if its not about science, and it can be the 'soft' sciences as well as the hard, it can have all the techno eye candy it wants, and still be fantasy. not high fantasy perhaps, that's the provence to tolkin, the s.c.a. and unicorns and dragons. good fantasy is consistent with itself too.
at any rate, isot CAN be science fiction, and a lot of it HAS been done in that genre, it just has to be about the science, people believably doing it, the social implications of the results of their doing so, and so on. it may not even have to seem all sciencey, but for me the most fun is when it is.
sending self regenerating nanites back through time could create all sorts of wonderful fun chaos. actually hadn't heard the term "isot". been years since i've had much of a chance to keep up. after all that, i'm probably not smart enough to do the real sciencey stuff, even things like social psycology.
Uh, I'm not sure about this one. I'll let NSCR review it from here.
