It's that circular region owned by the Ironmark in the east, with Serebyan owning some of its southern portion. It's essentially the homeland of the Halflings. A fertile breadbasket with a fairly peaceful population, so a definite boon to whoever controls it

They are in the main document, under Art of Magic. The grades are at the end of the section.

Essential Details

Name: Theron of Tarsa

Appearance:

Theron's orcish armor

Age: 46

Gender: Male

Legacy

Allegiance: Company of the Silver Cloak

Profession: Warrior, Adventurer

Background: An exile and noble from Nekhur, Theron's family, the mixed Thalassan-Khloraean House of Vardanes, had ruled the great eastern port city of Tarsa for six generations. As a boy and teenager, Theron had received all the requisite martial and literary education demanded of a highborn elder son in the empire. At the age of nineteen he had even accompanied his father, Ariston, to the capital of Eatar, where he briefly met Mnesus of Tyria, now the all-powerful ruler of Nekhur.

Unbeknownst to Theron, his father was a central figure in the Plot of Seventeen, the last great conspiracy to deny Mnesus of Tyria the power that he now holds over the empire. Seventeen nobles and army generals rose up against him, seizing a number of important cities. However, the bulk of the army remained loyal to Mnesus. One by one, the isolated rebellions were stamped out. Theron fought alongside his father atop the walls of Tarsa, the last stronghold of the uprising, but before the city fell, Ariston had his only child drugged with potions, bound, and smuggled out aboard the last ship out of Tarsa.

Theron awoke in Serebyan. Without family or fortune, he was forced into work as a sellsword for a number of years, soldiering throughout the Southern Realms for this lord or that one. In this manner, he amassed a fair amount of coin and a few men of his own. His success aroused the attention of the Company of the Silver Cloak, a famed company of warriors founded by Nekhuran exiles and fugitives who were no longer welcome in the empire for one reason or another. Their leader, the Khloraean Erastos the Blue, was known throughout Minilar as one of the greatest warriors of his day. An invitation was extended, and Theron joined their famed number.

In those days the Silver Cloaks added greatly to their already immense reputation, fighting battles, slaying monsters and rescuing princesses on behalf of whoever could pay them. Always, though, they kept their burning rage at Nekhur in the back of their minds. One day, they would return. Theron quickly proved himself as a warrior of great repute in his own right, earning in a few years the utmost trust of Erastos and the position of the strategos' First Captain. Theron's personal exploits in this period are too many to list, but chief among them include the slaying (with a number of other companions) of the lich-king Verras in Severa, and the fathering of a son, Kleitos, with the widowed Duchess of Sorn.

It was the death of Verras that was perhaps the most consequential. From the ashen corpse of the lich Theron recovered an amulet, the Sable Chain, which he found greatly enhanced his otherwise meager magical abilities. With the chain, he could be a mage as well as a warrior, and far more powerful than before. He soon discovered the price of this boon: within the amulet was an enslaved vampire-spirit, Kresimir Modzelewski, who parasitically bonded himself to his new master. Thereafter, Theron could call upon the vampire's great powers in battle, but was forced to feed the creature souls to sustain the 'gift.' He also gained an unwanted companion inside his head, and has at times been forced to divert to fulfill some inscrutable objective of Kresimir's. Now he fears that his own soul will be the final price of the dark bargain. Among the Silver Cloaks, Theron has been able to keep this terrible secret quiet - only his son Kleitos and best friend Tychon are aware. In the meantime, Kresimir made Theron into a great warrior - and seemingly slowed the process of aging in the Talassan's body. As First Captain, Theron was at Erastos' side for every battle, every exploit. Together, they stamped the name of the Silver Cloaks on the pages of history.

Some ten years ago, Erastos led the Silver Cloaks across the sea to Cadmira, where they contracted with Basuvar to fight the growing power of the orcish Ishkhanate. Although they won battles and performed deeds worthy of song for several years, they were too few to check the expansion of the Ishkhan. Five hundred men, however skilled and brave, could not stand in the way of the new empire. At the Battle of Bakhmaro over half their number fell, along with the legendary Erastos himself. The survivors regrouped in Basuvar and elected Theron as their new strategos.

Seeing that the struggle against the Ishkhanate was likely lost, Theron brought the Company back across the sea. After defending Valore in its war against Tirest and Erimber, the Silver Cloaks have found their way to Ironmark. With news of the rebellion in Tervain, the battle-hardened veterans of the Company now see a chance to fulfill part of their original purpose: they will jump at the chance to war with the bull of Nekhur.

