"An attack against the Texas Rangers. That's what she wants. Well, well, well. It seems isolation is now in the past. Lieutenant, what's the status of I Corps?" General Greymoore had been waiting for a war his whole life. His entire time spent at the War Offices was dedicated to preparations for the inevitable war against the Texas Rangers. Finally, the time had come.
"Sir, I Corps ready at the border and are prepared to march into Arkansas," replied Lieutenant Barker.
"Good, send a message to General Samuels to send his troops in."
"Yes, sir."

The message was sent and the troops moved forth. This wouldn't be an easy war. The Texas Rangers had grown quite cunning in the early 60s to the point where they could take out anyone who entered their lands. But, now they had grown complacent. The last significant move into Arkansas was in the 70s and ended in disaster, with ten thousand casualties. But this time, things would be different. This time they had the new CAR-15 brand of firearms. More modular than anything that came before. Whatever role they needed to be fulfilled, the CAR-15 would be there. The principle weapon for this would be the M16, far superior to the old M14, still used by the Rangers. With the new weapons, the war would be far more feasible than previous wars.

The 1st Motorised Division led the way for the troops, supported by F-104 Starfighters, which took out enemy encampments from the skies. This was going to be a rough war but the Dominion was ready.

The radio was buzzing like mad. Truly, the world was much larger than what we all thought. This South Polynesia could make an interesting partner in the future. Too bad we hadn't had contact from Panama. Maybe that needs to change. Anyway, we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves. First, we need a good response. One that is friendly and dignified. Trading might be unfortunately out of the question after the Fireland incident. Maybe, we could use planes. Yes, that would have to do, although the Texan Rangers might not like planes flying over their airspace.

The Magellan Straights are cursed and any ships we send there are lost and never heard from again. As for planes, well, let's say the Old Union was a bit too keen on anti-air defences and didn't have enough security protecting said defences from intruders. Although, we would be glad to have some sort of relationship, even if it must be limited to radio broadcasts. Perhaps, when we can send a fleet to restore the Panama Canal, we can a proper trade partnership. But that seems a long way away. Anyway, we do find it interesting of all the places to have a great civilisation, it was a group of islands in the Pacific. Anyways, we would be interested in pursuing a relationship, limited as it may be.

The Emperor of Polynesia, Makani would have dropped any of his work that he was doing... Right now, he is excited, curious, maybe even a little apprehensive about contact with another nation. This 'Dominion of America' could very well be a great ally to Polynesia's future, or a powerful enemy if either his state or theirs found problematic differences in eachother.
As he'd be brooding, predicting, worrying, a member of staff of the palace would come into the room once more, make a quick snap salute, and then say:

Emperor Makani would give a smile to the staff. They have been taught to flatter him at whatever chance they can get, it's nice, though it can get a little tiresome sometimes.

Thank you for responding to us so soon, Supreme Protector. As the representative of the Polynesian people, I shall say that we are very much pleased that the Dominion of America is seeking to be good friends with the Union of South Polynesia, and I'm sure you will be glad to know that my nation shares the same sentiment.
I would perhaps guess that our nation may appear as a little bit of an anomaly, no? It seems that whatever force that caused the Cataclysm of the 1940's seemed to skip our humble islands. I guess in this case being at the edge of the world and forgotten by most proves beneficial for us Polynesians sometimes! (*Small chuckle*) Polynesia shares a united heritage, culture, people, despite the distance between many of our islands, so as soon as we made solid contact with each other, unification was only a matter of time... It is truly a shame that our brothers and sisters in the north failed to see this our way. I'm sure with time, they can also be convinced to agree with unification. It is my humble job as Emperor of the Polynesians to unify all of us and create a unified Polynesia for the first time in history!

"It's quite simple really, our current estimates concluded that we have the strategic advantage of being able to commit to a protracted war of attrition against the Anglo-Nordics, and now their likely Teuton allies." Yazov started.

"Yes but that's only assuming they don't seek additional strategic resources from importation once their reserves begin to run dry." Beria then wheezed in response.

"Indeed, which is why we must hurt these capitalists where it hurts most, their 'free' market economies. Which is why I propose we reach out to the Arab states of Xenick, and get them into our sphere of influence, and deny their exportation of oil to foreign to instead to be sent to us and only us." Yazov then offered.

"So we create an artificial oil crisis to the Western World?" Another wheeze came, followed by a cough.

"Yes, we'll appeal to their hatred of the Europeans, while we benefit from driving their economies slowly to a ground halt."

