Regarding the US, the Nusantaran government fiercely condemns President Maeve Dolonescu and her cabinet for using violence to quell riots and protests across the US, as well as intimidating state governments. The Nusantaran government refuses to aid the US government in both Operation Uproot and Operation Domestic Peace, as well as encouraging other countries to follow suit. Even if these operations have good intentions, the Nusantaran government still recognizes them as a very authoritarian move. If this continues, the Nusantaran government will impose severe sanctions on the US, both diplomatically and economically. Drastic measures include stripping US diplomats of diplomatic immunity in Nusantara, boycotting US products, ordering Nusantaran investors to divest from US companies and even banning Americans from visiting Nusantara as tourists.

Regarding the UN, the Nusantaran government formally opposes the recent resolution proposed by the US government and pleads with other countries to follow suit. The Nusantaran government makes it clear that human rights must be respected at all cost and that there shall be no exception. Nusantara also encourages countries to endorse the counter-terrorist proposal made by Brazil.

Morikawa nodded.

As they both entered the room to meet with the Cuban Ambassador, they both bowed and took their seats. Toshimitsu smiled pleasantly and asked, "So I am aware you wish to discuss our current peace projection efforts?"

Early yesterday morning, our peace-loving Empire came under a brutal attack carried out by two sophisticated drones, believed to be aimed at our bases in Taiwan. However, due to the vast superiority of our glorious Imperial Air Force, both threats were easily downed with no casualties or material damage. Only a terrible foe would make such an attempt to disrupt the peace and harm innocents.

Our Empire's intelligence services were quick to the scene and recovered large sections of the drones. It is their professional opinion that these drones were made of Soviet origin, launched either by their proxies in the Islamic Defender's Front, or by the armed forces of Australia. This event will not be taken lightly and retaliation will be swift.

The Soviet side has been quick to try to blame the honorable Empire of Manchuria for its own incompetence on the same date. Our intelligence from the island of Kainan, located near the area of the incident, suggests their drone claims to be false, rather being a fire having broken out and consuming their ammunition stores. The Soviet side seeks to use your suffering caused by their terrible attack as an excuse to strike our most valued allies.

This is unacceptable. The Empire of Japan condemns the Chinese Soviet Republic's blatant aggression against members of the Greater East Asia Co Prosperity Sphere, and pledges to defend the Empire of Manchuria at all costs. The Empire of Japan also pledges to defend the smaller nations which have been bullied by China. The Soviets, in their domestic failures, seek to bring conflict to the peaceful Orient. The Empire of Japan will not allow it.

The Empire of Japan urges all of its citizens and diaspora to return home to Japan for your safety and to serve to protect his Holiness the Emperor.

The Emperor sat presiding over the meeting as the Supreme War Council, consisting of Prime Minister Suga, Minister of Foreign Affairs Toshimitsu, Minister of the Army Yamazaki, Minister of the Navy Yamaguchi, Minister of the Air Force Tojo, Chief of Army General Staff Yuasa, Chief of Navy General Staff Satoshi, and Chief of Air Force General Staff Izutsu deliberated the next moves.

Field Marshal Yamazaki was the first to speak. "Gentlemen, it is clear that Operation Inazuma was a success, to an extent we did not even expect. The Soviets have publicly accused the Empire of Manchuria, not the Empire of Manchukuo. It suggests they are trying to use this to their aims. However they have fallen right into our trap. They have made a clear threat, and our intelligence sources suggest they are mobilizing. This is perfect. If they attack first, the world will remember them to be the aggressor, not us. Of course, we must prepare for that event. That is why I propose we begin to mobilize our forces and call up the reserves."

Suga nodded. "That is only natural. What do we have prepared to respond with to their inevitable attack?"

General Yuasa pulled out a plan and laid it out on the table. "Sirs, this is Operation Ihyo. Our war plan that has been in the works for decades as our planned response to Soviet or Korean aggression. Simultaneously, we will crush both the Chinese and Korean navies and air forces with strikes across region. Our primary attacks will hit Shanghai, Nanjing, Fujian, Guangzhou, Wenzhou, and Ningbo in China. There will also be more minor attacks, but the primary strikes in Korea will target Gyeryong, Jinhae, Busan, Donghae, Pyeongtaek, Mokpo, Incheon, and Pohang. With our carriers, we will strike China, and with ground based aircraft, we will destroy Korea."

He continued, "From our enclaves, allied forces there will begin rocket and drone attacks to distract the opposing forces. Should the situation allow, the same day we will commence an amphibious invasion of Korea so that we can adequately link up with Manchuria and Manchukuo. Our objective will be to crush their spirit and destroy their forces in one swift strike. Within hours after our air operations, we will commence a ballistic missile bombardment of strategic targets that will continue throughout the night. However, when we get there, things may change. We will go into more detail once the time comes."

Suga shifted uncomfortably in his seat. "What if the Chinese strike us in the initial stage of their attack?"

Yamaguchi waved his hand dismissively. "The Chinese will be reluctant to attack us first. That will commit them to total war with us. All of our planning right now is assuming they invade Manchuria. If they are more limited, then it is possible our response will likewise be more limited. However, I believe the Combined Fleet should depart from its bases so we are not caught, as the Americans put it, with our pants down."

