One thing I will be interested in for 1960 is a third party southerner. Someone like Byrd who managed to take Mississippi and Alabama. Could be a real wrench thrown in there. Especially if the election particularly close.

And I look forward to see what you have planned!
Boone is running explicitly to undercut such a possibility (he also wants to be President, but that's his selling point to the Party).

I think Oswald could have an interesting dynamic with Boone. Since the civil rights issue might be a problem, but he's massively for the Second Bill of Rights that Boone proposes. Overwhelmingly supports it, even.

While I don't think Jackson is a great candidate for it, cross-party endorsements actually weren't that crazy back in this era. Needless to say, America was much less polarized, even despite the Civil Rights movement.

True, so conservative Democrats, give Jackson a call. :)

Well, sounds like they need to have a meeting! I'm leaving home at the moment but if you wish Oswald can visit Boone in his office in the Old Senate Building (which will eventually be renamed the Russell Building).

If that happens don’t be surprised if Rodgers leaves the dems. I think Roger if he wins the White House that’s probably not gonna happen...

Come on, join the elephants, we're gonna make the republican party liberal again. :p

Will be having Jackson give an interview to a newspaper (Jan 4 date). Ideas about which paper?

Is it a little interview (like the little articles we post?) or a big interview

Think medium sized. Not huge post, but larger than the articles, with actual questions and answers rather than simple reporting.

Then you'll need a player to conduct the interview.

Sure. :)

So... tomorrow, you can? If yes, when you can, send me a TG. If no, we can plan another day.

Wondering if I should just do the inaugural speech as governor, seeing as these meetings are going kind of slow.

Oops, I accidentally referred to Sharp as Alabama's senator in my last post. I'm going to play it off as Boone not caring enough to distinguish between the Dixiecrats. Once you've met one, you've met them all.

lol, if Sharp or his campaign manager can't bother to tell the difference between north carolina and tennessee, he'll take pride in being confused with being the senator from Alabama.

Louisianan, btw in real life I don't like affirmative action very much. But I think making my character see it as a potential solution would add some depth, some contrast to the Dixiecrats, and something interesting.

Sharp seems to be pissing everyone off, from the Republicans to even Boothe with the vote against D.C.

I'm sure when the time comes for Sharp to be on committees, he'll be off a few, incurring the wrath of the democratic party whip. At least he'll be able to go back to his state and gauge some popular opinion, maybe commission an internal campaign poll that says
"do you agree with Senator Sharp's vote against D.C Statehood" or something like that.
