Question: am I allowed to take on the K-5 missile? If I’m correct than some MiG-17PM’s we’re later updated into MiG-17PFU which allowed them to use this AAM.

They're effectively the same variant, so yes.

Character is done, might touch some things up later but I think that's it for now. Bit out of it so it's not my best.

1st LT Miriam "Rattler" Lochte - 3rd Aerial Volunteer Squadron

Image

Name: Miriam Lochte
Nationality: Belkan
Age (21 at youngest): 27
Gender: Female

Rank (O-1, O-2 or O-3): O-2
Callsign: Rattler

Appearance:

Good bill of health with a slightly underweight atheltic build. Keeps themselves in shape via vigorous excercise regimen and active liftstyle.

Height: 177.8cm (5'10)
Weight: 55.5 kilograms

Aircraft:SU-35S
Aircraft Appearance:

Azure Grey coat top with white underside paint scheme. Wing and rear stabilizer tips have been painted purple. Identifying roundels indidicating allegiance to Emmeria Air Force 5th Air Division clearly displayed in appropriate places. Name, rank and callsign below the cockpit, along with the patch design, with the roman numerals XVII below it, placed purely to tempt fate.

Emblem:

Funds Ƶ0

Personality:

Miriam possesses the attitude one would think from a Belkan officer. She is an ideologically motivated and confident individual who carries themselves to a professional standard while expressing a measure of arrogance common with most fighters. They are restless in their goals and have a strong desire to proves themselves to their compatriots and the people which sent them to volunteer, with it doubling for opportunities to hunt for the thrill of flying within combat. They are a borderline adrenaline junkie and glory hound but generally will follow the orders provided, rather doing things considered dangerous if the opportunity offers itself in persuit of those goals, demonstrating a clear cockiness in their own proficiencies.

One feature that is noteworthy about Miriam is their intense moral convictions and personal codes. Mirroring the sentiments of many of her own personal heroes whom she carries so dearly. These are principles she feels ought to be never breached and regards it as a matter of personal honour to follow them through, observing unwritten and frequently complicated rules, even if it would benefit practically, prove dangerous or culminate in her ignoring a direct order if she failed to follow them.

These codes typically extend to her opinions of others, with those doing particularly “dishonourable” actions often attracting temporary ire at best, and straight out anger at worst, something that can easily goad them into a fight.

Strengths:

Skilled Fighter: Having five years under their belt training with former belkan war veterans and experience from the Leasath Civil War, they are a reasonably experienced and capable fighter pilot.

Team Player: Despite their gloryhound attitude and deep seated moral convictions, they will typically work well with others outside of certain circumstances. Being willing to put aside personal issues and place trust in their wingmen, fighting tooth and nail with them in combat on princible.

Weaknesses:

Arrogant And Egotistical: Lochte, like a lot of fighter pilots, is egotistical and headstrong. They are overconfident of their own abilities and If they get an idea into their head, they will typically stick with it largely until it becomes completely untenable. With their own drive, egotism and sense of honour being easily played against them in the right conditions.

Principled: Lochte holds several key principles and takes them as a matter of honour to follow them. Being unwilling to do actions that would be dishonourable or underhanded. These things can include neglecting to defend helpless allies, eliminating critically damaged planes who are no longer able to fight, shooting at fleeing targets and hitting defenseless ground targets. They will put everything on the line to stand by these convictions, and if needed, will put themselves in life-threatening peril and near impossibly stacked odds to do so, with them having a mentality of going down with a clear conscience over remaining comfortable and safe.

Likes:

While planes and flying are some of the most obvious likes, one that is surprising to some is her nautical interests. Initially planning on joining the navy and having her fondest childhood memories in the frozen northern Belkan coast. Miriam having impressive general knowledge on boats, particularly those of Belkan design, and still has a fond recreational interest in sailing, it being something that she attempts to do when possible in her free time.

She is a fan of folk tales of all orgins, and likes to hear of the heroes and valour of other nations from the people themselves, with her collecting notes on them in a small pocket journal she has had for years.

She enjoys a few drinks shared in the company of her comrades at the pilot bars. Considering herself to be somewhat an amatur beer sommelier, although she only ever gets her predictions right about forty percent of the time.