Toshimitsu turned to Yuasa. "Sir, what is the status of our Imperial National Guard we just formed?"

Yuasa looked through his papers and came up with one. "To date, we have 42,346 enlistees in the Army National Guard, 20,521 in the Air National Guard, and 5,352 in the Naval National Guard. A good portion are veterans, many who recently completed their service, meaning we do not have to completely retrain them and they are experienced. A suitable number for peacetime, but we need to have many more troops force-wide if we wish to fully prosecute this war."

Yamazaki nodded. "Our most recent recruitment drive has done fairly. We focused on recruiting to the new National Guards, however we were able to get 5,250 enlistees into the Army, 503 into the Air Force, and 2,305 into the Navy in just these past two weeks. We need more though."

The Emperor interjected, having been quiet this whole time. "What if I gave a public address?"

Suga turned, "Your Holiness, Imperial Majesty, that is a brilliant idea."

Yamazaki smiled. "I am sure that way we will have more than enough troops enlist."

Toshimitsu nodded. "With that out of the way, my duty is to my personnel in the Embassies. What shall we do concerning them?"

General Tojo looked down at some of his files and then replied, "We do not want to set off to many alarm bells with the enemy. Have non-essential personnel and the ambassador's family in China evacuated as a 'security precaution.' Hold off on Korea until we see the scope of their response, but we should begin domestic operations already. When I was a Colonel, I served as head of the Kenpeitai in Manchukuo. We need to begin keeping tabs on Chinese diplomatic staff in Japan. It could alert us of an imminent attack. Also we should keep tabs on Chinese and Korean university students, laborers, and professionals living in Japan. We cannot afford for intelligence to be leaked. Do not allow them to leave the country."

Yamazaki replied, "That can be done."

Suga then turned and asked, "What of our allies and other Asian nations, we should make sure where their loyalties lie.

Toshimitsu smirked, "The Chinese are drawing them to us with their threats. If we ensure them security, a place under the Japanese nuclear umbrella, prosperity in the Greater East Asia Co Prosperity Sphere, some will take it. I do see your concerns though. The Emperor in Manchuria is not like some of his predecessors, but I believe they will hold strong for now. We must look to Chinese adversaries and have them lean towards our side. Isolate the Chinese and Koreans."

Suga nodded and looked to the Emperor. "Your Imperial Majesty, our plans are ready, and now it is the duty of the Imperial Armed Forces to refine and execute them. With your permission, we will embark on the great journey to preserve peace in the Orient and restore our glorious Empire."

Emperor Naruhito stood. "Like my grandfather before me, I am counting on you to bring glory and honor to our Empire. You have my permission to act as needed to defend our interests at all costs."

Throughout the Empire, the nation was mobilizing. Forces were being moved around. Already the Northern Army had begun redeployment of the 7th Armored Division to the Central Army, while the 1st Raiding Brigade had been transferred from the Eastern Army to the Central Army. In addition, the 1st Artillery Brigade and 1st Anti-Aircraft Artillery Brigade began mobilizing to redeploy to the Western Army from the Northern Army. Reserves were being called up into service, with orders to report to their respective bases by the 2nd of June. Command structures were moving into wartime units. Officially all the current units were part of the Home Army Group. But in the higher command ranks, the 4th Division, 7th Armored Division, 1st Artillery Brigade, 3rd Kenpeitai Brigade, and 1st Raiding Brigade would make up the currently top secret Chosen Expeditionary Army Group.

At sea, key elements of the Combined Fleet, consisting of the 1st and 2nd Fleets had departed from port in Yokosuka to move into an undisclosed location southwest from Osaka. Aboard the fleets, now classified as the Kido Butai, sailors went on alert, with orders to be ready for a Chinese surprise attack. To Admiral Yoshimura, this was all a tactical move to ensure the fleet was not trapped in port during a supposed surprise attack, as well as be easily ready to initiate Operation Ihyo. As a result, he had given orders to commence more training for the planned operation. This served two purposes. It masked the intentions of the deployment, which could be called training exercises. It also ensured that his troops would be ready when the orders were relayed to begin the operation.

For the Kenpeitai, the new mobilization meant little, but they had a different task. Together with the Tokko, across the Empire they began to look into monitoring top intelligence threats. The had orders if any Chinese or Koreans on this list attempted to leave the country, they would be detained on a minor change until peace was achieved. Their role in the coming conflict would be paramount to maintaining order and obedience.

For the other government ministries, some were kept in the dark, but others such as the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Foreign Affairs jumped into action.

Also going into effect today as of 4:00 PM will be full sanctions against the following entities for unprovoked aggression against the Great East Asia Co Prosperity Sphere:

Emperor Naruhito, flanked by Imperial Guards and other members of the Imperial Family made their way to a raised podium as he prepared to give a speech.

It was a very rare occasion that the Emperor would give a televised address, and people flocked from all over Japan to come and watch.