Beliefs

Religion: Theron was raised among the pantheon of the Ten Thousand of Talassa, the ultra-polytheistic faith of the Talassan people. Although he is not particularly religious, he still observes the rites for the sake of public appearances, and prays on occasion to Hesperos, the spirit of Tarsa and that city's patron god for many thousands of years.

Motivation: As Strategos of the Silver Cloaks, Theron has a responsibility to lead his men and win them greater wealth and glory without getting them all killed. He has also sworn an oath to fulfill the purpose of his late mentor, Erastos the Blue, which is to fight Nekhur as often and as ferociously as possible. He would also like to return to his ancestral seat of Tarsa one day, though this seems far off and is in contradiction with his duties as Strategos. Failing an eventual return home, Theron knows that he must secure a future for his son, Kleitos. And of course, he seeks an end to his bargain of power with the vampire Kresimir, who haunts his thoughts and may yet come for his soul.

Inventory

Items: -Chrysaor, his family's ancestral sword
-Orcish captain's armor
-The Sable Chain (containing the vampire, Kresimir)
-His horse, Mincho

Skills: Theron excels in the profession of soldier, being a highly skilled and experienced swordsman and tactician. In a similar vein, his qualities as a leader of men have allowed him to hold the Silver Cloaks together, even after the disaster at Bakhmaro.

Magical Ability: Yes, but worth noting that Theron has no arcane abilities himself. Instead, his magical ability is derived from the ancient vampire Kresimir, who lives trapped inside the amulet known as The Sable Chain. Kresimir is a renegade sorcerer who has no affiliation with either the Collegiate or the Convocation. Or, if he did, those associations are now certainly void. He is a Fellow-level Cantatar, skilled in nullifying or disrupting enemy spells. This is obviously a great boon to Theron's abilities, but there are other arts that the vampire jealously guards from his host. These include divination and Haematurgy, the blood magic. Theron knows little to nothing of these and cannot control them. It is unkown to what extent the vampire has mastered either, but Theron suspects it is a great deal.

Essential Details

Name of Organization: The Company of the Silver Cloak

Leader(s): -Strategos Theron of Tarsa
-First Captain Tychon Katsifaris
-First Mage Gregor de Beausoleil

Description: An independent company of warriors founded circa 1370 by Erastos the Blue and several dozen Nekhuran rebels and exiles. Originally created as an insurgent group that might carve a new state out of the massive empire, the Silver Cloaks eventually crossed the border into the Southern Realms and gradually morphed into a mercenary group that fought for coin, though they never quite abandoned their original purpose. The Silver Cloaks soon opened up to all nationalities and races, but always remained as a refuge for exiles and fugitives fleeing the empire. Since their founding they have fought in both Minilar and Cadmira, impressing employer and enemy alike with their bravery, skill, and consummate professionalism - the Company's code of discipline is strict, and offenders are dealt with mercilessly. Part of their reputation is built on their having never 'flipped.' That is, the Silver Cloaks have never voided a contract when the other side has offered them a superior price. To them, the military contract is a sacred thing, and to switch sides for coin is to besmirch the honor of the whole Company. For this reason monarchs and rulers across the Southern Realms have come to implicitly trust the word of the Silver Cloaks. Although their strength was halved by the disastrous Battle of Bakhmaro in 1432, they are still a highly dependable force of veteran soldiers and mages. Though a plurality of them still hail from Nekhur, mostly the two Talassas and Khloraea, every major race and nearly every one of the Southern Realms are represented in the Company's ranks.

Assets: The Company owns chapter houses in Valore and Severa, which is where most of their recruiting is conducted these days, where the badly wounded are sent to recover if possible, and where much of the wealth accrued in their campaigns is stored away.

