's my formal "full" application _

Full Nation Name : The Regency of New Artorran (once the transocated people have got themselves [mostly] organized enough)
Short Nation Name : Artorran
Flag / National Symbols: initially as for Artorran, but will probably change [to some extent] during RP

Government Type : Parliamentary "Monarchy without a Monarch"
Official Political Ideology : Bears don't do "Official Ideologies"... essentially a Conservatives/Liberals rivalry c.f. RL Britain before Labour became a factor.
Head of State : Council of Regents (members selected in various ways by & from Parliament) ... (once the translocated people have got themselves [mostly] organized enough)
Head of Government : Prime Minister & their 'Roundtable'... (once the translocated people have got themselves [mostly] organized enough)
Government Description : multi-party democracy with more-or-less 'universal' adult franchise, but still with some oligarchic/feudal/ecclesiastical elements.

Territory : England, except for the strip along the Scottish border north of the [traditional, pre-1970s] counties of Yorkshire & Lancashire (and perhaps also without the Furness peninsula, plus south-eastern & eastern Wales [as delineated on the OP map], including the associated smaller islands
Territorial Ambitions : firstly, rest of Britain; secondly, Ireland; thirdly, any reasonably adjacent areas in western Europe -- or areas along the eastern seaboard of North America -- that we could occupy without having to fight wars of conquest; perhaps also some islands or coastal towns elsewhere as trading posts & to produce materials that couldn't be produced back home.
Capital City : Hrrydhchern (on the site of RL Oxford, but more open-plan & wooded than a Human city of comparable size & age would be and without slums; architecture basically similar to RL British "Victorian" or older styles, including medieval walls around the central "old city" district... JRR Tolkien & CS Lewis would have liked it.)
Population : (I still need to think about this: probably somewhere in the 5-10 millions range); c. 40% Ursine, 45% Human (but with several distinct groups that do not form a unified 'People', 05% 'SmithFolk' (= "Dwarves", of a kind), 10% others ("anthropomorphic animals" of various types, mostly, swell as the non-anthropomorphic [but magical!] Ravens, and smaller groups of some other types).

Majority/Official Culture : "Artorranish" _ Think similar to British of late 19th/early 20th centuries in many respects, although with a looser class system and without as much of an 'Imperial' aspect but with a reasonably well-documented history going back through the 'Arthurian' period into 'classical' times. The main languages are English and 'Artorron', the latter being of 'Ursinnic' roots.

Majority/State Religion : Ursionity (has similarities to Christianity, but its 'Holy Trinity' = The Great Bear (God the Father), Mother Nature, & their mortal-born son 'Artos Ursios'). Other faiths also exist, and mostly are tolerated.

Major Industries / Economic sectors: (again, similar to that of Britain from between the World Wars or slightly earlier, but less industrialised overall & without so much of a world-wide empire to provide such varied imports in such large quantities.
Amount of Industrialization : (see above; not at the same level as RL Britain at comparable Tech Levels, but better than [e.g.] most of eastern Europe -- let alone Africa or Asia -- was in those days; agriculture mostly non-mechanised, apart from some [steam-powered] threshing machines & the like)
Economic Description : (see above)

