"Actually," Benedict says towards Ladhe, "You made two motions, and received a second and an objection with no tell of what they were both for. What I said was regarding your motion to 'untable', never heard of that one before, son."
Senator Ladhe (D-MT) begins wheezing, moving his right wrist to cover his mouth while pressing his left hand against his desk so that he can hold himself steady. After his cough subsides, he answers, "Gillespie, untable means the same thing as bring to the floor but acts as a more concise, descriptive way to word that particular phrase. Now, if you'd like to get back to the business of the Senate rather than question my very obvious wording, I'd be more than obliged to join you."
Ladhe also scratches down a note that is sent to Senators Boone and Morrison:Should Gillespie and Turner continue to act as thorns in my side, I'll die of frustration rather than cancer. I'd owe both of you one if you'd shut them up for me.
United States Senate
Senator Benedict Gillespie
[Republican- State of Arizona]
"I believe the motion you are making is to suspend the rules and bring the bill to the floor. 'Untable' is no such word, nor motion, nor activity. Also, I don't believe this is a place for you in your current health and will soon be submitting a proposal to politely remove you from committee assignments specifically because I fear for your health."