Dislikes:

Her dislike of Osea government and their nationalists is one of the most notible for obvious reasons. Despite it being intially an offensive war waged by the Belkans, Lochte rather paradoxically blames the war on the Five Great Lakes Development political scandal, viewing that as a match point, while often overlooking the Belkan military spending issues which led to the economic crisis in the 1990s. While she doesn't view the overall war as right morally, she doesn't particularly feel remorse for the Oseans involved either.

She also has a dislike towards those who romanticize the pre-principality government of Belka and the ultranationalists that followed. Locthe views them as being the reason for losing their southern territory through economic failure and poor military planning, while holding disdain for the ultranationalists because of their justification for the use of nuclear weapons on their own soil. She blames them for the Belkans negative reputation that they now hold, disdaining the idea that they are inherently deceitful schemers thanks to the outcome of the war and the actions of hardliners after it.

Doesn't particularly like Estovakian food. Considering it to be bland in comparison to Emmerian or belkan options. Would rather go without eating that touch it, unless completely desperate.

Bio:

Born in the Belkan Federation, Hoffnung in the mid-1987. Miriam Lochte, alongside three sisters, grew up in an upper-class family with strong military traditions and background, her household having been involved within navy historically, his father being the exception. She was a military brat, who moved from place to place to match deployments that her father had, with him serving within the Belkan army colonel throughout the late eighties and early nineties. She saw very little of him thanks to his frequent deployments, and she was raised by her mother.

Having no solid location to call home, she latched onto military life throughout her youth, aspiring to serve within the navy, intent on following the path her family had taken time and time again. She cherished the stories of Belkan military-naval history, and more generally, their knights and their valour deeply. It proved to be something which she built her own moral compass around. Pushing herself to be the best to meet the perceived standards that such heroes would hold, resulting in a mixed relationship with her siblings because of a competitive streak and perfectionist streak.

At age eight the Belkan war occurred, and their lightning offensive, which made impressive gains, twisted around following the failure to secure Valais Air Force Base. When the Oseans counter attacked deep into Belkan territory, Miriam witnessed the destruction it brought to her home first hand, as well as the raw power of the air force and the swaying power that it had. Miriam spent most of time during these months moving backward and backward as the fronts grew smaller and smaller, evacuating from the allied continued advances from the south, constantly moving.

By the time that the war ended on June 20th at the Lumen peace accords, the saturation bombing of her birthplace and her own nation's use of nukes on their own territory, killing thousands, remained solidified in her mind. Leaving a keen hatred for the Osean authority and the old Belkan regime that had driven her homeland to the brink of destruction as she grew older.

Following the end of the conflict and the formation of the new territories under the Principality of Belka, Miriam never dropped her aspirations of joining the military, rather pivoted her interest towards the airforce. Seeing the sheer havoc that the planes could wreak pushed her towards being a fighter pilot. She spent her teenage years at a prestigious military boarding school outside Hornstad, positioned near the Edelstein River, proving to be a keen and dedicated athlete with an insatiable drive. Following completion, she attended the Dinsmark military academy, undertaking a four-year tenure studying Art, Philosophy and Literature Major and a minor in Belkan history. These studies helped to continue to shape her ideas and moral compass, further emboldening the ideals which she held through most of her childhood.

She entered the Belkan airforce training program in 2008 following graduation, performing well within the now gutted Belkan flight academy, being trained by some of the surviving veterans of the Belkan war. Part of the ten percent of the class that made it through the course by 2010. She was placed into the 5th Air Division, 32nd Tactical Fighter Squadron. Upon arrival with her unit, she found herself christened with the callsign Rattler, due to a rather embarrassing uncontrollable shake she often got before flights and a lack of appropriate bribes.

She served in this unit for three years, seeing few actual combat deployments, being mostly relegated to frequent training exercises, preparing for another war with the Oseans that would likely never come as her countrymen attempted to capture what they once had. Having pushed heavily to make it as a fighter pilot, she wanted to seek genuine experience, and better prove herself as capable. She took advantage of a belkan volunteer program. Allowing their pilots to volunteer in approved foreign conflict in the capacity of a mercenary in order to gain the experience that they’d desperately need.

