Cybernetic Socialist Republics wrote:Name: Raela Alestrandra
Species:Human
Gender: Female
Age: 25
Appearance:

6'1, 185 pounds, athletic build, wears a dark purple coat, with matching knee high boots, gloves and a "cowboy" style hat along with black undersuit.

Occupation: Member of the Red Guard

Abilities:

    Tharsiste Enhancements:

    • Short term invisibility to most advanced visual and audio, etc. detection while moving, indefinite while stationary.
    • Telekinetically move objects at medium to short range with a degree of strength and speed equivalent to her own.
    • Ability to leech kinetic energy from nearby objects and people to add to her own strength and mobility, also proportionally increasing her durability.
    • Isoportation, allowing her to instantly reorient her body position on her current trajectory and stop her own movement instantly. Also acts as effectively body length teleportation.

    Genetic Enhancements:

    • Quicker reflexes, more attuned senses, greater strength, increased durability and precise dexterity.
    • Regenerative healing, made faster by drawing in nearby matter.

    Special Skills:

    • Trained from childhood in Acux-influenced martial arts.
    • Trained in modern covert operations and their associated skills.
    • Rudimentary knowledge in science and engineering behind modern advancements.

Weaknesses:

  • Invisibility while moving rapidly erodes the distance she can hear and see, repaired by remaining stationary or exiting invisibility
  • The smaller the mass of movement in her vicinity, the less she has to steal from and add to her own.
  • Her Isoportation does not displace solid objects, as in, she can not isoport into a space were a solid object is and force it to move
  • Regenerative healing is not a painless process, in fact it requires her to experience a fraction of the pain she felt sustaining the injury in the first place in addition to any existing pain
  • Has few truly long range offensive capacities.

Bio:

Raela knows very little of her birth, what she does know, is that she was that she was born with various genetic enhancements and given tharsisites as soon as thet could take and that she was "adopted' by an extremely decentralized organization known as the Unheard and trained in the art of deception and theft. It is an organization with members dotted all throughout confederation space, carrying out infrequent action in Collective space, along with a significant presence in the Abyss. Was originally formed as an egalitarian revolutionary group at the turn of the 21st century on earth. Today, it acts as a 23rd century Robin Hood, stealing from the wealthy and providing aid to the poor through front organizations. Though it is often hired by wealthy people to use against each other. Some say this activity is merely it protecting itself by winning the hearts and minds of the down trodden, others say that this behavior is proof it maintains the morality of it's earlier days.

From a young, age Raela did work for the Unheard, her tharsisite abilities making her incredibly adept at reconnaissance and thievery. However as time went on what made her stood out was the capacity and at times penchant for violence she developed. Her skill, tharsites and genetically enhanced capacities making her a formidable foe in close quarters combat, even without the element of surprise. As Raela grew older, she found herself increasingly preferring missions that gave her the opportunity to fight, semi-legal mercenary groups and rival criminal syndicates that prayed upon the vulnerable conditions of the galactic poor.

As time went on, she grew frustrated with her inability to learn more about her past. She also realized that the Unheard's continued operations in the shadows meant that it could never achieve the lofty aims it once set for itself, while it increasingly seemed to her that the syndicate was simply becoming another way for the powerful to compete with each other, just with a brand that happened to come with some palliative aid to the less fortunate. To her, it just became another cog in the machine, without the legitimacy that came with at least being a legal cog.

Eventually, she left the Unheard. For their part, it wasn't that difficult for them to accept this, there was more risk in attempting to persecute those the left instead of just leaving them be and she'd been plenty useful for them. When it came to starting a new, legal life, it wasn't that heard for her to do so by moving to Mars, as most of her shadowy activity had occurred in the abyss rather than confederation space, nevermind the sol system.

Once there, she found that the most suitable use for her abilities would be with the Red Guard. Given it was that or join with a mercenary firm, the choice was not all that difficult for her. At the end of the day, she had skills and talents that could only be employed in certain positions, at joining the Red Guard was a lesser evil in using them. Besides, the thrill she received from successful covert action and violence was something she just couldn't give up.

Equipment:
  • Clumps of programable matter that can be molded and hardened into various handheld or thrown weapons that can emit electric shocks or plasma bursts by her charging them with her powers, self replenishing over time
  • Coat, boots, gloves hat are made of smart fiber that can fold itself around her into full body fiber armour on her command, self repairing overtime.

Optional

    Likes:

    • Competition (friendly or unfriendly)
    • Defending the weak
    • Attacking the strong
    • Doing onto others as they've done onto others
    • Stealing things from people who have lots of things
    • Giving things to people who have few things.
    • Showdowns with other tharsisite users
    • Toying with Mercenaries

    Dislikes:

    • Formal Titles
    • Most violence against civilians.
    • Cowardly Pacifism

Accepted!