As he stepped up and gazed over the crowd, he gave a broad smile. "My loyal and brave subjects, it is with my deepest sense of regret that I must inform you of the recent developments in East Asia. To ensure the stability of East Asia and to contribute to world peace is the far-sighted policy which was formulated by Our Great Illustrious Imperial Grandsire. The security and well-being of our subjects is the solemn obligation which has been handed down by our imperial ancestors and which lies close to our heart. However, the terrible and illegitimate regime in mainland China known as the Chinese Soviet Republic, has taken irreversible action through its proxies to mount a desperate attack on our divine nation. They threaten our allied nations and mobilize their forces for war. The situation being as it is, Our Empire, to maintain peace and prosperity across the Orient, has no other choice but to appeal to you to arms. We rely on your loyalty and courage to ensure that all sources of evil are speedily eradicated to preserve the glory of our Empire. Within a few minutes, the address was over, but the message was delivered. As the Emperor walked away with his Imperial Guards, the thousands of people in the crowd could be heard cheering, waving flags, and shouting "TENNO HEIKA BANZAI!" The Emperor turned and bowed to his subjects before continuing on into the Imperial Palace.

With that, the Empire moved on its course towards rearmament in a way no law could. That day, hundreds of thousands of young men and women filled recruiting offices to join the Imperial Armed Forces. It was expected many more would follow. It was estimated as many as 5 million would apply, however there was no assurance that all would fit the requirements, or they would all be accepted. To prevent supply shortages, a limit was placed for only 2,000,000 new active service personnel, with the rest slated to join the Imperial Guard or militia. It was a key consideration for the Imperial Armed Forces that its young labor force not be drained, so that the economy could be maintained as well as manufacturing. In a matter of a day, one speech moved the nation towards unprecedented military capabilities.

The June Declaration

Perhaps Portugal and the United Kingdom fail to understand the gravity of the situation of Hong Kong but let me make this clear: their presence will no longer be tolerated as Chinese neighbors. Asia will not be the playground of European politics, not now, not ever. They have enjoyed their colonialism in the 19th and 20th century but now times have changed. The Chinese Soviet Republic hereby invokes the UN General Assembly Resolution 1514 on the port cities of Macau and Hong Kong. According to the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples, continuing colonial rule on these cities is unlawful and must be returned to rightful Chinese ownership as they are not home territories of the European nations. As for precedence, the CSR brings forward the 1961 Annexation of Goa in which Portugal formally surrenders its colonies of Goa and Damaon back to rightful Indian rule. Unlike India, the Chinese Soviet Republic is willing to buy the port cities back for $30 billion each as compensation for the initial loss of income.

Do not confuse our ambitions in Asia for ambitions in Europe. Decolonization will and always be China's foreign policy so long that colonialism exists in this world. We are the heirs of Sun Yat-sen, we are the defenders of Asian independence against imperialism, and we will see to that Portugal and the United Kingdom end their empires for this modern world. China calls upon the free nations of the world who are and had been victims of reckless imperialism and ruthless exploitation to condemn Portugal and the United Kingdom for their blatant selective interpretation of UN protocols. China calls upon the nations who style themselves as a champion of freedom and self-determination to condemn Portugal and the United Kingdom for freeing its African colonies yet kept their tyrannical rule in Asia. Is this not hypocrisy? You cannot are enacting decolonization if you only give freedom to a select few. Just as it is unfair for America to own the Alands, unfair for Russia to own the Galapagos, it is unfair for China to be denied the return of its legitimate territories lost in the 1800s.

So let Portugal and the United Kingdom take this message to heart. They will not, and shall not, in any circumstance deny the Chinese Soviet Republic the attention Macau and Hong Kong deserve. Until the territories are returned in full, the CSR will enforce a full economic blockade around the port cities, place strict trade sanctions on the UK and Portugal, and suspend all of their assets and investments in the Special Economic Sectors. We respectfully encourage the free nations of Africa, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East to place their own economic sanctions on the two offending empires. China promises to the nations that support our righteous cause of unification that its gratitude will be made known to them and their people. However, if Portugal and the United Kingdom begin negotiations with China as soon as possible, the CSR will immediately lift up all trade restrictions and return the frozen assets to their respective owners. In fact, if they cooperate willingly, they will receive special privileges in China's Special Economic Zones.

Just understand, there is no humiliation in returning colonies to their proper owners nor is there any humiliation in granting independence to the territories. This is not the Victorian Era, this is the modern world. Portugal freed Brazil, Angola, and Mozambique; and did the world end for them? No. The United Kingdom freed its dominions and the Thirteen Colonies, and did the world end for them? No. So will the world end if they returned Hong Kong and Macau to China? No. Will everyone prosper if they did? Yes.

In response to Manchuria's answer and the subsequent "terrorist" attack in Taiwan, China requests a UN investigation of the whole affair. While the political climate remains tense in East Asia, General Secretary Xi Jinping decided to listen to the plea citing, "He is guilty, without a doubt, but only by association...we will cooperate to discover the truth of this awful attack." It was reported that the leader had a mini-rant that Manchuria was still a warlord state and puppet of Japan and its obedience in carrying out Japanese war crimes in the 2nd Sino-Japanese War. Chinese civilian and Manchurian investigators will immediately begin conducting a hunt for the paper trail. And since the "buyer" was reviewed to be located somewhere in Japan, China appealed to the rest of the United Nations to begin an international inquiry mission to Japan to weed out the perpetrator. Mainly because the empire was all too happy to deny Chinese investigators access. Although they might be partial to Manchurians, China made it clear that where the Manchurians go and find, the Chinese will be there beside them. It also didn't help the investigation that Japan issued a full embargo on China, something the CSR is all too happy to retaliate in return by also embargoing the Japanese Empire.

