The Pirate State began during the height of WW2 on September 14th, 1941 with the invasion and occupation of the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia, a British colony at the time, by Vaas's pirate military. The Pirate State was declared shortly after the successful invasion with only a few civilian injuries. The local British garrison evacuated the island peacefully following secretive negotiations between the garrison's commander and Vaas's high ranking officials. In the years following the invasion, the new government built up its power and influence over the island as native resistance was slowly crushed. At the same time, Vaas discretely imported supplies and manpower to assist the new government. Once the Pirate State and its power were fully established in 1943, the island experienced a dormant period, where no imports or exports took place. The island was generally quiet during this time as the new nation's focus was set on affairs outside of the island. Even following WW2's conclusion, the Pirate State remained in this dormant period as fears mounted of a possible retaliation by British forces. Ultimately, British forces never returned to Saint Lucia and the fears eventually subsided.

The Pirate State grew quickly after it opened business operations on April 26th, 1950. This large economic growth would continue into the 60s, as the Pirate State slowly modernized. Moving into the 70s, the Pirate State began interacting more and more with foreign nations and entities. In particular, Vaas increased his direct influence over Latin America in order to help the US topple governments across the region.

So for the Chicago Government, that would be the Combined Syndicates of America from Kaiserreich, currently the main thing going on would be...Rhineland Problem that has been circulating, then the Swarm of Murder Bots by the Baltics and the Japanese-Russian and Chinese War. For the time being, nothing much has happened, considering everyone's busy with their lives.

They are syndicalists, so I'm not sure whether or not my organization would like them. They do have democracy, which makes it more appealing for spawning the organization. Basically am trying to make an organization that won't be immediately hostile to the country it spawns in.