Name: Arthur Wyke
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 26
Appearance: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/21/ff/18 ... b48a62.jpg
Occupation: Investor and Scientist
Abilities:
  • Biological Perfection: Arthur is the result of an intentional genetic human experiment, designed to push the boundaries of Tharsisite power. Accordingly, Arthur runs faster, is stronger, has telekinetic powers, and an overall better health than most other people. Although specialist Tharisistes may outperform him in any one category, his Tharsisite comes with centuries' worth of genetic manipulation. His speed, intelligence, and sheer mental processing power completely outpace even Tharsisite enhanced people.
  • The Wyke Name: Even in exile, Arthur's last name commands respect. Everyone in the Sol system knows the name. The Wyke name carries such respect and innate power that those who do not know Arthur may refuse to even believe his relation. This commanding power allows Arthur to pressure politicians, bureaucrats, and functionaries through nothing but vague threats and premises. This power is limited of course; Arthur's name is worthless to Earth authorities. It is also worthless to those who know of Arthur's true status with the family, but on Mars, they are thankfully few.
Weaknesses:

  • Sanity and Addiction: Arthur managed to ruin his status as one of the most privileged men in the galaxy. A downward spiral caused by obsessive, compulsive habits. Even disregarding his ideological objective, Arthur is an obsessive addict for sensory pleasure. Sex, drugs, food, anything to keep him from boredom. Deprivation of wealth due to exile has only accelerated his mental decline.
  • Negative Feedback Loop: The more stress Arthur puts on himself, the more his addictive cravings kick into effect. The more they kick into effect, the more depraved and bestial he becomes. When you take a single-mind obsessiveness that demands constant stress, you get a loop that results in quick deterioration.
Bio:

Godhood.

That is what the Tharsisite offers. It is what humanity was made for. Bred For.

Arthur Wyke, now disgraced on Earth, hails from one of the oldest families since the discovery of the Tharsisite. The "Wyke" trademark, with its stylistic purple M, covers almost every medical product in the Sol system. The family has hosted industrial juggernauts, corporate titans, and scientific revolutionaries. All with generations-old Tharsisites.

Arthur was born into a life of privilege and comfort. His Tharsisite predated him by centuries. Entire generations of genetic skill were affixed to him as an infant.

Arthur was the third son, however. His elder brothers, decades older than him, had amassed unfathomable wealth and prestige by the time Arthur could speak. Their Tharsisites even older than his.

Arthur was not made to inherit these fortunes. Instead, he was made as an experiment - to see how far the family's Tharsisite engineering could go. Geneticists, engineers, and among certain dark rumors, even Elnoi were invited to work on Arthur. Clones made from Wyke tissue were used and disposed of in advance of his birth.

The experiment was a success. At least, at first. Arthur showed unprecedented levels of intelligence and athleticism, even for a Wyke. He outpaced his peers in the academy; quite the feat, considering they were all from families that rivaled the Wyke family in power.

Ability does not replace good sense, however. By adolescence, Arthur had taken a keen interest in his own creation - the genetic experiment that created him. His innate narcissism, filed by decades of privilege and innate, biological ability, led Arthur down a dark road.

Arthur used a combination of his status as a member of the Wyke family and the his status as a non-inheritor to become the Director of the Wyke family's research subsidiary. It was there Arthur would find his path to Mars.

The Wyke family had spent much on Arthur's creation. Yet, they were still locked by certain constraints. Whether sincere belief or government interference, the experiment was generally above board and legal. A family the size of Wyke cannot afford controversy; especially when watched by their enemies.

In the dark halls under Earth, however, none of that mattered. The disappearance of entire families - entire generations - went unnoticed on the overpopulated underworld. At the same time, new and groundbreaking medical products, particularly Tharsisite enhancements, flooded the market under Arthur's department. Few cared where they came from. People knew better than to ask.

In the halls of Earth, however, such barbarism among the high classes of society does not go unnoticed. Even in the Wyke family. Arthur's eldest brother, Anthony, had his spies discover the research conducted by Arthur.

In a rare display of human moral concern, Anthony pressured his father, Charles, the Wyke family patriarch, to shut down Arthur's department. The staff was relocated, the research destroyed, and the remaining victims well compensated.

Arthur himself was disowned and dishonored. The public and the government could not be alerted, of course. Arthur was instead stripped of inheritance, all positions with the Wyke family, and any funding or residence he had on Earth. He was granted a small sum, by Wyke standards, and told in polite terms to leave Earth and never return. To the media, he would be accepting the life of a humble scientist, but those who knew better could see the obvious drama.

And so Arthur, disgraced, has come to Mars. A backwater compared to Earth, but the potential to become his backwater. Perhaps, with the non-human population, even a place of research.

Equipment: No weaponry. A variety of scientific equipment from Earth. Most importantly, an incredibly vast (by Martian standards) wealth, and a willingness to use it.

Optional
Likes: Pleasure, sensory excitement, power, prestige.
Dislikes: Poverty, stoicism, deprivation,
Notable Experiences: His experience managined Wyke Research, Inc.; the training of Earth's finest academies; notable scientific expeditions into the stars.

So, what type of useful information would be over heard at the Modulator? Perhaps someone selling some type of data file to a mercenary about how they cane track down the victims? Maybe Raela follows the buyer into an alley out a side door as they go for Martian equivalent of stepping outside for a smoke break and she does some "kinetic convincing" to get him to hand it over while informing the rest of team to keep track of the guy that sold the data file?

Something like that works ya, my thought was she'd find something useful pertaining the escaped children from eavesdropping on the Sons of Mars

Won't do anything they can't heal from, that'd risk killing him. So no maiming.

Hey CSR, mind editing your post so Sal doesn't get knocked out? I wanted to use him more for the rest of the scene. I'm happy to have a bit of a fight between him and Reala but didn't really plan on him being godmodded like that. Mainly becuase he isn't just an NPC an all but a character I apped.

There, deleted and reposted.

But I can't just know how many posts I'm going suppose to give each engagement without hints to it, or how far I should or shouldn't go. It's not as though I've seen any feats of his in the IC or here. All I had to work with is 'don't kill him' in the IC and 'don't maim him' here.

I missed the app because it wasn't in the chart and even in then it doesn't really say much beyond him being strong and inexperienced.

Ya that's fair, I really just didn't want him passed out honestly, as I have plans for him that would be helpful to be able to use for dialogue and all. Totally get the misunderstanding, so don't worry about it