Miriam made her bones throughout the Leasath civil war, primarily flying with the democratic forces throughout early 2013 throughout late 2014. The relatively intense conflict saw her deploying many sorties, primarily escorts and CAS operations. She did however see air-to-air action against insurrectionist and mercenary pilots throughout the conflict, neutralizing two fighters and one bomber over the short deployment, experiencing the raw thrill of dog fighting over the battlefield which simulated engagements could not replicate. The event further moulded her ideals and ideology, as she felt she was largely doing the correct thing. Miriam returned to Belka at the start of 2015 and continued service within the air force. The return to normality and lack of excitement proved boring, feeling that she was doing little good in her current position.

With the outbreak of the Emmeria-Estovakia War, Miriam was quick to throw herself at the volunteer program yet again.

Also I have a question: will it be fine if I accidentally screw up some technical terms? I mean some minor ones, I’m not talking about calling empennage the wings or the ailerons flaps.

The ATC has already given Lion permission to take off and if we waiting on tarmac preflight checks should have already been done

Personality: They say fighter jocks are the cowboys of the air more than the knights they once were. Loud, proud, obnoxious, self-confident to almost suicidal degrees... all things Sonja is not. She's the sort of girl who you'd expect to be licking boots for survival in an office block somewhere, not vaporizing them with dumb bombs she tosses through a window. And yet here she is, and she's at the very least confident enough to do her job without stuttering. Not since training, anyway.
Strengths: Sonja Cosic is some sort of mathemachicken when it comes to ground pounding. In an ideal world, she would be flying a pure ground-attack aircraft, but that small part of her brain dedicated to being a "fighter" pilot values the unparalleled slow-speed maneuverability of a Harrier's thrust vectoring too much.
Weaknesses: Simply put, she's not all that good at air-to-air combat at close range. She prefers to stick to BVR against fellow fixed-wing aircraft, and focus on things she can shoot with ease - ground targets. She can, of course, but she won't be setting any records for it. Also an utter klutz out of the cockpit.
Likes: TBAL
Dislikes: TBAL

Bio: Sonja was born to the owners of a restaurant, with no real martial background to speak of. In fact, her true aviation interest wasn't really military craft at all - the old planes that showed up at airshows were nice, and all, but she wanted to fly airliners. Unfortunately for her, Wielvakia's airline regulations are very strict, and the country has one of the highest flight-hour requirements for commercial passenger airline pilots in the world. Further complicating matters, just because her family restaurant was successful did not mean she was wealthy, and what civilian pilot training programs existed near her - crop dusters, light aircraft, or charter planes - were either expensive, used dangerous, old, rickety aircraft barely held together with duct tape and spite, or both.

So the military it was. She had the grades for it, and once she passed through the fires of basic (whence her callsign, as the muddy parts of obstacle courses tended to hold her up so much a rumor started she was doing it on purpose) she was ready for the trainer planes. Wielvakia starts everyone on the same F-5 derived model, and thoughts of piloting big, slow aircraft soon left her head. She applied for ground-attack class, and would have done quite well, but she just - just barely - missed the physical requirements for the WAF. By such a small margin that she suspected foul play from a trainer she and many other trainees considered an inveterate bully.

Luckily for her, mercenary squadrons have no such requirement so long as one doesn't die and one continues to get results. She signed up first with a COIN-focused company operating out of Belka as a co-pilot and eventually owner of a heavily modified Cessna, and over the years made her way up through it to purchase a Harrier. While her old squadron is not participating in the Emmeria-Estovakia War (to her knowledge), it has allowed her to join the 3rd Volunteer.

Aircraft Appearance: Seal brown upperside with a few inches of white around the edges, reverse on the underside.
Emblem: A brown dog holding a dagger in its mouth

Post fixed, sorry for mishap. I will also note that she needs vectoring towards the target due to lack of abequate radar on the MiG-17 and because the enemy is likely to change course during the interception attempt because she will be overtaken by phantoms

Angels = altitude in "1,000 feet"'s

angels = thousands of [unit]
In this case, I fuckled a bit and went with feet instead of meters, it's rectified now.

Well I suppose I’ve fixed both of these things. She needs vectoring towards the target partially because it was a standard procedure for Soviet interceptors to be guided to their target by ground control and because shitty radar.

I understand, but a simple request won’t hurt eh? Also what’s the actual problem with having an AWACS guide her towards the target? I don’t mean that it has to do it- I was actually expecting this request to be denied.
