This bill would deliver millions in northern money to the south in a form that's not controlled by northern bankers. Naturally, as it will have purview over the south ad will have to have it's board members approved through the senate, it will be an organization in which governance is dominated by southerners, even if it does expand outside of the old confederacy that it's meant to start in. This bill would be good for Mississippi and I'm sure you know people who you believe to be fit run the corporation it creates.

It'll help out Mississippi? I know a few of my staff members that would love to just git on outta washin'tin n' go down t' richmond. I can set up some meetin's wit local constituents n' pop the question t' 'em. Since the members hav't t' be approved by the senate, it will give both you and I a veto on possibly, more racialy charged candidates. I don't want nazis for god's sakes on the board, no matter how closely tied I am with the peculiar instution of slavery, so having a way to stick it to Turner will be the icing on the Mississippi Onion that this bill is shapin' up 't be.

Douglas sighed he couldn't believe that the Speaker would put Broussard in such a position of privilege. But at least he couldn't ask him questions he thought. Come to think of it, Broussard was really the only who had asked him questions on this bill, he could probably motion for a vote he thought to himself, and that was exactly what he would do.

I should also remind you that you're not the only one who can object for obstructionisms' sake, I'd like to see the passage of AIDA sooner rather than later, sure, but it's part of my Husband's campaign, it's a proposal with a future. That's not quite the circumstance for anything you bring to the floor.