"Really unbecoming that Japan to associate terrorist attacks in the (Nusantaran) Federation with the drone strike in Taiwan. Everyone knows that the majority of Muslims in China live in the Sinkiang region, not in Guangdong Province." Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated in a news conference. "Have they not reached the same conclusions as us? What terrorists have access to drone fuel? We are a secular nation, are we not? What use is there for us to support Islamic terrorists when they are more than willing to send the drones to kill the Madame President...After all, did you not hear them wanting to expel the Chinese out of the Federation? The CSR would rather burn than subject a Chinese citizen to those extremists' demands.

Malmö Grenade Attack

The first grenade attack in the city of Malmö has occurred following a long peace between the many warring organizations and communities in Malmö. It was felt in the eastern quarter which nowadays has been mostly overtaken by immigrants from Turkey, Somalia and many more Islamic people. The attack was an assassination of the Somali gang which had become infamous in 2017 following the beheading of a Swedish communist party chapter leader after the 2 organizations had started a clash following an attempted assassination of the Malmö Police Captain.

The grenade attack injured over 150 and killed around 12 in the , including 3 children and has become a brutal hit within the Somali community with many Somali flags being flown in the eastern section. The attack was claimed by the "Swedish Mafia" of Malmö which according to the police is a loose collaboration of Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish and French criminals who are facilitating a drug trade between the countries.
The police statement on the attack has been praised as they've promised to deploy more than 15.000 new recruits from the Military police to the city, armed with the new state issued "Hagtornssläktet" rifles of a Carl Gustaf Rifle Factory variant. These rifles hold around 20 rounds each and are of a similar design to the famous FAMAS rifle which was employed by the police earlier following the 2019 race riots in the city.

The king has made an official statement on the attack calling the city of Malmö "corrupted" and that the peace deals which these criminals form "just temporary deals to let them arm up and attack each other again", he followed this statement with the promise of a declaration in a months time.

We have yet to figure out more details but rumors of a coming gang war between the Somali coalition, the Somali-Turkish-Latvian-Arab coalition, and this new mafia.

After a review of the Chinese Soviet Republic's request for a UN investigation into the Chinese Soviet drone attack on Taiwan, the Empire of Japan would like to not only encourage, but welcomes a full investigation, carried out within international and domestic laws. The Empire of Japan further refutes and completely rejects the Chinese allegation that any buyer in Japan would have purchased Chinese-made materials. Our laws in Japan hold manufacturers to a higher standard, and it would be completely unsafe and irresponsible to use faulty Chinese parts in quality Japanese manufacturing. As such, it would be impossible that a buyer in Japan manufactured the Soviet drones.

The reliable intelligence of the Empire of Japan shows that the presence of Chinese parts, as well as many similarities to Chinese designs, suggests Chinese manufacturing of the terrorist drones. It has not been ruled out by experts, based on gun camera evidence, that these drones were in fact Chinese Soviet Air Force drones, since only parts of the drones were recovered. There is a reason aside from Japanese air supremacy that the drones failed in their mission against Taiwan, and that is inferior Chinese manufacturing and tactics. As the investigation has continued, the Tokubetsu Kōtō Keisatsu, also known as the Tokko, and the Imperial Japanese Army Kenpeitai have come to conclusions that with Chinese-supported proxies in Nusantara, the Soviet side directed an attack on Japan to degrade Japanese capabilities ahead of their plans for naval operations in the South Pacific against British Hong Kong. They have stated that it is not unreasonable that a nation would support a group with opposite ideas for their own ambitions.

Reputable Japanese intelligence suggests that the reason Guangdong province was targeted was the near proximity of naval facilities in British Hong Kong. Based on testimonial from experts, it is believed that the Chinese Soviet operators behind the attacks, due to their poor training, misuse of navigational instruments, and sheer incompetence, accidentally targeted their own bases under the belief they were striking British naval forces.

The Empire still views the investigation as ongoing, with Coast Guard attempts to locate sections of the drone still occurring, as well as further analysis of the drones, and investigation of different state actors. "Well, there is something we have not done hardly ever in recent years." replied Marshal Admiral Yamaguchi. "We can launch a Imperial Coast Guard crackdown on illegal Chinese fishing in the EEZ. The Korean government is deeply shocked by the terrorist attacks against Korean civilians in the Nusantaran Federation, the government of the People's Republic of Korea advises that all Korean nationals that are currently living, working, or vacationing there to return home immediately. If that is not available, then the government advises that they should evacuate to the nearest Korean consulate or embassy to seek shelter until consulate/embassy staff can arrange a flight out of the country. Diplomatic staff, however, will have to stay put until further notice. The Ministry of National Defense will also implore that police or military garrisons are to be established outside of all foreign embassies and consulates to ensure the safety of those within. The government is also willing to dispatch Korean counter-terrorist units to aid the Nusantaran government and will allow for the sale of Korean-produced weapons and technology to help deal with the terrorist threat.