Several heavy-duty helicopters carrying what would appear to be oversized high-impact bomb casings that would conventionally be intended to be used to carry a rather absurd amount of munitions had since arrived in the Lab facility. Lysenko, not being one to delay his work any further immediately ordered his ground crews to bring the casings into the lab.

One of the foremen then came up to the Head Soviet Scientist, his face in shock and positively glowing. "Sir, we have a problem, we have a major leakage in Materials Handling and our personnel have been locked out and are getting exposed!"

Lysenko simply looked at him and smirked, "It's to be expected, this facility was rather hastily constructed after all. Get what people you can out, and focus on these bomb casing will you."

"But Sir those men could die in there if the sanitation systems are going haywire!" The foreman then screamed.

Lysenko then shot back at glare at him. "I've made myself clear, did I?"

"Yes Sir... You did." The foreman went cold as he then realized what had happened, it was another 'experiment' in the works. Bastard! He thought to himself as he was forced to leave the Mad Scientist to his devices.

Lysenko could only look on as the bomb casings were then brought into his Lab, in the hope they can offer a more decisive 'short-term' solution to the Anglo-Nordic problem in due time.

Hambro Broster sat in his palace for quite some time contemplating the deal. The Europeans were monsters and deserved more punishment, but they were also major powers and could possibly sour the worlds view of Southern Xenick. He read it again and his eyes widened. A gargantuan nation with a large military could help protect us, and if we give them oil we could be unstoppable. Not to forget the lucrative oil deals. That would do it, he had made up his mind.

Charles would be quite tired after the entire week's worth of political work and statecraft handling, he was about to head to his personal chambers when suddenly a transmission would arrive. He turned on the speaker and listened in.

"This is an incoming transmission from the Union of South Polynesia, I am Emperor Makani, and I rule over these great lands. As this new dawn turns for the world, we are now attempting to contact any other civilisation out there, in the hopes that someone, anyone survived and rebuilt after the Cataclysm...
Please reply at your earliest convenience, we are deeply curious as to what has become of this world."

Charles would be surprised at this, to think that South Polynesia actually survived and formed its own nation. Without hesitation, charles immediately replied with his own. Directing the transmission to South Polynesia.

"This is Grand Emperor Charles Von Roland, One of the Sovereigns of the United Imperium of Svenska-Britannia. We hear your attempts at contact and are happy to hear another nation's voice. But as of this time, im afraid you have caught me at a bad time. The United Imperium is currently in a Standoff with a restored 'Soviet Union' in the Baltic Sea, we hoped they would stop their attempts at trespassing but they insist on being in the Baltics. So now warships are currently in a fierce standoff against both nation's navies, unable to establish a proper diplomatic course of action.." He replied, sending the message immediately after.

The Chieftess, Malie Lea'ai would be in her office once more. She does not really get much time to relax during the days, and this is ever more true now. After establishing contact with some extra - nationals, namely the people of a nation known as 'Iberia', she convinces herself that this contact may not be a fluke. More nations may have recieved the messages broadcasted to them by his grand Emperor Makani.
She would not yet know how right her sentiment had been. As she is reading a newspaper, finely printed and detailing Polynesia's discovery of a nation in the old United States of America's borders, another official would make his way into her office, seemingly expectant of her attention..

..As she looks up to see what is wrong, the official starts:

"Madam Lea'ai, so sorry to bother you. The LRT in the room has detected and intercepted another message from a foreign nation. We thought it may be the Iberians again, but it predicted the origin point to be Stockholm."

"Stockholm? That old capital of the nation of Sweden? I thought it's civilisation had collapsed due to the cataclysm, that's intriguing. Come, let us hear of what it has to say."

With that, the Official would lead the Chieftess towards the room with the LRT at a rather brisk pace..
.. Soon enough, they'd be inside of it. As dull as it ever was, Malie Lea'ai will make a mental note to get some workers to revamp the room at some point, considering it's usefulness that it could prove to have.
Nevertheless, the LRT sits still on the table in front of them... If objects were sentient, it would seem like it's almost waiting for them. The official quickly walks up to it, and slams one of his fingers on the machine, and it whirrs and beeps, before sending out it's stored message:

