He eventually says,"My reason for having multiple access points is to encircle attacking forces and counterattack, because the German army would not be defending, I believe. Empire of Japan

Japan had watched, isolated, the arrival of the Europeans and Americans into the East Asia region. It had traded with them, cautiously, but for the most part avoided closer relations with the fair-skinned foreigners who came on their ships of iron across the sea. Then, everything had changed when the Emperor restored his power from the Shogunate in the 1860s. The Empire of Japan was born, and the Rising Sun began modernizing itself with new, exotic Western technology. In time, it learned to wield and create such tech for its own, building a powerful navy and a modern army. The small, yet increasingly powerful nation quickly took advantage of this, annexing Korea and defeating the declining Qing China and Tsarist Russia in war, earning itself a place on the world stage with the powerful Western nations. Using this, it began expanding into its neighbors in East Asia. Korea, Manchuria, and the German Pacific colonies, all forcefully being incorporated into the Empire of the Rising Sun. Japan projects its power across the Pacific. However, the empire now faces a dilemma. It faces a shortage of natural resources. Oil, precious metals, rubber, they are needed to fuel Japanese economic growth. But Japan can only obtain them from the nation across the Pacific, the United States. But relations with the Americans are rapidly deteriorating. In order to preserve its growth and maintain sovereignty, Japan not just sets its sights on exploiting its rule of Manchuria, but on the whole of China and the Western colonies in the Pacific. For this, its arms itself and prepares for war.

Tokyo Imperial Palace, Tokyo, Empire of Japan

Standing in his chamber, Hirohito, the Emperor of Japan, sat in meeting with his military officers as well as his prime minister: Koki Hirota. They were discussing the shortage of natural resources that Japan faced and required for its expansion. "Your majesty," Hirota was saying, "the Dutch have sent us a message, proposing that oil from the Dutch East Indies be exported to Japan, and that Japan will be the main country to which the colony exports." One of the more militant officers said, "Bah, they can easily cut off the supply when they want to. If anything, we should take advantage of our growing military strength now and strike, seizing British and Dutch colonies for their rubber and oil, and colonizing China for the Rising Sun."

Hirohito was silent for a moment before he said "We will accept this deal. For now. Perhaps...in the future we will form the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere. Very, very near into the future." Hirohito had been learning to be emperor. He had been wielding this position of immense power for only a short period so far, after all. Nodding, the officers saluted and bowed to their emperor, said to be descended from the gods. "Also, we'll reply to those telegrams from Bhutan and the Soviets."

To the Dutch East Indies

"Esteemed Governor-General,
you seem to take an interesting notice in the affairs of the Empire of Japan. However, we are willing to cast a blind eye to this concerning your proposal. Yes, we are in need of oil, and are willing to trade our black gold for this resource. But there will be provisions in this agreement. Like you said, Japan will be the primary exporting destination for your oil.

The agreement must mention that Japan is, and will forever be, as long as your colony is in Dutch hands, the primary, favored export location. Japanese companies can also assume the responsibility of extracting this oil and employing the locals of the Dutch East Indies. That is all we ask. We hope you will agree to our terms for a bright future between Japan and the East Indies."

The Empire of Japan will work with Bhutan, and remove the European imperialist invaders that seek to occupy our great lands. Asia shall come under one united, Asian, co-prosperity sphere, including our nations."

After thinking for a while, Chiang decided to say "The Sino-Manchurian Border will be where the Japanese will most likely strike when it comes to a land invasion. The sea meanwhile, Japan will try to attack our coastal cities and start a naval invasion."

Mao decided to finally say about the letter he had received from Stalin. "I received a letter, stating that if the CCP were to betray the Nationalists, China would only lose a small piece of land to Japan, should it ever happen." Churchill immediately questioned "Did you accept it?" Mao sweated for a while, but eventually said "不，我沒有" Chiang decided to give context, "He says he did not."

Domergue decided to intervene slightly, "Alright, enough with the chatter. Does anyone have any plans for Asia?"

This is Bonifacius Cornelis de Jonge, the Governer-General of the Dutch East Indies speaking, and I shall start off by saying we had received your message regarding the Dutch East Indies' transmission of which I, personally had sent to you regarding a lucrative deal that could be struck between our Dutch Colony and the Japanese nation.

And I am, for one glad that the response given was one of positivity, even if there was a slight hint of... Well, forcefulness.
Nevertheless, I and the whole of the East Indies' colony would be a fool to argue with what you have offered us... However, I hope that I, and the people of which I govern are not seen as the lesser member of this deal... Though this century has been less than kind to the islands and it's inhabitants, the place has a rich history, and a unique culture that still lives today. From the times of the Majapahit to the golden era of Dutch colonialism, we have had much to offer to the world in previous history.
If true cooperation is to succeed, and allow the East Indies and Japanese civilizations to flourish under friendship, one party must not feel as if they are lesser, or greater to the other.

Ah, but I get off track. We accept that the Dutch East Indies shall export it's black gold and expendable minerals from our lands to feed the great Japanese state in return for a tidy profit, and that your nation shall, and always will be our main trading partner, as long as I, and my Dutch colleagues remain in control of these lands.
We hope to see a reply soon, accepting this mutually beneficial deal. I would suggest that we keep this as much of a secret from 'Unforeseen' threats for as long as possible... For instance, I may or may not have been completely honest to my superiors back in Amsterdam as to what I wish to achieve for this great land, and... Well, dishonesty is not looked fondly upon in this day and age, I am sure you understand. I believe that once the home country sees how lucrative trade is with the Japanese empire, however, their tune towards you will soon change.

May this be the beginning of a great relationship between the Dutch East Indies and the Japanese Empire."

“Well, about the situation with the Netherlands, sending troops at the same time as pursuing diplomacy seems a bit...backwards, don’t you think? We currently don’t have much reason to think Germany would attack them, especially considering that, from what I’ve heard, they are respecting Dutch neutrality. As for Asia, diplomacy would be harder, considering Japan’s imperialist ways, and I do believe we should prepare for a potential conflict there. I cannot guarantee that we, the Spanish State, will get ourselves involved, because as I stated earlier, we are not in a good state militarily or economically to fight in a war. We are still recovering from our destructive civil war. For the same reason, we may not be able to immediately enter this alliance that the French gentleman has proposed.”

Churchill, looking upset, says," Ok. Remember, Franco, and Coljin, the door is open for an alliance." He turns to the Chinese leaders. "While the Manchurian border is the most dangerous for your security, one ought to remember that the Japanese navy is one of the strongest on earth. You must be wary of naval invasions around large cities like Shanghai. Stalin could be a threat too, as they are influencing Sinkiang and Mongolia. The large deserts would be easy to march a large infantry army over. In short, China will need aid. I propose setting up an oil pipeline from Burma to China while reinforcing Chinese territory."