Korean fishermen are advised to stay within the Korean EEZ and to contact the Korean coast guard or naval units when they encounter a Japanese warship or fisherman to ensure their safety. The national day has been commemorated in a similar manner each year in Malmö with increased security as more and more police arrive in the city. The parade featured 900 police officers who marched in formation with more than 1000 people carrying Swedish flags of both provinces and of the nation with many people celebrating it. The parade this year was to feature Prince Carl Philip the son of the king who was to be seen with the current chiefs of the military and civilian police, but as his car rolled around to the newly built Garrison Office in eastern Malmö 6 vans came hurling at massive speeds with one ramming the princes car and the rest around slowing down with armed men coming out and firing at both police, civilians stationed around the police and at the princes car. Police officials responded quickly by opening fire, wounding and killing the attackers. Reportedly the prince was mortally wounded but is alive. 93 people have been murdered and around 150 are wounded.
No details have been published but our insider information in the police says that this was an attack by the Swedish Revolutionary Organization.

New Volvo factory opens up in Karlstad

A joint effort between the government and Volvo to employ more people in Karlstad has started as machinery and materials are being shipped there. The factory is thought to be finished in 2-3 months. Some Swedish political experts think this might be an effort to better centralize Volvo further as a Swedish company, as leaks in Sweden have lead to details of a Swedish-Norwegian economic deal with Volvo and other major Swedish and Norwegian companies working together.
Before the announcement the Swedish government went to buy a large share of stock in Volvo, following the 2019 economic plan in which more nationalization was promised.

Tensions Rise In Asia, What's At Stake For Argentina?

Rising tensions in Asia have reawakened an age-old question for many nations: "What's at stake?" In the case of Argentina, quite a lot in fact. Argentina is intrinsically linked to the "World's Factory," China. Trade between China and Argentina remains incredibly strong with fair bilateral relations between the two nations. Meanwhile, Argentine trade with Japan is significant, albeit not as economically consequential as trade with China is. On the other hand, Japanese companies like Toyota, Honda, Mitsubishi, and Subaru, have large presences in Argentina; the same cannot be said for Chinese companies.

Adding to this complex mess is trade with the UK and Portugal. Travel to Sweden Discouraged

Plans For New Nuclear Power Plants Announced

The Argentine Atomic Energy Association has announced plans for three new nuclear power plants. The plants, dubbed Atucha III, Embalse II, and Patagonia II respectively are to supplement the current nuclear power facilities present, and eventually replace them. In the plans unveiled, the plants are supposed to have between four and six reactors depending on the reactor output and unit cost, with the intended goal to strike a balance between electricity generation and cost per kilowatt. While no official tender process has begun yet, it can be assumed that the A1500 reactor will be considered along with other advanced reactors like the AP1000, AES-2006, and EPR. The tender process is expected to begin after Independence Day according to the Atomic Energy Association.

It had been decided that it would be acceptable to initiate conflict without the latest recruits having completed training, so long as Operation Ihyo held off on the invasion of Korea for several months after the start of war.

Right near the border is the Longfeng River and the Yongding New River. That will be our first line of defense. Our second line will be the Chaobai New River. The third line will be the Shuangcheng River. At the start of the conflict, we will destroy the bridges over the Longfeng and Yongding, forcing them to cross. We will also begin naval mining operations in those two rivers. Already I have my men digging in an building up fortifications there to hold the line. They are building Czech hedgehogs to line our defenses, as well as placing mines and barbed wire as we speak. In the Chaobai and Shuangcheng, I have already ordered for naval mines to be placed, as well as hedgehogs and land mines. Luckily most of this area is farmland, although we will turn the cities into an attacker's nightmare once it comes to it. By using routine air patrols, employing naval mines, and sending naval forces, we will either destroy their submarine fleet, or keep it out of action."

Yamazaki waved his hand dismissively. "I believe the Chinese will be anxious for peace. The war will not last long. What of our defenses in Manchukuo?"

General Honjo and General Ishihara laid out a their own geographical map. "We have no concern that our faithful ally, the Empire of Manchuria will hold against the Chinese. Thus, our main front will be against the Koreans. The Yalu River is a great natural defense. With the methods described by General Shimeta, we can easily hold Manchukuo. This area of Korea is fairly mountainous. They will have trouble with moving supplies and armor. The most we expect from Korea is airstrikes, but with our air defenses, I believe they will not be a major threat. Any Korean attack will have to be fairly major to succeed, so I do not worry."

Yamazaki gave a grin. "Very well. Continue preparations at full speed. We will be ready when the enemy attack comes."

Across the Empire, specifically in border regions, their respective armies were preparing for war. Czech hedgehogs were being produced rapidly with existing units moved into place as defensive fortifications were built-up, mines laid, and troops trained. Suspected Korean, Chinese, and Australian nationals were placed under surveillance. The two agencies, with new authorization, were given permission to arrest any Korean or Chinese nationals attempting to leave the country. Targeted would primarily be males of military age, but those working in key industries or having access to sensitive knowledge would also be targets. They would be arrested for minor charges, in the attempt to deprive China and Korea of any possible intelligence or troops.