Malie Lea'ai would look at the official with incredulousness. This was a large information dump. Firstly, she had to admit that Sweden did indeed not fall because of the Cataclysm, and in addition, united with the British Isles. How this occurred, who could tell. This new nation is worrying for South Polynesia, them claiming to be an 'Imperium' is something scary, considering it connotes imperialism. Polynesia had suffered enough from imperialism, most would rather see their guts spilled out of their chests than become subjects once more.
In addition, the Soviet Union? From what the Chieftess would remember, it was in the midst of a brutal invasion by a powerful Germanic nation as the Cataclysm struck. How could they have survived both events.
And she is disappointed in the Human race. As the new millennium starts, after a century of complete disaster which almost caused the world to enter a new stone age, people still cannot learn to get along... Is Svenska - Britannia the ones in the right in their standoff with the Soviets? Maybe... It could just as well be the other way around as well. But, for both states to refuse to make diplomacy with eachother delivers a harrowing message to the world.
The Human Race will still find ways to pick fights with eachother, even after travesty teaching them the error of their ways.

She would sigh slowly, before slowly turning dials, and pressing buttons. After around half a minute of hesitation, she would deliver a message back to Stockholm:

"Nuku'Alofa, South Polynesia to Stockholm, Sweden-Britain.
Good day to you. I am Malie Lea'ai, the Chieftess, President if you'd prefer to refer to me as such of South Polynesia. We are glad that a nation has risen out of the ashes of Northern Europe, and we give you our best wishes for your future.
And we appreciate you notifying us of the existence of the Soviet Union. We find it interesting that not only had that nation survived an awful invasion by an enemy, but the Cataclysm to boot, it seems the Russians have always been hardy people. It is a shame that your ideological preference, or perhaps another reason prevents the two of your nations reaching a diplomatic conclusion to your problems, and I would hope, perhaps urge even for the two of your nations to see past your differences.
The world has already been taught of needless aggression, the Human Race does not need more of it.

With another long sigh, Malie Lea'ai would press her finger against the button of the machine, sending her dispatch towards Stockholm. She shudders at the thought of her message being considered negatively by this Charles von Roland, she hopes that the two nations that border the Baltic can find a way to fix their problems without warfare, but she somehow doubts that will be the case...

Malie Lea'ai, the Chieftess of Polynesia had just sent a reply to the nation who call themselves Svenska-Britannia, and she was dissapointed at the news of their standoff with a revived Soviet Union. She has yet to understand who of the two nations is the one with the lower moral ground here, picking between Nationalistic Imperialism and what was, and may still be Authoritarian Communism is an extremely hard choice.
She would make a decision, in order to get more information about this standoff, and perhaps get a perspective on the event, she would send a message towards Moscow, protected with military grade encryption, and sent in Maori for good measure. She would hope that the people in charge of this new Soviet Union would be smart enough to translate Maori into their own language...

...With a few turns of a dial, and pressing of some buttons, the Long Range Transmitter would be prepared to receive a message, and send it towards the old capital of Moscow.

Good day to the revived Soviet Union. My compliments to your nation and the people in not only surviving the Cataclysm, but also surviving the brutal invasion of your lands by a foreign nation beforehand, the Russian Spirit is truly something worth merit.
I am Malie Lea'ai, of the Union of South Polynesia. After the Cataclysm dissolved the various imperialistic empires of it's time, us Polynesians saw an opportunity to unite as one nation. We will never again fall to the terrors of imperialism, and we believe should an Empire start a formation once again, that it is the responsibility of the Free World to bring it down.
I know that our nations are quite different ideologically, and definitely in Geography, but South Polynesia would be interested in establishing diplomatic relations with the Union, if so possible. However, no one really knows what specifically destroyed the Canal. At least until now. For we have sent a fleet to investigate what happened and if possible restore the Canal to working condition. As far as the Magellan Straits go, the last time we sent a research fleet there, we lost contact with them 10 miles off the coast of the Firelands, I believe it was once called Terre Defego (OOC: Tierra del Fuego). Like clockwork, Malie Lea'ai would be assaulted with yet another beep and whir from the LRT, and she was prepared for this. She was waiting tentatively and with apprehension for two transmissions to be returned to Nuku'Alofa to be intercepted. The European Situation that she has become aware of worries her, sure Europe is a long way away from the Polynesian Islands, but that did not stop them from coming all the way from their lands to subjugate her ancestors.
With a small sigh, she would stop staring into space, and look back at the machine. The message did not come from Moscow, nor Stockholm or London, rather Madrid...
Finally, it seems that the Iberians have made their reply. She would press the button on the Long Range Transmitter, it would click and whir before communicating the message:

The Emperor of All Polynesia, Makani would be satisfied with himself, as he sits within his office. He believe that he has now found a great ally for Polynesia in the Dominion of America. He has told his staff to take the bulky LRT from the briefing room, and lug it and in addition plug it into his own office / bedroom, so he could receive responses quicker and with more convenience.
And indeed it would be plugged into a place within his chamber, and he'd look with curiosity as the staff prepares it for use... Almost as soon as it had booted up, it would buzz and whir, it had just now received a message.

