As long as Jackson insinuates that the campaign is being rigged in Fraser's favor, he has zero incentive to heed Davis complaints about not "dog-fighting". What's Davis gonna do, intervene and therefore make it clear that the republican establishment is not, in fact on Fraser's side?

Character State of Origin: Arkansas
Character State of Residence: Arkansas
Character Party Affiliation: Republican Party
Main Strengths: Great author, great following among conservative circles, son of war hero
Main Weaknesses: Overshadowed by his father, accusations of nepotism and privilege, considered "far right" by some
Biography:

Michael Jackson is the only son of Jonathan Jackson and Louise Cromwell Brooks. He was born in 2 April 1927. From a young age, he received the best private education his parents could afford him. He showed a love for music, sailing, horses, hunting, and skiing. Despite his stellar grades and good physique, he was a rather shy individual and lacked charisma, especially compared to his famous father.

When the Japanese struck at Pearl Harbor, he was only 14 years old and too young to fight in the war. His father's victories in the Pacific War affected him, by giving the young teenager great publicity. When he went to church, there was always a huge crowd watching him and all the parents wanted their daughters to dance with "the General's son", though Michael was somewhat reserved and hated that attention. Despite his displeasure, though, the attention given to him forced him to become far more sociable than he wanted and to advance his social skills.

In 1945, he enrolled at Yale University, in which he studied political science, history, and economics, graduating with honors in 1950. He excelled on the Yale Debate Team; under the tutelage of Yale professor Rollin G. Osterweis, Michael honed his acerbic style. In 1951, Michael published his book, God and Man at Yale. Offering a critique of Yale University, Michael argued in the book that the school had strayed from its original mission by attacking the religiosity of students and pushing them to embrace liberalism. Being promoted by his father, the book became a hit amongst conservatives.

In 1952, with financial aid from his father, Michael founded the National Review, a conservative magazine that hoped to promote into the mainstream libertarian economics, social conservatism and anti-communism. Over the years, the magazine would gain increased prominence in conservative circles and would come to influence the conservative wing of the Republican Party. At the same time, though, it caused controversy. Michael strongly defended Senator Joseph McCarthy as a patriotic crusader against communism, attacked President Davis as "too moderate" and published articles calling for the abolition of social security. Michael also wrote critiques against the staunchest civil rights advocates, causing some to criticize him as being a covert supporter of segregation.

With his father running for the presidency, Michael hopes to use his position as Editor-in-Chief to support his father's crusade against the moderates of the GOP. He also hopes to soon run for office himself...

Other Info:

  • Single, but rumored to be seeing the daughter of prominent Republican Senator
  • He has a summer house in Alaska, and has been visiting the state almost every summer. He has also written and published a short collection of poems describing the natural beauty of Alaska

Great. Expect a telegram tomorrow then (or some other day, depending on when you are free). :)

Though expect Michael to ask some tough questions, as he isn't exactly a friendly to Davis interviewer :p

At least Sharp gets to play in the deep south, giving speeches about the joys of segregation. He even tied some civil war imagery into his visit to the state.

have to say though, Micheal Jackson's doing some historical revisionism here, the GOP doesn't really have conservative roots, it has sort of taft, Herbert Hoover and the 20 years of Ls the new deal democrats handed em.

between Lincoln and Teddy it was pro-business right leaning liberal, not really conservative, but I suppose that sort of myth making comes with writers like him.

I will say though, Fraser has diligently avoided opening with attacking Jackson from the left, really so far the only positions he's stood left of Jackson on is supporting FORTIFY and the policies he has the Governor of New York.

I really agree, and unless he stops being as Extreme, the President is going to be forced to make a statement. He is going into an interview with him and if he tries to pull any extreme conservative crap, Henry will have to check him.

Any advice on a character? This looks interesting. Combining Washington and the Land of the Free, I have played a Wyoming Senator, a Utah Senator, a Nebraska Governor, and a New York Governor (all Republicans) I live in Wyoming, by the way, I would like a character there.

Currently, we need more Representatives, but if you write a really good app, there is space for a Senate Minority Leader, and you can make him from Wyoming, but if you'd like to, you could always go the Governor route!

Reading Lahde's thoughts... I have an idea. Maybe National Review should have an article asking about who really is the candidate, Governor Fraser or his wife? "Are Americans ready to be governed by a woman?"