"Should we even bother with talks now? Russia has made it clear that they do not intend to stop interfering with the Domestic affairs of the Ukraine," Ukraines Defense minister Andriy Taran said as he waved the Russian response in front of him. "Good, do so. If the Russians cross the border I would rather we have some form of advantage, numerical superiority should stiffen the backs of our men in such a case. Now, with things seemingly about to go hot in both Asia and America do you think Russia will risk outright intervention here? It would be unwise should they be drawn in an asian war after all," The President said, steepling his finger as he did and leaning back in his chair.

"I cannot say it is what I would do Mr. President however the Russian Empire certainly has the manpower and logistics to do it if they so wished..." The Minister said.

"Very well, it is a risk, but all things in war are risks. Commence extremely limited artillery barrages into the Donbass, strictly known military targets of the rebels. I want it to be low level so that when the rebels respond we can claim that they began the breach of the ceasefire. Remove the press from the front gently, tell them they are going to see the newly trained soldiers or something. When the rebels respond, launch the operation and pray that the last few years of build up and training combined with having nearly double the amount of weapons and men in the region will see us to victory," President Poltorak said, standing from his seat now to show that the conversation was done.

"Yes Mr. President, and should the Russians intervene outside of the Donbas and into other regions of Ukraine?" The Minister asked as he was readying himself to leave.

Three ours later and two hours past midnight, towed artillery pieces across the frontlines of the Donbas opened up. Three shells, sometimes four were fired at several rebel targets. Specially selected soldiers fired an entire magazine of rounds at their rebel counterparts fortifications, rockets in singles and pairs flew across the lines and struck fortifications and vehicles. All of this in the span of twenty minutes, all of this to force the rebels to make a larger response and give Ukraine the excuse they wanted.

Julio stood outside of the entrance, talking to one of his aides.

“I hope this goes well. This could really rock our landscape politically.”

“I’m sure it will go well, Mr. President.”

“Alright, wish me luck.”

Then, Julio stepped into the press room, walking up to the podium. He had a personally written speech in his hand, which he placed on the podium, preparing to begin speaking. He cleared his throat, then began.

“People of Cuba, the world is at a geopolitical crossroads. Tensions in Asia rival those of pre-WW1 Europe, while America is forced to use force on its own citizens. We are currently in uncharted territory, and I have been devising a compass for Cuba to follow.

“First, I have made plans regarding the Chinese Soviet Republic. Our two nations have been bitter enemies since Fidel Castro made his condemnation of the CSR after the Nanjing Coup. I believe it is time for our two nations to start relations anew, which is why I have an announcement to make. Later today, I will sign an executive order to lift all sanctions on Chinese political figures, the United Chinese Soviet Party, and on Chinese civilians levied by previous administrations as well as the regime of Castro effective tonight at midnight. Once sanctions are lifted, I will request a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping to further discuss the rebuilding and future of Sino-Cuban relations, as well as the potential lifting of the trade embargo. I believe that while talks with China in the past have been less than fruitful, this round of talks should prove fruitful.

“Second, the situation in Belize grows worse. The growing separatist movement is forcing some to flee. Earlier this week, an entire convoy of refugees was discovered by the Cuban Navy, claiming to be from Belize. This is an incident that we cannot possibly ignore. As such, as I have done a few times in the past, I once again call on the British government to consider an independence referendum in Belize. The quicker it comes, the better for citizens in Belize and others in the region.

“Third, i must address the elephant in the room. Our neighbor to the north, the United States, has recently used force against their own citizens in the name of law and order. We in Havana find this quite concerning, and advise the new American president to tread carefully in the future regarding Operation Uproot. We also have very large concerns over the seemingly partisan based arrests of various State Governors who oppose the operation. I will request a meeting with American President Maeve Dolonescu regarding the operation as soon as possible.

“This will be my roadmap for the current geopolitical landscape for the coming months. I do hope that my agenda will be able to come through, and that Cuba can continue to prosper.”

Sad news today as the Governor of Texas, recently arrested on charges of obstruction of justice, treason, sedition, and aiding and abetting fugitives, was found dead in his cell this morning of an apparent homicide. Early reports indicate that he was strangled by his cell mate. His cellmate being a member of MS-13, the very gang that the Texas Governor spent most of his time in office enacting laws to help quell within his state. The Governors of Utah, Montana, Florida, and Georgia, have all been indicted and arrested on similar charges to the ones brought forth against the late Texas Governor. Although, each of them had been released on bail shortly after their arraignments. The units from the northern attack force are to protect the northern border from any potential Manchurian attack. Reservist units from northern theater command will be used to help garrison and police any captured territories."

More Terrorists Arrested in Jakarta

Those in militias were given whatever weapons were available, with hunting rifles, Japanese World War II antiques, M1 Garands, grenades, and some even bamboo spears. The resistance for any invading force would surely be stiff.