Strength: -200 warriors, some dozen mages

Relations: -Nekhur: hated
-Valore: Friendly
-Severa: Cordial

Name: The Sable Chain
Image or Description: A simple black chain of unknown material looped around a strange green stone that seems to shift slightly in color as one looks directly at it.
Function: The Chain bonds immediately to its wearer, granting him Kresimir's magical powers but insisting on a steady consumption of souls (three or four every week, at minimum use) to feed it. It also grants the vampire direct access into the wearer's thoughts, allowing for direct communication.
Users: Theron of Tarsa is the current user. In theory, Kresimir should be able to bond with any wearer, but Theron has tried to pawn off the ungodly thing before and Kresimir has taken . . . deadly measures to ensure that he always returns to Theron.
Creation: It's exact origin is unknown, but Theron assumes that the lich-king Verras constructed it many centuries ago as a cage to hold the vampire Kresimir Modzelewski, whom he wanted to keep around for his own purposes.
Purpose: Theron has come to see the Chain as a curse, and would like very much to get rid of it, despite the power it grants him. Thus far, all attempts to do so have been in vain. Kresimir has his own inscrutable reasons for bonding to Theron; of course, it gives him a capable vessel and newfound mobility, as well as a usually compliant source of souls. But there must be other, even darker things that the vampire wants with the Talassan adventurer.

I'll probably make an app for Theron's son Kleitos later. If you would like me to make a separate app for the vampire Kresimir, I can do that too.

Largely done, needs some modification

Essential Details

Name of Realm: Serebyani Dominion, Serebyan

Rulers:
Archduke Rabinov of Ivanivostok
Grand Duke Bukanin of Sredgorod
Grand Duke Mikaelovich of Byelayareka
Patriarch Andropov of Zoloto

The Dominion is organized into a series of duchies of various rank and size. The smallest, and least powerful, duchies are ruled by Dukes. They have a seat on the Ducal Assembly. The Assembly elects the Archduke. Dukes rule their realm with a fair degree of autonomy. The more powerful dukes are called Grand Dukes and rule Grand Duchies. These Grand Dukes are entitled to larger personal retinues and guaranteed a Lords Ministerial positions, such as that of Lord of the Archducal Purse. There are five Grand Duchies. Generally, but not legally, the Archduke is elected from among the Grand Dukes. Archduke Rabinov is the first Archduke from a regular Duchy in three generations. Normally, non-Grand Archdukes are mere puppets of one or more of the Grand Dukes. However Rabinov was able to secure an election by playing two Grand Dukes, Bukanin and Mikaelovich, off the other. The Archduke is the elected ruler of the realm. He commands the armies and nominates appointees to the Lords Ministerial. They are required to abdicate their traditional seat to their next-of-kin upon ascending and rule for twenty years. An Archduke is ex officio Grand Duke of Zoloto. A retired Archduke, rare as few live old enough, is granted the Duchy of Severni Kulak.

Cultures and Races:Serelyodi: The Serelyodi are the main inhabitants of the Dominion. They're of a light shade of olive skin, moderate stature, and generally red or blonde of hair. Serelyodi are a fiercely religious folk. The dominant local faith is that of the Martyr. Serelyodi originated on the island of Serebyan and its neighbors northward. They've since intermingled with the various local groups they've annexed, long ago blending the various ethnic groups. Nowadays pure-blooded Serelyodi stock is indistinguishable from any other who claim the race, except in the ancient mage lines. Serelyodi mages have long and noble lineages. One of the most noted traits of Serelyodi mages is the near-universal presence of albinism in those with magic. Serelyodi are focused on the material word, as dictated by the Tenets of the Martyr.

Religion:The Faith of the Martyr is the dominant and state religion of the Dominion. The religion revolves around veneration of the Martyr, a long-ago Serelyodi who created the Kulak Sea and Serebyan Island from his life force to allow the Serelyodi to grow and prosper in peace. It's central rules and laws are laid down in the Twenty Tenets of the Martyr. Largely these focus around mastering nature and turning land productive. Untouched nature is anathema to Serelyodi, who seek to turn all to farmlands or cities or mines.

History:

WIP Potential Revised Serelyodi Timeline - just to give me a outline for writing the development of the Dominion

Classical Antiquity - Human vassals of Severa are granted lands around the then-Taliac Bay. Struggles occur between the landed human nobility and the elven Mage-Princes. Humans forms broad alliances with the other Kynd. Seafaring humans begin to arrive in the Taliac bay from other regions, bringing with them clans of magic wielders who have skin and hair devoid of color, with eyes red as rubies. The new immigrants quickly merge with the preexisting humans there, creating a new ethnic group that is now called the Serelyodi.

Elfenblight - Pogroms against elves and half-elves occur in many cities, most elves leace the Taliac Bay region. Reprisals occur against some human nobles for failing to protect the Elves. Severan authority in the region begins to fade.

Harmendil - The Duchy of Grand Zoloto is given fairly autonomous status by Firulion as a means to keeping the rabidly anti-elven region in the empire. Alliances between the Convocation and the powerful alchemist families began to solidify.