The staff would give a curious look to Makani, and they would wonder whether he would make a move to receive it. Indeed, the Emperor would, he would get up from his chair, and walk up to the machine, as the crowd would disperse, leaving the room quickly for his privacy. Once close enough, Makani would press a button on it, and it would start transmitting a message:

The Emperor would give a light chuckle, for some reason due to the response. He mutters quietly to himself "Terre Defego? That's a cute way to say Tierra Del Fuego." He would also take consideration of the rest of the message, the chaos caused by the Cataclysm caused the Panama Canal to see a firefight, and by that logic, damage. That is unfortunate, that route would've been extremely useful, and he'd hope that it could be fixed and manned once more.
In addition, he would be confused about the disappearances in the Magellan Straits. What could cause an entire fleet to disappear? Pirates? Perhaps, but you'd expect a SOS message to be dispatched back to command if that was the case... Very mysterious, perhaps Polynesia should be the one to solve the mystery... He'd consider sending a military fleet to the Magellan in order to find out.

But for now, the priority would be replying to the message. He'd click a few buttons and turn a few dials, before relaying a message back to Raleigh:

"Greetings once again to the Dominion of America.
I would like to thank you, on behalf of all of Polynesian's citizens for your very warm welcome, and friendliness to us... Some may be wary of anything that comes out of the old United States of America, after all it was that nation which subjugated our brothers and sisters on the Isles of Hawaii all those years ago, but I consider that to be in the past.
Once again, a shame that diplomacy cannot be continued between us, past simply sending transmissions. I would be honoured to send a force from Papa'ete or South Tarawa in order to help the Dominion of America restore the Panama Canal, if you would so wish it to be. I believe that we will develop a bond that can stand the test of time, that is assuming that you don't fall to the old union's belief of Manifest Destiny and colonise our lands again...

DNS Washington, Caribbean Sea on the way to the Panama Canal
It was finally time to put Operation Cold Cobra into action. The Jewel of the Dominion, the DNS Washington, alongside 5 other vessels would be the first to find out what happened to the Canal. This would a historic moment for both the Dominion and for young Fleet Admiral Roger Pike. The journey would be long but worth it. They had a large complement of the best scientists and engineers that Dominion had to offer. Admiral Pike gazed into the distance as a young lieutenant approached.
"Admiral, the Canal is in scanning distance."
"Thank you, lieutenant. Have the scanners picked anything up?"
"No sir, there doesn't seem to be any movement at all."
"Hmm, interesting. Perhaps the natives all died during the firefight. Oh well, we'll find out soon enough. Back to your station, Lieutenant."
"Yes, sir."

The fleet moved closer to the Canal as it came into viewing distance. The Canal was in complete ruins. The surrounding area looked like it had been firebombed. Clearly, there was a lot of work to be done, but the sooner it was done the sooner an envoy could be sent to the Polynesians and Alaskans.

But if there is one thing that is running in his mind, the soviets seem be quite passive in their activities.

If they keep up the situation like this, it will drain their economical stability.

He would make the decision, he would head to the house of commons to discuss this with the Civilian Parliament.

The parliament would be filled with intense and serious debates about the issues with the Soviets and how it is slowly destabilizing the national economy.

On both sides of the House, the Swedish Parliament would be debating with the British Parliament.

Charles sighed in frustration, it seems they also do not have an idea of what to do..

With the materials acquired and the technical specifications on the way to full completion, Stage One had been mostly completed, with the only thing left to consideration was the method of payload delivery. Considering a missile wouldn't be practical to carry such a warhead that weighed several tens of metric tons, a new plan was in place to use a heavily modified Tupolev Tu-95 instead. Of course the matter of weight reduction even then was already in order.

"Just remove everything but the essentials." Lysenko then insisted, already crossing out the bomb-bay doors and fuel tanks off the blueprint to the aircraft.

"Sir, this is a bomb weighing in at excess of 40 metric tons-" The Lead Aerospace Engineer of the Project was then abruptly interrupted by Lysenko himself.

"I know how much it weighs, I designed the damn thing! Look if we have to strapped two of these bombers together in some sort of Frankenstein creation from Hell we can and will do it, you understand me." Lysenko looked back at him, completely dead serious that he will make this Project work no matter the already absurd costs.