This comes with reported internal dealings which aim for a more centralized form to better ensure safety in Malmö and give them a friendlier name, though some criticize it for being too similar to the Home Guards name.
They are to be given a new ceremonial uniform which is in the works but is said to be reminiscent of the Great Northern War uniforms of the Swedish army during the time but with modern additions.

Series of crackdowns and firefights in Malmö

A series of orders for "stabilization" in Malmö have been put, the new Guard have been deployed alongside police and have begun clearing areas of the city. While some of the guard went down Axel Danielssons road they encountered heavy fire reportedly sustaining 4 casulties, they swiftly returned fire and the building from which the gangsters fired was set on fire.
With the last projected population number for the city being around 350,000 the city has grown to become massive and flooding even outside its old paramaters, with a population estimate of around a million by the government but some private estimates put it at near 2 million with unaccounted immigrants being widespread.
The Guard are according to not only reports from civilians and reporters but even from their own press meetings have admitted that stability is hard to keep within the city.
As the fighting grows more and more police officers are needed and more and more of them get assaulted each day with the Malmö Hospital being filled with patients daily.

More news from the crackdowns as a protest started in the central of the city a bomb went off. According to the authorities no one was hurt and the bomb seem to have been incorrectly triggered. As well as the north-eastern quarter of the city, which hosts a large crime problem and has been labeled as one of the most dangerous in Sweden, where police officers found a human trafficking ring with more than 500 girls, more than 450 of which were from the local immigrant population.

The Malmö police chief promised that the "heads of criminals will decorate the town hall once the patriotic Guard are done", with an interview yielding answers to the previous months Swedish Mafia questions. A new batch of reports have been declassified and show them funding various gangs within the city with drugs and occasionally firearms, with the P90 being a popular firearm.

At the UN Headquarters, the Chinese Soviet Republic has publicly endorsed Operation Uproot by stating that that the federal government has overlooked its domestic terrorism for far too long. While oddly heartwarming that the Soviets and the Americans draw the line at Neo-Nazism and other unpleasant white supremacist ideology, only a true cynic would argue that it would be more hypocritical if they had condemned Operation Uproot instead. After all, since Chiang Kai-Shek's Red Terror, political purges were nothing new to Chinese politics even if it was more subdued in the 21st century. Or perhaps the endorsement was done out of genuine respect for the democratic institutions and virulent hatred of white supremacy. Whatever the case, the Madam President wasn't alone in this Assembly.

But perhaps the greatest surprise was China being the first nation to announce that they would support the Madame President's proposal of Operation Domestic Peace. Of course, the idea of it being led by the United States Joint Chiefs of Staff was a point of major contention. As the Un Prepresentaive counter-proposed that instead of the US taking full charge it would be, "An organization built of mutual respect and cooperation in dealing with international terrorism..." with the suggestion of the UN taking a more paternal role in executive decisions. The CSR seemed to read the mood of the assembly given how negative reception was looming over the representatives and announced their interpretation as a way for America to save face. After all, it was pretty obvious that the US could've easily abused the international anti-terrorist force into becoming another puppet of Washington D.C.

But at the same time, when UN Representative Zhang Jun told the world that the CSR would contribute the Soviet Gendarmerie to Operation Domestic Peace, the reason why the counter-proposal was said was crystal clear. Lending the Chinese Soviet Gendarmerie under US command spelled a recipe for disaster. Fanatical Totalitarian "Blackshirts" fighting alongside whatever freedom-loving anti-terrorism agents were an oxymoron of titanic levels of absurdity. Indeed, rightly feared for their ruthlessness and brutality, the CSG are sworn only to the United Chinese Soviet Party, an army behind the army with rumors that they were the successors of Dai Li's Red Shirt Society. When the critics compared them to the unsavory paramilitary arm the Schutzstaffel, the paramilitary wing of the Nazi Party, during Dai Li's reign, the General Secretary responded "They're loyal. That's all that matters to me."

With that in mind, Soviet China still voted yes towards contributing to the ODP plan. As for hosting ODP agents in China itself, the different political ideologies would require immediate negotiations.

United Nations Summer Sessions Heating Up!

The United Nations commenced the month of June with a series of hotly contested, and heated, items on the docket. The first of which was the Chinese invocation of Resolution 1514, citing the case of Goa as their casus, and led to a series of intense exchanges. Ultimately, forcing President of the General Assembly, Abdulla Shahid, of The Maldives, to cast a general vote on whether the resolution should be applicable and accepted as enforceable. The initial vote was an almost immediate victory for China with over one hundred nations assenting and twenty-one abstentions. Leaving the nay's clearly outvoted. The second round, enforceability, would be decided at a later second vote while the Assembly moved to tackle other concerns. Allowing both sides to try and curry opinions from other countries to their side.

The second item on the docket was the product of Maeve Dolonescu, President of the United States of America after the departure of Horowitz, on Operation Domestic Peace. All British shipping will henceforth be escorted by warships of the Royal Navy and any attempt to stop said shipping will constitute as an act of war. The British government has been talking with Xi Xinping's government about talks in Geneva about the future of Hong Kong but with the CSR recent actions, these talks will not happen unless these trade sanctions are lifted. Tiger's Denied? Protests of Peace?