Calima - Grand Zoloto became independent in all but name in the years leading up to the Dragonwrath. Following the Dragonwrath, the Grand Duchy began to vassalize, ally, and conquer other autonomous Caliman human duchies to its north.

Tulcar - The feudal lands in Tulcar were embroiled by civil war following the state's collapse. Beginning with the Island of Taliannas, the Grand Duchy conquered south in the ensuring decades. With the help of the Convocation and a shared cultural-economic-kynd supremacist worldview, the Grand Duchy unified the Taliac Bay by the turn of the millennium,

Assets

Notable Cities:
Zoloto: is the capital and largest city of the realm. It is located halfway down the Lyedniko Fjord on Serebyan Island. The city is a major port, with a vast protected natural harbor allowing ships to weather there safe from the Western Ocean's storms. The city grew prosperous off the Western Ocean Trade as well as trade bound-for and leaving the Kulak Sea. Zoloto's most iconic features are its vast stone walls that partially hewn from the surrounding mountains. Beyond that the city has a massive bazaar and the famous Serebyani Arsenal. It is treated as the ex officio demense of the Archduke.

Sredgorod: Ducal Seat of the Mikaeloviches. On the Kulak Sea, it is the major northern port. Almost all grain from the Aratska Valley, one of the two major breadbaskets for the nation.

Byelayareka: Ducal Seat of the Bukanins. Located on Knyaz Ruridov Island, the port city controls the confluence of the Kulak Sea, White River, and the Velikovan Strait. Trade down the White River from the northern realms brings much in the way of food while goods from around the Kulak are shipped up.

Ivanivostok: Ducal Seat of the Rabinovs. It is located far inland, for a Serebyani City, on the Ulanov River. It is nested in the Fyodor Hills. The region is rich with mineral resources and provides the realm with much of its iron and tin, and the Rabinovs with coin.

Economy: Economy: The economy, like most, is largely agricultural based. The White River Valley and the Aratska Valley are the main breadbaskets for the Dominion. Here farms are centrally run and far more productive than smaller farms of the rest of the realm. The vast, slow rivers provide a steady source of rich soil and water for crops. Fishing is another major source of food, as the Kulak is brackish in nature and possesses many teeming mangroves. There is a rapidly rising artisan class. The Dominion has always had its fair share of artisans and craftsmen. It's shipwrights are among the best in the world, particularly for oceangoing vessels. Not all seas are as kind as the ones to the south or the gentle Kulak. Merchants and tradesmen alike call the Dominion home. It is a major nexus of the trade network of the Western Ocean. The long stability of the realm has allowed infrastructure to develop much unlike the rest of the world. The central nature of the Kulak has allowed for easy maritime trade. Ancient irrigation networks, tended to by the Dukes, allow for cultivation of greater spreads of land. Trade brings wind of new innovations from afar, which while slowly adopted, are nonetheless considered. Serebyani carracks carry goods wide and far.

Population: Serebyan is among the most populous Southron Realms. Likely second only to Valamir or perhaps all of Avencor. ~16,000,000

Military

Command: The Archduke appoints a Lord Ministerial titled the Captain-General to command the Archducal Guard in peace and the total army in wartime. The Arhducal Guard are five hundred men who guard the Archducal Palace. The Grand Dukes and Dukes collectively have a few thousand retainers that are placed under the Captain-General in times of war but are commanded by their Duke's appointee. The navy is commanded by a Lord Ministerial called the Sea Lord.

Strength: The land forces of the Dominion can be broken down into four main groups. The feudal levees are by far the largest component of any army and are the least well trained and equipped. These are truly the peasants of the realms who are being forced into arms. They can usually campaign for a season. This force is called the Orda. The second group is the Ducal Retainers, called the Svita. Each Duke in the Assembly is required to provide a retinue of soldiers. These soldiers are well trained and equipped. They are usually either cavalry or crossbowmen, depending on the wealth of the Duchy. The wealthier duchies provide heavy cavalry, the middle tier ones provide light horse, and the poorer ones provide crossbowmen. The third group are the Spasateli. These are the forces of the Grand Dukes, each assigned a matching Lord-Captaincy on the border. These are the first lines of defense for any given section of the border and are a diverse and large force. The final group is the Archducal Guard, the personal army of the Archduke. It is the single largest force other than the Orda, larger than any Spasateli though smaller than all five combined. The armies of the Dominion are generally infantry forces, utilizing cavalry as scouting or skirmishing elements. There are heavy cavalry elements, but those are generally only used against smaller neighbors. The Ironmark and Valamir have mastered the horse where Serebyan mastered the seas. To counter their horsebound rivals, Serebyan's infantry has developed strong anti-cavalry tactics. The current formation preferred by the Svita, Spasateli, and Guard are to use polearm squares with axe/mace/swordsmen on the inner ring and corners. In the center are archers.