Technological Level : roughly 1920s-1950s Britain, lags in some respects (extent to which engine-powered road vehicles & watercraft are common, for example) and more-or-less modern in others (e.g. they have some computers). Essentially they are "extremely late adopters", taking up a [foreign] new technology only once its benefits & reliability & costs have been very thoroughly demonstrated but otherwise sticking to the "tried & tested" with which they are already comfortable. The lands translocated here have some industrial capacity, but not all of "Old" Artorran's strategic industries. Extensive land transportation is mostly by rail, using steam-trains. Aircraft are propeller-driven: They include flying boats and seaplanes, autogyros [but not helicopters], and also a few airships, as well as more conventional types.
Magic and other shenanigans? (If any exists) : "Wizarding" talent occurs, but most wizards are relatively low-powered; they do their best work either by [slowly] enchanting items (which generally aren't MUCH better than the technological equivalents, although admittedly some of them do do things that 'modern' technology can't) or by working in groups to perform slow rituals; there's no real quickly-acting "battlefield magic" that makes a wizard significantly more dangerous than a well-trained & well-equipped "conventional" soldier, for example. A sport similar to 'Quidditch' is played, and is watched by non-wizards as well as by wizards. 'Mystical' talents (e.g. healing, weather-telling, dowsing, far-seeing, green-fingers, beast-friendship) are more common, but still far from widespread in the population. Trained exorcists exist, and are effective. "Dark arts" such as mind-control, Demon-invocation, or the animation of corporeal 'Undead', are outlawed. Ravens can take some sort of [extradimensional?] short-cut when flying, to deliver messages quickly over long distances. Also, we have some specially-bred & trained [but non=-sapient] Ostriches whose ability to "ignore" things that they can't see really does make them -- and whatever they're deployed to protect, as well -- [mentally] "invisible" to hostile personnel. (These aren't useable against bomb or long-range missiles, or on ships at sea, but CAN be used as a "cloaking device" for the larger models of aircraft: In a past RP, one was employed successfully aboard a Dakota for missions into foreign airspace... Oh, and they wouldn't work once whatever they were cloaking opened fire on hostile forces, which is a MAJOR limitation.)

Military Description

Army: All of the translocated groups & settlements were from areas away from the borders, without large 'regular' forces present. There are 2-3 battalions of 'Guards' infantry (whose red jackets are, admittedly, enchanted to give them some protection against bullets), and a single division (3 brigades) of 'line' infantry, plus smaller numbers of [horse-mounted] cavalry, artillery, & so on; otherwise, apart from the training depots for about another division's worth of infantry regiments, they currently need to rely on militia, 'volunteers', & mounted 'yeobearry', who are several times more numerous but not as well-trained/experienced/equipped. Standard rifles are similar to Lee-Enfield except [because, Bears ;) ] in a slightly higher calibre. A few Armoured Cars, but no tanks. Motor vehicles used in some non-combat roles, but animal transport (when away from rail lines) is still also important. Some units have the pipes.

Navy: None of the fleet's main bases or main dockyards came through, and no major vessels -- let alone entire squadrons of them -- were in either the coastal waters or the civilian ports that did get translocated. We have one of the "Old Artorran" navy's smaller dockyards, which can do repairs but isn't much in the way of new construction (probably situated somewhere around the Mersey estuary, or maybe in south-eastern Wales, but I need to think further about this); one flotilla of [steam-powered] destroyers, with its depot-ship; several flotillas of torpedo-boats & gunboats; some schooner-rigged 'patrol ships' (with auxillary engines, & light armaments); one experimental 'torpedo-ram' (called the "Thunder-Child", of course); one seaplane-carrier, with its aircraft; a handful of obsolete warships of various ["19h-century"] designs that were either 'floating museums' or mothballed; and some unarmed or very lightly armed auxilliary vessels... also, two dirigibles for aerial scouting. No naval academy was translocated, but one training-ship did come through; for the Marines, we have only the small garrison formation at the dockyard, a few coastal artillery batteries, and -- much good may it do us -- a Bands School.

Air Force: Again, we have almost none of the 'front-line' combat formations from "old" Artorran... such as those were. Two squadrons [plus a few other aircraft & crews that were visiting here at the time of the translocation] of Dakotas, for logistics work; about three squadrons of Hurricanes, & another squadron that had been modified into 'Hurribombers' (We do have a factory tooled-up to build more of both types..); one squadron of 'Gloster Reaper' Night-fighters; nine Mosquitoes (one of them modified as a 'tank-buster'; we "inherited" the works where this was being carried out, too)[/i]; a flight training school with a selection of assorted aircraft (but not many of any one type); a few other Air Force planes of assorted [& mostly not front-line'] models; a recently-imported & not yet un-crated batch of 12 'Grumman Skyrockets'; and the ability to take assorted aircraft [including some autogyros] up from civilian ownership for use in the logistics, artillery-spotting, & 'liasion' roles. (The Army also has one squadron of Autogyros, small-medium ones that are fitted as 'air ambulances').

