The more messages, the more things for other players to do, the more activity.
So I am absolutely in favour.

Indeed. I just need to find the excuse to send the message, but I am confident I can have something laid out in some hours today.
Maybe some "wrapped" orcs could be a nice message.
Also, What became of Aragorn? been thinking about it.
EDIT: I do see he is being sent messages by the dwarves.

Mhm. I figure that with the Ring never found and the Quest for the Erebor failed, there's likely little reason for him to be outside of Eriador, especcially with Thuringwethil waging war on it during the War of the Ring.
Given that he's Aragorn, he prolly even survived and retreated to the Shire and the Towers of Elostirion.

Yeah I would imagine him in Elostirion if anything.
I am thinking of making a human character without any political power to expand interactions into the neutral/good side. How many years into Sauron's "victory" are we? human characters kinda need human time scales, I reckon.

Does that mean they are forced to work for Saruman as he deems necessary? Or are they all just dead or expelled in favor of the orcs/Dunlendings?

Name: Æfenhere, son of Æschelm
Race: Rohirric Northmen (Helmingas)
Appearance: Æfenhere had long, yellow hair and blue eyes once, like most of the Rohirrim. He has a wide nose and somewhat flat-looking face. His hair, however, has become brittle and grey, and he seems aged, while his eyes have lost their bright.
Role: Angren vale worker. Former Rohirrim warrior.
Motivations: The safety of his family. While he was part of Prince Theodred’s guard in the Westfold, Æfenhere’s spirit is now broken, and his only concern is the safety of his wife and his remaining son.
History: When prince Théodred took seat at Helm’s Deep to face the threat of Saruman, Æfenhere made heed of his lord Erkenbrand, and took to the Hornburg with his eldest son, Æscbald, joining the Prince’s forces in preparation for war. They both fought in the First Battle of the Isen, and the son was amongst those that rode north of the Isen, then pulled back safely. Æfenhere was sent along with the riders of Grimbold to relieve Grimdale. Yet it was a strategy to divert the defenses of the Ford. Théodred had pulled back, and Æscbald was dead on the field. They followed the Prince’s retinue to the Hornburg, but Æfenhere was told to muster levies in the Westfold, having earned the trust of his lord and his sympathy for his loss.
When he returned home and told his wife and remaining son of the events in the War she acted quickly. She knew, through her Dunnish family, that an army from the north now moved to reinforce Isengard, and that going to the Hornburg was suicide. He didn’t listen and gathered a company of footmen and light riders. On his way back his wife begged him to stay. He delayed two days before leaving. Too late he saw the last stand in the Hornburg, and the final defeat of Rohan.
Disgraced and beaten in spirit, Æfenhere told his men to go home, to forget it, and live.
Territory: Their house at the foot of the White Mountains at the Westfold.
Strength: Able rider and capable warrior.
Notable Artifacts:
Name: Étaín the Dunnish
Race: Dunnish Middlemen
Appearance: Étaín has dark-brown hair and grey eyes. She is clearly sprung from the kins of the House of Haleth. However, her stature is outstanding. Her hair is braided and her face, unlike her husband’s tends to seem elongated, while her eyes are somewhat trending towards squinting.
Role: Angren Vale farmer and forester.
Motivations: Her main drive is the safety of her family. Unlike Æfenhere, however, she has used her Dunnish links to avoid the worse of Saruman’s conquest.
History: Through her cousins from the north, Étaín knew what would befall Rohan. She had long feared the war that would come, and in secret kept a correspondence with relatives in her home, which she left to marry a man of Rohan and cement some peace between their people. She had, still, learnt to love that man, and Étaín feared for their survival. The news that Æfenhere brought shattered her heart, as with any other mother. But she knew to act quickly. She begged him to stay, and used every single device at her disposal, even poison to make her husband sleep. Ultimately, Æfenhere left clinging to his horse, and returned some days later a changed man. Étaín wonders ever since if her actions didn’t kill her husband beyond dead itself, as he has become a husk of the man he used to be. She has made sure the command Æfenhere was given and the trust he earned were kept a secret to the Dunlending mercenaries and chieftains that occupied the lands between the Isen and the Adorn, the latter not far from their home. Words exchanged in her language and some common acquaintances have been enough to keep the family safe, to a point.
Strength: Able with the bow and spear. Well-versed in herbs and their uses. Can speak Westron, Rohirric and Dunnish.
Name: Snawhelm, son of Æfenhere
Race: Rohirric Northmen
Appearance: Though barely a man, Snawhelm’s face resembles his father’s. His nose is wide and his eyes are blue. It is, however, not flat, like Æfenhere’s, but somewhat like his mother and late brother. His hair is between golden and silver, hence his name little after birth. His skin is also rather pale and has kept freckles, clearly born from her mother’s people. He keeps his hair short, though it would trend to be curly if left unchecked.
Role: Hunter and worker in the Angren Vale.
Motivations: Snawhelm’s only current motivation is survival, but, unlike his father, isn’t broken, and may very well become something else entirely.
History: If knowing that his brother died and that the war was lost entirely was bad already for the boy, Snawhelm could barely stand his father’s withering in front of his eyes. Had he been allowed, Snawhelm would have gone to war too, and died there as well. But his father insisted he had to stay and take care of his mother. Æscbald had asked for that too, and that convinced him to stay. Now that promise haunted him. He wanted to crumble like father was, but he couldn’t. He had to defend his mother and his father now. Étaín’s contacts and letters allowed them some respite from Saruman’s orcs. The family was largely left alone, with some Dunnish warriors coming to demand some tribute. Étaín would often calm them down before setting them in a table and giving them meat that her son had hunted, along with some mead her man had stored.
It was in one of those visits, the second, that they advised Étaín that the orcs demanded workers. Snawhelm protested, but he had no choice. He left with them along with his father, and they toiled in the furnaces of the orcs for a week. The Dunnish warriors kept close eye on them, and ensured their release after an exhausting service moving coal and timber in a camp near the Isen, two days from home. The second time, under his mother’s suggestion, he earned some better treatment by providing some game he caught with his bow. Less time near orcs was better than all the time. The third time the orcs demanded more meat and he earned a whipping. Luckily his father wasn’t around. Since then Snawhelm has been able to be somewhat safe, always bringing meat for orcs and men at the camp and being released along with his father after some days of hard labour. Yet they are unlikely to resist much more now.
Territory: None
Strength: Skilled bowman and hunter. Able rider.
Notable Artifacts: A bow once brought by his father when serving Grimbold years before the War.

Mhm, nice apps. I assume the general idea would then be to escape and try to make their way northwards?

I'll have to have you lower the count of soldiers Faramir has under his command, especially the Rangers. 100-150 Rangers would be far more sensible, but the assorted Gondorians is perfectly fine. Otherwise, besides some minor grammar mistakes everything looked great!

My thoughts were that the group would have been gradually tracking westwards since the fall of Minas Tirith, largely just fleeing from the occupiers, so it's most definitely conceivable that they'd be in the western portion of the mountains.