Protests in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Macau, Nanjing, Pyongyang, and various other cities came as a surprise for some. In Japan various youth burnt their draft notices in defiance. In Hong Kong crowds clashed with police while angrily projecting their cries to de-escalation. In China a series of student displays of protest temporarily halted military movements through sit-ins across military roadways. While in Korea various individuals paraded with banners proclaiming world peace.

Recruiting offices in Japan, Korea, and even China would come up short on their figures; With Japan by far suffering the most via no less then 700,000 enlistees short of their two million projection.

It was not clear what exactly was the boiling point. But the death of the Texas governor and arrest of several other prominent officials was likely the spark to light the open gas main that was American society. Clashes across cities in red states. These episodes often leading to wounded civilians and hospitalizations across the country. While local police forces often had to resort to tear gas and other means of crowd dispersion. A particularly nasty scene erupted in Charleston, South Carolina, when protestors and supporters clashed in a wild melee that local Police could not contain. Eventually, culminating in armed militia and ANTIFA members exchanging in a chaotic gun battle that left ten Americans dead and over a dozen wounded.

While State National Guards were called up and in a shocking display of local loyalty began to square up against United States Marine Corp forces. Blocking them on road ways and intersections. The acting Governors of Texas and Florida also proposed a word not seriously heard in the Halls of American politics in over one-hundred and sixty years. Secession. A move itself expedited by a rushed vote in the Texas State Legislature that saw invoked clauses in the state constitution. A deadline was set. Unless Dolonescu walked back all of her oppressing policies by July 1st. Texas would secede from the Union.

A move which Florida, Montana, Wyoming, South Carolina, Alabama, and Mississippi began to follow suit on with deliberations in their own state legislatures.

Madam President unlike your country, we don't have the problem of so called right wing terrorism so that is my reason for not supporting this proposal in the UN. If you had proposed to the North Atlantic Council then we would have been more considerate of the proposal. Madam President, I propose the two of us meet face so that we discuss lowering tensions between our two great nations and stop this from getting worse than it already is. As a peace offering,I will be ordering our UN Ambassador to abstain thus switching our position from opposed to neutral. If you have any questions, please direct to Minister Thompson." The Donbas Goes Hot...Again

The Donbas War had intermittent bouts of violence ever since a series of ceasefire agreements over the course of 2015 and 2016. Sporadic shelling, rocket attack, and gunfire to the point of normalization for the regions stout residents. Even if over one and a half million people have been displaced by the conflict's beginning in 2014. That took a turn into an abrupt, lethal, new chapter when Ukrainian forces opened fire from their positions. Russian reporters on the other side showed images of carnage and video footage of impacting Ukrainian artillery that was sudden, coordinated, and fierce. Separatist forces, initially taken aback by this, especially given the shelling occurred at night, did not answer in any coordinated fashion until just five minute before daybreak. A series of rocket and artillery strikes erupting from Separatist lines, complimented by thirty minutes of mortar shelling of Ukrainian positions, was the defined response.

While it is currently unclear as per Russia's response. Separatist governments in both the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics have declared the Ukrainians breaching previous ceasefire agreements no less then fifty-seven times in the span of minutes. And that is the mark of a coordinated offensive into their territory at any moment. Already, interviews with Separatist commanders, which naturally did not give specific details as to their movements, reported optimistically that front line formations are combat ready and reserves in place to contain a Ukrainian assault. Separatist strength being approximately forty-five thousand fighters and an estimated four thousand Russian volunteers with eleven thousand supporting militia.

So far Separatist forces have taken up defenses all along the front line. Consisting of trenches, anti-personnel and anti-tank mines, AA guns, and according to OSCE observers several SAM sites near Donetsk, Makiivka, Horlivka, Luhansk, Bryanka, and Snizhne. Artillery batteries and concentrated defenses primarily are around Donetsk, Makiivka, Horlivka, and the line of towns and villages to Luhansk all the way to the Russian border. While sixty kilometers south of Donetsk the front line becomes a series of strongpoints based in border buildings, towns, and villages. Due to the more sparsely populated southern coastal lands until one reaches the Ukrainian held city of Mariupol.

I am certain the United States and its current state of being have raised major concerns amongst you and your people. The turmoil present not only undermines the position of the US in the world but also threatens the security of the Americas. As member states of the OAS, we have sworn to uphold democracy and also national sovereignty among a host of other things. The actions of President Dolonescu and the secession movements threaten both of these things. If we continue to sit idly, nothing will be accomplished, and the US will implode upon itself creating massive turmoil.

It remains imperative that we act. I propose the creation of a task force and a committee to deal with the problems plaguing the US. Sanctions will be placed on the states threatening secession and their government and also placed on President Dolonescu's administration. Sanctions can and will be rolled back only if de-escalation occurs and the demands of the OAS task force and committee are met. If this effort at de-escalation fails and the US collapses into civil, a meeting of all OAS remember nations save for the US will be convened to map out an action plan.

Please respond as soon as possible to this letter, time is of the essence when it comes to this matter. If nothing changes, by July 1st, more drastic actions may have to be taken.