National Goals : Organise well enough here into a 'nation' for survival; explore, and contact neighbours, both to evaluate threats and to locate sources of various materials or foodstuffs; try to work out what on -- or off -- Earth has happened to us; try to restore contact with "Old Artorran", at least, even if a wholesale return there is not practical; spread Ursionity.

History : Civilization was brought to the island of Bruttain by "Toyrrean" Ursine refugees, c.1000BC, c.f. RL chronicler Geoffrey of Monmouth's 'History of the Kings of Britain'. During the 1st century BC the Bruttish fell to varying extent under the control of the continental 'Romaine Empire' (run by anthropomorphic Rabbits, who used numbers, organisation, and sneakiness, to make up for their relative weakness physically: Their language was 'Lapin'). The religious teacher named Artos Ursios lived -- and was killed, and rose from the dead to teach for a bit longer before ascending bodily into heaven -- there during the first half of the 1st century AD, and about a generation after his departure his followers led a rebellion that threw out the Romaine's puppet-kings. A dynasty descended from Artos's mortal half-brother then ruled the land until early in the 6th century AD, when unstoppable hordes of 'Chaos-tainted' barbarians & monsters attacked: The last king fell in battle, commanding a rearguard action to delay that onslaught while another part of his army guided many civiilians to greater safety "elsewhere". As it turned out, that "elsewhere" was actually along an inter-dimensional route into the Reality known as 'Bear World'. There, the Bruttish immigrants allied with the nation of Armed Bears, against threats such as the Ursine-bodied but Human-souled 'Storm Lords'. Over the centuries their descendants increased in population, extent of territory, and level of technology. Recently they discovered that a smaller group of Bruttish people -- mostly survivors from "the Last Battle" itself -- had followed a different escape route, and had arrived in yet another version of Reality where [i]their modern descendants now form a distinct group within the nation of 'Bears Armed'.
I have very little detail worked out yet about Artorran's history in between that original migration and my own entry into NationStates: My participation in this RP would be partly to provide a focus around which I can finally [start to] build that material .
The sections of "Old Artorran" that have been translocated in this incident were mainly from an island-group called "New Artorran" that was situated something like a thousand miles out into the western ocean from the original mainland, had started being colonized less than three hundred years before the present day, and was not yet at the stage where its people would have ben thinking seriously about independence: Some smaller sections from the longer-settled mainland have also, however, been "inserted" into this territory by whatever was behind the translocation. Some roads & rail-lines have "manifested" from somewhere or other, presumably from other sections of the original nation's networks, to link these into the islands' routes -- and to fill gaps left because some of the "old reality" islands' settlements were left behind, the districts that were translocated hadn't all been contiguous before this event anyway, and the physical geographies of the wo island-groups were far from identical to start with -- but the new networks are still far from complete & still need work.

RP Sample: I don't have any RP posts with Artorran itself, yet, so I'll show you some that I made under Bears Armed's name instead.
These are all from the [very] recently completed 'Quidditch World Cup 11', and are all of my posts from that storyline_

#POD 3 (don't remove this!)

I haven't used Discord before this.
Now _
The system recognises that I have made an account & logged in.
I can read other people's posts.
I can type-up a reply to a question that somebody -- on seeing the system note that I have joined -- has asked me, about how "Anglo" my Bears are.
BUT how do I actually post that reply, there? I can't find a clearly-labelled button for this...

They speak a surprisingly modern form of English, bearing in mind that their ancestors left their version of Britain back in Arthurian times and had had no contact with actual English people until vey recently (Explanation for this will be in my RP at some point). Culturally, there are similarities to the British of c. 1880-1930, but that is apparently [IC] coincidental.