The core of the navy is built around two squadrons. The Kulak Squadron is built around galleys and galleasses while older cogs and newer carracks are the core of the Western Ocean fleet. Unlike many of the Dominion's contemporaries, the dominion has wide exposure to both inland seas and open ocean, necessitating the two different squadrons. Each squadron can be buffed with extra ships during wartime taken from the civilian trading fleets, though generally the rather large navy is enough on its own. It is the dominant branch of the military, proportionally far larger than the army and far more important. Much of the navies construction happens in the Serebyani Arsenal, which is capable of the astounding production rate of a galley a day. Other shipyards in the Dominion, as with abroad, often take months to complete ships.

Diplomatic Relations

Interests: Stalling Nekhur's advance, exploring the Western Ocean, increasing control of trade south

Rivals: Valamir in general and Ironmark for the Moot,

I would also be open to someone playing as the Church of the Martyr or as academia in the Archducal Colleges.

Alright, I'm going to go for the Duke of Avion. A wily man, who knows his alliance with Nekhur is a precarious one, and who wants to make most of his situation while he can. Hopefully not by seeking the help of dark forces, but you never know what someone might do in a pinch.

The Koinon doesn't exist anymore in Scions since I couldn't mesh its established lore with the world/its position in it, so you'll want to get rid of all the references to it.

Ah, damn, okay. I was wondering why they were absent from the lore. I guess I can just make the Silver Cloaks Nekhur exiles/fugitives in general instead of Koinon nationalists.

Yeah, that's the reason why they're gone but that probably works.

Hmm, not sure yet. I only briefly skimmed through the lore so far. They very well could be. You could think of them as better trained, better equipped and more loyal Mercenaries but in a smaller number. They take payment mainly in rights to land and connections than purely gold, so they could very well be involved in some conflicts for various reasons

Name of Organization: Barley Regiment

Leader(s): Basoth Opalbrew

Description: The Dragonwake had caused the whole of Dwarven civilization to slowly decline, with plenty of holds now in extreme disrepair, under constant assault from horrors from the deep, and likewise. The rocky-homes of the Dwerrow were no longer safe or all that economically sound anymore. The glory days of the Dwarves are long gone. Many of the Dwerrow now seek work elsewhere, outside of their mighty fortresses. The Barley Regiment are among the many Dwarves that crave themselves a living in the face of their decaying civilization. What was supposed to be a temporary name, the Barley Regiment, are a highly professional mercenary band. War is a constant, and there will be no shortage of work in the future - a very good business prospect for the Barley Regiment. Gold and glory are all that the Barley Regiment wants, but on a deeper level, they wish for their civilization to be great once more, but that is a story for another time.

Assets: The Barley Regiment march in heavy armor from head to toe, showcasing Dwarven smithing and craftwork in its fullest. Each Dwarf wields a shield and spear for their primary armament, while a heavy single-handed axe serves as a backup. The Barley Regiment is known for their extreme steadfast nature; either the enemy breaks first or the whole regiment dies. There is no in-between. The Barley Regiment laugh at the face of a cavalry charge, knowing that they either die in a glorious death, or they break the charge. Stepping away from their combat prowess, the Barley Regiment has support elements such as blacksmiths, medics, clerics, and merchants, that ensure that Barley Regiment is well maintained.

Strength: 1050 Dwarfs

Relations: If there’s coin and glory then they will be there.

No, that app won't be necessary. What level are those mages? I'm assuming very basic to be working as mercenaries. Consider it accepted!

(remember to change it in your app regardless).

Aye, what was once the mainland Koinon is now just Khloraea, which covers the !Greeks linguistically. The Talassans are more akin to pre-Greek Anatolians, such as the Luwians, Hittites, etc. While the islands of the former Koinon are now the 'Lost Isles', which are, beyond some coastal havens, quite dangerous for humans.

Wow, that is an insane amount of lore. I am not entirely sure if I should be impressed or concerned. :p
