1a. You mention that Andrew has with him an SMG that had been issued for the marines for today's mission. Does this mean that most marines have these for this mission instead of say Assault Rifles?
1b. Do the marines of the 83rd have specific weapons assigned to them which they then carry most of the or are they always assigned weapons depending on the mission?
2. Did you have something specific in mind for Bravo company when you said that they'd cover Charlie? Is it ok if i write my platoon of Bravo to secure places to put confiscated contraband, possible detained persons and wounded to?
1a. Yes, other than specific marines who would normally be toting around support weapons, the Marines all will be using SMGs for the mission.
1b. The marines all have weapons issued to them specifically. They would have a sidearm and void combat weapon or ground combat weapon depending on the mission. They basically be told which weapon they would be using for each mission but generally it wouldn’t be that much of a hard to guess thing.
2. The difficulty in securing a single room or two for keeping the contraband is that the perimeter in which Bravo company will be holding is going to be ever evolving. This is because there simply isn’t enough marines to do a station wide search all at once, so as Charlie company moves from section to section, Bravo will have to adjust their security perimeter.
Securing a single compound each and every time could get repetitive but it is also a valid way of securing the contraband...if you’re fine with toting it. To be honest, if you want to have your platoon in charge of contraband security then I’ll leave the details up to you, ingenuity is key in situations like this.
