"Actually," Benedict says towards Ladhe, "You made two motions, and received a second and an objection with no tell of what they were both for. What I said was regarding your motion to 'untable', never heard of that one before, son."

Senator Ladhe (D-MT) begins wheezing, moving his right wrist to cover his mouth while pressing his left hand against his desk so that he can hold himself steady. After his cough subsides, he answers, "Gillespie, untable means the same thing as bring to the floor but acts as a more concise, descriptive way to word that particular phrase. Now, if you'd like to get back to the business of the Senate rather than question my very obvious wording, I'd be more than obliged to join you."

Ladhe also scratches down a note that is sent to Senators Boone and Morrison:
Should Gillespie and Turner continue to act as thorns in my side, I'll die of frustration rather than cancer. I'd owe both of you one if you'd shut them up for me.

United States Senate
Senator Benedict Gillespie
[Republican- State of Arizona]

"I believe the motion you are making is to suspend the rules and bring the bill to the floor. 'Untable' is no such word, nor motion, nor activity. Also, I don't believe this is a place for you in your current health and will soon be submitting a proposal to politely remove you from committee assignments specifically because I fear for your health."

"You don't give a damn about my health," Ladhe (D-MT) snorts in reply. "I am not attempting to suspend the rules, Gillespie, but I'm considering suspending my patience. You know you can't bring that to a vote because you know that I'll filibuster it and other Democrats will filibuster it because we're not putting up with your stupid games. Sit your ass down and let the Senate get to work. I say that we should get to work, and I am more than certain that our colleagues agree. Quite frankly, I'd prefer a battle of wits, but as it is quite clear that you have none, you should return to your duties as king of the witless, you yellow-bellied snake. You know as well as anyone else in this chamber that I am perfectly capable of performing my duties; liver cancer does not affect my ability to help the good people of these United States. Now, if you'd like to be known as the man that attempted to deprive Montana of one of its Constitutionally guaranteed voices in Senate Committees, we can have that discussion as well, and we can all sit back and laugh as you make a fool of yourself. Your delusions of adequacy are more than enough daydreams for you to handle today. Now, I must admit that I like that you've tried to attack me, but it's impossible to underestimate you, Senator, and, frankly, I'm quite jealous of anyone that hasn't met you."

"Mr. Ladhe, if you want to 'untable' a bill as you say, a motion to suspend the rules must be made. That's simple Senate Procedure. I barely speak on the Senate floor, I have no clue why you're becoming so defensive, I don't know you personally, and I doubt you know me well enough to make a determination on my 'yellow-belliedness'. It was a simple point, and because of your current behavior, I now find it imperative that you get well-needed rest. Mr. Ladhe, Montana deserves a Senator who can fight for them, not someone who coughs up a lung at a young age."

Ladhe dryly smacks his lips and replies, "You, sir, are the reason that God invented the middle finger," before taking his seat. "I motion that the argument between myself and the Senator be struck from the record and that we return to Senate matters by unanimous consent."

"I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong. It seems to be you that are unaware of the ways of the Senate, Senator," spat Ladhe in reply. "Senate procedure allows for a call to order, under which a Senator can request previous statements be stricken from the record. Though I have admittedly jumped the guns so to speak, it shows that it is clearly not I that am ignorant of Senatorial procedure. Furthermore, I again refer to Senator Gillespie as a yellow-bellied snake as well as an insolent ass. I also add that he is not a vulture, but rather something that vultures feed on: namely, carrion." Ladhe again turns toward the Pres Pro Temp. "Allow me to amend my wording, sir. I motion for a call to order and request that our argument be stricken from the Senate's records."

"Howdy! Because you just seconded the Senator from Montana's motion, you do realize we will have to put the whole senate to a vote, which would cause the Senate more time before we could get back to Senatorial Business? I've always admired your need to work for Mississippi, Senator. Please, consider this request."
says a note given to Senator Sharp from an aide to Senator Gillespie,

Joshua Sharp
Senator from Mississippi (Democratic)

Senator Sharp furrows his brow at the letter his frail elbows were jabbed with when an aide tripped on the floor of the Senate.

"Oh, you poor fool... I'll pay fer yer ice. Ok that's a lie, I won't. But I'll pray fer y'all t' git better. Thanks for the letter." Sharp whispered to the whimpering aide that had gifted the letter to Sharp before he put on his pair of glasses again to squint at the hand writing. Sharp smiled from ear to ear as he tore a small section of paper from his desk and scribbled out a response to this creature known as a 're-pub-lee-can'. Once he was done he slapped the nearest aide and pointed squarely at the desk where Senator Gillespie was sitting in the Senate Chambers.

Well, if it means the bizness will take a lil' bit longer, but it's for the purpose o' not shootin' gum outta our asses, then I'm all fer it. If the whole kingdom o' god's gotta have a quota 'fore we git inna heaven, then I'd sit down n' shut up if I was y'all t' git through it. It won't take that long, but that's the Senate fer ya, uuhh... Gill easy pie. Gillespie? I know this, I know Earl's got lot's a 'xperince herdin' cats.. or in this case donkeys and jackasses. What's yer fella's name anyhow that's got that unenviable job?

Senator, I believe you are misunderstanding the motion. Mr. Ladhe is motioning to strike the argument from the congressional record which would not be transparent. As you can imagine, that is a bad thing going into the election. I urge you to reconsider.

Joshua Sharp
Senator from Mississippi (Democratic)

The old man went wide eyed at the response given to him by the 'ree pub lee can' creature. Sharp had been mislead, he had been absolutely bamboozled by that Montanan, and the fact that the old man might have been getting a bit "less wise" than he was in his youth. But, even if it was for a corrupt politician, he felt as though he owed something to his friend in the Senate. He might not have voted alongside the Dixiecrats from time to time, but he was a man he admired. It was him sticking up for his principles, even if those principles were...shady at best and downright illegal at the worst case. Sharp silently prayed it wasn't that corrupt and that sickening, but if he was going down with the ship he wasn't about to throw in the towel or jump for the life boats, that was for damn sure.

Sharp wasn't a very smart politician, but he was a damned loyal one to his friends. After a few silent moments of contemplation, he came to the same conclusion. He would still back his friend. So he scribbled out a polite response to that 'feller from the tan state that ain't that racist'.

Oh, is that what he's tryin' t' do? Well I'm now 200 percent behind his ass! I ain't for corruption mind y'all, but I am for stickin' up for my friend inna the Senate. If he wants to "correct" an "incorrection", then I'm goin' t' support his ass.

P.S. Please don't tell Mrs. Sharp
