Hey... Just an idea here, but what if we let new RPers take over the NPCs, discounting Hawaii of course, on the condition they stay within the established nation canon.

I expect that will happen, yes...
Though to be honest, the idea that they wouldn't be as flexible as they could be with a new nation would dissuade new RPers from picking them up...

Political collapse happens mid-WW2, 60 years later major nations emerging. Nations expanding, my nation meets hidden group of Siberian German exiles, Scandinavian-British Union goes to war with reformed Soviets that only control Muscovy/Novgorod area, Peace conference happens, Leader of nation at peace conference faints, and that's where we are up to about now.

You could try, but expect the Soviet Union to go to war over it, since well, they have a pretty important reason to have it under a friendly nation's control like Xenick, or simply under their own. direct jurisdiction

Aren't the Soviets too preoccupied with Svenska-Britannica and the Dominion? The nightmare scenario here would be a joint Soviet/Svenska Britannica canal occupation strike. With my goal of selling oil, weapons, tools, and consumer goods to both Japan and Polynesia, I'm evaluating the Sudan-Mali occupation proposed earlier, too.

The Suez Canal zone is the a strategic point of control in the Svenska-Britannica-Soviet Conflict, the Soviet Union knows it and its allies (Arabia) have a lot to gain from controlling a point of access to the Mediterranean as it basically halves the influence and prowess of Iberia by doing so. Also it consolidates control and security with its allies and partners in India and Oceania to link with them in the Black Sea. Basically, the Soviets have a lot to lose and most to gain from controlling the Suez.

I hope my attempt to contact Japan isn't violating game rules. Merchant submarine? Think a U-boat stripped of all weaponry and jam packed with cargo. The Deutschland did it first in 1916. And the Japanese, Italian, and German U-boats did this in WWII, too.

Why the U-boat around the Cape of Good Hope? For centuries, the Cape of Hope's storms made it near suicidal for even motorized ships to traverse. I figure the U-boat's weather officer could have it surface briefly and take repeated weather observations, This could be used to plot a safe shipping route, also.
Were South Africa unoccupied, but a railroad could be built overland from the Atlantic side of Africa to its Indian Ocean side too. Think unloading ships' cargo and railroad hauling it overland to load onto other ships to be hauled to non-Atlantic destinations,

I mean, Africa isn't a small continent, and I do not believe you are in a position to create a colony ALL the way at the bottom of it, not yet.

A joint railroad with Iberia and possibly other nations that would move a ship's cargo overland from a port on the upper South African Atlantic coastline. It would avoid both the South African mountain ranges and deserts. It would end on the Mozambique coastal plain Indian Ocean coastline. There, this same cargo would be loaded in ports onto ships bound for both Polynesia and Japan.

The advantage would be avoiding the death sea storm trap around the Cape of Good Hope. But it promises to be a logistical nightmare unless I can get multiple nations helping, too.

So, in the IC, I want to work on establishing a Polynesian Intelligence Agency, for potential Intelligence Gathering, Counter - Espionage, and Espionage...

However, it would only have a single Counter - Espionage role without some... * Ahem * specific agents, and that would be no fun.

So, here is my question... I've done my small amount of homework, and I have seen that New Zealand (In the modern day) has around 20,000 (ish) United States of America ethnic men and woman...
In addition, New Zealand has around 200,000 ethnic English, 25,000 ethnic Scottish and 10,000 ethnic Irish men and women...

Now, I understand that, because of the Cataclysm, that we could probably - 60% or so from the populations of these ethnicities from the modern day... Which would mean: (very quick predictions, don't mind me)

9,000 Americans

80,000 English
9,250 Scottish
4,600 Irish

Men and women within New Zealand, in addition not counting the other territories of South Polynesia, or additional factors (Such as the American soldiers who may have found themselves stranded on Pacific Islands after the Cataclysm, which occurred months before the end of WW2 in our timeline)...
So, I suppose no one would put up too much of a fuss if I sneak in a few native Colonial Americans, English and/or Scottish people in as potential agents of this supposed Intelligence Agency?
